1st time and I found the patty to be very BIG in size and value. I found the secret is to heat the patty either in oven, air fryer or toaster oven. The pastry will be nice and crispy & fluffy. If you microwave, the pastry will come out tuff and a bit hard to chew. I found the to patty pastry was very thick and heavy overtaking the filling which seemed mildly spicy. Maybe it was the batch, but I wished there was more beef filling. Anyhow, these are BIG patties. Please, more filling, it would make them so much more enjoyable. Thanks

I’ve been here countless times. Always ordering patties for personal and work functions. I’ve referred countless people to this restaurant: family, friends, coworkers you name it. Sad to say I will no longer go there. I went there last week Wednesday around 11 am with my mom. I was unsure of if I had needed to place my order in advance for pick up like most restaurants are now doing. When I asked the lady at the counter. I got the most disrespectful response. You would have thought that I had said something offensive to her. Funny thing I was met by another rude lady before at the counter a while back but I just blew it off. But this time will sure be my last. I understand that we all have off days but I realized that some of the workers there are just unfriendly.

They have the best patties in town, the poor rating is for the lady working the counter. I finished working a night shift and noticed they opened at 8am. I called ahead to see if they had any warm patties ready. The woman who answered the phone stated she had no fresh nor frozen patties available for sale and that they'd be ready around 3-4pm. I know this is a lie because they serve them for lunch and frozen patties are always available. To the woman at the counter please fix your attitude, if it weren't for customers you'd be out of a job!

There should be the option of spicy and non-spicy, I am sure you would be able to see the sales detail and what if you notice 75% of your sales were non-spicy. Here visiting Montreal, just drove 25 mins just to have a party from this place. Lady at the counter very rude and almost resentful of doing her job. Maybe she doesn't care about how her customers react but I'm sure the owners will when someone actually takes the time to make it known how bad her attitude is. I have been here twice, only walked away with food once though. The first time I went here was around the 31st of August 2021. After seeing a 4.6* average review, I decided to drive from my work to Mr. Patty for lunch. I was unfamiliar with the menu, and with the sun shining in and reflecting against the plexy glass, I was having a hard time seeing the menus on the back wall. When the woman came out from the back, I very politely and cheerfully said "hello, how are you!?", to which the woman almost seemed annoyed by the greeting, and said "hi, what would you like.''' I could see written the menu, Jerk chicken, and asked if I could have a lb. of it. She immediately got rather annoyed, and said "that is only for the weekend, Friday and Saturday!". It was, as someone else has descried, a little awkward, so I apologized for the mistake, said it was my first time there, and preceded to try to see the rest of the menu. After about 20 seconds, she again became annoyed, presumably for having to wait, and said very condescendingly " Here, let's do this.. this menu is for the weekend, ok...and this menu you can order from" while swirling her right hand in front of each posted menu" .. I responded saying " yep.. I was reading the menu on the right..." Feeling a little pressured, I ordered two chicken patties, which she pulled out immediately, and then added that I would also like to have a chicken roti. As soon as I ordered the roti, again came the attitude. She got angry with me because I should have ordered the roti first, as it's more difficult than a patty. I was a little shocked as I can honestly say I have never been given sh*t for not ordering items in a specific order. As she was walking to the back, she clearly wasn't happy with my reaction, or lack thereof, so she repeated again I should have ordered the roti first, as it's more difficult than a patty, adding "understand?" and stood there glaring at me with an angry fake smile until I apologized again.. and said ok, I understand. When I returned to my office, and my coworkers asked about Mr. Patty after having finished my lunch, I joked, and said I almost wish the food was terrible, because now I am going have to go back to be abused some more by the rude angry woman, as it was absolutely delicious. Today, I decided I was ready for some more attitude and delicious food, so I returned. I walked in, and after waiting for a few moments I was "greeted" by the same woman. Once again, I very politely and cheerfully said "Hi, how are you!?". As was the case as last time, she was full of attitude, and could barely even muster up a " hi, good and you".. Remembering the lesson on how to order "correctly" from my first time there, I started with the roti, which she immediately responded " I have no food for you, you can have patties". I said "thank you, it's ok", and left. The patties I had a couple weeks back were good, the roti was delicious; the way I was treated and spoken to both times was terrible; what a shame

It seems like the classic trend of a business doing good gaining name and then cut down on their quality. The staff is friendly but the quality of the patties just gone. Normally patties should be filled with meat with a thin crust but seems like they got it the other way around lol. Authentic Jamaican food. Love their chicken patties! They've got things to make your mouth water like jerk and roties, and chicken soup when you need a bit of comfort food! Everything is fresh and made on site. There's a little seating area if you want to grab a bite while waiting for your order (1 table, 4 chairs I think?). Bring cash, they don't take cards. The building where it's located seems to always be under renovation, but you can't miss it, theirs is the door that keeps on opening!

They have been a staple of the community for several years now. Their food is normally very good. I was there today and had their chicken soup but was not pleased because I find for a Caribbean restaurant they needed more backbone to their soup. Meaning that the chefs needed more training. Please make your soup more thicker . Add a little more substance to it. I could have done better in my kitchen. When you are selling the patties please do not mix the stale and the fresh ones together. The patties are lovely but for a person who knows the difference between them that is a let down. Work on those issues. Everyone support you guys just as we should. We want to have Mr Patty around for many more years to come.

As a client who happily patronized this business on a frequent and regular basis, I'm revising my rating of this place based on the very poor, and classless service I received on my last, and now final, visit here, on Monday, December 7th, between 2 and 3pm. The woman who begrudgingly took my order was a disaster. Her entirely inexplicable, boorish behaviour was such that I left the business without retrieving my order. I simply refuse to support any commerce which treated me so poorly. The person I encountered should clearly be kept in a back room and not be permitted to deal with clients. As good as your patties are, if you have someone uncouth presenting them, you're undermining your endeavours, great though they obviously may be. So, to the owners I say, if you want to self-sabotage, then you are on the right track. While I have the floor, I'll add one last detail; Mr. Patty, please get an interac terminal to properly serve your clientele. Its 2020.

I went for the first time this Saturday after reading all the good reviews and friends recommendations and im upset I didn't discover this place earlier!! I bought a dozen of beef patties and I will be coming back for more every week, the filling its packed with flavors and the outside its so flaky and just a perfect combination! And the guy working there was super nice and i loved the vibe, definitely a must try ????????????????

Based on the quality of the food, Mr. Pattie deserves 5+ stars. Their service needs improvement. Lines are sometimes long but I can live with that. The quality of the food is worth the wait. The main issue is special orders. They don't seem to be tracked in a very efficient manner. I noticed at Christmas that people who had placed special orders were having problems. At that time, my order was ready. A special order must be placed for extra spicy patties and cocktail patties. I called yesterday and ordered 12 extra spicy regular sized patties and 6 extra spicy cocktail patties. My friend was going to pick them up first thing Saturday morning so I provided her name. My friend called first thing this morning and indicated that a major snow storm is forecasted for Friday night so she won't know until Saturday if she will make it in. I called the store and asked if it would be possible to change and arrange to pick up the order today. I was told the order would be ready in the next hour. It was a long wait for the bus and a long trip on a very rainy day. After that it was a walk. When I got to the store, the lady who works at the counter said that my order had been picked up already. I let her know this was not possible. Turns out someone else had ordered a dozen extra spicy regular sized patties and a dozen extra spicy cocktail patties and she had given her my order. Instead of apologizing, her attitude was there was nothing that could be done about it now. She was very unresponsive. Actually walked away when I was speaking with her. I asked to speak with the owner. She pointed to a table. He was sitting and relaxing with some customers. I expressed my concerns calmly. He was very lackadaisical. I pointed out that my mother and I have been customers for years and that his attitude was disappointing. I asked to speak with the person who had taken my order and he said he had no way of knowing that. I sat and had a pattie and Ting to calm down. I attempted to speak to him again. He kept walking away. He said "What do you expect me to do about it?" I said you could at least apologize and speak with your staff to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again. After all, I did give my name when the order was placed. What is the point of taking the name if you don't check that when the order is picked up." I try to avoid conflict but it deteriorated from there. Had he been apologetic and accepted my feedback, there would have been no reason to write this review. Unless there is an improvement in their ordering system, I would suggest finding another supplier for special orders. They are very disorganized and unresponsive.

However there seem to be issues whenever I place orders sometimes. I never order less than 2 or 3 dozen extra spicey beef and cocobread as well, but on several occasions when it was pick up it's missing the bread or something even though I called and place my order early this morning and got it confirmed.???????? I ordered 2 dozen extra spicy beef patties, 1 dozen mini patties ,1 large soup and 6 Coco bread this morning at 7:30 am (Friday 23) The gentleman who took the order confirm the order. When order was picked up we were told no Coco bread available. This happen on several occasions I am not happy at all . Before this I order 3 dozen spicy beef I got all chicken and called and spoke with some one about it and now this again. I don't like giving bad reviews because you have amazing food but something has to be done in order to assured that orders are respectively kept when placed.

Back from Jamaica, I was looking for real jamaican patties in Montreal. Mr Patty is THE place. Real, hand-made and spicy. They also roast delicious meats everyday. I tried the roasted pork. Melted in my mouth. Simple take-out restaurant. No foss. Just the real taste of Jamaica.

I have eaten a lot of chicken in my life, but the jerk chicken at Mr. Patty (only served on Saturdays!) is hands down the best chicken I have ever eaten in my life. I honestly didn't know chicken could taste that good. Thanks, Mr. Patty!

Best patties in Montreal in a very odd location. The patties are phenomenal and brought me back to my childhood. Cash-only. A choice of other Caribbean dishes served only on certain days, which I'm looking forward to trying. Friendly staff.

This place sells the most delicious tasting patties both beef ,vegetables,and chicken also jerk chicken cocoa bread and other Jamacian sweets however to make purchase.one has to get to the store early the fact that they are quite popular and their products are excellent .On my last visit only cash wad accepted I can't say if they have started accepting major credit cards I highly recommend their products but go early cause patties can be sold out very fast

Absolutely delicious everyday patties, coco bread, and hot Jamaican dishes (on Fridays and Saturdays). You can taste the heart that goes into the recipes. Very friendly service at this family-owned restaurant. Would 100% recommend!

Am honestly disappointed. In the past, their beef patties actually tasted like beef patties. Bought a patty and I felt like I was eating a bread crumb patty with little pieces of meat here and there. I don't know if they are attempting to save money by cutting down on the beef and increasing the portion of bread crumb but it shows in taste, texture and appearance. It looks very pale compared to how was before. Hope they go back to their old recipe.

Freshly made patties all throughout the day, dozens and party sizes available, also only takes them about 5-7 minutes to make a rotie on the spot, great selection of non domestic sodas as well. I love this place, I have been going here since I was a teenager and will continue to no matter where I may move to! Excellent service and friendly atmosphere combined with the quaint at home feel it gives you makes this for a great local landmark. They only have room for two 2 seater tables, so it's mostly a pick-up restaurant

This is my first time ever writing a review because I am deeply disappointed. Every time that I try to order a few dozen patties, I get attitude and it is very uncomfortable because it is as if I am begging to make an order. They make you feel as though you are bothering them. I have been extremely polite even when I get attitude. To make matters worse, when I go to pick up my order they respond by saying it is not going to happen….it is as though they are doing me a favour by buying their product. I do the groceries for few families I know that have a difficult time and they always ask for me to get some patties. If it was not for me trying to help them, I would not even bother putting myself through that type of humiliation..

Excellent Jamaican take out food. Amazing patties. My only complaint is the disposition of the young man at the cash. He needs an attitude adjustment if he is to be working with the public. He's the one that people see and represents your establishment. Not a good image but at least the food is pleasant....
