Friendly staffs Tasty cake
The candies are beautiful but I got a bit disappointed with the flavor and texture. The chocolate on the top was not good. So if you like desserts really sweet that is a nice place for you.
Excellent coffee program- beans are from Matchstick in Vancouver, first source in Calgary. Pastries are mostly excellent- my fave are the banana and caramel scones and I normally loathe banana flavoured anything!
Had a cappuccino and a turkey/swiss on croissant. The cappuccino was fantastic, probably the best one I have had. The croissant was lovely and more filling than I expected.
Great little patisserie. They sell awesome croissants, sandwiches and pastries as well as frozen pastries to bake on your own. I'm glad I don't live closer or I'd be real fat.
Their coffee is great, and their pastries rock. I was just a little disappointed by their specialty early gray hot chocolate, part of the Calgary hot chocolate competition. Although its presentation is lovely, the taste has room to grow.
DONT GO TO STARBUCKS! Go to Sucre instead!!! The espresso tastes robust and their drinks are top quality. I usually get a vanilla latte and you can taste the difference in their bean quality. What's more there are vanilla seeds in the drink, which means they are using REAL FREAKING VANILLA. This place is amazing. And the pastries are fantastic. Highly recommend. ????????
I ordered the Vanilla Fog cake for my boyfriend's birthday and it was DELICIOUS! The sweetness was perfect and the Earl Grey flavour wasn't overpowering anything! It tasted really good! It's definitely one of the best cakes I've had! Will be ordering cakes here from now on.
Beautiful selection of fresh sweet and savoury pastries! We tried ham and cheese, banana chocolate and chocolate as well as some cookies and everything was delicious!
Great place for a coffee meeting. The staff was friendly and made my order quickly. The coffee tasted great & they also serve amazing pastries. Enjoy your drink and food while taking in the downtown views from inside the café.
Sucre is by far one of my favourite bakeries in Calgary. They make yummy pastries like cookies, venoiseries, and tarts. Now, Sucre may not provide "fancier," or decadent pastries like other French bakeries in the Beltline. HOWEVER, they certainly are the cheaper option for French venoiseries. They also have better hours than other bakeries in the area, as they're open every day into the late afternoon / early evening. If you want an unpretentious French bakery, Sucre is where to go.
I was looking for a nice place to slowdown on Sunday morning because I was much too early for opening our atelier when I stumbled on Sucre Patisserie & Cafe. The cafe is pleasant with a clean yet warm feeling. It really has a unique feel as Calgary cafés go. It was a relaxing atmosphere with a cute french soundtrack playing in the shop speakers. The espresso isn't anything to really write home about. Lacking body, it was just okay for me. The hazelnut kouign amann was tasty but on the sweeter side. If you love Nutella or are a self professed sweet tooth, you'll probably love this little pastry. The staff were friendly and greeted me with smiles. I'll definitely be back.
We have ordered catering (croissant sandwiches) as well as many birthday cakes. Love it and would highly recommend! Looks like they have some great delivery options.
Nice selections, amazing pastries, very good coffee. The seating is limited.
First time visiting today, my friend and I were really excited to try this cafe. The sandwiches, coffee, and desserts were good however the service was poor. We were not acknowledged or helped, the staff ignored us and when we tried to order the employee was extremely rude and unpleasant. Ordering simple items from the menu wasn’t an easy experience the employee wasn’t helpful or attentive we had to repeat our order multiple times even though it was simple items from the menu. Overall we felt unwelcomed. Won’t be returning.
Lovely and helpful service
It's a cool and cozy space. The coffee is also great ????
Just purchased an iced latte from Sucre, normally really great pastries but it seems as though they used whipped cream or half and half cream to make the drink…had to throw it all out, would recommend specifying which milk you want
I went to this café both yesterday and today had the caramel Brule latte and some meringue. The staff were not very friendly, the meringue was very hard (almost inedible) and a lot of the cakes and pastries are over priced. The latte was the only ok part of the experience. The café is clean and cute but its not my first choice for coffee and pastry.
The chocolate cake we had was very nice, but the breakfast food was unimpressive and over priced.
Absolutely fantastic, the pasty kind of Trianon Cake very good, and the Café Moka high quality! Thanks
Chocolate chip cookies, macaroons, and meringue cookies were FANTASTIC!!
Been there a few times and tried a variety of items.. Pastries and desserts are still good, but not the hot food/ sandwiches (used to be okay). Ordered a squash soup and Grilled Chicken Pesto Melt. The soup was water down and didn't have much flavor while the Chicken Melt was way too salty. The puff pastry itself seemed to be too soft and didn't have much chicken chunks inside. The latte i ordered was mediocre as well. It tasted kinda plain didn't taste like what fresh espresso beans should be, not sure if they're have changed the beans or if there's something with the machine. Overall, service was ok could be more friendly. Would prob come back for pastries and desserts only.
unreal almond croissant, and macarons but I was very disappointed in the service. The staff were not attentive, disinterested and not very helpful with suggestions. would go back just for the baked goods, but overall not happy with the service
I ordered a unicorn cake for a birthday and couldn’t be happier! The cake was delicious and looked like the picture on the website. It is absolutely whimsical and beautiful. We were pleased that they used buttercream frosting, not fondant, on most of the cake (only the horn and ears were fondant). It was so beautiful we didn’t want to cut into it but I’m happy we did because the cake itself was so good. We would definitely order a cake from here again.
We had a birthday celebration for my wife. The cheese cake and tiramisu are amazing amazing desserts. One of the best in Calgary.
One of the best Croissant place in Calgary! And their coffee goes so well with the pastries. They also have croissant sandwiches that are amazing! They makes fresh pastries in the house that makes this place smells amazing everytime when I come in!
Super good cakes! I had a mango cake and loved every bite of it. the moouse was fluffy and the cake layers were soft. The price is moderate and the staff are really nice. The furniture and style of the cafe is modern and trendy. definitely worth checking it out.
Really delicious desserts!! Tried the YYC hot chocolate festival special today (tiramisu hot chocolate) and it did not disappoint!
One of our favourite bakeries in Calgary. Our faves would be the cruffins (a cross over between a muffin + croissant), the salted caramel cheesecake and their churro twists! We always like to go in the mornings to get best selection on these treats because we have gone in the afternoons before and the items have sold out already!
One of my favourite cafes, excellent cakes and lattes.
Cute bakery with yummy coffee, lattes and croissants! Came here on a weekend morning and it wasn't too crowded and the service was fast.
Drinks were ok but cleanliness was very poor, all tables chairs were dirty. We were disappointed we should’ve opted for take out instead of sitting there
Been coming here for about a year now. Something has changed. The staff seem unhappy. Did not like how I was treated. Was told I can't use my versus card anymore and to hurry up when there was no one behind me. Told my staff we aren't getting our Friday order here anymore. If this only happened once I would be okay, but for the last few months I haven't been enjoying it here any more.
Sucre Cafe makes outstanding baked goods, and their service is top notch. I used them for a corporate function and they went above and beyond for our event. The owner made the planning a breeze and I sincerely look forward to working with them again soon!
Nice coffee and pasteurized !
Love the Nutella cookies! Always stop in for a couple when I'm in the area. I ordered my birthday cake from them a few months ago too and it was fantastic!
Excellent pastries and great quality. I would give this location 5 stars. The only thing short of the extra star is the extremely tight seating.
I really enjoyed the delicious pumpkin chai and lemon tart!
Wow! Everything here is made in house from scratch, and it shows!! If you’re looking for something sweet, come here!
Amazing place to get great coffee and pastries. Super friendly staff!
Our favourite Black Forest Cake in Calgary. ❤️Amazing every time!
Food tasted good, my husband although felt his almond and banana croissants were not fresh. I liked the variety of pasteries and hot-drinks they have, and specially addition of non-meat sandwiches. The outside view from the huge glass window was beautiful. I enjoyed having the warm sips while watching it snow outside. A perfect winter afternoon!
Est pastries in town!!! Croissants yo die for !!!! Peace of heaven. Beautiful selections and display. The smell is enough to buy the whole store. Great job!!!
Never been one for cafes or coffee shops but this place I would definitely continue visiting. There’s a wide selection of savoury items as well as the sweet items and service is always pleasant. For someone as indecisive as my sister or I, they let you continue to decide what you’d like to order as they prepare any other things you may want (ie. prepare your coffee as you decide what pastry you’d like; regular for single guests but with larger groups this is convenient). I’ve only ordered their London fog, but I appreciate that they don’t add any sweetening to it so you can decide how sweet you’d like to make it yourself. I’ve tried the lighter coffee (what my mom ordered but can’t remember the name) and it was surprisingly not as bitter as I thought it would be. Most times I visit I get my order to-go but this past time, my mom, sister and I stopped in for a quick get-together. On weekends and some mornings it’s hard to find seating but it is a small cafe so I don’t mind that much. The atmosphere is cute and cozy and (according to my family) the bathrooms are really cute but for customers only. My favourite item from Sucre is the chocolate obsession cake, available in whole cake or slices, may be rich but eaten with tea or milk it’s the perfect match. The macarons are one of my highlights as they have about a dozen different types every time so I get to try some new ones along with some favourites. As well the chocolate banana croissant is delicious and though I have not tried, my mom says the beef stew there is delicious. I need to go back and order a more diverse array of things (as always I like to stick to favourites) but the display cases make everything look wonderful and I cannot wait to come back again.
The scones they serve here are hands down the best I've ever had. I'm not sure what your recipe is, but please don't change it! If anything come here just to try one of the scones!
Best avocado and egg croissant! Lovely, local and delish!
The croissants were dry and did not live up to the hype or price of the baked goods.
Sandwich, Patisserie , baguette and coffee.....OUTSTANDING
Very good quality pastries. And they let my puppy sit with me while I eat their delicious food. Highly recommended.
The card at the bakery said strawberry cheesecake but it was a raspberry cheesecake
Stop by this place quite often, it’s a cute little cafe that offers a variety of baked goods. I’m addicted to their chocolate obsession cake and my go to breakfast is the croissant BLT. Recently bought my brother in law a tiramisu cake, it was decorated so lovely I wish I had taken a picture. He ate all of the cake by himself in just 2 days!
The ambience here is wonderful. Such a cute place! ☺️
Not bad service, some of the patisseries are good
My friend got me some macaroons and they were the best i have ever had! and Im not even that big of a macaroon fan! I live right by there so this could get dangerous!
I love this bakery. Awesome staff, amazing baked goods, great coffee. It's bright, it's nice. You should go. Get the banana chocolate croissant.
Love this coffee place downtown. The Baristas are nice and the shop is nice. Lots of drinks and food selections plus if you are a macaroon lover, they get macaroons there too! I had a wonderful time with my friend there on Wednesday afternoon.
Amazing french patisserie - has to be the best pastries in the city! From the croissants to the macaroons... delicieux! Must try the Vanilla Latte (made with Vanilla been paste) so good!
We decided to visit this establishment during our first visit in Calgary. The place looked promising according to the reviews online and the food looked amazing. We were greeted by ghosts, literal ghosts. Nobody greeted us at all. It was not busy at all during the time of our visit but the atmosphere was not at all welcoming. The food was amazing, especially the cinnamon bun. However the cashier (the one that only spoke French) wasn't the friendliest and was impatient.
Nice place, love the pastries. Definitely deserves a 5 star.
The croissants sandwich was excellent very delicious and the coffee ☕ so yummy everything ????
Great choices not easily found any where else in Calgary!
I pre-ordered a macaron cake here for a birthday and it was beautiful and delicious. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the cake. Their pastries look so enticing that I ended up buying a croissant and meringues as well. I was not disappointed at all. They also serve coffee and sandwiches that I will definitely try next time.
First time visitor and enjoyed a very nice hot chocolate & blueberry scone. Friendly staff and quick service.
Friendly staff who make beautiful drinks out of real ingredients, many of which are local or homemade in the café. The menu is really diverse but not overwhelming. We had a banana chocolate croissant and I thought it would be filled with some artificial paste and to my surprise it was real fresh banana pieces and high quality chocolate. This might be my new favourite, move over analog.
Really saved my butt when my sisters wanted macaron cake and all the other bakeries needed 3- 5 business days notice. This cake was pretty and very sweet.
Very good caramel Latte and croissant. Place was a little small but very clean, fast service and had 3 tables to choose from. I noticed most people just ordered take out. They had a lot of choices of pastries and coffees.
My favourite new lunch spot!
Found another great pastry place! Have to say all the croissants I got was tasty! Service was quick too.
Every pastry in this place is amazing. The staff is also super friendly and really add to the atmosphere of this bakery.
First time we ordered a pastry box through ubereats and we were amazed at the quality of the pastries we received. Highly recommend Sucre for anyone with a sweet tooth!
we love coming to this place even after moving to the opposite end of the city. we used to come here very often back when we used to live downtown and their products are good as always. though they could really work on training their cashiers/ front staff a little better, some of the girls there are just plain ignorant, but it’s all good, as long as i get the pastries i want then i’m happy.
Simple, quick and some seating are to just slow down the day with a cup of London fog
I have been curious about the French Bakeries in Calgary visiting a few over the past year. This one is simple, steady traffic of knowledgeable patrons, and great variety. Sucre wins with quality of product. Having been to Paris - this place is as close as it gets in Calgary to the real thing. Good seating options, clean washrooms, and simple/kind staff. Nu music, little ambiance, which is fine for a traditional French Cafe. I enjoyed it - hope it is able to survive a very small niche market with seemingly limited Street side interest. I thought being on a busy corner would have people jammed to get in. However the arrival of a French speaking couple made it worth the people watching.
Wonderful experience. Their matcha sesame seed croissants are A MUST. Their macrons are infamous. Service is prompt and lovely. I wish they would bring back their mushroom tartine because that was one of my absolute favourites. Unlike other places I’ve noticed that it is somewhat loud so I wouldn’t really recommend going there for work although sometimes I bring my laptop and headphones and sit there but for sure you need noise cancellation to get anything done. This is more a sweet-tooth satisfaction stop. Also if you are sensitive to rather bad music on a loop get your stuff to go because Sucre I love you but that music yo. No. Just no.
A+ coffee and the baked goods are out of this world.
The almond croissant was awesome. Soft and delicious. I didn't try their Matchstick coffee brew but know from experience the beans are great. Look forward to coming again. Friendly service.
Incredibly delicious confections and excellent customer service! AND it feels like Paris. Tres chic :)
It is, in my opinion, never a good thing to write a review about something you like online. A letter, as inconvenient as it may be, phone call, or even a text message seems better appropriate. But due to the fact that most people check online to see restaurant reviews, I have decided to compose a quick testimonial. For me to explain how good the chocolate devotion and hazelnut crunch cakes I tried is a task that forces me beyond my vocabulary. And the cappuccino, creamy and thick and supple all at once.
Friendly service and their coffee is delicious! They are open for take out only until sometime on June. Their chocolate mousse cake is to die for.
Lovely place. We wish it would be open more frequently. Over all, it’s been a good experience.
We get our desserts here for our staff bdays and let me tell you that we will never go anywhere else. Truly, every bite is full of adventure. I feel like I want to be back in Paris. Thank you ????????
I stop by to grab the cheese scone now and then as it's amazing warmed up, and close to work. Nice little cafe with some Paris vibes and friendly staff. Haven't tried anything to drink yet, but they got a nice little self-serve water station which is nice.
This cute little cafe has good coffee and AMAZING pastries. I think most of them are made by the owner herself. The sweets there are not too sweet, which is hard to come by.
The pastries here are absolutely delish! And the cakes are delightful! Worth every penny! Order ahead of time to get the cake you want!
Great atmosphere, the coffee was good and best of all, the cruffin was amazing!
Not the greatest experience. I still got the bakes I needed for a birthday party but the one staff member I spoke with just didn't have great customer service and generally looked like they didn't want to be there. (The other lady seemed great but not the one that served me) When I asked for ice because I didn't want the cake to melt on the 45 min train ride I had, they didn't even try to help me with that (just said no we don't do that). As well, I couldn't hear what they were saying because of masks and covid screens which is understandable but maybe don't shake your head at the customer when they can't hear you. The cake was pretty standard for a chiffon cake though and did in fact get melty on the way home.
My favorite little stop for a snack, bite to eat and a coffee when I'm out and about. They have a bunch of different snacks, pastries and drinks here! Have been here many times
I have been getting special occasion cakes and other delicious treats from Sucre for YEARS! I've even got my friends and family hooked on this place too, one incredible pastry at a time. Sucre is my go-to bakery when I need impressive cakes at reasonable prices that are sure to wow my guests, and I have never been let down. Yin and the other Sucre staff consistently deliver exceptional customer service, and quality French pastries, freshly made in-house. They also have delicious GF cake options, so the GF people in your life can share in the experience.
Lovethe perfectly layered mango mousse cake!
Good place for coffee and chat with friends.
Delicious! & their bake at home products are great for Sunday mornings!
Preordered a birthday cake on their website and it exceeded my expectations! They require a 24 hr notice for their cakes, or you can call the store if you require a cake the day of. The website layout was simple to use. I really liked that they had pictures and descriptions of all the cakes they offered. They have a huge variety! I ordered a Mango Mousse Cake which featured vanilla cake, mango mousse, mango compote and fresh mangoes. This was the best mango mousse cake I've ever had! The cake was moist, and the compote elevated the cake's flavour profile. The 6" cake was $35. Well worth it! Judging from their website, their other pastries look excellent as well. I will be sure to return so I can try them!
Haven’t really tried anything besides the macaroons but they’re really yummy! Will be back for more
Absolutely love the almond croissants
I have been getting my birthday cake from here every year for 4 years in a row. I absolutely love the vibe and the food. Staff are the sweetest and they try hard to get you what you need to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Popular item almond croissant is pretty good but gets heavy halfway through. Croissant itself is not as flaky as I'd like it but the almond filling is good. Regular brewed coffee is a great combo with this! Not a big fan of the double cups they use instead of cup sleeves - this makes me always spill my coffee if I grab & go.
Great coffee, fantastic croissants.
Amazing pastries and cookies. Love the. Coffee. Quick counter service.
Modern and chic pastry shop. You can smell the aroma of fresh baked goods just at the door. Everything looks so delicious through the display. The macarons are meticulously crafted and they have a wide array of pastries. If you buy more than 6 pastries, there is no GST. The egg and avocado croissant was delicious as well.
The baked goods here are delicious, but one of the cashiers here is consistently rude/impatient with me. One time I mispronounced a word and she felt the need to correct me in a way that felt extremely condescending. It makes me want to avoid all her shifts.
I heard it was a nice place and decided to check it out with some of my girls. The food I ordered tasted great, however I ordered a large drink (I did repeat my order to make sure) but received a small. I wanted to overlook this honest mistake, however the cashier was not the friendliest and looked impatient despite being the only customers inside. Hopefully it’ll be a better experience next time as I do want to try more of their items!
Best latte I've had in Calgary. Definitely a must try!
Went here on my lunch break. Fantastic baked goods. They even went the extra mile and got me a fresh baked croissant from the oven. Staff are super nice. They even make art in your coffee! I will definitely be back. Unfortunately for my wallet.
The staff were wonderful and friendly without being overbearing, the atmosphere is cute and chic without seeming stuffy, and the food... oh man. As they'll tell you, it's all made in-house and it's. so. good. I've had each type of their macarons (save pistachio, 'cause I don't care for the flavor myself) and a cute little mango cake called "Symphonie". Both were amazing with a light and sweet taste that didn't sit heavy on the tongue. I'm also a sucker for London Fogs, and they used real vanilla beans to flavor it instead of the syrup every other cafe does! It was a surprise at first, but I vastly prefer this taste. If I had to describe this place in one word I would use... delicate, I think. Especially the flavors, which are very clear without overpowering the senses at all. It's refreshing and I hope they do well here; I'll definitely be back in the future!
They have good coffee and the banana chocolate croissant I tried was excellent. The pastry part was particularly well done. I found the pricing to be the same as other independent cafes. It's definitely worth checking out.
What they do, they do well. I can't come here and not walk out having spent $80+ Wonderful croissants! They also make awesome baguette sandwiches for lunch.
Wonderful service, delicious sweets, great atmosphere to meet friends.
Best cake and pastries I've had. Especially the matcha roll, Spanish latte, Black Forest cake and Tiramisu cake.????
Great coffee. Delicious pastries. You need to treat yourself
Their desert is super yammy. Many different flavours and new tastes. The coffee is good as well. Now they have breakfast sandwiches and they are so good. It is a bit pricy though. Nice for coffee dates.
Fully a jem! I have no idea why this place is working so hard, but dang. Get the avocado toast it is a handmade jem.
Fantastic little shop with quality coffee, and the sourdough is spot on! Lots of great dessert options as well.
Sucre is right under my work and I can't help but go every day for their coffee or pastries! The prices are a little steep but I have yet to order something that I haven't liked
I am really happy with the cake and your service. The cake arrived early and packed carefully so the decorations stay as it is. The cake itself was amazingly delicious. It was not too sweet, which my family loves. And thank you so much for your generous macarons on the cake. We loved it.
My wife's favourite cake is black forest. I have been on search for many years for the best. This year I decided to order a cake from Sucre Patisserie & Cafe. I ordered it last minute cause I needed the cake that same day. I called the order in because same day was not an option online. They were kind to accommodate me and and had the cake ready for me for pick up by 1:00 pm. We had served the cake last night and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly balanced. Perfect sweetness and the cream was so light could eat it all without adding that sweet sugar punch over load. I had 3 slices and didn't feel like I was going to go into diabetic shock. Not only did it taste amazing but it looked awesome. Hands down the best black forest cake we've had in town so far. So for my past reviews claiming this LOL. Thank you Sucre Patisserie & Cafe July 2021 I ordered an Anniversary cake over the phone. I ordered a special occasion cake and asked for the Macron cake with Gold drizzle. I confirmed the order twice because she had to call me back because there was a line up and the machine was not working. Not a big deal but when I picked up the cake I found out it was just the strawberry chiffon with Macaron topper. I was disappointed cause it was an Anniversary cake. The cake was still really good just didn't have the presentation I wanted. I would still order a cake from here again because it is so good. Just not sure how they can improve on the ordering to make sure that is is perfect. I did get an apology from the staff when I said that is not the right cake. Aug 2021 Ordered a birthday cake for my daughter. They did an amazing job. The cake was beautiful. I ordered online and I called again to verify the order. The Macarons we good and the kids loved it. I opted for the chocolate obsession. It is a heavy cake and sweet. My daughter loves chocolate. I’m more into the fruit flavours. So the next one will be the mango!!
Such a delicious place! Great for Sunday Fundays!
Not too sweet. I like it.
Great coffee, great desert. Great place to chill in the middle of the day
Almond croissants are as close to perfection as pastry can be. I embarked on a mission to try every item on the menu. Having their blueberry danish with cream can turn one into an addict so proceed with caution.
The matcha cheesecake is very tender. The Sorting Hat from Harry Potter hides the decision inside the merengue cookies!
Great place with good coffee and amazing looking treats
Limited seating, but in the summer when the tables are out it is a good place to drink a latte and people watch. The selection of baked goods is great. Try the macarons and the croissants.
My favourite cake bakery in Calgary! Their chocolate banana caramel (Dulcey) cake is AMAZING. Same with their tiramisu! Not too sweet and soooo moist. We also had them do our simple wedding cake and macaron tower for our wedding (~$190 for the cake and about $2.50 per macaron for the tower and we had about 50). These were all so delicious as well. For the wedding cake, Yin (the owner) explained that she couldn't do her usual icing and so we had to use buttercream so it didn't melt on display. We don't normally like buttercream, but for the sake of photos we did it. Yin kept in mind that we don't like anything too sweet and adjusted it as it didn't turn out to be too sweet. They will deliver for $50 and helped set the tables, and Yin is so easy to work with as well! Will keep coming back (but not too much for the sake of my waistline) ;).
A very chic patisserie, perfect if you're looking for something small and quaint and the food is quite tasty as well.
They have the best cKes in calgary. Being in the United States,I was so paranoid about getting a custom baked cake for my friends 25th birthday. When I reached out to them , they replied back soo politely and were very patient with me throughout the whole process. Yin I think is the manager of the store, took care of all of my expectations and baked me a cake which was beyond my expectations. It was so beautifully made and tasted delicious. Kudos to the whole team and their efforts. I am so thankful to them.
I'm not a macaron expert but these macarons were so good, and the blueberry danish had light flaky crust and delicious filling with cream cheese.
Got here by accident but it was a beautiful one, i guess benefits of walking around anyways its a cute cafe love the interior and staff is helpful. I ordered ham and cheese and it was a delish cant wait to try more of there items and hopefully banned will uplift so i can try dine in experience.
Delicious pastries and kind staff
It is open for dine-in but it is very expensive in my opinion. I got a croissant breakfast sandwich, with egg, 1/2 avocado, extra tomato and lettuce, for just over $9. Most of the food options start at $7, but the pastries are relatively affordable at $3-4 each. Overall, it was a tasty and satisfying meal and the croissant was crunchy, flaky, and fresh. I still found it to be expensive for just a vegetarian breakfast sandwich. ????????????
I ordered a cake for my niece's birthday online. It was easy to order and pay. It would have been nice to have clearer pick up instructions or even a reminder email to let us know the order was confirmed or not. Anyways we took blind faith and showed up at the store on the day of pick up and alas the cake was there. It was both beautiful and delicious. The cake was nice and moist and wasn't overly sweet contrary to the name of the bakery My niece especially loved the macarons on top! Thank you for a wonderful cake. Oh we also got some pastries. Was in a rush to eat so didn't get pictures but they were also delicious. Flaky and buttery just the way I like them.
Great service and amazing flavor for drinks and deserts. Their presentation of the food in the displays is photo worthy, and the space gives an open feel at the corner of the building. They even have free coffee cards if are a regular or if you like treating others for coffee. It all comes to gether for a fantastic experience.
This cafe is so cute. The coffee is good and the almond croissants is among the best that I've had in Calgary!
Worst coffee/Latte I've had in my life. Didn't try the pastries (it looks good tbh)
The desserts are amazing, however the experience is lacking. They don't bring anything to your table and your barista is on the opposite side of the restaurant. You need to walk through the people ordering, and the people waiting to get their coffee, then back again. When I suggested to a member of the staff that they should take a lady seated at her table her drink, the staff got confused like it was a new concept. The older man behind the counter discouraged it. So great marks for taste, but minus a few for not giving thought to the customer experience.
Great little shop. It is the type of place that could be found in the heart of Paris but is instead right in Calgary. The owner is super nice and very willing to accommodate special requests. Highly recommended.
Had taken an order to go and also the place is nice and seriously good cakes and great pricing for all of their cakes.
The best patisserie so far in my view.
Beautiful little cafe, very clean and bright. Good atmosphere, friendly staff, and the black forest cake was delicious. I will definitely visit this place the next time I'm in the city.
Ordered the blueberry yogurt cream cheese cake to celebrate recent engagement, wasn't disappointed! Ate almost half a cake by myself! It's light and creamy without being overly sweet, almost guilt-free as described on their website!! The shop is beautiful and I cannot wait to try more items!
Good place and the pastries are delicious. A little on the pricier side but to be expected. Overall pretty good. - side note, don't use skip the dishes to order pastries from here, alot of the time the pastries you order won't be available as they only bake a set amount daily - The sandwiches will be available tho
Pastries are superb, I would recommend to try the macarons!
Great coffee and an excellent selection of cakes and pastries. My blueberry scone was delicious (slightly salty, which really complemented the sweetness of the blueberry) and my partner had a coconut pastry consisting of flaky pastry topped with toasted coconut and a lovely coconut paste filling.
Nice place. The shortbread based cookies are very dry, and usually lack flavour. Everything LOOKS great though.
Obsessed with their cakes and it's not sweet at all! This one is the mango coconut cake <3
I had heard that Sucre was a nice place and decided by chance to order a birthday cake. I did not hold or have any expectations of how closely the cake would resemble the picture online or what it would taste like. When I picked the cake up it looked even better than the online picture. (pictures sometimes don't do anything justice) The cake was beautifully decorated but the true test was going to be the taste. It did not disappoint, we ordered the Pink Macaron Cake with gold drizzle (Strawberry Chiffon flavor). Hand's down the best cake ever purchased, beautiful on the inside (taste wise) and beautiful on the outside! The look on our daughter's face when she saw the cake was priceless. We were all very impressed! I will be a repeat customer for sure!
Beautiful and delicious, reliably consistent to boot!
I've purchased things from here a few times now and it's always been fantastic. Most recently they made me a "high tea" to go for a picnic. It was outstanding and very reasonably priced. They have some of the best baked good I've ever had. Apple Danish and Raspberry Scones are my favorite.
Great place. They have the heating set way too high.
Cute spot for sweet treats with a great story
I tried the macarons here. They are tiny little heavens!!! Staff are very friendly and fast. When I went there, the place was packed a lot of people waiting, a staff was able to help me right away. Great service!
Super yummy desserts and treats!!!
Very authentic french patisseries served here. I ordered the apple croissant and was immediately impressed with the crisp texture and the buttery flavour. Immediately transported me back to Paris. You will not be disappointed!
Good quality product, a very nice place in downtown to sit and chat with your family and friends
I work close by so this spot has become one of my favourites for indulging and it never disappoints. I've tried their soup and sandwich along with their cookies, cakes and tea. Everything I've tried has been delicious. I highly recommend this cute little spot for any cheat day or for your emotional eating needs to make it through this pandemic.
I honestly don't take the time to leave reviews often but this place was absolutely amazing and delicious. I ordered an assortment of pastries and a croissant sandwich and all of it fantastic. Some of the best croissants I've ever had!! The espresso shortbread cookies melt in your mouth with a little kick! I can't wait to go back and try more!!! Thank you for the delicious treats!!
I love their pastries! We had a cheesecake made for a birthday and it was the best we’ve tried in Calgary!
I ordered this cake for my girlfriends birthday and it was absolutely sensational and so beautiful. 10/10 would order from here again. Thanks for helping make her day special! The only (very small) improvement I’d suggest would be better communication - ordered online and all I got was an automated receipt - had to chase twice for a response. Would be good to get a confirmation of my specific requests + pick up instructions.
Cute shop; however, their was minimal GF baked options which was a let down.
Love the pastries here, amazing. Drinks are good but overpriced. They have a stamp card for coffee beverages however if you get a frap, which is more money than a latte, they won't give you a stamp because no coffee in it. A little silly for what you pay there it should be for any handcrafted beverage. Staff isn't always the friendliest.
A little pricey but worth every penny! YUM
The macrons are perfection, and the other baked goods are fresh and full of flavour. The customer service is great! Last week I was on a walk with my hubby and we bought a dozen macrons and than realized that the +30• temperature might be a bad idea as we had a few errands to run. The server kindly said she would keep the order in the cooler until we were finished errands and could come back and pick them up. We did that and had perfect macrons and champagne on our balcony that night. Really appreciated customer service! Will be back and strongly recommend this bakery
Ordered a cake many days ahead-- they even called back to confirm the order and tell me that some things weren't available. (So we had to reconfirm some changes and if it's okay) Day of the delivery--- cake doesn't arrive. Have been trying to call for the past hour and reach out through every single platform. Finally got through on the phone after an hour (phone line was busy), and the automated message tells me that they are still open for another hour-- but no one is picking up. The memory is full so I can't leave a message-- I'm assuming everyone else is calling and leaving messages about the same issues.(That's why they've been busy for at least an hour now on the phone) ----- Edit: Finally got through to bakery (a real person) and was told that they would call me back but they have no idea/control over the order because it's apparently handled through a third party. Waiting for callback now, but this is not a really fun experience so far.
Love the place, great choux au craquelin if that is what they were, as usually I find the cracked to be more flaky and fall off but that maybe just a fault in my recipe. Although they offered a welcomed twist to the classic cream found in the choux pastry and have a lovely aesthetic.
The cream puffs are AMAZING. Such a cute little location as well.
Oh myyyy... so many amazing pastries and cakes! Highly recommend this place. Went with a group and we each got one and shared amongst all.
Carmel Latte and Avocado Toast with Tomatoes were both a great afternoon treat. Variety of coffee related beverages and pastries available.
Wonderful little cafe, super helpful staff and fresh baked goods. A nice little place to enjoy a dessert and a drink, they also have savoury pastries if sweets aren't your thing. I will definitely be back as I was pleasantly surprised by the selection and taste.
Poor management. Came and stood for 5 mins no one greet and ask what I need to buy. Expensive items for small portion. Staff can Barely speak English . Not recommend this location at all
I love this place. They had butter beer macaron! So good.
The desserts are tasty but pricey, and the sandwich I had was lack luster especially for the price
Delicious pastries, I don’t come to this place often enough. Reminds me so much of my trip to France.
Some of the best cake and pastries I've had. I'll always go here for special occasions, birthday etc. Ordering online is easy and can be done in advance. Can be a bit pricier than other options but a little more goes a long way.
Best French macaroons in Calgary at an affordable price. Love love love the vanilla latte and almond chips. I would go here more often if one of their baristas did not give me “the look” when I told her about my cinnamon allergy. Instead tell me something that I need to know before I make a purchase like: there’s cinnamon in the coconut macaroon?? That way I would not feel like I’m being judged or waste my money on something she clearly knew I can’t have. Still giving four stars cuz she makes pretty good vanilla latte and other pastries are delicious.
Been here a few times and always had good experiences. The coffees and lattes are nice. Recently we tried the sandwiches and found them to be quite tasty. And of course we love the pastries. The staff are usually friendly and pleasant.
Americano was not fresh at all.Very bad taste. Not recommended
One of my family's favourite bakeries for cakes & pastries in YYC! They have beautiful and delicious cakes + very friendly and helpful staff who were super accommodating with a recent bday cake order! I highly recommend Sucre if you haven't already tried!
Sucre is a really nice place for a short sit down and satiating your sweet tooth. The coffee here isn’t the best in Calgary but it gets the job done. The pastries on the other hand are masterful. I have been here on various occasions just to have a pastry or the sort and have always enjoyed whatever I’ve ended up getting. Really recommend trying out this place if you have a sweet tooth like I do.
Small, but cozy & aesthetically cute coffee spot to work out of and enjoy delicious pastries. Their dirty chai latte is lovely. Vegan/ veg options available
They make their own caramel for their caramel lattes and other desserts, it's fantastic. I've never had better sweets!
Amazing baked goods. So yummy. The staff is amazing to
Firstly I'd like to say a big THANK YOU for making me the most amazing birthday cake I've ever had! It was beautiful and delicious, I sent them an image from Pinterest and they were able to create exactly what I wanted. Definitely ordering from them again!
Very unfriendly staff((((. The service was terrible????????????
The deserts are so beautiful and they actually taste good. I find it's so hard to find a cafe with nice looking deserts that actually taste as good as they look, and this cafe manages to do just that. The lattes we had tasted great as well.
Mostly awesome! The cakes and pastries are fabulous! I would totally be 250 pounds if I lived walking distance to Sucre! The staff can be a little hit or miss though. I get the feeling they expect a tip even when you run in to pick up a cake. Why? Other than that, totally recommend!
If you are trying to cut back on sugar this bakery /cafe will prove too tempting. I took home monkey bread, granola, a salted caramel scone and the best blueberry muffins I have ever eaten...better than my own!!!
Attention to detail. Very clean cafe. All good baked in house. Probably the most delicious cappuccino I've had so far in my life. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. You must stop here for.... anything. Just stopped here again (I try to every time I'm in downtown Calgary) and had some shortbread cookies (AMAZING) and a latte (also AMAZING). Keep rockin it, people! Love this place!!
Saw this place during my lunch break from work. Must of just opened? Anyway they have amazing desserts and AMAZING coffee! Definitely where I start my morning :)
I tried the confit duck sandwich and it's truly awful the ciabatta was soft and soggy making me think it was heated up in a microwave. The hole thing is the greasy it's hard to finish. Please take in to account this review is based on one badly thought out sandwich and although I didn't try the baked goods they did look appetising.
So friendly and nice. Always accommodating. Possibly the best almond croissants in Calgary thus far.
make sure to try their tiramisu, it's the best :) croissants are unmatchable.
Serving Matchstick coffee which is delicious. Very friendly staff. Amazing pastries and now making bread in house!
Our Black Forest cake is delicious and well presented.
So I absolutely loved this little cafe -- it was my go-to spot for a delicious treat and drink. But on Friday, September 21st, my husband and I stopped by after work and what we saw HORRIFIED us. As we were eating, we saw a young lady staff member start cleaning the shelves where the food sits inside the display cooler. She took out three cakes but left all the rest of the food inside and then proceeded to spray Windex DIRECTLY onto the shelves, using a dirty cloth to wipe up. Because she sprayed the Windex directly onto the shelves instead of onto the cloth, Windex particles misted onto the uncovered food next to it. It was disgusting! You have sadly lost customers after I told this to all of our friends/family and I really hope you speak to your staff about the proper ways of cleaning because you could make someone very sick!
Great service but black Forrest cake was so bad…
My friend and I dropped by the new location on Centre Street after our climbing session and on our way to a Christmas market. We bought the Morning Bun, a cheese croissant, and a variety of sugar cookies and everything was so delicious ! ???? we plan to go back again this week ! The have a variety of original recipes/baked goods-their own twist on classic baked goods. Nom nom! So good!
Sucre is a delicious patisserie where the mood is peaceful and calming. I had a pain au chocolat with a hot chocolate while watching outside. I will go again and again when in Downtown!
This is my favorite pastry shop in Calgary. Besides traditional pastries, they have this delicious passion fruit one as well (forget the name). Finding seating can be tricky is all.
Sucre patisserie has the best cakes in the town . This place has never disappointed me with the taste and quality. It has always been consistent and delicious. Especially with the custom cakes , the lady makes it exactly the way you describe and also gives suggestion which make the cake look more beautiful . Thank you for making these yummy cakes :)
Sucre never disappoints! I've been pleased everytime I've tried their cookies, pastries and cakes. Delivery was also seamless and anytime I've asked a question I've been responded to promptly and respectfully. Truly a gem with delicious goodies in our city!
I love bakeries! My sisters and I can say this did not disappoint. For sure would come again! Thank you!
Great Patisserie & Friendly Staff.
We have been there 4 times in last 2 weeks. I am in love with this place
Ordered the gluten free tiramisu cake for my mom's 70th birthday. It was absolutely DELICIOUS! It was moist and the flavours were divine! 5+ stars!
I have ordered cake with Description to mentioned on cake, but i recd cake it was just blank cake with with no message... very disappointing and when i call customer service they were not supportive. I really disappointed with this.
Mango cake was not that I expected, to much heavy cream almost no cake
Went there Sunday (Nov.28) around 10am.A short hair girl with round glasses I have never seen before was working there.( I go there 2-3 times a week) She was extremely rude. I ordered the earl grey tea croissant and blueberry danish. She grabbed the wrong chocolate one so I told her it wasn’t the one I wanted. She got up set with me and said “No,that’s the one you ordered.” I said “No,I ordered the earl grey tea one.” And then she said “Ugh.I didn’t charge you for the earl grey tea one now I have to charge you extra dollar.” I said “It’s fine.” Then she slammed my pastries together and took my payment impatiently. So now my favorite blueberry danish is all stick with the paper-bag. All the other people work there are nice but this girl is just so rude.
I ordered a selection of croissants, individual cakes and cookies. The pain au chocolate was the best one I ever ate and the desserts and cakes are heaven! I also tried the peanut butter sandwich cookie and it melts in the mouth. I can't wait to visit in person and order coffee and hot chocolate!!! ????
My sister & I went there for coffee & cakes around noon. It was quite busy with office lunch crowd. It's not our first time there. They serve food like sandwiches & pies besides the usual pastries. Price is a bit steep. That day the Yucca Roll Cake & Black forest slice was rather disappointing, so was the Spinach pastry.
Love this place! The pastries are amazing. This is definitely a go to for me, I often walk over grab some delightful treats
best cakes
Great little patisserie in downtown. We tried the mango coconut cake and the tiramisu cake and both were spectacular. Both cakes had good flavour without being overly sweet which was a plus. Also almond croissants are a must try. They are heavy but the almond filling is just perfect. This will be my new go to spot for birthday cakes and other desserts. Service was prompt but not much place to sit at this patisserie as it is quite small.
A perfect spot for a lovely lunch or a delicious treat. This was my go to when I worked nearby for a morning Chai. They have great service and even better food. Their desserts are beautiful and the dinks are always unique and full of flavour.
Beautiful and artistic lattes and baked goods. A little dirty but was there on a saturday
The cappuccino and pain au chocolat were so tasty! A bit on the expensive side, but normal for a cafe and bakery of this caliber. Would go back for sure!!
The service is hit or miss, not allot of variety and the space is small and normally allot of crumbs on the table and seats. Its ok, but barely.
I first tried these pastries when they had a pop-up store in my work building. I was addicted after that. I ordered the "bake at home" option that comes frozen and they delivered them to my home. DID NOT DISAPPOINT! I will be ordering more.
Ordered an assortment of sweet and savory items for an afternoon tea from Sucre and everything was delicious. Very happy with the quality of the food, Would recommend!
Luv luv the almond croissant. The shortbread is also nice.
Small interior and sub-par ambience. If you are looking for great coffee and delicious pastries, there are many other more worthwhile contenders around town. Apparently the cakes are quite good, We did not have a chance to taste during our visit.
