The scones and the pizza here are so good!

On a side street so this bakery can be a bit of a hidden gem but it is definitely worth the short detour walk up from Comox Avenue. Fantastic pastries like croissants, danishes, jelly filled doughnuts and mocha scones tempt visitors. Regulars go there for the fresh daily loaves of bread which they also make into sandwiches. They also do a brisk business in their pizzas. You can purchase hot and cold drinks so it makes for a nice spot to visit although their seating is limited. I can personally recommend their sourdough bread and multi-grain bread as well as their doughnuts and sticky cinnamon rolls.

Nick Pruden

I hate to write this because the pizzas they made 10 months ago were fantastic. We just ordered a pizza tonight for take out and they skimped on the toppings big time, maybe 3 slices of olive per piece. I had to search for the feta, and they substituted the advertised Roma for some halved grape tomatoes. Not impressed... ???? I spoke with a family member who also did not have a good experience. They ordered a vegetarian pizza, went to pick it up and they didn't make that type of pizza anymore and substituted chicken pizza... Again very few pieces chicken and toppings. She ended up taking the pizza even though it wasn't what she had ordered and was charged an extra 3$ for the chicken. For a 25$ pizza I expect more, perhaps they should take a page from Riders pizza.

Judy Bood

The pizza is excellent from this bakery. I had to haggle with them to get a 10% discount on my pizza because it was burnt more that usual for a wood fired pizza. I love this bakery but having to haggle for a 10% discount on a burnt pizza really put me off... they should have just offered it regardless.

Violet Crawley

Great pizza and treats, local beer on tap and friendly staff!

Laura Grandmont

Chelsea Chorneyko

Delicious carrot cake and pretzels, sub par mocha, and extremely slow service. Would recommend the bakery, but not the coffee.

Steve R

I will give Church 4 stars because the cook who covers the boston creme's is an artist and gets the hardness of the chocolate correct. The bad part is the bakery runs out of stuff by 1pm so you have to get in early. I like to sleep in!

michelle sokalofsky

Good donuts good pizza good coffee and they have beer!

norene wells

Oven fried pizza and craft beer PLUS BAKING!

You must stop here to get goodies. We purchased croissant sandwiches, donuts, a loaf ofgof multigrain bread to go, and scones/muffins. It was all delicious and we wish we lived closer to eat there more regularly. Top notch!

Tawnie van den Born

Awesome Lemon Bars but I found the glazed brioche donuts had an odd taste but this could have been from it being end of day. Would definitely give them a second chance when they were fresh in the AM

Cindy Xavier

Delicious, fresh baked breads and sweets. So yummy. I haven't tried their pizza's or sandwiches yet but that is on the list for my next trip!

Tried to sell us 5 hour old pizza slices for full price. Not impressed. The bread lacked flavour. Wouldn't recommend to families, as you may be feeding super old pizza to your kids without knowing it.

Pathy Gordillo

to be frank

Can’t say too much - everyone will show up and spoil it! Ha-ha. If you’re looking for a quaint bakery with a wood-fired pizza oven (awesome pizza sold by the slice), excellent coffee, sandwiches, patio… GO AWAY!

A fine establishment which elevates its surroundings. The pizza found here is nearly unparalleled by any other in the valley, while the pastries and breads compete fiercely for finest in the local vacinity. I must however turn a critical eye (or rather tongue) to their coffee, which is none too exciting. To be sure, it has an uplifting air and is certainly among the best businesses in Comox.

Larry Striemer

!Excellent pizza! Not bad pastries either ;>

Katrinna Louise

If you want a donut and can't get to Cumberland -- go here! Did you know you can also come here in the evening and order pizza AND beer! They are licensed! Their croissants are delicious -ham and cheese is always a winner. Coffee is great here too.

Love it here, great bread, great snacks, great service. The people who work here are so nice and accommodating and they remember you. Strangely though, their muffins are subpar. Crumbly and not very tasty. But everything else is A+

Kim Didierserre

Very busy and to much on the small side great product but constantly run out great service

Little disappointed in the amount toppings on my Carnivore (13 very small pieces of sausage) for $30. Taste is ok but was hoping for more a specialty/gourmet pizza vs what appears as "name brand" for the price :-(

Always a guaranteed happy place - a fave!

Pizza and baked goods are excellent. Unfortunately, I find ordering and paying is always a frustrating experience, and hope they can improve this to create a experience that matches the quality of the food.

Ralf Korus

Everything I have tried from here so far has been awesome.

Kathy Fentiman

Great.pizza and fabulous bread

Stuart Morley

Eveline Power

Bought a Copenhagen thinking it was fresh. When I started eating it I discovered that it had been in a cooler together with savoury goods so had taken on onion/garlic flavour and was stodgey instead of flaky. It was just an overly-sugary onion-flavoured cold carb square which I threw away. Their pizza might be good but I'll never chance them.

T BW

I take out of town guests to this bakery for pizza which never disappoints. The pizza is baked in a wood burning oven which adds to the flavour. I especially like their vegetarian pizzas with varying combinations such as artichoke, red peppers, olives, mushrooms. All the breads are delicious.

Jacke Smith

A great place that smells wonderful

Donuts are great old school treats. Bread is pretty good great pizza crust. They could improve their pizza sauce and toppings to match though

Jonathan Sugerman

Garry Mcleod

Wood fired pizza is addictive. Meat and spice Brooklyn is a go to. Carnivore is another must try. Pomodour needs spice or add something stronger like peppers. Artichoke hearts are the gift on this one.

Doug Young

We recently moved to Comox Valley and stumbled across this place. It is now a weekly visit of ours. Great food, and great service!! I would recommend it to anyone!!

Please don't share this information with anyone, I'd advise current customer's to keep it hush-hush. Because this place is destined to become more popular then it already is. It is easy to be convinced that the food here comes directly from the heaven's above . The delicious culinary treats offered at this bakery/pizza parlor/cafe can best be described as yummy/scrumptious/delightful. Try a classic pizza combo or one of the culinary masterpieces, by the pie or by the slice. Remember, you deserve to give yourself some treats, so make sure you buy a large bag or two of the heavenly bakery desserts, goods & bread's while you are there. Eat in or take out . The atmosphere is cute, cozy, comfortable. There is ample, though somewhat crowded seating, indoors. There is also outdoor seating, weather permitting. People behind the counter are friendly, helpful & extremely enthusiastic about the food (who can blame them). Solid FIVE STAR FOOD.

I gotta say I've being a loyal Caraway Rye customer of this Bakery for a long time now. However ,,, my last 3 loaves of Caraway Rye have been over baked to the point of extra crispy ... Call it burnt... and you know, I bought them anyway and took them home and ate them with great disappointment... so my policy is after three times I gotta say something. Pretty please, pull the Rye out of the oven a little bit sooner and I will remain a loyal customer.

Amanda Borland

Gotta get there early to get the good stuff

Love burnt pizza...Said no one ever!! This is the absolute last time i get pizza from this location they never ever get it right it's always burnt learn how to use that wood oven properly!!! Supper is ruined ????

Paul Salloum

I’m officially disgusted by the markup they charge on items that honestly are just average. Over the years I have repeatedly tried to give them opportunities to impress me but I continue walking out of there with a sense of bewilderment. It’s insulting, and all this mention around the till about tipping? My guilt over the wonderful server is my only reason to even consider it in the first place but my sense of reason takes over and I realize this is all a ruze. They get her to make you feel like you are doing them a service by ridiculously overpaying. I’m done falling for it. Now I only go there out of need, which is only a few times a year and I only get coffee. Charge what you like Church st but you’re not a welcome sight in my community and you won’t be getting my business anymore.

We ordered two pizzas (Margharita and Garlic Twist) and a couple of treats and coffee, over $65 total in price. The danish I had was amazing, but the chocolate donut was meh. The layer of chocolate on top was caked on and fell off in one piece when my partner bit into it. Flavour of the yeast donut itself was ok. I've definitely had better. The pizzas were just kind of average. The Margharita was below average: the crust had little flavour compared with what you would expect a wood fired pizza to have. Margharitas benefit from a flavourful long fermentation crust, light basil infused sauce and real fior di latte for richness. This Margharita had a heavily salted overly spicy (hot even) sauce, just bucketed on the pizza, (it was really thick) and tiny pieces of bocconcini (1 per slice), zero basil flavour, and a thick flavourless crust. It really shouldn't be called a Margharita. It was bread with gunky sauce. The Garlic Twist was better in balance of flavours but had the same spicy salty sauce on it, and obviously the same bland crust. They were too expensive of what they were. I would come back for the danishes and try some other treats, but that would be about it. Customer service: friendly but scattered, bordering on unprofessional, or maybe they are just young. The person behind the counter had to be reminded multiple times of the details of the order, forgot as soon as you told them, and forgot to make the coffee after we paid. It took an inordinate amount of time to get the order together and the covid line-up was forming outside. In the bakery itself, there were young employees looking like they didn't quite belong. One dressed in a blouse hacking away at some brittle, or something that seemed to be stuck to a tray, or trying to figure out how to cut it (?), another trying to help, and a third just standing about. It was a bit of a weird scene. I'm not sure they actually worked there or were hanging out with their buddies. When we returned to pick up the pizzas, we grabbed them off the counter, and another person passing by behind the counter abruptly and loudly asked "Did you pay for that??". "Umm yes", and response of "just checking" was received. Then just check your order receipts. I'm sure this place has a loyal following, but I'd get pizza elsewhere honestly.

Happened to be next door to another business I visited. Walked in and the beautiful aromas awakened my senses. Came for a coffee but left with some me baked good. What did you guys do to this banana bread?!?! I've never tasted anything like it - absolutely sensational. And the coffee is right there with the baking... Someone let me know of any real estate goes up for sale on the street cause I'm moving in! Pot shop right next door. What more do you want?!
