Set in the heart of Courtenay's old Tin Town where the heritage buildings are tin clad, this cafe is a gem on a number of fronts. The family that run it are wonderfully friendly and have created a cafe environment unique in the valley. On every wall is artwork that is for sale ranging from paintings, pottery, gift cards, travel mugs, and jewellery so wandering through the cafe is a delight. It's easy to support local here! In addition to hot and cold beverages, they have a variety of breakfast goodies ranging from chocolate croissant, fruit stuffed muffins, loaf slices, cookies, etc. They also have a small menu of sandwiches and soups. Tucked in a corner are toys and books for young children making this a good spot for families. Parking can be a bit of a challenge as the cafe shares a lot with several other businesses but parking can usually be found down the street. With the colour everywhere you look from all the art combined with the large windows, this is a lovely coffee, tea, hot chocolate place to meet a friend!

great little place, laid back art. quality coffee and fantastic assortment of local artisan work. Nice family owned vibe - even had their son taking orders which worked well.Great for anyone with options of sit in or open air seating, shade umbrellas, art supplies. Was a nice summer day, the "garage" door was open and the place was active but not too busy that you have to wait. Did not try, but offer a nice selection of baked goods - including gluten free.

Tin town café is a really special place. Tucked away in the heart of Tin town. You have to go searching or hear about it from someone to find it. Filled with plants and art from local artists along with the wooden tables and counter it has a really beautiful feel. The food and coffee are excellent. I am a big fan of the quiche! Everything here is done with the highest regard for quality and aesthetics. It is a real treat to come here!

Red tree coffee is the best coffee you’ll find past Nanaimo. Don’t bother searching Port Alberni, Ucluelet, Tofino, Parksville, or Coombs, because I’ve done that and have been disappointed. I love Third Wave coffee and come here every year from Alberta for the coffee. Super awesome, quiet location. Regard Coffee Roasters in Nanaimo and Red Tree Coffee Roasters in Courtney have my votes as the best coffee on the Island, the difference between Regard and Red Tree is that Tin Town Cafe is a prime location and a wonderful cafe (seating-wise). Will always come back.

Jarlath Blair

Delicious food, excellent coffee, and a wonderful atmosphere!

The coffee was delicious and not a lot different in price from most coffeehouses. The people working were warm and conversational and seemed ready to make any order special however the staff seemed overwhelmed by only a few orders and I was left standing for a long time before my order was placed. This would not be an issue if it only happened once; I've experienced this on three separate occasions. I'd revisit but I expect it to be the same in the near future. If I had some constructive criticism, I'd suggest hiring some energetic and experienced baristas to manage the orders.

What do you give an establishment that has all things going for it? 5 stars - that's what! These guys are the full package - FUN, happy people, great energy, genuinely happy to see you! GREAT FOOD, and by 'great' I mean, excellent value, and tastes delicious! DECOR, seriously don't even know where to start, super impressive products from local artists. So if you're looking for that incredible gift, here's your place. Tin Town Cafe - All the Way!

Jordan Drouin

Great atmosphere, nice cozy place to have a coffee and a chat!

Relaxed atmosphere, super friendly owners, tasty pastries and snacks, and probably the best espresso I've had in the Comox Valley. The cafe also supports local artists by displaying their work offering prints for sale. Do yourself a favor and stop by ☕????❤️

I don’t think there is a better coffee shop in the area than Tin Town. They use locally roasted coffee, paired with a quality (!) espresso machine and beautiful handmade mugs for in-house drinks - not something you see as much in the valley. It’s a bit off the beaten path tucked away in the little neighborhood of Tin Town, so it doesn’t get the traffic it deserves. The atmosphere is quiet, open, and lovely. It’s a big space and they have tons of seating - there are shaded tables outside and workstations inside.

Kieran Maxwell

Excellent food. Owners are delightful. Best coffee I'm town.

Brittany Grozell

Love this spot, not only does it have nice coffee it also offers tons of locally-made items for sale.

Every detail is perfect. Savoury and sweet foods are made with real ingredients. Hot beverages use specialty ingredients so they're beyond compare. The best artists are represented in an eye candy venue and easily purchased. Well chosen music creates peace and the hosts excel at service and kindness. As of this writing, they have a chef on premises! My special place.
