Curly Kale Eatery is one of our favourite dining and food experiences of all time. Every detail of the food is creative, love filled and scrumptious perfection. The eclectic vibe of the eatery is just icing on the cake. The staff, owner and cook are kind and personable. We joke that we would love to eat here every day of our lives and it takes some serious will power to drive by when we're in town without stopping for a bite to eat! Couldn't recommend more. We're obsessed.
Super friendly service. Great food. Local fair. You wont be disappointed.
Unbelievable food. Everything made from scratch. The drink choices are awesome (london fog a personal favorite). Price is right, and they have fresh bread made daily to purchase.
The new restaurant is really beautiful! I love the colors and clean lines. Such a great addition to Garrison crossing. The food is fresh and it's obvious they care about the quality ????????
Awesome food, excellent service and clean an inviting environment, staff always greet with a warm smile. Highly recommend if this is your first visit to the Fraser Valley, never been disappointed with the valve or quality. Cheers
Amazing little breakfast and lunch cafe in Chilliwack! Stumbled upon Curly Kale and I was so delighted with the menu option to create my own breakfast (being lactose intolerant and I don't prefer to eat bread for breakfast either) I enjoyed the beef brisket, kale & mushrooms, 2 eggs, fruit salad and a herbal tea. Excellent service as well. I will be back on my way through town again! Vegan treats, dairy free & gluten free options.
We have never had a bad meal at this fabulous eatery! Everything is fresh and local! It's definitely one of a kind
Amazing food! Great people! Love their values and in line with what we believe in; local, fresh and organic! Highly recommend!
Wonderful good n decent prices
One of the BEST burger and soup I've ever had recently! Menu changed frequently, all dishes are made with local ingredients, really creative and delicious. Nice staff. definitely recommend!
Ah-ma-zing! Fresh local food, so delicious and even the coffee is delicious. Highly recommend it!
Had such a lovely breakfast, comfortable environment, great service. Definitely recommend it and will be back soon
Local food, that is made with care. Always a great experience. Good portion size but higher end price range, well worth it in my opinion.
I enjoy the atmosphere, service and menu choices. I was there a couple of times and am not disappointed
Delicious food (duck confit burger, italian benedict and perogies), hot beverages (dark chocolate mocha and manchester fog) and perfect balance of crunchy and chewy nutella-filled cookie with safe practice of socially distanced tables.
Looove the coffee, I’m a big dark roast fan. Exceptional donuts, service and food. They use only locally farm sourced ingredients, very friendly staff!
Went for our first time this last week. Amazing Fresh sandwich and soup. The best! We'll definitely go again
Food is always delicious and all locally sourced and sustainable. Coffee and espresso drinks are great, and you can leave with a loaf of their amazing fresh baked bread.
The food was delicious and the staff was very helpful. This experience makes me want to move to Chilliwack right away. I'm already planning my next meal there. The ingredients are organic, and their kombucha is very nice and refreshing.
Support locals. The food is amazing and the service is great!!!!
Food was delicious. The freshly made bread was my fave. :) Their service was awesome.. friendly and quick. Highly recommend
Great service, concept and coffee. The duck confit burger was perfect. The salmon bannock was a little salty. Overall, will definitely come back again :)!
Vibrant local and seasonal produce, their own pickled veggies, fresh baked bread and thoughtful mouth watering flavour combinations make every dish on the menu a standout. The sandwiches are all out of this world, and their soups are legendary, but no matter what you try, you're going to love it. We've been going here for years - and every visit leaves us happy and satisfied. Healthy, local, seasonal food is a great conscientious choice, and you can feel good about eating local and supporting local, but at the end of the day it's the outstandingly delicious meals that will bring you back again! Since the fare is local and seasonal, you might not be able to get your favorite all year round, but rest assured that their creations are always phenomenal. Cheers Curly Kale, see you again soon!
The food is always fresh and tasty. The staff are friendly and efficient. And the freshly baked goods are absolutely delicious!
This place has amazing food. They served their homemade bread with homemade kiwi jam. Everything is sourced locally, even the coffee. A real jem
Very cute place inside. The food is delicious but the service is terrible. Don't dine here if you want a quick meal or even a regular length meal. You have to wait forever for the bill and the staff seem very unaware of anything in the establishment. Which is sad because the idea of the place is wonderful and the food delicious!
Fanstastic food and coffee! Service was awesome too
This place is outstanding. I avoided it for a long time, due to the name. I had visions of everything containing kale, quinoa, and imitation meat. This was a mistake. Upon entering, I found it to look pretty much as expected for a place named "Curly Kale". Simple, rustic and pretty basic, but in a good way. On my first visit, in the summer, I had an elote and a duck burger. Both were top-notch, but after talking to the owner, I realized I should have ordered the cubano. The next time I visited (the following day), I went with the cubano. It is insane. I honestly considered ordering a second. I can't even comment on the rest of the food as I've only ordered the cubano since. At the counter, they sell fresh-made bread and assorted treats. All of which are probably the best you'll find in town. If you're in the mood for a delicious lunch, drive right past that other sandwich shop just down Vedder and go here. The cubano at Curly Kale is to Bubba's cubano what NHL is to peewee. It's in a completely different league.
All local ingredients and healthy made from Scratch. Lucky to have a place like this in the wack
Wonderful food and I love that everything is locally sourced. One of my favorite choices for lunch. I just wish they were open some evenings too!
Delicious! You can tell the food is made fresh and quite quickly as well! Our table had the vegetarian breakfast bowl, French toast, Specca Sandwich and Chicken Kale Caesar Wrap. All plates were polished off. If you’re just wanting a quick coffee without the food, they’re coffee bar is also great! Will be making another stop in the future when we’re in the area post-hike again!
Delicious, local produce, creative, affordable.... a fabulous cuisine experience!
Always good food and great service. Worth a visit.
Delicious breakfast! We will be back! Friendly staff and amazing food.
Amazing quality food, all homemade. Virtually all local ingredients... A real taste of the Fraser Valley
We went in for breakfast today. It was my first time here and I will definitely be back. Wholesome, delicious food for a reasonable price and friendly service. Choose local and eat here. You won’t be disappointed!
Amazing little gem. Great food and service. A bit more on the pricey side but well worth it.
Great food! Fresh baked bread and treats also. Friendly staff
We had the pancakes and breakfast sandwich. The cooks put great time and effort into the food and it’s tasty! We also enjoyed our hot drinks!
Such a great place to go for lunch! We always love our meals here and are never disappointed. The Cubano sandwich is to die for and the soups are always amazing. Great service as well!
The soup was amazing, and the environment very friendly. I can't wait until my mouth heals and I can try their solid food!!!
The service was prompt and very attentive. The food was DELICIOUS. You will be happy with this place and go back.
Always enjoy the great food, and the staff are all friendly/attentive!
Fantastic service and delicious food!
Great food! I had the Buddha style bowl and it was delicious. Nice desserts as well and decent prices
Very delicious selection, will come back again
Amazing breakfast place! We were camping at cultus lake and decided to go for breakfast a rainy morning. It’s not a far drive and worth it! Food is absolutely amazing, you can taste the quality! The coffee (which was very much needed) is delicious too! Great place for kids as well! We would definitely return if we camp at Cultus again!
Fantastic place, super cute. Great food!
Had the Breakfast Perogy bowl and my wife had the vegan panini they were both amazing. And the home made ketchup and hot sauce are very good. Thank you.
Excellent food! We finally decided to check it out and went for breakfast this morning. Nothing and I mean NOTHING had "the usual flavor". Eggs...Beautiful dark orange yolks... Sausages... Not greasy salty and rich like most, the meat had wonderful flavor... the maple syrup... real maple and tasted like the more expensive darker syrup... the coffee so good hubby didn't even need cream and sugar (and he's a double double kinda guy). I loved that the menu was not full of the usual things too. Who would expect a duck confit dish on a breakfast menu? BTW its delicious! My only regret is that we hadn't tried this place sooner!
Loved Loved Loved it!!!!! Most amazing breakfast I have had in quite some time. Not to mention that the vision of the Curly Kale is supporting locally farm sourced ingredients and ethically raised meat- BONUS in my books!!! I will be coming back again when in town and referring people I know. Thank you so much for an awesome experience....oh and plus the coffee is to die for!!!
Didn't know too much about this place going in but was pleasantly surprised by the country vibes and natural/organic food items and menu. As you would expect, it's a little pricier than the typical cafe/eatery but you really do get what you pay for in terms of better, tastier ingredients.
Delicious!
Oh wow ???? what a pleasant surprise! A simple healthy locally sourced breakfast, with good coffee and very pleasant servers.
Good food. Good atmosphere. Good service. What else do you need? :)
Love the turkey panini! The cherry celery salad was the best ever, and the tomato fennel soup was so yummy. I would eat it all over again.
I’ve been frequenting The Curly Kale for a number of years now and have always found their food to be genuinely great. If I’m introducing a new person to the area and want to show them some great local restaurants or cafes, Curly Kale is ALWAYS near the top of my list and rarely disappoints. The passion of the owners is clear to see from the quality of their food and coffee, and so often have I found the service to be kind and prompt. The location is such a shame for a restaurant as cute as this one and I can see the struggle due to constant road works and other things during the years that have put a strain on the business. The Curly Kale deserves your support based on their food alone, I suppose my heart wish for them would be to see them find a more easily accessible location with a more suitable surrounding for their vibes in the future. They deserve that much at least. Get the Kale Chicken Caesar Wrap when you go, it’s banging and I order it literally every time.
This would be a five star haunt if not for the price. I thought $20 for lunch was a bit expensive (soup + sandwich + pop). Even so, I will absolutely return again. The food was delicious and fresh, and they really promote the local food producers in the area - I love that. The place was very busy the whole time I was there. I wouldn't call the service slow, but I would call it laid back! I didn't mind it. Since the decor and ambiance are so lovely, I enjoyed taking it all in while we waited for food. There is also a bakery on site - Magpie. All of the bread on the menu comes from there, plus they have a baking schedule so you know when to come in and buy your favourites!
Great place to go before shuttle days at Vedder!
Delicious, creative local eats. Reasonable prices friendly staff nice atmosphere.
This is one of the best places to eat in Chilliwack. Wether you want a meal, a snack, or even a loaf of bread for later, only good eats here. And the staff are super friendly!! 10/10 would recommend!
Cute little bakery serving delicious meal. Their duck confit sandwich is unbeatable! Super friendly service. Worth the stop on the way to Cultus Lake.
Always great food. Healthy & delicious. I would recommend to anyone. Go check it out. Wish I had taken a photo to show everyone
I've never had a meal here that wasn't perfect and fresh, and delicous.
This is an amazing place to grab lunch. Food is always delicious, staff is pleasant and served quickly. If you haven’t been here yet your missing out!
AMAZING menu. Locally sourced foods and even homemade ketchup!
Hands down, the best food in town. Fresh, local ingredients make this place a true gem. You’re not only supporting a local eatery by dining here, but local farmers, coffee roasters, butchers, and more. To top it off, the staff are amazing and treat you like family! We love eating here!
Went for lunch this week and had the Italian Benedict with a latte. Super nice, cute little store, great menu, friendly staff and quick service. Everyone at the table had meals that looked very good an noone was upset by their order! Heading back for brunch again and I'm sure the curly kale will be part of our normal rotation now.
Incredible place to eat, relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The food is beyond delicious, staff are friendly and amazingly wonderful.
We were staying at the hotel and decided to do the American Thanksgiving dinner that was three courses. The ginger squash soup was delicious-very creamy though no ginger taste that was noticeable (disappointing as I love ginger) but was still excellent. The turkey dinner included white and dark meat, bread pudding, vegetables and whipped potatoes. They offered cranberry relish as well. Everything was good.
Ok food good service
Had soup - was ok with delicious buttered grainy bread, and salad which was good.
Definitely the best food in the Fraser Valley.
Very unfriendly service. We were visiting family in town and 6 of us went for lunch including 3 hungry young children. Rather than try and accommodate us they refused to move tables (despite an 1/2 full restaurant) or allow us to sit and order and move to a larger table when it came free. We left and went to earls. So much for supporting a local business.
Friendly staff and amazing fresh food.
Went today for first time. Such a peaceful place and the food was so fresh and amazing.. my best breakfast place in chilliwack now????
Amazing food! Had the Tuscan Bennie and best I have ever had. I will be back and recommend to others!????
Great food! Great service! They make almost everything from scratch! Love the hot sauce! The fried chicken and smoked meat is delicious.
Everything is homemade! Service is great; food, tea & coffee are delicious. We enjoyed our experience immensely. :)
Enjoying a local experience with class.
Keep going standing up for the rights of others is beautiful
Duck confit! Any of the grilled sandwiches! Wonderful with a capital W!! Oh, and very friendly and enthusiastic staff. Small family business, and they are really into making and serving healthy, delicious meals.
Finally went for the first time... LOVED IT! best meal I've eaten all month. Fresh food, great menu and wonderful service. Can't wait to go back!
Outstanding local eatery! A favourite for breakfast, and just experienced a lunch there for the first time. Delicious food, attention to detail, clean, friendly service and AMAZING coffee.
Let me go 3 days before Christmas. Obviously used me for the holiday season because my 3 month probation was up in just a few days. Told me they were making cut backs because their dinners were not doing so well and that I was the last one hired so they had to let me go. Stacy had even led me to believe there were more hours coming in the New Year. I had an interview for a second job which I let go because I was told this. I was sad to be let go but I understand it's a small business. I asked for a reference and they had no problem giving me one until I asked for that in a letter so I could attach it to my resume while I was job hunting. Big mistake on my part to ask for that.... Stacy lead me to believe they would give me one and kept telling me how sorry they were that they had to let me go. I just received a long email from Stacy telling me she doesn't have time to write me a reference letter and that they're an "out dated" practice and proceeds to list so many petty reasons as to why they are letting me go. Never once during the 3 months did anyone communicate any problems to me. Really shady and sad because I did enjoy working for them and didn't think there was any issues at all. I was a good employee, kind, respectful, reliable. I stayed extra hours for their catering/dinner events, and even went in off the clock to help decorate the place for Christmas. Really sucks when you go the extra mile for the people you're working for only to be crapped on in the end. I will say and this is not to be malicious watch your salad because I got a giant Caterpillar in mine once. Also I feel it should be known Stacy/Mike (the owners) take % of tips. UPDATE: I just received my final cheque from Stacy/Mike. They weren't going to even pay me until the new year until I let them know that they were suppose to pay me within 48 hours of termination. When I went to pick it up they threaten to call the cops on me unless I removed this post... which I refuse to do because it is all true and is my experience working/eating at The Curly Kale. Stacy showed her true colors and was real nasty to me... she held out my cheque and when I went to take it she wouldn't let me have it and kept it clutched in her hand and waving it around anytime I tried to take it. I had to ask numerous times for her to give me my cheque so I could leave all while Mike (the chef) was yelling at me and threatening me. All of this is on Christmas Eve. Really sad and unprofessional. Not how I wanted to end my employment here. :(
Luckily for me my server was kind enough to ask the kitchen to make modifications for me (no cheese/egg/sub kale). My veggie breakfast bowl was quite good, the mushrooms they use are excellent and the accompanying toast was fantastic. My partner in dining had the Mexican breakfast burrito it was reported as good as well, large portion.
Excellent food and service
Best egg salad sandwich ever!! People are friendly, the place is lovely and the prices are very reasonable, specially because the food is amazing
Great place to eat
Husband had chicken cordon blue burger it was excellent. I had the ham cheese sandwich it was awesome. Good service good food
Went with my friend as a first timer and it exceeded my expectations, cleanliness, wearing masks so Covid responsible, very friendly staff, Nice and warm ambiance. Farm to table, homemade bread so exception quality overall.... Will definitely be back, highly recommend!!!
Food is stunning, the bread is mind blowing, I mean seriously that focaccia, it makes all others taste weak
Great food. Great service. Organic, locally farmed ingredients.
Great stop. Food was presented well, with lots of flavor. Well priced, super staff.
My husband and I really enjoy this restaurant, one of the reasons being that all of their food is locally sourced. Yes it is more pricey and the portions are not huge, but if you can get past that mindset that more is better, this place is awesome. However, I was kind of shocked by our visit the other day during Covid restrictions. Their normal capacity is 50 and I think they are down to 23 now. The tables are very evenly spaced out and the whole ordering procedure is different in that when you walk in the door, the menu is posted right on the wall and you order right there at the entrance way through a kind of a pass-through window. Can you go into the restaurant and take a seat and when your meal is ready, it is put onto the counter in the dining room and you go and pick it up according to your number. That was all good. However, the girl who was taking her order at the front window was standing approximately 2 feet away from my husband who was ordering, she was not wearing a mask, there was no plexiglass between them, and it kind of derailed all of the other Covid protocol that they were following in my opinion. I don’t normally say something that might embarrass a young worker but I did kindly say “I’m kind of surprised that there’s no kind of a barrier and that you’re not wearing a mask. All of your other Covid protocols seem to be in place but you are too close to the customers!” She sheepishly said that she had forgotten her mask that day and there was no plexiglass because it was too hard to hear the customers with all of the street noise and that it was expensive......not good reasons at all! When we were seated, I could see that the other waitress was also not wearing a mask. I did see the chef bring some other peoples food out and I cannot remember whether he had a mask on or not. They came around and served us coffee refills also unmasked. My husband wasn’t too worried about it but I just felt like if a restaurant is going to go to all those measures to keep things safe, why wouldn’t they do the one basic thing that you’re supposed to do? If the food wasn’t so darn good, I probably would’ve left.
Amazing food, really good service and friendly staff. Can’t beat the farm to table food! . I could eat at this place 7 days a week ????????????
Such a cute restaurant! Everything is made in house with locally grown ingredients, reasonably priced and delicious!
What an amazing spot. Very good foot and service.
A quaint little cafe that packs a big punch. They have an amazing breakfast menu and friendly staff. Kid friendly, and great variety in the kids menu.
Hold onto your hats Chilliwack! This place has possibly the best fried chicken sandwich in Chilliwack! Fresh bun, crispy chicken, coleslaw, jalapeños, amazing! Don’t believe us? Go and order one and see for yourself!
