Wonderful bakery with friendly staff. Regularly sell out on Saturdays and there's always a wait so best to go during the week. Their olive loaf is ????
C’est une excellente boulangerie! Le pain est excellente et de pain au chocolate est trop delicieux! (This is an excellent bakery. The bread is amazing and the bread with chocolate is delicious!) The staff are also super friendly and always happy to lend a hand. The rye bread is incredible and there are so many cheeses to choose from. Make sure to get here early in the day so you can get the products you want! You won’t be disappointed!
Best bread for purchase in the city.
We won't go anywhere else for Bread now. This is the place to buy bread in Edmonton. We have never had something we don't like
Great bread and cheese selection. Friendly staff
Super love our neighbourhood bakery. They are so sweet to our son (even when he was a baby and wailing in the store) and have consistently delicious products. Unparalleled croissants. Highlight of our Saturday mornings. They've managed COVID well even though it's a small space. Go early for the best selection. Limited parking in the back, and best to pay with interac or cash if you want to avoid fees. You can also put in an order early and then just go in for pick up.
Yum!
Delicious bread. The best boulangerie in Edmonton.
What a plesure to shop here. The breads are best tasting ever, made using old fashoned recipes - even if a bit overproved or overbaked to my taste. Always polite and knowledgeable staff, friendly owner, and the collection of the best French and Canadian cheeses, place this boulangerie way ahead any competition!
My son lives on the Miche and bagels from here. Best place in the city for bread. I'd give more stars if I could. They are also great with changes due to covid. Social distancing markers, signs, staff wear masks, sink to wash your hands.
Knowledgeable, and super-friendly staff, who are not eager to make a sale. Best Potato Sourdough I have ever had! I am now a weekly regular, and will never buy Store-bought again.
Nice staff, no parking and great bread.
Great service, amazing cheese selection
IMHO, the BEST BAKERY in town. Only there one can get properly done sour dough breads in Edmonton. Love their baguettes, pull-apart breads, croissants, ...! Amazing variety of products. On weekend mornings get prepared for a long line-up. Cash/debit. Friendly, helpful and sometimes not-so-fast service :) In addition - great (unique) variety of French/Quebec/Swiss cheeses (including those from unpasteurized milk), and local honey. The owners are sweet, lovely couple, you always want to come back - not only for amazing bread experience but for a service.
Beast bread. Thanks.
It's always a real treat to go grab my Saturday morning croissants. I can't help picking up a different loaf everytime and it never disappoints. Boulangerie Bonjour is a little jewel of a place run by a true master baker. Highly recommended!
Sourdough bakery that also sells cheese. Roquefort blue cheese yum. Check it out.
Fantastic artisan bread and epic cheese counter (50 kinds!) backed by a passion and knowledge of product that all foodies will appreciate.
When I moved to Edmonton from Montreal, I was very disappointed at the quality of the bread you could find here. I would talk about it at every party. Until I discovered Boulangerie Bonjour. Hands down the best bread in town. They really care about bread and it shows.
The absolute best bakery in the city by far. Fresh baked breads are amazing and the selection of cheeses is exceptional. highly recommend the the Purple wheat cranberry & walnut bread only made on Fridays & Saturdays!!!!
Bakery Bonjour has the most absolutely intoxicating aroma that wofts outside the front door when you pass by. Featuring delicious, buttery flake pastries and robust crusty breads anything you pick up at this bakery is sure to please.
Always excellent and tasty bread and pastry! The only reason I give 4 stars is their French only price tags after they have done reno. IMHO, for those who do not speak French and do not know how to properly pronounce it, it is hard to order!! I have not gone there often enough to remember my favorite bread's names in English. Now I have to say: give me "that thing" and "this thing", instead of naming the bread.
Such good bread!!! I grew up in the Northern California and, although I have lived all over North America, I thought I would never find bread as good as they make in the SF Bay Area but I was wrong. Boulangerie Bonjour's seeded baguette is the best I've ever tasted. Amazing pastries as well!
Excellent bread quality !
Yummy yum yums in my tummy tum tum.
Great friendly service with the best bread I've had in Canada. Cheese selection is unique and delicious. This bakery is a hidden gem, get there early on weekends as it does sell out later in the day.
Lovely bakery! The breads here are amazing, and the staff is so friendly.
Delicious but pricey.
Excellent import cheese selection and great fresh bread perfectly paired with a bike ride to the old Strathcona farmers market with a nice place to lock up your bike.
Delicious sourdough bread. Can't wait to go back again!
The strawberry rhubarb Danish was amazing.
Best cheese and bread in the city.
Has great sourdough bread and croissants.
Good place. Great food. Nice staff
Excellent bakery, I love their bagels.
Highly recommended
AMAZING! Got there around 9am and they had fresh baked traditional sourdough bread. The guy who sold me the bread said "open up the bag when you get a chance to let the steam out", and OH BOY, the smell! That bread smelled and tasted delicious. Also got the apple and peach danish to surprise my boyfriend with a little breakfast. HE LOVED IT TOO! The peach danish is buttery, airy and has a great bite. IT TASTED LIKE HEAVEN. Just moved to the neighborhood... one taste, and I'm an instant regular. Will definitley be coming back.
Amazing bread and cheese!
My favourite neighborhood bakery in edmonton. Worth a try
(Translated) Baguettes and the best cheeses! Low key, rather a secret, a hidden gem. A place of wonder! (Original) Baguettes et les meilleur fromages! Low key, rather a secret, a hidden gem. A place of wonder!
Fantastic bread and pastries!
You can either be the boutique bougie bakeshop with $4 stuffed muffin thingys, OR you can be the scrappy storefront that passes on merchant credit fees to the customer (3% fee). Or you can be both and I give you 1-star, s’pose
Great bread
I don’t dislike sourdough, but it’s not really something I seek out. I figured I should give some a try here since it’s their specialty and it (the traditional) was SO GOOD. The flavour is fantastic, it sits so easy in my stomach, and the crust is the perfect crispy texture and almost nutty flavour. Picked up some croissants as well as I’m on an ongoing search for the best croissant in the city. This definitely makes the top 5. Great little bakery.
The best French Bakery in Edmonton Ever! Ok. Limited parking at the back...but the bread you get is fantastic. The selection of french cheeses is amazing. The patisserie bit is unbelievable. Try kuing-aman. Its a must! the local bread is simply unforgettable! Staff is as always great
They have the best baguettes! Newly renovated with an even larger cheese selection.
Excellent bakery based on sourdough products. Some savoury snacks would complete the picture
Great selection of cheeses and many in house bread loaves.
Great bread and organic too.
Excellent bakery for European breads
Amazing wholesome natural sourdough bread. Also the sell great frozen pizza dough. I haven't tried the cheese yet but it looks good. Watch the Netflix documentary Cooked and then come here!
They have a nice selection of cheese. They run out of bread pretty early in the day though. Their bread quality is not exceptional but they got really good croissant. Generally, it's so so so pricy that it's better to stay away!
Great service and baking! Adds a wonderful vibe to the community
The owners Yvan & Ritsuko are amazing people! Humble, kind, considerate and of course they make magnificent bread! The walnut & raisin rye is my favourite, you have to try it! This is REAL bread, made the way it's supposed to be, with quality ingredients, time, wisdom and love! :)
Really really good pastry and bread. One of the best bakeries in Edmonton. Give it a try you won't find better tasting wares. Highly recommended.
Fantastic as always, get there early to snag a Danish and check out the cheese options. Warm staff and an overall great little spot.
Absolutely wonderful. We've been patrons for years and no matter where we go (when we were allowed to), we're struck at how incredibly lucky we are to have Boulangerie Bonjour in Edmonton. World class bread & baked products. The cheese selection is wonderful! For a tour of cheeses, ask Yvan what he suggests based on what you prefer. This is our favourite bakery (and cheese shop) and this isn't an Edmonton only ranking.
Don't forgot to bring cash or debit!
Amazingly delicious pastries and breads! Thank you.
Loved the pastries we got from the bakery. Staff were friendly, lots of options for loaves of bread, maybe I'll try them next time. We were in a mood for freshly baked pastries that day. All of them were delicious, although I would pass on the chocolate croissant (they're generally underwhelming) the croissant aspect of it was fine, the chocolate is always the disappointing part. This has nothing to do with the bakery it's more a personal dislike of the chocolate croissant in general.
Best bakery in western Canada.
I popped in for the first time today, right when they opened. I bought a strawberry rhubarb Danish, and it was honestly the best Danish I've ever had. It was warm, crispy, buttery, and the rhubarb gave the Danish a great tart flavour.
Best bread in Edmonton. Also an awesome choice of real good cheese. Expensive but worst every cent!
Great artisan bakery. Awesome breads and pastry
Come for the bread, stay for the cheese! Their sourdough bread is the right combination of crustiness in the outside that yields to the yummy soft center. The cheese selection blew my mind! After testing some samples I went with the P'tit Basque but I know I still have many more to try! Mind that their freshly baked morning bread brings a crowd so you may need to spend some minutes to line up. All worth it!
Terrible service and incredibly rude staff. I was totally ignored while they served their regulars, even though we were obviously next in line waiting to buy cheese! We must have waited fifteen minutes only to be ignored once we were next in line! Thanks, but I will go somewhere else!
Fantastic bakery excellent staff
They make wonderful bread, and now I see they also have cheese and even hemp hearts!
Just did a small reno on the place which works out great. You still see the back part where the baking is done and more room for customers . As it gets busy on a Saturday afternoon. Best to call and reserve you faves ahead of time. People that work there are also super friendly.
Lovely cheese recommendations and great bread.
Great bread and cheese!
Great bread!
Yvan always knows how to provide a special cheese shopping experience when I'm purchasing cheeses. For me it's the best cheese shop in town for the quality of the products they bring in. The bread is also #1 along with everything else along with the friendly staff. Of the 5 stars review i gave, this one is my favorite spot in town and I spread the word to the good people that deserve happiness in their lives. Continue de nous servir des produits hors pair mon copain. Tu fais hommage aux meilleurs boulangers de ce monde qui se lèvent tôt pour servir au peuple le pain quotidien.
Found this little gem when I started bringing my dog to the vet next door. Amazing bread and pastries, they also have a large selection of cheeses which I am definitely going to try some of thoes next time I come in. Definitely worth a look!
This bakery has such great bread at good prices too.
I had been looking for a proper baguette for a long while and finally found Boulangerie Bonjour. Highly recommend the baguettes and the all the sour dough, can't go wrong. The cheeses are also delicious, what a treat for our city!
Delicious croissants!
It is easy to over look the pastries, because there is no better loaf of bread in town; but you'd be missing out on a little piece of heavenly magic hiding in plain sight in the form of a Madagascar Bourbon Vanilla Custard Danish. I could spend the rest of this review naming other bakeries that just can't quite get it right, but it's more efficient to say this is the real deal - there are master artisans at work here - incapable of making mistakes, who would rather die than serve an inferior product. They are not churning out recipes to feed the masses, NO! The passion and drive to know more is always there to be savored in the crust and crumb - it is truly palpable. I'm a concert, a devotee, and I would rather die than buy an inferior baguette.
Some of the best bread I've ever had- period. Traditionally made bread and pastries using local, organic, heritage grains - it's the only bread I will eat! Highly recommended.
Always a delight to visit. We feel part of their family! Bread Is delicious & Cheese is out of this world; Yvan males sure to have our favourites.
Place for some authentic European cheese with AOC or DOP certification. Hope you have more raw cheese and wash rind cheeses in the future. Keep up the good work.
The best sourdough in the city! They also have an incredible collection of cheese, including cured cheese, which has almost no lactose!
I love the the fresh products and staff as so helpful and very polite oh and the best tasting bread you can get is from them
An impressive range of baked goods and breads. Don't forget to show up early because most things are gone by noon.
Great healthy food.
Best in Edmonton.
This is the best bakery I have been to in Edmonton. Delicious fresh bread with a variety of cheese that is just tastebud blowing! A small selection of sweets and honey, perfect for a BREAD BAKERY-- not a café. Better than any fancy bread you can buy at a supermarket or a grocery store. Totally worth the effort to travel halfway across the town (I come from the very north end of Edmonton) to this bakery near Whyte ave. The owner and his wife are always so thankful when I buy bread from them. Dear owners, if you read this review, I would like you to know that I am even more thankful that you exist in Edmonton. Please never stop running your bakery!!!
Bread is consistently excellent, but arrive early for full selection. There are no wrong choices here.
Baguette is a must get.
Got very disappointed with the baguette...too thick(that is even ok...) and wet/raw inside. I tried two different days, two different baguettes of course. Algo got another loaf and for my surprise it had the same taste and state...i think they do one batch and make all the breads at same time! French bread has no fat/oil! I don't think they know that in this bakery!
Best bread and cheese ever! Great staff. So happy to have this businesses in our neighborhood.
Great bread and friendly service ????
Extremely great always look forward to shopping for bread and cheese
Best baguettes in Edmonton without a doubt! Almost like the real thing. A nice (but small) selection of cheese rounds out an overall excellent experience.
I bought stollen this year for Christmas gifts for friends. Amazing for brunch, or just sit in front of the fire and eat the whole thing yourself. I think this will be a new tradition. Everyone loved it; but how could they not with such incredible products.
First time going for me. Just the most friendliest staff and the most INCREDIBLE tasting delights!
Croissant king! I haven't had this good of a pain au chocolat in a while!
I love the baguettes - excellent!
Perfect pain au chocolat. Hearty raisin walnut rye.
Amazing bread and cheese!
Great bakery only draw back are the hours.
Get the Campanier cheese (if you can). I stand in line for a whole day to get that cheese. They sell out quickly, so get it when you can!
Fantastic local bakery. The staff are always give good advice on the cheeses they carry and the service is very friendly!
I had a chocolate croissant it was delicious
Freshly baked bread. Breathe it in.
Friendly and knowledgeable with great baking and cheese!
The yummiest bread that I've tried in Edmonton so far. Raisin walnut bread is our family favourite.
Always amazing! The best cheese and butter selection in Edmonton.
Bar none the best baguettes in town!
Absolutely adoor Anything from their doors ????
Best bread I've had on this continent (I'm no a coneseure by any means though). But for the guy who enjoys healthy ingredients and tasty breads - Visit here.
Best bread in town
Great bread but I can't understand how a business can be closed 3 days out of the week
Best bakery in Edmonton for old school bread
best in the city
Tasty bread and cookies. The new cheese case is interesting, but I'm not sure it will stay. Amazing chocolate cookies and country rye bread
I like it but there’s too much french going on around there ????
Some of the best danish and bread in YEG!!! Get there early as things can run out fast. Highly recommend the madagascar vanilla danish, it's absolutely delicious. They really care about their business and customers also. They are one of the only businesses that have provided a hand wash station during the pandemic and it is a relief shopping there knowing that you and everyone in there has had an opportunity to sanitize prior to completing your transaction. Thanks for caring folks; you've earned my loyalty!
5 stars for the delicious pastries, cheese selection and fresh bread and the most lovely staff. They always take great care in helping me select cheeses, and often let me taste a few to guide my decision! I only wish they were open more. I find ot hard to get there within their limited hours.
The best bread I've ever had! The customer service is great too. I wish I would've found it sooner.
Best bakery in town
The organic multigrain bread is dense and nourishing. The potato sourdough is very interesting and enjoyable. Staff are patient, and offered to cut the bread for me without me asking them.
The best bread in the city!
Have been coming here for over 7 years. Best bread in Edmonton and terrific people.
Makes it hard to eat other bread once you’ve been here - authentic French bread - I drive over here out of my way at least once a week!
Not only some of the best bread any where the cheese selection is making it worth the trip as well.
Small bakery off 99 St in Edmonton we happened to stumble upon. They have a small selection of pastries, breads and cheese. Their pastry was good but might have to go back and try their cinnamon buns. They sell out fast though, get there early!
Excellent choice of pastries and breads
They sell the frozen baguette at the price of a fresh one, what a shame ...! Even bakeries in grocery stores don't do that !!
Fantastic family run bakery.Wonderful bread. You want to eat it as soon as you get home. And really great cheese they sell, too,as well as some coffee beans, honey, and jam.
Great selection of cheeses and very good chocolate croissants.
Always on point bread. Just wish they were open more than 4 days a week.
Very good cherry danish.
Very good selection of imported cheeses although they are expensive! I was able to find some of my favourite cheeses here that I enjoyed while living in France. The baguettes are on point as well, just the right amount of crispy cut your mouth to soft fluffy inside, just like they are in France!
I got disappointed when I bought a half loaf of sourdough. As soon as I ordered, the lady in the counter packed the leftover on the bread board, maybe after cutting from previous selling and that was not covered with any. I came to this place because of the good rating and I think they must be more mindful for the standard of service and cleanness.
