Amid the souvenir shops and sub par food inside the Tsawwassen ferry terminal, there's a real bakery selling flaky French pastries and a colourful assortment of macarons. It's a local bakery as well - operating out of Langley, their main location has more selection and stocks a bit more rustic breads and cookies, but the ferry terminal booth is nonetheless impressive in its own right. I mean, it's good, quality pastries in the kind of spot that's synonymous with lousy food. Great place to stop. - Mimi's Cake Tour

Rude staff who were giving attitude and drink quality is inconsistent

Got a coffee & ham + cheese croissant. Super delicious, and open at 6am! The staff was very friendly and quick.

Jennifer Lynn Bolster

Slow and rude employees. Coffee had a horrible burnt and bitter flavor, and they forgot my boyfriends knife for his bagel and cream cheese. Facepalm. 0/10

This place always has a line up so I thought it would be worth the exorbitant prices. I was really early for the ferry so I came in and was relieved to see the place totally empty - no line! The baristas were all chatting and took a minute to notice me - fair enough - maybe it was a busy morning. I ordered a breakfast wrap and an americano. I asked them to heat the wrap up it was barely warm when she gave it to me, even though no one was waiting. This was after having to remind her twice which wrap I wanted. I asked for room in the americano (because of how my thermos closes), and specified how full I wanted it. After a few minutes my americano came out almost humourlessly full. Meanwhile the station was totally trashed - evidently hadn't been wiped down in a while, cream/milk aren't labeled, things spilled and napkins empty. I get that it's nice to have a minute to reset and chill out between the ferry rush, but these folks need to prioritize getting reset before they totally check out, and maintain standards for their service. With four people behind the bar and no line up, this was beyond unacceptable.

Thoroughly enjoy Salt Spring Coffee. Go here instead of Starbucks at the ferry terminal if you are actually getting coffee/espresso. I'd probably give it 4.6 out of 5. I don't dish out 5's though unless it's absolutely divine. This is close!

Great coffee great staff! I travel across on the ferry regularly and have never had an issue so not sure whats up with a couple of the other reviews. Definitely recomend this place over Starbucks!!

John Paul Handrigan

I had the Canadiano coffee and it was great. This place is worth checking out while waiting for the ferry. Prices are comparable to other coffee shops (e.g., Second Cup, Starbucks, Timothy's). The one barista that served me was very friendly.

Chris Frauts

Love their coffee, best part of waiting for the Ferry. Just at the opposite end of Starbucks. Good service and super friendly staff.

Much better than Starbucks

Larry McIntyre

Great coffee and much better alternative to the big American coffee chain at the opposite end of the mall. Locally owned (Salt Spring Island) and roasted (Lulu Island, also known as Richmond), lots of south facing, sunny windows. Plenty of seating. Give it a try. Free wifi throughout the mall "BCFerries"

Don Adlam

Great Americanos! Not too bitter or sour. Just right. I think the snacks here are better than Starbucks and they have better seating.

(Translated) Excellent Latte, made for coffee lovers !! The three girls in the service were particularly effective considering the number of people. I'm even disappointed that they do not have a branch at Departure Bay Ferry ... (Original) Excellent Latte, fait pour les amateurs de café!! Les trois filles au service étaient particulièrement efficaces, considérant le nombre de personne. Je suis même déçu de voir qu'ils n'ont pas de succursale au ferry de Departure Bay...

A great small coffee alternative in the ferry terminal. Would rank the experience on par with Starbucks.

Forgot to make my drink and caused me to almost miss my bus. It was a simple (premade) coffee with maple syrup, but there was no maple syrup flavor and the coffee was burnt bitter.

Very slow service and rude employees. Not impressed with this location at all. Please hire staff that follow food safe rules (no fake nails) and staff that actually know what they’re doing and know how to smile. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Beca is the name of the barista that rudely enough insisted we pay 80 cents or else she will not provide milk on the side. She was slow, rude and knew nothing about customer service. If she wanted the 80 cents she should have asked at the time of payment. Since it is her mistake she should not have charged, smiles and make the order that we have asked for. Their coffee is good too bad the service is unfriendly and unprofessional.

This company cares nothing for its customers! I burned my hand badly when the flimsy lid popped off coffee I ordered at the Ferry Terminal location while on holidays. None of the staff helped when I asked for cold water and when I finally took it upon myself to go behind the counter and run my hand under the sink I was told by one of the baristas that I shouldn't be there! No one had any first aid knowledge. I was only offered Solacare and told again that I probably shouldn't be behind the counter. (I had no other nearby access to water!!!!!). No one took down my information even when I asked if they needed to fill out an incident report. After later filing a complaint with head office, I got a phone call from the sales rep with a weak apology, an admission that responsible and qualified staff are hard to come by, and a hint that they would be sending me a "gift" in the mail. Two weeks later, there has been no follow up and nothing in the mail. Wow!
