Bought a loaf of bread and had tea, coffee and sweets. Very good!
Great imported goods, even better baked goods. Tarts and desserts are excellent, as are their pies and sausage rolls. Visit if you get the chance!
Very nice little bakery in downtown Preston. i love the sausage rolls they make. they also have many other pastries and baked goods at reasonable prices. definately gonna keep going back here.
Just popped in to the Raising Dough Scottish Bakery and was greeted with the long lost aromas from my old home. An amazing selection of Scottish and UK pastries and sweets. Was also met by the incredible staff. So lucky to have found this gem of Cambridge.
Their lemon cake is to die for. I also really like their steak pot pie. Always worth going here!
I've only been once, but I do plan on returning once I have less Christmas poundage wrapping around me. As far as I can tell (Scottish great gran), the baking is authentic... and if not, it's still quite delicious ????. Tea is served in a teapot (large is, I don't know about small). It is somewhat crowded, as the tables are along one wall, and the serving counter & display case run parallel. Scones and clotted cream are available, but I didn't have that (waist is jolly enough, thank you). The shortbread is nice without being overly sweet, with just the right amount of crumble.
Good food
Great Scottish bakery.
Great selection of pastries, meat pies and biscuits. Packaged goods in the freezer, too! Several kinds of fresh bread, scones and rolls. Magic!
Great selection and baked goods with friendly staff
Great little bakery and a big selection of UK candies and treats
Fantastic cherry turn overs! The pastry is perfect.
The service is impeccable - especially considering they are authentic Scots...just kidding. They are very nice and friendly and the food is excellent. There are very few authentic Scottish Bakeries in the Toronto area so be sure to check out Rising Dough if you need anything.
Decent selection. Friendly staff
Very good
Absolutely delicious!! I definitely recommend trying it. Always friendly service too
Mmmm meat pies
Ye cannae get a friendlier roll n sausage and IrnBru anywhere fer 500 miles and 500 more. Ahm no kidding by the way, staff are superb, selection is great, and only a jeely sammich awa fae perfection. - kc/
I love their bread, strawberry tarts, and eclairs!
Great Scottish products and bakery
I love their selection of tarts! The shortbread is also delicious. In fact, I think I've loved everything I've tried here. Good scones and potato bread as well... Everything's made on site and is reasonably priced.
I always buy my scones from this bake shop. They have several different types including my favourite whole wheat raisin. Toast them up and add a little butter and enjoy!!
Love the treats
The shortbread remind me of the ones my grandmother used to bake. Except they're not burnt.
Pasties, Bridies and the best Eccles cakes in the world. One of those tastes that brings back your childhood. Lots of other sweet treats too. Some Brit chocolate and other items behind the counter. If travelling a distance for a certain item, call first. They can make sure your desired good is in stock that day.
Best pastries this side of the pond!!
Amazing, as usual. Just like home!!
Delicious and very good prices
excellent, authentic Scottish bakery - lots of choices and great products
I never seen a rude cashier in my life like the one in this store…. It took them 18 minutes for one grilled cheese sandwich. The cashier was completely have no idea about how to deal with a customers specially with kids.
We arrived at 4:40pm on Saturday after checking the website to see they are open till 5pm. Upon arriving the store was closed. I tried calling 3x and no one answers and their voice-mail is not initialized. Definitely not a good first impression.
I really like their steak pies, love their roll and sausage.
Rude counter help So So Quality
My absolute favorite bakery in the area. A wonderful selection of imported goodies and treats, and absolutely phenomenal baked goods, whether it be a meat pie or something for your sweet tooth! The staff are always very friendly and nice, happy to answer any questions you may have. The store itself is a bit cramped, but kept very clean and tidy.
Came all the way from Oakville and was kindly greeted by the most unfriendly staff I have ever met. Why display you have pumpkin pie when it is all sold out? Also the people working behind the counter are so rude. Will not be back.
Best baked goods!
excellent selection and so delicious
This place is awesome ????????????????????????. Be prepared to struggle deciding what to get because there’s so many mouthwatering sweet and savoury pastries. Cute family owned vibes.
Scottish bakery, authentic UK food imports plus really good selection of pastries in sweet and savory. If you have to meet with friends you cannot lose stopping here first for treats to share. Have tried at least half of everything they bake and the least exciting things were at minimal good. I'm not even a Scott!
Friendly and save with lots of specialty treats and delicious savoury bites
Delicious baked goods. Also, they're a reliable source of UK food imports. We visit whenever possible.
This is a cute little Scottish Bakery! Love taking visitors and guests here to eat in. Or stop for a meat pie when I need a quick super. Their desserts are equally delicious!
Need some comforting Scottish food? Go to The Rising Dough Bakery. You will not be disappointed! Picture of coconut tart. So good!
Great bakery not just the best Scottish bakery but arguably the best bakery in town. Authentic Scottish baked good run by a married Scottish couple. Fresh baked every morning. Great tasting coffee and the service is bar non, there going to treat u good, ur going to love this place. I highly recommend the scones. Very convenient location in the heart of Preston
Amazing
Delicious treats. I love this place.
The absolute best steak pies in the tri cities. Hands down.
Great service, fruit explosion scones are my favorite ????
I stopped in here while leaving Giant Tiger one day and what a happy surprise. I bought a Strawberry Cream Tart and a Cherry Turnover. Both were absolutely delicious and well made. It is a small bakery with not a lot of employees so I had to wait a bit for service but it was worth it and the employees are friendly and kind. I just moved to Cambridge from Toronto and was having trouble finding a new comfort food bakery that didn't have horrid reviews. I think this place is a serious contender. :)
Amazing selection of Scottish/UK pastries, cookies, candies, tarts, and meat pies. So lucky to have this gem in Cambridge.
Not very friendly service
Overpriced and not very good at all. The chocolate chip cookies are very dry.
Great treats & allways fresh
Amazing food, fabulous staff, great atmosphere????
Scottish banking beautifully done. Haggis is available for aficionados.
The selection is unbelievable!! I wanted everything...lol!
Good steak pie, BUT buy 3 small pies instead of the medium steak pie.... its better bang for your buck. Was not impressed with the medium portion steak pie. ALSO THERE WAS NO CRUST ON THE BOTTOM.OF THE MEDIUM STEAK PIE... odd ...
Everything in the Bakery is Sooo Good!!
Good Scottish eats and super friendly staff!!
Great Scottish bakery. We go alot
Scottish treats, always fresh!
I am of Scottish background (my grandmother was an immigrant to Canada) and I've lived in Cambridge for 28 years, so I've been stopping in to Rising Dough occasionally for a very long time. The staff is always friendly and pleasant, the food is good, and I can get my Irn-Bru fix there (haha). As a vegetarian, I was disappointed when the Empire Biscuits started being made with sweets on top instead of the traditional cherries; I know the sign in the shop says the biscuits are vegetarian "without the sweet" or something like that, but a ham sandwich is vegetarian too if you pick the ham off-- I still wouldn't eat it though. Anyway, it's still a lovely shop and I will be back, just no more Empire Biscuits for my household anymore, I'm afraid. I'll have to find another bakery for those, or make them traditional way at home.
Sorry they do not have space for dine in currently but had all our faves for take away!!
Nothing special.
A Scottish bakery in Canada, what more could a hungry Scotsman wish for! Steak pies like your mother used to make, and lots more to satisfy your food cravings.
Grilled cheese on fresh made bread was delicious. Choc eclairs for dessert
Love it
A MUST to visit! Their bakings are fresh, made in-house, and authentically. Everything they make is absolutely delicious - their pies, tarts, cookies, buns, and loaves. They make both sweet pies and tarts, and savoury ones, all equally amazing. And on top of all of this, their service has always been extremely friendly and attentive! Do yourself a favour and go in and buy a wide selection of food - try a few of everything. Your taste buds will be overwhelmed with delight, and you won't be able to stop returning to buy more!
Great cup of coffee and meat pies
bred is good
Great staff, great foods, always quality. Tops in Cambridge, for sure.
Been coming here since I was a kid. Used to live across the street. Still my go to for some fresh baked goodies.
thats so bad
Excellent place for guid ol Scottish grub!
Tasty and lots of variety. Their pastry is the best! Well...other than my mum's.
Very good bakery with English/Scottish ware. Lovely staff.
I love their baked goods and pastries. I particularly like their cheese scones. The staff are friendly. Although there is often a line, you usually don't wait very long to be served.
I just had the best sausage roll of my life from this bakery. I can't wait to try the pies, the pastry was insanely delicious. ????
Very good
Great biscuits
Just like home! Great selection behind the counter as well as fresh baked treats.
The baked goods were excellent, staff were very helpful and patient. Authentic Scots! ????????????????????????????
Wonderful rasin bread and scones
Love the rising dough, best variety and beat tasting meat pies.
I go here often for bridies, pasties, and scones. I have yet to have a bad baked good here.
Excellent food, reminds me of home.
Great meat pies, helpful staff, shout out to Janet, she took the time to answer my questions, and got back to me on others she couldn't initially answer. Would highly recommend this bakery.
Best British bakery in Cambridge. Master baking at its finest. Great selection of everything British.
If you're looking for fresh, authentic baking this is it. A great selection of sweet treats, household staples, generously meaty pies, hearty rolls, scones and breads - Rising Dough is second to none. Best bakery in town!
Love the pastry
Amazing bakery the pies are great and many of the cookies are awesome. One side note. Dear Rising dough bakery please please stop putting raisins in otherwise great cookies. I loathe buying a cookie that looks amazing just to take it home and find out that its raisins not chocolate. Goes right in the trash.
best donuts in down
So I recently discovered there are lots of British shoppes here after discovering a couple in Mississauga and Oakville I’ve made a point to go to as many as possible and they are mostly the same some smaller some bigger etc but this is by far the worst The customer service was atrocious, the lady at the counter was nice to the couple ahead but miserable and short with me The tarts I got were average nothing special average price average average average It was cramped with little sweets from back home and dark inside making it feel dirty Maybe my experience was soured by the customer service but I will openly admit this is a small business I will never support or recommend to anyone
Lovely wee British Bakery
Best Scottish bake shop around! Great selection of fresh baked goodies! Love the snowballs! Good selection of imported sweets and treats and various other stuff. You can also sit down and order food and coffee/tea. Staff are awesome and super friendly..
Delicious cookies. Unfriendly service and quite expensive.
I'm not Scottish so I can't be considered an authority on Scottish baked goods but tge bread is always tasty and fresh and the ladies behind the counter are always friendly and pleasant. Meat pies here too...will be on my list next time I go
The prices are a high considering the mediocre quality of the product. These people would do well to take a course in customer relations. They are unfriendly and abrupt. I think I'll make my own cheese scones from now on.
I went yesterday and bought a steak pie. They only had a large one left. It cost $30. We just had it. Very disappointing. The beef wasn't bad, but the puff pastry was awful. Dry and no taste. Plus the staff needs a personality overhaul.
Disappointed no egg custerds
My most favourite spot
Great for baked goods.Always top notch.
Awesome food!!!!!
Wonderful Scottish Bakery!!!! Lots of choices. Had breakfast there 2 days in a row while visiting the area.
Great food
Love their steak pies.
Always makes me feel I'm back hame
Great Scottish baking and imported groceries in Preston. A real pleasure to have a snack here in the mornings. Great tarts and shortbreads. Carries Irn Bru or did. Stocks Cornish Pasties. I like their fern tarts.
Great Bakery
I highly recommend the Rising Dough Bakery. This is the best Scottish Bakery in my area. They do different meat pies and other wonderful pastries. I love their Steak and Steak and Kidney pies. I recently tried their chicken one and like it too. I recommend the Rising Dough Bakery to friends and family. My Dad at 75 is now a regular customer for their meat pies too.
Lots to choose from. My favuorite cookie is the cranberry shortbread. Friendly staff, very efficient.
My wife and I visited the above establishment last week and my wife purchased about eighty dollars worth of their bakery items. She and myself were very disappointed with most of the items that we purchased. Their was no filling in their sausage rolls and what there was tasted terrible, also the pastry tasted as though it had not been baked in the oven. I honestly would not recommend this establishment to any one and it will be a cold day in hell before we will take the drive to the Rising Dough Bakery again that's for sure.
Good staff even better food
All really good stuff dietetic ????????
Great prices, delicious baked goods. The workers are really nice too. Quite the gem!
I absolutely love the Rising Dough Scottish Bakery. Consistently great treats and kind staff. The fern tarts and empire cookies are my favourite.
Some desserts are too sweet. I expected higher quality.
Great service! Great food! A taste of home!
Baking good are great..so fresh. Very friendly staff too.????????
Very nice bakery and people. Good food and selection.
Great little Scottish bakery and coffee shop not many tables but worth the visit
The best true Scottish bakery in southern Ontario. They make fresh on the premises and everything is excellent quality. A wide variety of sweets and chocolates. I have been shopping there for as long as they have been open and will not go anywhere else for my taste of home. They also do Christmas selection boxes.
Excellent service, food taste and price! Cozy eat in.Happy crowd alround makes for a nice visit.Deborah
One of cambridge's greatest hidden treasures! A must try for anyone who likes baked goods.
Awesome bakery!!
Nice fresh baking.Good assortment of goods.
Delicious scones!!
Over priced imported goods. Medium quality baked goods. Nothing much authentic here.
Incredible little bakery. This shop has rare items imported and had the most friendly and courteous staff.
Some of the staff here make us Scottish people look bad! Called today 10:00 and only on the phone for 30 seconds! Trying complement the food! take a lesson in customer service and when people are giving you a compliment don’t be trying to rush them off the phone. I’m not spending $40 at your store to be treated like that. Learn customer service or don’t answer the phone. Disgusting how fast this girl try to hang up on me.... even if you’re busy 30 seconds of your time isn’t that much show some respect.
good meat pies. staff is friendly
Are shortbread cookies are like little pieces of heaven
A very nice bake shop. Staff is friendly and most of the customers are regulars. Selection of cookies, meat pies, freshly made pastries are excellent. Breakfast is served and can get crowded. Charming place......ENJOY.
Good good great service
Good place to for treats and to grab a bite. Always busy
