I somehow gotta gift certificate for 10 dollars for this bakery so that is why I came down here in dragon city mall to get some bakery buns. I find they do not have a huge selection, or just maybe the time that I went, which was like 3:00 pm. The egg tarts are good, and they are not bad, but you have to try the bakery up by centre and 16 avenue in the other Asian mall, waaaaay better, believe me.

This is such a hidden gem in Calgary and has the most delicious coconut buns! There is so much filling and they are so buttery, absolutely delicious. The staff are so nice too! Love these secret places! Also very affordable.

Might be run the sweetest people I've met - we were greeted with big smiles and they even offered a free mini egg tart for my toddler as a gesture of thanks for the large order I placed. This place is one of my most loved in the city, and makes me the happiest. This little cramped spot turns out simple, tasty delicious savory and sweet treats. Most items can constitute a small, satisfying meal. Among my favourites: the fresh pineapple buns and coconut (nata style) tarts. One of the best deals in town.

Always consistent Chinese bakery. We usually stock up for the week on the crispy pineapple buns amongst other things. There are times when they run out, so get them while you can.

I love this place. The people there are so patient and friendly. The quality of their desserts is second to none. Their service is worth mentioning. They bend over backwards for ensuring that the customer leaves happy. Every time I order a cake, I ask for different flavors not on the menu to try it out. The last cake had yellow yam and red sweet potato filling. Trust me, it was really tasty. Thank you guys for the birthday cake this past weekend. Their desserts there are also very good! Truly outstanding!

Buns are no doubt the best thing to get here whereas the filled rice cakes are quite debatable. My friends love them and I don't so for my preference I wouldn't buy them for myself per-say but for my friends is a definite yes. I would recommend the hotdog bun, curry bun and the pineapple bun- those are my primary go-to buns.

Amazing bakery the owners are great.Very affordable price.I got 5 items for $5 dollars.3 mini red bean & 2 red bean sticky rice. Yum Yum. If it’s your first time try one thing of couple things. I prefer the mini because more affordable and I can get more of different things. I recommend this bakery Chinatown inside Dragon city. I recommend you to pay cash with Credit card they charge extra $.50. I don’t know about debt card.

I've loved this bakery since I was young and I will continue to go to this bakery as long as it is there. I have a few dietary restrictions and Rainbow Bakery was able to accommodate and make me a custom order for moon cakes this year, and I will be forever grateful. I usually have so much trouble finding moon cakes that I am able to eat, so I am glad to know I can get them from here every year to fit my dietary needs. Not to mention, they were absolutely delicious!

A great bakery with amazing owners. Their baked goods are always consistently cheap and fulfilling. They're one of Chinatown's mainstays, particularly for their elderly residents. I'm a sucker for egg tarts. When they're available and freshly baked, do grab one--or two--or fifteen!

Great little bakery located inside dragon city mall. I personally really enjoy their BBQ pork buns, they've got this great mix of meat and vegetable that really works well. If you're looking for sweets, you're in luck as well! They have a pretty large selection of sweets baked every morning.

Located inside Dragon City Mall is this gem where you can buy cheap but delicious Asian buns (around $2 each) and other baked goods! I don't think I've ever walked by without picking something (or a couple things) up. Buy 6 items and it's tax free. My personal favourites are the curry chicken bun and egg tarts!

Delicious bakery with a fresh selection of sweet or savory buns and so many treats! The hot dog bun with dressing is a must try, has been my favorite item since I was a kid. They also accept debit now which is a huge convenience. Buns are priced at 20% off after 5PM!

This is a small bakery inside the chinatown mall on the main floor. Whe we are in Calgary I make sure to go here to buy some goodies to take home with us. The buns are big and delicious. Always Fresh. The lady in the counter I believe owns the place is always wonderful. Love supporting small business such as this one. They are hard working people.

This small bakery is as authentic as you can get without travelling to China. It reminds me of the local street food there and always tastes delicious. They are also super reasonably priced! Just check the hours though because they are closed Mondays.

Excellent customer service and equally delicious cake. The lady at counter and very helpful and patient, and provided me with good suggestions for a last moment cake purchase. She even decorated the mango mousse cake in very beautiful way. You can see the efforts and dedication they put into in form of an artistic and mouthwatering cake, made by heart. One of the most genuine place i have ever seen. The birthday boy and all my friends loved the cake and it was the best mango mousse i ever had. This bakery is hidden on the main floor of the Dragon City Mall in Chinatown (just in by the base of the escalators). This little bakery is family owned and operated for more than a decade. Their baked goods and specialty items are always on point... delicious, warm, and tasty. While it is downtown, there is underground parking that makes it easily accessible.

Delicious! i have a passion for asian culture and this is the place to come for asian baked goods! from Coconut buns to chinese mini donuts the choice is yours which one to choose... though part is, they are all good! (little tip i learnt from a friend, if youre there at 12 or 4 make sure to ask for the Coconut Creme Bun, they sell out fast and are only given to the people who know about it!)

I discovered this place while taking a walk from work. It was around 6:30 P.M. I decided to get inside the Dragon City Mall and saw this bakery where the bread were being sold at 20% off and if you buy 6 pcs there would be no GST. There were 2 Tuna sandwiches left so I grabbed them before anybody else could. I took 3 of the puff duck eggs and 3 other small pastries. I had a treat for less than $7. Btw, the 20% off is when it's 5 P.M and beyond.

Literally the highlight of my trips to Calgary. The flavor and textures of their baked goods are some of the best I've had anywhere. They have Chinese buns, cookies, as well as roll cakes, all of which are excellent. The prices of the goods are very reasonable, and all their staff are extremely friendly. I highly recommend it.

Friendly service from this family run bakery. I routinely return here as if their buns contain sweet sweet opium (it doesn't actually contain opium, they are law abiding, nice people, their buns are just really really good). They accept visa/debit now which has been terrible for my finances. Oh what I would do for one of their delicious BBQ pork buns. I had once came while they put out a freshly baked batch of buns and... my god - a single bite cured me of my scoliosis. 5/5 would eat again.

Unbelievably great everything. Been coming here for 20 years and it's just as good as it ever was. Egg tarts, curry beef buns, coconut tarts, and their new frozen dumplings (best in Calgary) are all highlights. Have lived in Taiwan for the last 7 years and this is as good as anything I've had back there. Try!

Been going here since I was a kid. So, over a decade. When you first enter, you will see some trays and tongs for you to pick your selection. I often buy a few extra buns to eat as a midnight snack. In particular, I love their coconut creme buns, but they tend to run out quick! I believe it's baked during certain times, so best bet is to ask. The creme has just the right amount of 'dairy' flavour, but not overly powering. Big fan of their hot dog buns too, but that's mainly cause I like hotdog buns in general. The other things I get when I go there include the little lemon cakes (nice tangy flavour), and the lemon cookies (a delicious treat!). To top it off, staff are very friendly. Make sure to bring cash! :)

I had been searching for a specific pastry that we get at the Chinese bakery in the Caribbean called Black Bean Cake. I knew full well, us Caribbean people had the name wrong. I called Rainbow Bakery asking for the pastry and they insisted I was looking for Red Bean pastry. I was skeptical but the lovely lady insisted I try the red bean. She didn't have any made but offered to make me some fresh and told me they would be ready within 45 mins. I arrived within an hour and she handed over the still steaming hot pastries. Turns out...they were exactly what I was looking for and tasted exactly like the ones from back home. What amazing service!!!

Great place to go every time you go to downtown, everything goes down in price after 5pm, the bakery owner bakes the pastry’s and breads fresh everyday. The prices are relatively cheap the pastry’s taste good and often leaves you with a full stomach. If you’re planning to go I would recommend the egg tart and bbq pork bun.
