Foodland is a great place to buy groceries! We buy a lot of groceries used for indian food, and occasionally Foodland gets some of these groceries. They are also open to ordering new stuff - Ask for Jodie the grocery manager, and she'll help order anything you could imagine! If you buy chicken here, make sure to cook it within 24 hours, otherwise it may go bad. Also the bakery will take orders for bread - just stop by, let them know what you want, how many you want, and when you want to pick it up. They will reserve it until you pick up. Pro-tip: they stock their shelves with new produce and products every Thursday morning. For the freshest groceries and widest selection, go on Thursday before 11am!

(Translated) THE local supermarket! I was there in mid-August 2017 after visiting the island of Newfoundland along the coast, from Anse-aux-Meadows to Port-aux-Basques, passing by the magnificent Gros- Dismal. FOODLAND is the Atlantic chain of IGAs. You can find everything you want there, including homemade meals. As I had a microwave at the St-Christopher's hotel and the restaurants around the hotel were poorly rated, so I chose this type of food. I did not regret it. It was really good. J'y étais vers la mi-août 2017 après avoir visité l'île de Terre-Neuve le long de la côte, de l'Anse-aux-Meadows à Port-aux-Basques, en passant par le magnifique parc du Gros-Morne. FOODLAND est la chaîne atlantique des IGA. On y trouve tout ce qu'on veut, incluant des mets préparés maison. Comme j'avais un microonde à l'hôtel St-Christopher's et que les restaurants autour de l'hôtel étaient mal notés, j'ai donc choisi ce type de mets. Je ne l'ai pas regretté. C'était vraiment bien.

The customer service here is amazing, its clean and well kept. I shopped here for the couple weeks I visited Nfdl and found the cashiers super nice and the food pretty fresh. The only downside is the price of food, it's very exspensive. But considering everything needs to be shipped over I can see why the prices are what they are. I think they should use more local food in the grocery store to cut down on the importing costs. Overall it's nice to have the mall attached to the grocery store and also the liquor store too. All in one shop.
