We have been to Sunny Day Cafe at least 10 times in the last three months. We love the restaurant. It is a family run business. The food is great; it is all baked in house. The menu is varied. This restaurant is our to go place when we have out of town guests. Try the turkey sandwich, and take home a loaf of homemade bread and cinnamon buns.

Friendly and exciting atmosphere and decor. The price for the German pancakes was way too high, and our food took over half an hour to be brought out, but it was a fairly pleasant place otherwise.

My sister & Father, have been trying to get here to eat! But Bless his soul he passed away! Before he could try it! The day we went in was about a hour prior to closing! At the time we went in there was nobody there, but ourselves! My sister & I decided to try the Sunny Burger! I requested a egg on top of mine! The burgers come with fried potatoes, not fries as they're customized for! I do recommend requesting less spice on them! That's why my rating of a 4 out of 5! Next time I'll have to try something different

When I entered there were only 2 other customers in the cafe. It took just over 20 minutes for me to receive a bowl of soup and half of a cold sandwich. Including a coffee, my bill came out to $17. I could have easily walked to the nearby Thrifty Foods and had the same meal much faster, and for half the price. I can't think of a reason for me to return here.

I’m Annette and I’m one of the owners of sunny Day Cafe. For some reason I’m not able to respond to reviews. First of all , our omelettes are 11.99 and come with Toast or pan fries. All our cooking is homemade and we use local farm eggs. I do not know what happened with the $30 order but would like to think that there was some kind of misunderstanding. We would love to have an opportunity to make it right. There is also a review from Joseph Morrissey. Again, I’m sorry that it wasn’t clear on the menu that the turkey was freshly roasted. I don’t recall being there when this incident happened and am sad that you were not offered to have something else. I do recall a incident that was similar to what you describe, but obviously must have been someone else, because the person I remember was offered a different choice, but was very rude and called our sandwich a piece of garbage that we were supposed to take away. In your case, I apologize for any hardship our staff caused you and hope you will give us the opportunity to make it up to you. We try very hard to please our guests and treat them with respect, and very glad for our guests that keep supporting us! You rock!

Overall great experience. Good sized sandwich. Fresh ingredients. Gave us a muffin for free! Clean space. Lovely woman. Let us use the bathroom upon request. You can't go wrong! :)

Love their macchiatos. Brought a bunch of toddlers there and they loved the play house books and puzzles. Hope they get some more toys. Love that the kids can play while the adults visit. The staff were so friendly with the adults and toddlers. Food was fresh and yummy. I had an egg sandwhich and took home a giant loaf of bread! Will definitely be going back ????

Amazing service and food! The staff are so friendly here, and the food is really good. Pretty sure it’s family run, which makes it even better. The French toast was the best I have had, and the potatoes they serve with the breakfasts are really nice too. If you’re in Campbell River, this spot is a must try for good breakfast.

Today was my second visit and my husband's first. We had the special which was a homemade burger on a homemade bun. It was delicious! The bun was especially awesome, dense and chewy but still soft with some herbs baked in. The first time I was there I had the turkey sandwich which was huge and had about half a turkey on it along with stuffing and cranberry sauce. So good! I will definitely be back. I do hope those burgers become a permanent menu item ????

They made us feel like family. Even with a large group they were courteous and efficient.the sandwiches are made fresh with daily baked homemade breads as well as fresh daily soups. Went twice while in town and definitely will go again next time we visit.

When there for breakfast. My sister and i got the crepe and this pancake thing. Well i didnt end up eatting my crepe because the texture throw me off ( i am pregnant and so is my sister ) so i told the lady i am sorry i just cant finish it and i explain i was pregnant and she try to give me half off the crepe and i said no no i want pay full price because it wasnt your fault and the food good it just the texture and i pay for the meal and she offer me and my sister 2 stones and cinnamon bun for free. I said she didnt have to but she wanted to and said pregnant woman need to eat lots. I go back again. The food great and not only is it good but it huge!! Half of the food you can easily share and both be full. Thank you for the great time and how nice you were. I wish i got your name. ( i think she the owner )

I almost never write reviews, but this meal was so bad that if i could give it zero i would. The coffee was like it was out of a can to start. The food was almost inedible...in fact i left at least half of it 9n the plate. It tasted like they have never cleaned the grill...ever....old grease taste. The omelet was slightly better than subway, but it was close....the "crepes" came as one giant blob of greasy undercooked dough. I do have to say that the staff waa very friendly, but whomever was cooking is not very familiar with having a restaurant ....it took nearly an hour to get the worst restaurant meal i have ever had. She did discount it by half and threw in a muffin, but i feel sick to my stomach ...sorry, you seem really nice.

Once again, a FABULOUS lunch at Sunny Day. SO many good things, but just had to have the 1/2 turkey sandwich (like a WHOLE sandwich!)—soo delicious! And coconut curry soup. I love going there, folks are sooo friendly, food delicious, service great and it is such a safe place during these times. Thank you Sunny Day!!

First visit and sadly our last. Clean place and friendly staff. Over the top prices our 30.00 omelets were ridiculous. Yes just two omelets no hashbrowns or toast. that ALL for 30.00. We could have made that at home for maybe 10.00 if that. You go to a restaurant for the food. We normally go to our regular place where 30.00 is two steaks, 4 eggs, toast, pan fries and two coffee. I guess that's where we will go from now on, just thought we would try something new and support a small business. We cant afford to pay that for just eggs.

Went to Sunny Day for Father's Day breakfast. The first thing you notice is how bright and cheery and how super clean the place is. Then, the staff are also bright and cheery and very attentive. The food was excellent and this will be my new favourite go to place. It's small local businesses like this one that need and deserve our support.

We stopped here because it was a small cozy cafe We ordered the roast turkey sandwich with stuffing & cranberry sauce When it arrived it did not look very appealing Instead of sliced turkey it was all diced & mixed in with the stuffing It also had more stuffing than turkey It looked like leftover bits of the dark meat We explained we expected the turkey to be sliced The owner argued with us that this was the way a turkey sandwich is made He also claimed that sliced turkey is processed turkey He then brought out the cook to tell us that this was the way turkey sandwiches are made Well instead of taking it back & remaking it or offering us something else He proceeded to argue Not good customer service at all After many minutes of this I paid the $10 as that seemed to be the issue that he would have to throw it out He could have used it in something else or born the cost of a couple of dollars The $ seemed to be the big issue rather than customer satisfaction for repeat business It was obvious that customer service is only available when there are no issues We were appalled that he would stand an argue with the customer then call out the cook to argue as well Turkey sandwiches are my favourite Never have I had one that the meat was not sliced & layered If the menu had discribed it as a turkey SALAD sandwich I would not have had an issue I have gone on line & researched over 4 dozen receipes for traditional turkey sandwich with stuffing & cranberry & NOT ONE HAD DICED TURKEY IT WAS ALL SLICED THE STUFFING LAYERED ON AS WAS THE CRANBERRY These sites were some of the best chefs & restaurants in North America So this little family business will receive more than the cost of remaking a sandwich to the customers satisfaction.
