Awesome Spot. Great food, service, atmosphere, and setting. We had traditional and duck eggs Benny. Both were amazing. The duck Benny had a flavor of Christmas dinner and eggs benny together. I would never think that would work but, OH My, it does, it does. Also, we had the small batch of donuts and they were hot/warm, fresh and maybe we should had ordered a set to go. High Recommendation.

Terrible servers. They didn't come to clean the table I wanted to sit at. They just came to say I should move to another table. So the time it took both servers to tell me the same thing they could have taken the dirty dishes away that I stacked and placed to the side for them to take away. The dinning room wasn't busy at all so I don't know that the problem was. So I won't be going back and recommending my friends to go somewhere else.

This place is super nice and cozy. We had brunch here and the food quality was great. Staff are so kind and friendly and provide great service. We walked in with a smile, and walked out with a bigger smile on our faces! Their pastries are a must try! So fresh and nicely decorated . If you’re looking for a true french pastry this is the place! Highly recommended

Not the friendliest establishment but compared to my time in France, this place would be considered by the French to be 'positively brimming over with enthusiasm' which says more about the snooty French cafes then it does about this place. The croissants were excellent but my cafe au lait had to be changed to a latte because the coffee was brewing???? Weird. The latte was good. A local shop that deserves our support but I'll reserve final judgement for a return visit in the summer. #BUYLOCAL. Some of those other pasteries looked really, really good.

My mom, myself and 1 year old went for lunch today. We were seated quickly and the waitress brought a high chair straight to the table. We were then brought water and she took our drink orders. At that time I asked if we could grab a pastry as my son was hungry and I did want him to fuss until the food came out. The waitress brought that out promptly with our drink order. We ordered our meals and enjoyed our time while we waited. Once our food came out (which was an average wait time) we were delighted. I ordered the braised short rib and it was very appealing to look at (your eyes eat first). My mother ordered the spinach risotto with shrimp. Everything was fantastic! The flavours on my short rib dish were fantastic!!! My son gobbled some of it up too. My mothers risotto was cooked perfectly and it was creamy with the cheese mixed in. The service was fantastic and the meals were great! I would recommend this place to anyone. All the kitchen staff waved to my son as we left, leaving us all grinning out the door! Thank you!!!!

I work here, a small locally owned and operated bakery/cafe, and if you had asked me (the Owner and quite a few others working here in fact) what un cannelé was, I could have told you. True we are busy and at times crazy busy, but like any small business we are trying to juggle with rising operating costs. We strive to keep a certain level of service while not overstaffing during the slower times and it is a challenge for sure! Yet we are busy and that speaks volume for the caring staff doing their best to deliver tasty (home cooked style) food to your table. If we were so terrible, surely we would stop being busy?

Great little bakery, we had breakfast and the was ok. It was busy which is nice to see. I had the eggs benedict which I must say was not the best I have ever had, I found the hash browns had that oldish taste, my suggestion is maybe prepare them a little closer to time of serving. The meal could have been hotter as well. The eggs were cooked to perfection. I will give them another try as they also have an amazing collection of cakes, pastries and breads.

The food is really good and at a decent price. There is a pretty wide selection of breakfast foods with traditional and unique breakfast meals. They also have a menu for lunch and dinner but are more limited in choices. Definitely a great place for local, well priced food with a nice location and decor.

Unfortunately this low review comes from the customer service I received- it says a lot about a business how they handle a situation gone wrong and in this case, the rudeness and unprofessionalism in how they handled mine supports this low review. When I ordered my cake and picked it up, the staff was very polite, no issues there. I ordered a German Chocolate cake only to realize when cutting the cake that it appeared to be just a regular chocolate cake. I googled German Chocolate cakes to see if I could find the style that they made, which is different to what I am use to, but couldn't, so I figured I got the wrong cake by mistake, as the cake I was expecting for a German chocolate cake would have the coconut-pecan frosting and layers. (When you google German Chocolate cake, this is standard.) I called the bakery this morning to confirm if my order was correct and clarify how they make theirs and the lady I spoke to was so extremely rude and gave me so much attitude. They confirmed that the cake was correct so I very politely recommended that since the standard German chocolate cake is very different that it may help if they review the description of the cake when people are ordering as this was very different from what I was expecting. She was clearly not interested in that feedback and spoke to me like I was an idiot. I had no hard feelings when calling to clarify and wasn't looking for anything, but the way she responded to my call was so unprofessional and poor customer service that I will definitely not be using this bakery again and will be sure to let others know of the customer service.

Today I tried 3 items. Tiramisu, pistachio mousse cake and a Cannelloni. That Mousse cake was delicous. All items were fresh. All items were roughly $5.50 each. Like other reviewers have said, we wish the prices and flavors were listed infront of each pastry, to refer to instead of asking a bunch of questions. Even if it's on mini chalk boards, easily wipeable for new items being made. Nonetheless: Best quiche I've ever had. The Friday cronuts are 10/10. Pastries look decadent. As well as the cakes. They sell loaves of banana breads as well as mini tarts. I'd like to sit down and try their menu. Service was very kind. Thank you!!!

I ordered some cronuts and some apple fritters through Messenger yesterday and they were awaiting me at 9:00 this morning. When I got there I had to order another treat and a cinnamon chocolate cinnamon bun because they just looked so delicious, I'm going to call it self-care this weekend (-; ordering went smoothly, there was a small line but went quick, incredibly friendly people inside and delicious treats. Well worth a visit here.

Awful. After seating, we waited 5 or so minutes just to receive water and menus which the waitress slammed on our table as if agitated by our presence. In the few rare occasions she made an appearance to actually wait on us, her indignant attitude made it clear that our requests for things such as coffee (which we had to ask twice for, they never brought the pot around otherwise) or water (which we never received a single refill for) were a nuisance. This was coupled with our grudgingly long stay as a result of overall long wait times. I'm reminded of an ancient adage, long forgotten within the walls of our society: "tips are earned, not promised." Yet such a proverb could not hold more true than in a place like this. You're probably wondering about the food: it was okay. We asked for soft yolks in our eggs benedict and they came medium-hard. For a local eatery, it is more expensive than finer brunch establishments near downtown. I know where I won't be going in the future.

Wonderful little bakery! We now call Fridays "Cronut Day" and look forward to our weekly visits. My only suggestion would be to offer a couple of dairy/egg free items, as my husband can't eat anything here so we don't come in for meals, just for little treats.

Food is generally good but some items are hit or miss and are overpriced. Service is really lacking when you are able to sit in - pre pandemic. Since the pandemic has been here over a year now they can't be bothered to update hours on their website for take out. Apparently pandemic means lazy... just like how they use mayonnaise instead of bechamel on their 'croque monsier' and then throw it haphazardly into a take-out container so all the cheese is on the container instead of the bread. You would think seeing as take-out is their only service they'd have more pride in their product. Live in the neighborhood but will never recommend or return.

What can I say? We saw the posts about their cronuts and followed on social media. All of a sudden 8 months later, here I am driving all the way from Martindale every friday or second friday for these cronuts and their AMAZING high quality eggs. They also have all kinds of other bakery desserts and staples, and even stuff for alternative diets too! If you've heard about this place from your friends, stop wasting your time and make the drive!

Ordered a 10 inch chocolate marquis cake for my husband's birthday this Saturday. I called and ordered over the phone 3 days prior. The cake was moist and not overly sweet. My husband loved it. It was decorated with fresh fruits which from my understanding is the only way they decorate. The value is great as well! Will probably order for my bday too.

Great food, nice atmosphere, good service. This day and age, with everything going on in the world. I believe they should be enforcing the government protocol for covid. A little thing like wearing a mask. Had a great brunch here and literally watched a guy walk in wait 11 minutes for his food with no mask on for takeout. Yet we had to wait outside because they only serve three customers at a time if going to the bakery. Just an observation would recommend coming to this place.

Patisserie du Soleil Bakery Cafe in Calgary, AB specializes in traditional and signature French pastries; as well as, a selection of espresso, coffees and savory dishes daily. Its a good neighbourhood bakery and cafe. When you first enter to the front of you and to the left they will have pastries and desserts in the display coolers and fresh baked bread where you can purchase and pay at the front cash register. Unfortunately, we weren’t welcomed to kindly. There was a sign to wait and be seated but while we were waiting we wanted to just see what desserts they were offering in their display coolers. A staff member approached us from behind the coolers and asked if we wanted anything and we told her we were waiting to be seated. She shrugged and rolled her eyes and quickly walked away. Not sure why she did that, and we definitely wanted to leave but fortunately for her we were all pretty hungry and decided to stay. Our server was great and the food was good. Overall, I would come back here. My advice is don’t peruse the display coolers if you are waiting to be seated or else you might be met by the display cooler police! We really enjoy visiting this unique local patisserie with excellent baking and friendly service. My review is mainly to make a couple of suggestions to enhance the experience. It would look wonderful if you had the windows washed and put up some café curtains to give a certain ambiance and a little privacy to diners.

The food was great, but service was really poor. I ordered eggs Benedict special (with bacon, mushroom, onion) and it was delicious. The hashbrowns and fruit were good as well, and I thought the pricing was fair ($15). I also got a cappuccino which was good if you like Italian style cappuccino, and a desert which was great. Overall I enjoyed the food enough to return, but the kitchen is slow and servers do not seem to be professionals.

I had ordered catering from here for a baby shower and do I ever regret that decision. I'd ordered scones and sandwiches, which I confirmed in advance could be done as tea sandwiches. I received and email the day I placed my order asking which location I wanted to pick up from and then heard nothing back after that. I emailed again a week later following up in a previous question and was told the manager would get back to me. The day before the baby shower I called in as I still hadn't heard back, just to confirm my order would actually be ready. I arrived at the bakery to pick up my order and they could not find the scones, turns out they had gone out with the wrong catering order. Then when they gave the sandwiches they were not correct. The bakery fixed the sandwiches, but the sandwiches on foccacia were dry, the beef and boursin didn't have boursin on them, the turkey and cranberry was missing the cranberry. I was at the bakery for almost 45 minutes and was late to the even that I was hosting because of this lack of attention. For the scones, someone came out from the kitchen and said that he can bake fresh ones and asked if I could wait. I said no, as I was already late and asked them to deliver them, as the venue was less than 5 minutes away. He agreed and said the scones would take approximately 15 minutes to bake so we would have them soon. An hour later, we we're still without scones, so I call back and was told that the person delivering them just left the bakery and was on the way. From taht point it still took almost 20 minutes. On top of all this, the scones were completely over-baked and some tasted burnt. The following day I sent an email to the manager letting him know about the experience I'd had and asked for him to follow up. After a week of waiting I emailed again station g that I expected a response the following day, which I got but it was the most pathetic, thoughtless response. He offered me a $30 refund (I had been given ~$12 off when I paid at pick up). My father owned a small f&b establishment, so I know the work that goes into running a business such as this, which is why I choose to support local businesses, but I will never beback to the Patisserie du Solieil and 100% would not recommend them to anyone. The manager clearly doesn't care about customers and they are unreliable.

Came here for the first time since they have good reviews.. I asked the front staff what flavors are the little desserts since they don't have a description she seemed annoyed.. it wasn't even busy but she gave attitude.. I brushed it off and wanted to treat my siblings to nice desserts which were decent but not worth the high price.. the meat rolls were good though and fair price. The pies are the worst! They look so pretty but hard as a rock even after heating it up a little did not taste good and so thin!... the danish they have is very good though and good price.. As I was paying the lady was just being rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there.. will not come back as I don't want to buy sweets from grumpy rude people.

I got the eggnog cheesecake, the pork sausage roll, and The pinecone, with a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate wasn't sweet so if that's your cup of tea you'd like it. The sausage roll wasn't very good. The sausage tasted awesome, but the pastry just doesn't reheat well. The desserts however!!!!! WOW! I came for dessert and it was worth the 25m drive. That's the best cheese cake I've ever had. I haven't eaten the white chocolate mousse filled pinecone yet, but still one of the most beautiful desserts I've seen in Calgary.

You guys, eat here. Please. My EMS dispatch team and I just had the most amazing Christmas dinner. Their service, during some challenging times and an error, has far exceeded all of our expectations. I can't fully express what their commitment to their craft and caring nature meant to us over the last couple days. This year has been hard on everyone, not just emergency services, and we are beyond grateful to have had a full turkey dinner when we weren't sure how we'd be able to make it work as family style is out of the question these days! It definitely took the edge off not being able to be with some of our families for so long. Especially during the holiday season! Much love and appreciation to the owners and all the staff at Patisserie du Soleil. May 2021 be a little more gentle on everyone!

My wife first introduced me to this gem a few year ago having grown up in the neighborhood. We've gone a handful of times, usually weekend brunch. It can get quite busy and the small dining room seems like it would be hard to serve. I've alway been pretty forgiving especially as the food has always been absolutely delicious but has often leaned towards rough service. Was in there last friday for breakfast. First the misleading sign had us waiting for a seat while people grabbed bakery goods. After eventually being told to grab our own seats we waited for what felt like a solid 10 minutes for menus unsuccessfully.during that time we saw to newer tables get menus and water. After grabbing menus myself we decided we'd had enough and left. The snarky response to my brothers off handed remark by the server though understandably instigated was rude and unprofessional. You can have the best food in the world but its not worth anything if the customer feels unwelcome.

My Aunt and I went for lunch here last week. I ordered the open-face turkey sandwich, boasting that the turkey was "freshly sliced", while my Aunt ordered eggs benny. Her eggs benny was pretty good, nice fresh eggs, good and runny, with a nice zingy hollandaise sauce (although I've made better in my own kitchen). My sandwich didn't fare so well. It was quite miserly in size, and the turkey looked like it had been sliced sometime the week before - it was as dry as sawdust. When I complained to the server (once she managed to make it back to the table - they really needed more staff), she just said "Sorry about that," no offer of a reduction in price. The soup that came with the sandwich was nice - beef and barley. Meh, all in all, I found some of the food ok but not great, the service not great, and the prices quite high considering the poor to mediocre quality of the food. I wouldn't bother going back.

Came on a Sunday to try, place was nice and cozy, friendly staff, pastry and crossiants were good! They have a decent sized breakfast menu and wife tried Nick's Scrambled Eggs the day before (on Saturday). The food was good, although they were really busy and she had to wait for an hour before food arrived. I ordered the sweet crepe on our Sunday visit ... a few tables' order was ahead of us so waited about 30 mins. It was good though, so all's well. We will try them again, neat little neighborhood place with good ambiance. Perhaps the wait is part of the experience, which knowing that walking in I'd be totally fine. We'll come whenever we have some time to chill and relax!

I got a baguette and a twisted cranberry, pumpkin and sesame seed bread here last evening. While I am saving the baguette for a special occasion soon, I couldn't resist trying out the twisted bread. It has a very fresh and tasty texture to it and I wound up eating almost half of it before I went to bed! Also, the staff that served me were very pleasant and friendly. Can't wait to return and try a number of other tasty temptations there!

I picked up a cake from here and when my friends and I cut into it we saw part of a bandaid. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever experienced. I would strongly recommend not coming to this place. Be very cautious before coming to this bakery. I feel this place really lacks professionalism and basic hygiene protocols. I have dined in, done take out... but delivery is different: But the low star rating is for the recent SkipTheDishes order I did,l for Beef Bourguignon - which was absolutely delicious - except for the price of the meal, and what they served was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING! They literally had a round take out dish and covered the bottom, that’s it - not enough to actually feed a person for $21... the the charge price of this meal, I would expect that container at least HALF full for what I just paid. Any other place I’ve ordered be it Chinese food or pub food, these containers are filled to brim , not just bottom covered so - Not sure I will order for delivery again if this is what is received for the price paid in the future. Sorry it’s not what I want to write as food is yummy, but you cannot expect me to be satisfied as it was enough to maybe feed a small child or younger.

Very average. Maybe it's good for the suburbs, but the food service is slow. Food is very bland, breakfast poutine, Benedict, waffles just have no taste. Very inconsistent with poached eggs. 3 different orders asked for soft eggs and they ranged from soft to hard to almost hard boiled. The jam and Beighets are good. But the croissant and cinnamon sticks were also very bland. My wife said the downtown location is a little better but we won't visit this location again

We came in and nobody even said “hi, we’ll be with you in a sec” and waited 10mins just to be seated. We wanted sandwiches and then when the server came to take our order, she just then told us that they only serve breakfast that day. We waited for half an hour to get our orders and wasted 45mins of our time waiting for our food. So we left and only paid for the coffee. The whole experience felt really disorganized and lacked of attention.

Why is it always busy!? They use a microwave for old pastries and when I asked they didn't even know what canelé was... I'm embarrassed when friends tell me Albertans dont know food, this is a perfect example. Time and again I go convinced it was just too busy so service wasn't good and the food as well. But the service is obnoxious, every time I go I'm ignored, never offered more coffee or asked how the food is. WORST WAITRESSES EVER! I am floored at how poorly cooked the food is, the chef/chef's can't even cook a simple egg or strip of bacon, what good is french chef who can't make an egg!? I'm gonna stop spending money here, it's just a mistake, the bakery is alright but only alright, They are snobby and don't deserve your business or mine.

I’ve been coming here for two years now for the odd lunch but mostly for their banana bread or apple raisin loaves. They used to be reasonably priced at $7 each but today they increased the price to $9 per loaf. Super disappointing. Will be running next door to Safeway now to buy Grandmas Banana bread lol. Also when I went here for lunch they served me a cold hot chocolate for $6. Not worth it guys.

First and last visit. Ordered a Black Forest Cake and a Pumpkin Pie. Bakery really missed the mark on both. The Black Forest cake was not chocolate and extremely dry. It’s a shame because the decor of the items were lovely and their customer service was really great. Sadly, your local grocery store has way better quality for half the price than this place.

I have been at the Patisserie twice for afternoon tea. Each time when I booked, the person on the telephone sounded doubtful that she/he should be taking the order. This last time when I tried to book by calling quite early in the morning, the employee was curt and simply told me that afternoon tea for two would be impossible later that afternoon. I wondered why when there were only a few sandwiches (not fancy) to be made up and pre-existing dainties put on the plate. However, she was adamant that it could not be done. I already knew that the bakery refuses to do tea on Saturdays and Sundays but this was a Friday. Anyway, I tried calling back a little later in the day to see if anyone else in the store was more obliging, but for the entire afternoon no one answered the phone. It simply went to voice mail. I actually called in at the bakery at 4:00, at the time I had planned to do tea and asked then if I could be accommodated. Again the answer was "No" and I was given the reason that they require two days' notice for afternoon tea guests. There were customers at only two tables in the entire restaurant when I was there and I found it surprising that they could not rise to the occasion for tea. Both times when I did have tea there, we guests received five very tasty simple sandwiches each, a small pot of tea and some small French pastries. I would not have thought that much special preparation was required for this. One thing I noted is that the shop does not understand how to make tea. They brought pots of hot water to the table and expected guests to put a teabag in water that had already cooled. Anyone who knows anything about properly serving tea knows that the boiling water has to be poured directly on the tea bag. So, even though the food for the tea service is good, there needs to be quite a bit more done here to make customers feel welcome and that they have had $25 (each) worth of service and enjoyment. The shop also needs to learn to serve tea properly!

Sadly, this patisserie start with such promise, it has slid into mediocrity. Since opening its other locations, it seems to be trying to save pennies by cutting its quality. The cream horns are not filled completely, the fillings in the croissants are barely existing. The service in the restaurant is bad at best. 3 of us sat for a meal and had each dish served one at a time, where not one of us ate at the same time. Phoned in one day to pre order some take out, was put on hold, and by the time I had driven to the restaurant, 20 minutes later, I was in front of the server, still on hold. Sadly disappointed in what started off with such promise of being able support a good local establishment.

I really love the products from this bakery....I have purchased so many lovely things in the last few months but today I had a terrible experience that really left me wondering if I would come back. The cronuts are fantastic and better than others I have tried! They come up with weekly flavours and are light and filled with delectable custard. Their cronut apple fritter’s crispy on the outside without excess grease and robust and got good chew on the inside. So glad they let you pre-order and such great customer service! I really enjoy coming in here, there's been different things to choose from every single time. Their pâtisserie's are incredible, I've tried a few and all have been fantastic! I particularly loved the citrus and chamomile one. The fresh baked bread and croissants are amazing too. The only thing I think that could use a little work is their coffee, specifically the espresso based drinks. Service has also been really friendly every time I've come in. I'm excited to return when regular dining resumes!

Food is great, service is not the best. Went for breakfast this week and servers seemed more concerned with sorting cutlery than checking on the 5 occupied tables. Both servers were very polite and seemed happy to serve but didn't seem to know they should check on the tables even after the food was served. Anyone that came in to buy from bakery counter got very prompt service. I had to ask for a coffee refill then had to go to the counter to get more cream for my coffee because after my meal was delivered no one came back. I'd suggest you stick to take-out unless you don't mind waiting a long time before you see your server back at your table.

My partner got some pastries for me after a day surgery and they were heaven. So we decided to go for breakfast the next day. Service was a tad slow at first but it was busy so completely understandable. The food came out quick once ordered. I had the traditional Benny and my partner had the duck confit Benny. Both delicious although the confit was a touch dry. The latte was amazing and the coffee was very good. I will definitely be back when I'm in the neighbourhood again. Thanks so much!

Stopped in this morning because we'd heard they offer cronuts. Oh my goodness! My son had the raspberry and green tea, and I had the moose tracks. This place is lovely and I would love to go here or order from here more often to support them but it's incredibly hard to eat here with allergies or dietary restrictions. Being allergic to eggs and dairy there isn't much I can eat on the menu. It would be beneficial to offer at least one Vegan option on both the breakfast and lunch menu just to cover those who come to eat with dietary restrictions like mine.

I absolutely love the Friday cronut choices. Make a morning of it. The menu choices for breakfast always hit the spot. I pick up my cronut order when I pay for my meal. I can't guarantee the cronuts make it to my home on the drive back to north Calgary. They are sooo good. The filling has so much flavour and just oozes into my mouth. It's practically a crime if you don't make sure to get every last taste and lick your fingers.

The food is a little pricey but delicious! Especially the banana bread french toast! The atmosphere in the cafe is nice and the art displayed on the wall changes once and a while so you always have new art to look at while you eat.

I've only tried the pastries, as take-out. They were so good! Not too sweet and full of flavour. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and happily explained what items were when I asked. The prices are very good. I got 2 items for under $10 including tax. The only negative is I couldn't find where the prices were posted for the pastries. In this instance I didn't really care, I was just buying myself a treat, but if price had been a concern I'd want to know without asking.

I used to enjoy coming here but I am now done with the poor customer service I have received the last few times I've been there. The waitress with the short black hair is terrible and doesn't check to see if you need a refill of beverage and has put in the wrong order. I see her standing around and the other waitress is the one who is doing the majority of the work. I don't understand why such an establishment would continue to employee someone who clearly isn't interested in doing the job and how shameful it is to have the other poor waitress take up her slack. Until there is some sort of change my friends and I are not going back. There are plenty of other places where they are attentive to the customer and I'll be spending my money there.

Third time I’ve been here and it’s been the same story each time. Waited 30mins for a coffee. Only reason I got it was because I had to remind them. Food took at least 45 mins and wasn’t worth what we paid for it. Certainly the last time we will be coming here.

2 stars.. It's a nice spot but we sat without menus or drinks for quite a while. The food is pretty good. It's too bad it wasn't a better experience. We waited about 45min total for our breakfast. We were offered refills once the food came. But had empty cups for awhile. I definitely wouldn't go back or recommend.

I used to love coming here. Last 3 visits were something along the lines of... Waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged at the door, another 15 do get drink orders and no food after 40 minutes. I went to ask and was told it wasn't even punched in yet. Absolutely terrible service. Only redeeming quality Is the food and I won't wait anymore for it, no restaraunt is worth waiting over an hour for breakfast. They are ruining themselves. Everyone looks lost. Here are some tips: Have someone make drinks instead of the bloody servers. Have someone run the till. Actually have people check on their customers. Basic things missing here. Can't handle even a full reataraunt with no lineup.

Slow as molasses service, at the table. After 10 minutes without even an acknowledgement and after the waitress walked by our table 3 times, we left the table and tried to buy something from the bakery. Two people who came in after us were served before us, so we left. And, we were planning on buying pastries and breads....their loss.

What a letdown and I had high hopes, but unfortunately my first visit became my last visit. I went in to buy some baked goods and place an order for two cakes but the bizarre hostile attitude at literally the first exchange of words after I said hi left very little to be desired after my short visit. The woman with the heavily done eyebrows wearing a braid behind the pastry counter acted like a simple question was such a drag to answer and it’s embarrassing for an adult to behave like a snarky, condescending teenager over absolutely nothing, just being mean for sport. I even tried giving her the benefit of the doubt with a second chance by asking another innocuous question thinking maybe I blacked out during my first question and said something horrible I didn’t realize saying but nope, still surly as hell. I was there for less than 5 minutes and promptly made my exit because what’s the point of even trying with such unwarranted negativity when I could go elsewhere? Which I did, and it was smooth, chill, and respectful which most people can manage to do. It’s typically customers who are unfortunately rude to staff in the service industry but maybe this place is experimenting with some sort of avant garde, post modern, disrespectful approach they haven’t informed the public of just yet. Also, if you choose to reply to this review, please don’t try to insult a customer’s intelligence by making up fake excuses for the bad attitude like the person having a “bad day” or covid. Bad manners are a conscious choice; it’s best to just take responsibility.

Order their French fries! You won’t be disappointed. Or if you get there early enough the warm ham and cheese croissants are the best. They’ve got a ton of gluten free options and that’s why I always choose them for my baking gifts to friends and family. They also have delicious weekly Cronuts with such fun flavours. Definitely worth following on Facebook to stay up to date on their new flavours.

Been here multiple times. Always big time problems with service. Tons of turnover. Food is excellent, when it's cooked properly. The last 3 times I've had either overcooked eggs or undercooked potatoes. Most recent stay was very undercooked potatoes. Almost threw up from texture. The thing about French cuisine is you have to execute it perfectly. Undercooked potatoes in breakfast poutine or two of everything? The dishes are primarily potatoes. This cafe badly needs its owner to actually work at it instead of trying to live a lazy life on vacation while underpaying staff.

I've had my eye on this place for quite a while since I live just around the corner. I came on a Sunday morning where I had time, since it always looks busy. It's a quaint and cute little cafe with a buzzing atmosphere. I was seated immediately and asked for my drink order after a few minutes. I started with a London Fog Latte. Delicious and frothy! I ordered the Chef's special eggs benedict with caramelized onion and mushrooms. It was well priced and the eggs were perfectly medium, just as I had ordered. Well done, chef. I took some pastries home because they were strategically placed by the till when I was ready to leave. I don't have room for them now but I trust they will be delectable! I'm giving this 4 stars because I will definitely come here again, however, my wait for food delivery was a tad bit slow. It's worth it, but I finished more london fog latte than I would have liked before starting my meal.

The food here is to die for!! Especially the Zoe's Banana Bread French Toast! The staff is very quick to wait on you, and you can always expect a smile! It's definitely a hidden gem of woodbine and I would have no problem calling it a community favourite. Even when there are lineups out the door, the staff is so great at accommodating everyone!

I showed up here on a Sunday afternoon in March at 3pm and they told me the kitchen was closed despite the website showing their closing hours as 4pm. Disappointed because I was looking forward to a meal.

First and last time I will go!! Horrible service. Dirty water cup looked like lipstick marks on it Not busy when we got there and took over 45 minutes for a cold eggs Benny. And messed up my sons pancakes. What looked like they did was put my eggs Benny in a microwave to heat up. Because last time I checked hollindaise sauce doesn’t come out smoking!! And my so called soft poached eggs were well done. Had to ask for refill on coffee. I wish I read the reviews before I went. I would not Recommend it.

Unbelievable service, excellent food, and pastries to die for. This establishment encompasses classic french cuisine with family-based touches that far surpass any expectation set. As someone that lives in NE Calgary, I can say that it is definitely worth the trip. The Duck Confit Eggs Benny is by far my favourite and i recommend it to anyone that comes in!

One thing I would say is the dine in service I have received here is not great. Young waitresses with no sense of urgency to serve you promptly, constantly having to ask for normal things like a coffee refill.

We went for lunch today. The waitress took our order, after 45 mins of waiting for our food and her not checking on us , sitting there with empty coffee ( and no water even though we asked at the beginning of service) I finally went to the front to ask- she barley acknowledged what was happening and asked what we ordered. She apologized but at that point it was too late. We ended up leaving because I felt like they didn’t even care that our food was not rung into the kitchen. Mistakes happen- however, if we would have been checked on ONCE in 45 mins - the situation could have been avoided. We took a break from work to go for lunch - we are now returning to work hungry. Im beyond disappointed with this experience.

Nice place for a coffee and sandwich. One of the few places in Calgary where the coffee is good enough for me to drink black without sugar or cream. The breakfasts are pretty good too. I noticed that they now have alcoholic beverages on their menu. It's also a bakery so it's a good place for breads and baked delicacies.

Ordered a chocolate mousse cake here on the recommendations of many others. You should call a day or two ahead to order. They are able to create many flavours. The price was extremely reasonable and everyone agreed it was one of the best mousse cakes they've had. Looking forward to trying out things here.

Near authentic Parisian style restaurant. Food is amazing and borderline gourmet. You know that feeling of food being professionally and uniquely made? This is a place like that. Interior could use some updating but I'm not too picky, especially being tucked away in the corner of Woodbine strip mall. A treat for the neighbourhood!
