I know cupcakes are supposed to be sweet but their cupcakes are SUPER sweet????, they could probably use just half the sugar and it would taste just perfect. To each their own I guess. Came across their pop-up shop while at Market Mall and bought two samplers of sandwich (squish) cookies and a bag of meringues. Gotta say meringues aren’t my thing personally, but the sandwich cookies were amazing! Especially loved the red velvet squish cookies.

Look no further. This is the place for those looking for: • cakes that look amazing (and super chic) • efficient and helpful service • great value for money (the cakes are very reasonably priced for how wonderful they look and taste) and most important, • incredibly tasty baked goods, made with fresh-tasting ingredients. Our cake was passion fruit and chocolate (yum) but I have also tried their lemon-raspberry (maybe even better). The cupcakes and cookies they sell are also adorbz although the price point for those is definitely more for “special occasion treats”.

I went there and there was a very limited selection, compared to their website and pictures. They had cakelettes which were tiny cakes which had to be ordered! They had like 4 cupcakes which did not look appetizing neither did anything else.(By the way this was way before their closing time) I had to drive 45 minutes to here because of the 4.9 star rating and pictures but definitely was not worth it as I walked out with nothing. I don't know how this place has so many good reviews.

I've bought 3 cakes from Sweet Relief Pastries so far, and all of them have been wonderful. The presentation, flavours, and the cleanliness of the store has always been to expectation. What I like most about this place is the convenience in ordering. To expand, most pastry shops require minimum 2 weeks notice for cake orders, but here they accept orders 4 days notice. Thank you Sweet Relief Pastries for your desserts, and making special moments special!

I tried their red velvet cake. The cake was fine and well put together, but the cream cheese icing was heavy on butter and that was all I tasted. It was a dissapointment, for sure, but I'll try them one more time and chalk it up to a bad recipe and not bad baking. I wouldn't order that cake again, though.

I wanted a sweet fix and they were close by. Loved the cookies and the service. Other places I get a waxy residue on my tongue after eating frosting but the sandwich cookies just tasted lovely and no weird waxy finish. In love! I hope to try for special occasions, you can order cakes!

Deidre made our wedding cake and cupcakes in September, and people are still telling us how delicious they were! Everything was made gluten-free and no one could tell the difference - and best of all, the GF option did not cost extra! My description of what I wanted for the cake was "Uh...peach colours...and marbling, maybe?" and she created something absolutely gorgeous. Correspondence was always prompt and Deidre is always happy and smiling when you see her in the bakery! Highly recommend Sweet Relief for your wedding cake!

The next day I went in for my pickup and they were great and also asked what I wanted on the cake and gladly put "Happy Birthday" we had the chocolate salted carmel cake and it was amazing. I live near to this place and have walked by this place a bunch of times. I wanted to try them out for a while now and ordered a birthday cakette like 3 weeks before. My requirements were very simple: 1. Ice Cream cone dripping cake (like on their website) 2. NO FONDANT (the girl on the phone said they could do buttercream. 3. Vanilla base flavor. 4. I was asked the base color and I requested sky ish blue. Take a look at photo once on what I got. A friend picked up the cake on my behalf and she noticed that it had fondant on it. They even tried to "correct" it. But it's still fondant and my wife does not like fondant so thanks for ruining that. Second I specifically asked for the ice cream cone dripping, I got the ice cream cup dripping. When my friend pointed that to them, the person behind the counter said, you need to be specific that you need a pointy cone on your cake. I was not amused, isn't that the definition of a cone? That a cone is a 3d triangular structure. It is supposed to be pointy? I am not impressed with their order taking skills. Maybe their cakes are good, my wife did not enjoy the cake and I certainly did not. I wanted to take the cake back to them, but unfortunately they are closed on Sundays and Mondays

Just wanna say that I really love the way they make their macaroons. It’s rich in flavour and achieves that freshly baked taste I’m always looking for. The only downside is that they have very limited selection. Ollia Macaroon’s on 17th ave have lots more selection, although it’s hit or miss on the quality of their baking. There are times you can taste the richness of the flavour, and there are times when they just easily crack like as if they’ve been stored in the fridge for quite some time. Hope Sweet Relief adds other popular flavours like Pistachio, Raspberry, rose petal, strawberry, cookies & cream, earl gray, salted caramel, and matcha. ☺️

Sweet Relief is the most adorable, delicious and lovely little bakery in Victoria Park. The owner Deirdre is so wonderful and kind, every time I have visited the bakery she has been so friendly. Her cookies are amazing and she is able to create some amazing themed cookies - she even did a special order of race car cookies for me. I ordered a mini cake for my best friends engagement and it turned out beautifully and was equally delicious. The bakery offers cupcake happy hour later in the day which is an amazing perk, especially if you love in the neighbourhood. The inside of the bakery is so perfect, beautifully decorated and so cute!

Amazing! I normally do not like any cake at all, but I Love nanaimo bars so I figured I'd give the nanaimo bar cake a try. Oh My Goodness, it did not disappoint! The cake itself was moist, delicious, and it was Filled with all the custardy goodness that I love about nanaimo bars! A friend raved about this bakery and how delicious it was, so I had to try it. I went into pickup 10 treats for a work meeting. When I entered the staff were very welcoming - the beautiful selection of all the delicious looking choices was the hard part! When I finally selected 10 cookies I was given an extra shortbread cookie 'on the house' which I thought was a nice gesture. You don't see that anymore. Anyways, I called again today to potentially order a cheesecake for 40+ people for my Uncle's birthday and the gal on the phone apologized saying they were only able to make mini cheesecakes and actually gave me the name of another local bakery that could help, which I thought was very noble and nice. Again, that never happens. Thank you Sweet Relief...I appreciate you and your sweets made me a hero at work. I will be definitely be back!

Got a couple of cakelettes for mother's day and macrons ! The cakes were very good ! We aren't a huge sweets family we found the buttercream too sweet but for your normal sweet loving person it's very good ! One cakelet would have been perfect for my family of 4. But again we don't have giant sweet tooths and kept the pieces relatively small. The macron were SO good. The best ones I've tasted ! The staff are so nice ! I will be using this bakery again ! Way better than ur DQ and big chain grocery store.

So I was told by my sister that she wanted a fancy cake. Most bakeries needed weeks of notice. Called sweet relief up and they were willing to take the time to hear her demands. With the expectation that I was going to get a no, I was surprised they said no problem! So one week later I went in and it was ready. But they went above and beyond and added details to make it special. They have a variety of cookies, cupcakes, ice cream, everything! We needed a gluten-free cake for our wedding, and Sweet Relief Pastries provided us with a delicious and beautifully made gluten-free cake! Deidre was so lovely to work with, and had no issues with having to make our cake gluten-free. Our taste test included a large variety of both cake and icing flavours, and we were able to share our cake ideas and look through a gallery of previously made wedding cakes for inspiration. Sweet Relief was able to deliver our cake to Canmore, and left us with a delicious cake that no one could tell was gluten-free!

My brother and his wife got married during the COVID shutdown that stated only ten people were allowed to attend a wedding, so needless to say they did not get to have the wedding they wanted. The evening before they got married, I decided to surprise them with a personal cake so that they could have one to cut and share between to two of them. Sweet Relief was AMAZING! They took my order and had it ready the next morning, looking beautifully decorated with flowers and macaroons. While I didn’t get to try it, my brother and his wife both exclaimed how good it was in the moment they tried it, so it must have been pretty tasty as well as beautiful. The cake was also fairly priced.

This review is for the recent gluten free cake we ordered for a milestone birthday and the beautiful cake drew oohs and ahhs from other restaurant patrons when the cake was unveiled. I consider myself a dessert connoisseur, and this place has by far the best cupcakes I've ever had, and definitely the best cupcakes in Calgary. I order these cupcakes for my company birthday events, and Deidre gives me a discount, and delivers them for free. Also, the gluten free ones are excellent, and you can't tell the difference between the regular and the gluten free. The icing on the cupcakes is I think the specialty- not too rich, but delicious and buttery. Can't recommend this place enough!

Horrible Location, I had to drive around the area four times for a parking stop in the off hours. Needless to say, I was met with a lackluster selection and a rather harsh attitude from the worker, who made the experience even worse, I felt like garbage as before I could barely get the damn receipt she had gone to gleefully served the dude behind me and I couldn't get it. For a "bakery" that has pastries in its name, you would think there would be some... there wasn't any there, just some standard simple cookies and cupcakes. When I asked what type of buttercream was on the cupcakes, she replied with flavors, when I specified I was asking if it was Italian or swiss she replied the kind with butter and sugar, I said that it must be American, clearly a lack of basic dessert knowledge. I am currently reviewing most bakeries in Calgary, as I am ranking them and allow me to say I am super disappointed.

I've tried a few things from here: sundae, various cookies, cupcakes, cakes and a cakelet. I'd recommend everything. The cakelets are great if you only want a few slices of cake! My friend ordered a cake for her daughter's birthday. It was a unicorn cake and it looked fabulous. High recommend this bakery especially if you'd rather support a smaller chain

I haven't tried anything at this bakery that I don't love. Their cakes not only look amazing, but are super moist and flavorful as well. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. I recently pulled a brain fart and ordered a cake online for March 22nd instead of FEBRUARY 22nd =| Within 4 hours they rushed my order so that I could pick it up before the end of day. Highly recommend this place.

My sister and I found this place by accident and I'm glad we did. I'm in love with sandwich cookies, every single flavour was delicious, but I especially love the red velvet and chirro flavour. I also love the earl grey cookie as well, it's the perfect amount of sweetness. The girls are super nice and helpful every time we come. I drive from Airdrie here just to get my cookie craving satisfied!

Deidre and her team are amazing. My husband and I were married on November 6th, and we requested custom cookies as well cupcakes. We were absolutely blown away by what Deidre created for us. I don't have our pictures back so I can't include them, but Deidre made us cat cookies, mountains, hearts, and rings to go with our theme. Our guests agreed that they were all delicious and perfect for our wedding. Many guests took the desserts to go after the reception as they thought they were so good. Not only are her creations delicious, Deidre is also a lovely person and great to work with. I can't wait for another occasion to request some Sweet Relief goodies!

You can usually find the cutest teeny tiny cake for $20 which is a great price to pay for any occasion. The staff are so sweet, welcoming and accommodating. Our wedding plans changed last minute and we needed a small cake for just the two of us. Deidre got back to us promptly via email and we were able to order a cakelette with lemon cake and raspberry buttercream, with a simple white buttercream on the outside, so that we could decorate with our own faux florals. We were leaving town for the wedding on Monday, so we had to pick up the cake on Saturday to be eaten on Tuesday evening. The cake was refrigerated for those days and was still fresh when we needed it - it was DELICIOUS!!!! The flavours were perfect – they were refreshing, and the buttercream was smooth and sweet. We ended up freezing some slices in Tupperware and had them a month later and they still tasted great. We also appreciated that they were able to create a perfect little cake for our wedding without adding any big wedding upcharges. We got at least 3 desserts out of the cakelette for the two of us – wedding night, the next day, and a month later. We’ve already gone back multiple times for their cake by the slice and they have all been delicious! Will definitely be getting our future cakes from Sweet Relief!!!

Sweet Relief did an incredible job with our wedding cake! It was 3-tiers of deliciousness, when we went in for the tasting we had such a hard decision choosing the flavor for the cake and the filling. It was a good thing that we had 3 tiers to choose different cake flavours. Deidre did an amazing job decorating the cake, we envisioned something very classic, with flowers on it and the cake turned out better than we could have imagined. Lots of guests who never eat dessert at weddings stopped us to tell us how amazing the cake was, and many people tried different flavours because the first one was so good. We will definitely be using Sweet Relief Pastries again in the future, any chance we can get. Thank you for the fabulous cake, it really helped make our wedding that much sweeter.

Came across this bakery through research right before exploring downtown Calgary while I was visiting Alberta this past summer and so so happy I did. Fabulous bakery with incredibly kind, welcoming staff and baked goods to match it. The peanut butter and sea salt cookies are delicious - slightly crispy on outside, soft and chewy on the side with incredible flavour, good mixins, balanced and great size. I had to go back before I left for the airport to snag their cake slices and more cookies - I just wish I had bought more or that they could ship to me in Toronto! Mint Oreo and Harry Potter butter beer cake slices were the specials that week and loved them. I’m picky when it comes to frostings and their American buttercream is top notch layered between a moist flavour full cake. The cakes are sweet but I loved them with perfect cake to icing ratio and mixins added the texture element. I recently ordered the Salted Caramel for my sisters birthday and it looked incredible - she said it was delicious! Not to mention the day I was there, the girl who served me was incredibly patient with me as I was so indecisive and offered great recommendations in the area.

I love sweet relief pastries and their sandwich cookies. These cookies got me hooked and because of them I decided to order my birthday cake from here. I came into the store to talk with Deidre and design the cake. The first thing I mentioned was the colour theme I had wanted. I said a black, white and gold cake. Then in terms of design I wanted one tier to be textured and the other tier to have some kind of lace decal. I was pretty vague but I also wanted to have her artistic input on it. The cake ended up being very beautiful but very bridal as there was no black decal on the cake whatsoever. The bigger tier was flavoured red velvet and the second smaller tier was chocolate. I'd go for the chocolate as the main flavour next time as the red velvet somewhat kind of lacks in flavour. At least to me. Love this little bakery and I did get a friends and family discount but it just wasn't what I had pictured or originally wanted.
