First of all the owner peter picks on kids and isn't a great guy second me and my grandpa went in and ordered a pop and a coffee to drink then we waited for 10 minutes for them and we didn't get them and JUST as we were leaving she wanted to take our order then. And she asked why we were leaving and we told her we saw her texting and gossiping then we left. If the manager or owner is reading this we were at table 18 from 3:40 pm to 4:00 pm the waitress was of middle eastern decent

Went for breakfast on a Saturday. There had been a snowfall the night before. Parking lot was full of tractors! The men had plowed all night and stopped for breakfast. Couldnt ask for a better recommendation. Staff were friendly and food was quick and plentiful.

The BEST diner in all of PEI!!! Prices are AMAZINGLY cheap, with plentiful home-made food to boot!! The line to get in at times may be long, but it is well worth the wait!! Service is accurate and FAST, with friendly staff and a delightfully cozy atmosphere within Sherwood and only 5 minutes from the downtown core! Breakfast served all day, with daily specials and fast take-out!! If you're an islander or "from away", you need to go here for a meal!

We are foodies, we are on our bucket list vacation, we have a friend who recommended this place to us who now lives here, well I tell you it was simple but effective, they have specials every day, we were there on Wednesday, corn beef was the special, the wife had it, there was so much she couldn't eat it all, well I just had sausage and eggs, so I was still a little hungry, I helped her finish hers, it was fantastic, she & I both loved it, then I had home made coconut cream pie for dessert, it was great as well. The staff were wondering, a bit overwhelmed, as it was the lunch rush, & there was a line up outside, & it was raining, people like us seemed genuinely satisfied with the meals, as they're eating & then leaving as were we, way to go, highly recommended, you won't leave here hungry.

An amazing classic diner experience in a modern restaurant setting. Because of the excellent meal and service we had the 1st time we went, we ended up back there the next day to do it all again! The portions are very generous, the service is impeccable and the bottomless tea/coffee is welcome. Other than the High Wheeler Deli in Baddeck, NS, I can't think of any other establishment which offers free refills on tea. They keep a fresh pot brewing all the time, so you are getting a nice strong cup on every pour. If you go there for breakfast, make sure to order the sausage with your meal (if you like sausages). I don't know who is their supplier, but they are delicious. All of the desserts are baked in house, so make sure to try their cinnamon rolls.

disgusting. staff was beyond rude. i have pictures of old eggs on our fork. also have pictures of other peoples coffee stains on my coffee cup they brought me. when we told staff about she so rudely gave us a look and asled if we wanted new ones. we're like well ya and she gave us a rude look and snarled as she walked away. very disappointed and will never return and i will say bad things about it.

Simply blows my mind the amount of positive reviews, but that's "nice" lslanders for you. It was my first foray back into this establishment after a 7 year boycott, thinking new ownership would have changed a few things was correct. Now, the food is bad, on top of the poor service. I feel like writing a list but what's the point. I can honestly say l will never darken the doors of this place ever again. Unbelievable to me that ppl can overlook the service because the food is cheap. Real a big fan of paying your bill at the cash too, who knows what l was charged for but was a $40 lesson. Only wish there was half or zero star rating.

This place is a Charlottetown (Sherwood) staple. Maid's has had pretty much the same menu for 20 years. Everytime I'm on PEI I get super nostalgic for the dinner. It's the epitome of a local diner, and it's kinda nice knowing that it'll be the same in another decade as long as it doesn't burn down again, but hell they'll probably just rebuild on the other side of the parking lot anyway.

If you happen to find yourself hungry in Charlottetown, NS, then you MUST make your way to this un-assuming diner. My GF rated their Lobster Roll a 10 out of 10. She is a lobster roll connisuer, having eaten several throughout the North American continent. The staff are friendly and affable. They even picked up one of my southern colloquialisms and used it as I departed. (They need to work on their southern drawl though.) The accompanying sides were generous and equally tasty. If I happen to travel back into this area, you csn bet your bottom dollar, I will be eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner, at Maid Marian's Diner!

Dissatisfied. I suggest you serve fully cooked chicken surrounded the rest of a hot meal. Not food sitting in warming trays under the heat lamp. I have lived on this island all 50 years and Maid Marion's has always employed wonderful staff. However my mother, myself and my father a chef. I'm Just happy my dad noticed that the chicken strips that were on my plate were completely raw inside the batter was given a chance to crisp lightly. My father's cornbeef And cabbage plat of food was cold like when you take leftovers from the fridge at home.my mother same issue with her food as well cold food, not even warm. cold. I'm not pleased with the food anyone at our table received. However I am delighted that my dad realized before I had eaten my meal and ended up sick. we enjoyed the Waitress she was lovely . We never were offered to have a replacement plate of food none of us and not even a attempt to reduce the price although it was all on the plates unfit for consumption . seriously I usually don't complain. Normally I just pay leave and never return. I was so shocked and truly very dissatisfied with how our family was treated especially since we were polite and respectful enough to pay for three meals that were unfit to consume without becoming rude or making a scene. This makes me very sad I loved going to Maid Marion's since I was a little girl that was our traditional meal when we get together.

Maid Marines has been around for years and every time we go for a meal there's a line of people usually waiting to get inside to dine. There's a real good reason for this though. The food is delicious, plates are full of hot food, served within minutes, big pieces of homemade pies for dessert, lots of seating and the staff are friendly and speedy. Try it out next time your in Charlottetown.....That's if there's no waiting line.

We have a Saturday morning family tradition at Maid's. They offer simple but delicious food. The atmosphere is also simple - it's a diner after all - which is perfect as far as I'm concerned. But you know, it's the staff that make the place extra-special. When you go, expect to wait for a booth but your patience will be rewarded.

Had the worst worst worst experience here the other Sunday. It used to be our go to place for dinner after church but having a problem with seating when we called ahead and were told our large family had tables only to find out otherwise once arriving was very upsetting. My husband got very upset and when he had let it alone then they sent out a manager to bring it all up again while a staff member who didn't even have anything to do with it kept muttering under her breathe everytome she walked past my kids table. I have to say that the service isn't the same and maybe it was a one off but its a permanent one off for me and my family.

Was just ok for breakfast. Everything was hot and to spec for a typical Canadian breakfast. Serving size was medium. The lineups can be a tad overwhelming as the entry isn’t that big. Def popular with the locals so go early. Food was served promptly however the price was a tad on the higher side due to the included beverage. I did love the themed menu with the restaurant name. Ps try the cinnamon buns.

In May of this year, I spent a week visiting a relative who was in an institution. I stayed at a little motel that didn't have a restaurant. I asked where I could get breakfast and they recommended your dinner. I had breakfast there every day. The food was delicious and the prices were good. I started picking up a piece of your coconut cream pie every day. Absolutely awesome. I'm planning to visit again next year so I will be back.

If you like CINNAMON ROLLS, you haven't lived until you try Maid Marian's. I'm very sure they use a "quick bread" type recipe (as opposed to a brioche or yeast dough), but how they get them so melt-in-your-mouth moist, without it being a leavened dough, is a mystery to me! Perfect texture and taste, with the right amount of cinnamon, sugar and butter, from the inside of the roll all the way to the outside! Delicious!

Maid Marian's is a local fixture and for good reason. The menu hasn't changed (nor have the prices, that I can recall) in the 20 years I've been going there. And it's been around longer than that! The food is diner. Eggs, bacon, burgers, chicken tenders, and that type of fare. But he's what sets Maid's apart: consistency of fare and SERVICE. Every single server and attendant could teach a masterclass on how restaurant front of house teams should work. They all pitch in to clear tables and every one of them has a smile and an offer of coffee whether you're seated in their section or not. Maid's is not going to wow you with their menu, but they're going to blow your socks off with their service and pricing. The place is always busy at breakfast and lunch, but don't expect a huge wait as tables turn over quickly. If you want to get a true island experience (not a touristy one), drop in for coffee and a bite at Maid Marian's. And if you own a restaurant, consider taking your staff there to watch how real pros work together in the busiest diner on the island.

Be prepared to wait to get a table, but the staff move quickly to get people seated. There's generally a lineup, but that goes to show people are willing to wait to eat here. Food is great, and prices are excellent. I'd like to specifically mention our server, Maria. She was absolutely wonderful. They were quite busy and we didn't want to take up a lot of her time but she was very personable. She should definitely be commended for her customer service. A great example of how a server should be.

Breakfast was a flop. I was so excited for corned beef hash. Looked great when it arrived. Taste was not the best. They used frozen cheap hash browns and they weren't cooked so they still had that freezer taste . Beef was big chunks and would have gotten caramelized if it had been broken down. Scrambled eggs were hard and rubbery as if they were sitting premade and warming in a pan. Had to flag a waitress down to get our bill as they were really busy but the staff was super friendly.

A classic. Its super fast, super affordable. You're going to have a server who's quick as a whip, who will assume you don't even need a menu. Its a breakfast spot but they do offer a few other items! Honestly, you might get the odd snag with your food. Let the servers know and they're quick to solve it. My sister got cold bacon- only took a second to get it replaced and our buddy got to keep the cold stuff. You're getting what you pay for, so keep in mind the low price point means some patience is required.

It may not be the biggest menu that you have ever seen, but it is awesome. Great breakfast menu, and for lunch, sandwiches and Burgers Galore! I have been going to this place since I was a kid and I always recommend it.

Went Saturday morning ~10AM. Small wait. Had Eggs Benny that is available Saturday mornings. Hollandaise is great, on a light and fluffy English Muffin. Not given a meat option but the ham is fine. Eggs were unfortunately a bit overdone. One came out medium and the other was well done, which meant the yolk was a bit dry and pasty. I had ordered runny. Had a cinnamon roll which was ENORMOUS and delicious. Servers here are very kind and helpful. They work hard, treat them well. I used to go as a child and this may have even been a better visit from Memory Lane.

Maid Marian's has been one of my favorite restaurants for years. It's nice to see even though ownership changed hands that the quality is kept the same. The staff always greet you with a big smile. If you're looking for a good meal for reasonable price maid Marian's is the place to go. We are here when I took my daughter to college over the weekend. Discovered it when doing a Google search for places to eat nearby. Before I even talk about the food I want to mention the service. There was a line up out the door, which we expected during the pandemic at dinner hour. What we didn't expect was how efficient the staff was. The line moved quickly while still maintaining covid protocols. The staff worked like a well oiled machine. Once we were seated I had a chance to watch the staff while we waited and it's very obvious they take pride in their job and work well together. No one missed a beat. From the wait-staff to the kitchen staff, everyone worked with precision timing and was very aware of everything going on around them. Also I was very happy to see every time a take out order came up, the wait staff would make sure to check each container to ensure the customers had the right order. Hats off to all the amazing staff! Now on to the food... It. Was. Amazing! There were 4 of us in my party and we ended up paying much less than we would have for the same meals in most restaurants I've been to in Nova Scotia. I had the 2 piece fish and chips. The fish was cooked perfectly, fries were nice and crispy and the plate of food was huge! Not to mention it comes with a GIANT biscuit that could feed an entire family I'm sure. Everyone in my party loved their meals and we all had plenty to take home for later. My mom also had the cinnamon bun which I believe took her 3 days to eat as it was so huge! We definitely enjoyed our experience and can guarantee that next time I'm in PEI I'll be eating there again!

On a positive start the food is cheap and tastes fair. However the service is bad, a wait staff that obviously doesn't want to be there, or really help you. Asking for something as simple as a glass of water is met with angered looks, or being told there is no highchair for your toddler, even though you can see them in a corner, because they don't want the hassle of getting one. Grumpy staff makes for poor dining, will not be coming back

The food AMAZING but the service was horrible. My daughter asked for a Pepsi and the Male server said no problem. When I asked for the same thing, the female server said they only had Coke products. Nobody checked on us to see if we needed refills or if we wanted desserts. My daughter had to ask for takeout trays, which nobody provided. FINALLY ... 25 minutes later my wife paid and then we got our trays. I have worked in a restaurant and I understand what it is like when it is busy. You don't lie to your patrons.

Big portions. All the food here is homemade. We enjoyed our meals. When we arrived we were seated and given a menu. The menu had all the info that we needed to make our meal choices. Here's the thing, at this place the menu's are well used and very dated. As a result i found myself expecting the food to be subpar. I was pleasantly surprised. The desserts, also homemade were really very good.

We enjoyed our meal at this diner. It was recommended by a resident of the area with whom we struck up a conversation. Food was plentiful and delicious! We had their roast beef special. It is a very busy spot as the meals are inexpensive and the service is very good. Parking can be tight, but we'd try it again if we were every in the area. Breakfast choice expensive for basic 2 eggs and meat. Scrambled eggs - plenty but I suspect were powdered. Sausage - 2 large links but not a lot of flavour. Balogna was another option as well as bacon. Eggs over were good. Service was excellent, fast and friendly. Good choice for fast, simple breakfast, but nothing special. I'd likely avoid going back given a choice.

The food is an excellent value for a diner. The service is extremely fast, but staff are generally inattentive once you've received your order. Expect to have to flag someone down for coffee refills. Tables can remain messy for minutes and in a very busy diner, that's a big no no. Turnaround times make all the difference. Portions are large enough and ingredient quality is adequate for the value. It's heavily patronized by regulars which can only be a good sign.

Dirty Dirty Dirty Rude customer service when we first showed up to wait in line, finally got seated and our forks had old food on them and got our coffee and it had old coffee all over the cup. We asked for new stuff and showed them but we got attitude and rudeness again. So yes we left, we're not feeding our kids at a dirty place. We go out to our truck to be followed by the first older lady who gave us attitude and she was yelling, in front of our kids , telling us we need help ... All because we refuse to eat at a dirty restaurant who gives us attitude. Our 7 year old daughter said they don't make people feel welcome. Some bad when it comes from a child. This was one of the best decisions we made. It was diner food at it's best. They didn't care that we had six children between is or that one was far beyond tired and cranky and under the table. Good diner food. Very rushed. But you can’t beat the prices.

Great classic diner very friendly and kid friendly. The milkshakes are old school and delicious. I use to work at a 50s diner and this is not quite the same but definitely the next best thing
