I would give them 6 stars if I could!! Outstanding! Green tea chiffon cake and sweet potato mousse cake are fabulous, their savoury pastries are delicious too (try the croquettes and the danishes!). Ooh also the chocolate mousse cake was delish!

I ordered a cake for Mother’s Day. When I went to pick it up I provided my name and showed my receipt, they told me they would be back but proceeded to continuously ask me for my name and what had I ordered while they looked for my cake. After about 20 mins they hand me a cake and one of the staff rudely told me that next time I should just provide my name and show my receipt. When I explained that I had she just waived her hands and left. The cake was dry and plain, barely had any strawberries and it was just a big disappointment and after how they treated me I will not be back.

Their cake is very fresh, so if you don't have a requirement on specifically larger than 6'', walking in is not a bad choice. I walked in to another Korean bakery and bought a cake for my friend's birthday party, and the cake turned out not very fresh. The sponge was feeling dry already. I walked in to this store and picked a strawberry cream cake one day because I was in a cake mood, and it was very delicious.

Love wow bakery. They seem to have the worst luck with the building they are in, but for Asian style and Asian quality pastries and cakes there is no other place in YYC that even comes close. The chocolate croissants are a real standout. Bit pricey, but worth it!

The baking is pretty good but I think they use a lot of additives and dough conditioner to keep their stuff soft and moist longer. I could tell because my stomach doesn’t like those ingredients and reacted strongly to their treats. Wish it was better, especially since the prices are pretty high for something that isn’t really as nice as it looks.

They have the best croissants! Such a great bakery. Even their macaroons (the coconut kind) have a different texture which is much nicer than the store bought ones. Nice staff.

Asian flavored breads (sweeter than normal), great pastries (savory and sweet), donuts and cookies. The only thing I have not tryed yet are the cakes, but they look very good. So I have lots to look forward to now that I already have some favorites. My wife said it reminded her of good bakeries from back home in Taiwan. And we are happy to have found this finally. We hope to be here often.

I ordered a cake through the online delivery service on April 3rd. It was scheduled to be delivered on April 8th. I received a confirmation email and they charged my card. It's the 10th today and we did not receive the cake! I called all 3 locations on the 8th and 9th but there was no answer. I left voicemails and a message on their social media with no response. Unprofessional and terrible customer service. I want my money back!!

We tried their delivery for the first time. Ordered a tiramisu and chestnut bread. I’ve had both in store before and tasted great. We were delivered a frozen tiramisu and a definitely 2 day old, stale loaf of bread. Emailed and messaged with no response. Finally called them and was told that it definitely was fresh, I must be wrong. I would not recommend this company.

I love this bakery, they actually make stuff that's a good level of sweetness. Most bakeries are WAY too sweet, but this is perfect. I love how they also have pretty cake slices that are perfect for last minute birthday surprises. Also, they have these corndog things that are unreal. I have to try to stop myself every time I go.

Ordered green tea chiffon cake for my hubby’s B-day. it has too much whipped cream on the top. The portion of the sponge cake is small. Basically it feels like eating whipped cream only. It tasted very heavy. I ended up with eating the cake only and throwing away the cream. But the cake tastes great. I will still visit here again as I can’t find a better place in Calgary for a traditional Asian B-day cake.

I am no expert but I feel Korean bakery is quite similar to Japanese. This place is clean, tidy and good looking inside. We ordered a birthday cake for a family member and it was not too sweet. Excellent. Prices are generally a bit higher than the others we have been.

WOW. Walking in the door you're immediately hit with an amazing bakery smell. Everything I bought was sooooo delicous. Earl grey cake slice was moist, fresh, soft and not too sweet. Been hearing many good things about this bakery so finally checked it out. There are many unique cake flavours like earl grey, red velvet, sweet potato, and many more. The cakes are not too sweet and most of them are around $32.00 so not too bad. If you want them to provide a name plate for the cake, make sure you call ahead of time to order.

My complaint isn’t for this location, I generally love the service I get at all locations except for the new Royal Oak location. I’m placing my review here because the Royal Oak location has no to little online presence and I am unable to properly review. The operations at the Royal oak location is horrendous. No digital presence. A new opening should have all their ducks in a row, at least with how to find your business and learn what you are offering. Especially during a pandemic, digital methods for customers to gain information or order should be paramount. I can’t find the address, menu for The cafe or anything online. Only some photos on social media. Covid safety protocols aren’t enforced properly. And line up navigation should have proper signage. If you don’ want people to enter a certain door lock it or have a sign that says “please use other door”. Instead they have a long sign about how it’s unfair to shop at both cafe and bakery..I’m really confused at their priorities. As I finally figure how to enter the location. I watched as people left the line from confusion or customers all walking in the “wrong” door. The only enforcement is a worker who seems to have her job spilt. eventually blocks you as you try to enter and redirects you. I must say, she must not be happy or really stressed, cause I’ve been here three times and all three times she’s not very pleasant to talk too. line ups are going out the door and no one is managing the line up outside or informing people of what’s going on. They also provide conflicting information. I ordered a cake for pick up. They asked if I need a receipt. I asked If I need it for pick up. They said no. I came to pick up and they asked for confirmation number which was not provided previously. Even if this is a franchise opening there should be consistency in their marketing and competent operations.

Ordered Tiramisu and sone focaccia bread for delivery. Arrived in time and the delivery person was very polite and friendly. Bread was actually nice and the Tiramisu tasted good , except that IT WAS NOT TIRAMISU!! What is supposed to be a ladyfingers dipped in coffee base was subbed for a chocolate sponge cake. Layers of mascarpone blend were subbed with straight cream cheese! Semi sweet at the max. So it was basically a chocolate cheescake with a very faint hint of coffee.

Was here for the first time last week. It’s a small bakery so I wasn’t expecting much when I walked in but holy cannoli the cakes were beautiful and perfect! We left with a gorgeous Red Velvet cake that tasted like heaven! We also left with a handful of smaller baked goods that were equally amazing! They said they're Korean style and yes, they are - but very old style, not current one. The cakes are looking good but when I tried pretty much all flavors, all taste were the same - except for the sweet potato. Too dry sponge cakes and not fresh - I felt they were old and I think they should put more wet ingredients. I wouldn't buy cakes from here but their other pastries are okay. But, still you can find better places.

Amazing Korean/Japanese fusion bakery. They have many of the traditional steamed buns etc that you would expect, as well as some fantastic cakes. If you like traditional flavors I suggest the strawberries and cream cake, if you want something more complex their Earl Grey cake is exceptional. It starts out very subtle, but the more you eat the more the flavor intensifies and different aspects come to the foreground. If you are a fan of custard, their custard buns and milk mochi buns are not to be missed. My personal favorite though is their red bean donut. The red bean paste cuts the sweetness of the donut, bringing it down to a much more enjoyable level instead of the over sweetness of most traditional donuts. It is also much more filling than a donut normally is, leaving me satisfied after only one.

This was about the 4th time I have chosen to come to this newer location. As I have resided in this neighborhood, I was one of the first to enter when this place had limited business at the beginning. This will be the Last time they get any of my business. I entered expecting a pleasant and lite dessert. Lo and behold, upon entry, the attendant decided to kiss up to my company and purposely ignore me when I went to look at her to say a hello and a greeting. I was instantly feeling Unwelcome, she continued to butter up to my company. Gave the attendant another chance to even make eye contact with me and to at least say something. Instead, she purposely ignored me and cruelly looked away. However, she proceeded to smile and kiss face to the other asian and white entrants. I also wanted to give her my request for a beverage, and again, she wouldn't even regard me. Not even in her so-called 'Paris' logo shirt. Je dites que tu est une Folle. So, I downsized my order to a hot water only. I also requested a Black Forest Cake slice, and the first bite literally tasted poisonous. Still looking around and toward the attendant, she was certain to continue smiling and kissing face toward my company, while still giving me ignorant and dirty looks. The end of the story is I will no longer go to this Marda Puke location, and their business will have no more Ching Ching business from me. Even my hair was styled nicely as I had just come from my respectable hair dresser. Don't even bother going to their 'New' location at the Horizon Mall, either. This was Purposeful Discrimination. Dumb Foreigners. It's Okay, I'll stay away. Don't want to get as Fat as Kim Jong Un anyways. Go ahead and lose your Blanc account here. For much better quality and service, check out Sucre Patisserie as a suggestion. Have been to places in the United States where Americans have spoken French, along with a combination of good service, effort, interest and a lack of relative rudeness have been well received in comparison. Blow this popstand.

However, it’s super dry, like it’s been left there for a long time. Buns are also more pricey than other bakeries in town, but nothing really special. Again dry. I don’t think I’ll visit again.

Marble is also a bit greasy. Matcha is a good rule, and it will never step on the thunder. Bread is also delicious! There are also selling macarons. My favourite bakery in this city and the only one with authentic korean goodies! Everything tastes like the bread from korea. My fav breads are the red bean bun, red bean and cream bun, and sweet potato bread. For cakes i really like their earl grey chiffon and sweet potato cake. The cakes are so light and fluffy and not too sweet, everyone always loves them :) Highly recommend.

I have been a fan of Wow Bakery's baked goods and cakes for a couple of years now. We ordered a cake this past Mother's Day for our mom. It was a huge disappointment when we cut up the cake: ▪︎the the sponge cake was very dry ▪︎lack of whipped cream in between the layers, and ▪︎very minimal strawberries in bettwen the layer as well. Not to mention how sour the strawberries tasted. Not sure if this was due to a high number orders on mother's day...

I would rate this bakery for zero if there is one for customer service. I want to try this one and order more as my work place is very close by. I order online and call in to ask to put down "happy birthday" for my kid, so call in many times and they said no. we are in the nw and I have to pick up and drop off my kid's friends on that day, can't manage to go to Chinook to pick up. But they said no very clear. You loose a customer and many referrals. I want to order a few more and catering for my work place but definitely not this place. The worst customer service so far.

Wow is right... The quality of the pastries they have here is exceptional. The croissants are among the best I have had in the city. The style is Korean which is not quite the same as a traditional French croissants, but are incredible in their own right. They have beautiful cakes, cookies, savour snacks, and pastries for any occasion. Prices are beyond fair for their premium product.

A bit over rated in my opinion... The items I tried we're, almond croissant, which I found to be very dry for a croissant. The croquettes, which looked like they were fried in oil that needed to be changed, they were very dark in color but both varieties tasted okay. Nothing to rave about. The coconut macaroons were strange, dry and cake like. I prefer the Filipino ones with a chewy texture and more coconut flavor. I had a slice of the green matcha rolled cake which I also found to be dry and didn't taste of matcha just sweet. We also got the donut with red bean filling and found the filling to be to grainy. I prefer it to be more smooth and less pasty in texture. The only item I liked, was the milk bun filled with cream cheese. But again, I don't think I'd go out of my way to get it again. The store is also very tiny making it difficult for customers to select items without bumping into one another.

Bought a croissant - it was like a mille feuille cake where you could taste each layer. Super flaky, and while it wasn't soft consistency, it was still delicious. Everything has a fresh cream (flavored or not) inside that makes even the bagel seem like a dessert. Went back and bought the green tea chiffon cake. Mixed reviews of how strong the green tea flavor was (some found it very strong, others found it very light) but everyone agreed the cream was delicious and there's definitely a thick layer of it. $32 plus tax.

So far have tried the Green tea matcha chiffon cake and the Earl Grey Chiffon Cake as well as many pastries (love the one with the hot dog in it--see pic). The cakes were light and moist, and the icing is whipped. A wonderful balance of flavours, and not overly sweet. Cakes are beautiful in presentation with a sturdy take out box and they also provide you with a serrated plastic knife that is appropriate for this kind of cake. We Can't wait to try more cakes and pastries!

I have been looking for a good chocolate mousse cake for a while. A good friend of mine found one at Wow Bakery and WOW was it amazing. Usually I find bakeries make their mousse cakes way too sweet. This was perfect a little bit of cake (slightly dry but help with cutting the sweet down) and a good amount of the mousse making it the star, which it should be. So beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked!

Couldn't decide on one particular cake for a small birthday celebration because they all looked amazing. Ended up getting a few single slices. Bavarian Chocolate, Strawberry, and Red Velvet. I can honestly say all of them were some of the most fullhflavored cakes I've had. Not just a pile of sugar, but flavor. Even my 7 year old said it was the best cakes he had had. I will be going back and recommending for sure! Forgot to mention the friendliness of the staff there too.

Husband got an over priced strawberry cake for $40. Tasted ok, tad better than what it looked like. Absolutely no decoration, just plain white cake with pieces of strawberries in it. Not worth my 40 bucks! Never buying from this place again. There are many great bakeries in Calgary that would do a much better job at making a cake look and taste worth that much money!!!

Cute little bakery located right next to chinook. Lots of sweet and savoury pastries to choose from. They’re all unique and familiar. All baked good are reasonably priced. Highly recommend to give them a try. There is seating area it is more of a grab and go bakery. No coffee or tea is served here as well.

Very disappointed. I ordered this cake 2 days in advance without nuts due to an allergy, got it home, it had nuts on it and the icing is cracked all over and the middle isn't even iced. I visited Wow bakery around 4pm on a Thursday afternoon. I have hear good things from people about this bakery. I went in, not much bread or pastry left. Almost every tray was empty. I ended up picking a chocolate cake, I wanted to surprise my wife with it. It was $7, which isn't out of this world but still a little pricy for a small slice. Got home, made some coffee, tried this cake. I can only say WOW, it was bad... dry, no sweetness, not much filling and yes... dry. I've been to Korea 2 times and I know how great their pastries/ bakery can be. But this was WOW... BAD!

Delicious! It was my first time here and I'm definitely coming back. I've never really tried Korean/Japanese baking but WOW is it good! The prices are fair(I paid about $13 for 4 medium-sized items) and more than fair when you include the taste. I would definitely recommend!

Let me be honest with you guys. The quality is okay not bad Their customer service is really slow and their baked goods are really overpriced. I have been to many Korean bakery stores across Canada. For example, Toronto (ex. Galleria) has multiple Korean bakery stores, their red bean donut is between $1.50-$1.99. Here at WOW, they sell is for $2.99 THIS IS WAY OVERPRICED. Other items are at least $1.50 more expensive than other Korean bakery stores across Canada. I felt like they opened this bakery because they have passion in money. I feel really shame to share this store to my colleagues & friends because I dont think this is Korean bakery.. it is something else something terrible. I won't go there ever again. If you want some Asian baked goods, just go to Chinese bakery on the Centre street/ T&T. Their price is fair and the quality is even better than WOW.

I really love them for their cakes! It's always the perfect amount of sweetness. During COVID I ordered a cake to be delivered to my friend for her bday. I didn't realize I sent the wrong address. I'm glad WOWBakery took a picture of the house and sent me a text to notify me it had been delivered. I panicked and texted back immediately after realizing it was the wrong house and the delivery guy went back to grab the cake. And delivered to my friends house, which was across the street. They were accommodating and nice about the whole situation. Thank you Wowbakery! You guys are so nice. Will continue to purchase cakes!

I bought the half price bread in here and turns out it was not half price even with the blue dot on it. When I came home, the bread was soft. It is not fresh made today or the day before. Been regular here ever since they started... after my last 2 visits, I dont think I will be coming back for a long time. Mocha Bun has changed to very dry, and roll cake has also changed very dry and tasteless the last two times I have ordered. They have definitely changed as all other bread types also lost the taste which made them unique. Very disappointed.

When it first opened it was a great bakery...now they limited their selection. Their middle counter used to be full from top to bottom, now you're lucky if the middle counter has any baked goods in it. Plus they got rid of some favours like melon bread, and revised certain items like the sausage bread that now make them unappealing to certain people. Unfortunately now it feels like they're riding on their award instead of putting time into making products. If you want savory go to China town or T & T. But if you're looking for a great croissant then that's the place to go

Got a cake for my brother's birthday dinner. They made a nice "happy birthday" placard out of chocolate for the top and even gave us candles. The dinner was the next day, and even though the cake sat in the fridge over night, it was amazing. It looked amazing as well. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and the selection was quite limited. I did try a slice of their swiss roll and while the cake was moist, the cream to cake ratio is not very good. There's only a very thin layer of cream. I also tried their oatmeal cookie, which has more of a crumbly cake texture rather than a chewy cookie texture.

I have been a regular for years, and today I was very disappointed with qualify of their strawberry cake. They raised the price by 2 dollars and reduced the amount of strawberries inside of the cake. I understand they need to keep up with inflation but compromising the quality of the cake, not fine by me. I guess I will need to find another bakery. Sad

I have been to a lot of bakery in Calgary and WOW bakery is one of the best one for quality and taste. When I am around chinook mall, I always go there to get breakfast for the other day and a quick bite.

It was my first time ordering a cake from this bakery and would definitely order again! I ordered the green tea chiffon cake and my family devoured it! The flavour was delicious, the texture was nice and light, and the icing was so fluffy! I ordered the cake via Facebook message and they responded promptly so the customer service is excellent.

Got a savory pastry. The taste was quite bad. Didn't taste fresh. Sogy pastry and a long lasting unpleasant after taste of margarine. It's mostly self service for pastry and it was very uncomfortable process.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon for the first time. Nice, beautiful and clean set up. All the items looked amazing. There were samples set out at the front and we ended up buying the red bean custard bread we tasted. The prices are decent and fall in line with other specialty bakeries. This isn't a Safeway bakery so don't whine the prices cost a bit more. The quality of the items we bought were great. I'll be back again next weekend.

The items were overpriced for the lack of quality. One of the croissants were partially burnt on the bottom and the texture was more like bread. The red bean cream bun had 50% whipped cream and a quarter of red bean paste and bun, I had to scrape off most of the thick cream, but after eating this it didn't sit well in my stomach. The chiffon earl gray cake slice was also more cream than cake.
