The people that own this place as incredibly rude!! I've been going here since I was 5 and will never go again. I was counting out change to pay and then a old man just pushed all my coins aside before I could even check and then yelled at me when I said "I'm not sure if I gave you the right amount". He kept yelling at me saying "do you remember now?". I was so embarrassed. Horrible horrible! Will never go there ever again!

Hidden gem located in lower level on 3rd ave. in Chinatown. Not easy to find, serves fresh hot stuffed buns, pastries & cakes. Great prices (most of the items are only $1.30 each) its gone to $1.40 including gst.

This place is great for their rolled cake, comparing to other local bun shops, this one has the perfect ratio between the cake and the cream frosting. Buns are also good too!!

Been going to this bakery since I was a child. They have the most delicious BBQ pork buns and Egg Tarts in town! (Not too sweet and a good portion of filling) This is the only place I ever get them from and every person I've introduced to this place has never been disappointed!

Great little bakery in the basement of a building in Chinatown. Staff is always friendly while I balance my bike and get money out. I’m usually down there on the weekend and everything is fresh and tasty! There are no tables close by so take it and go find yourself a bench by the river to eat at.

I've had the buns here since I was a child and it's been over 20 years so that means a lot. The owner has been there forever and in my opinion has the best pineapple buns in the city. They're always fresh and sometimes the owner would throw in s freebie. Would always come back here even though the place may seem a little sketchy since it's been hours many years.

Hole in the wall bakery with extremely good prices. One of the best egg tarts in the city and definitely the only place with pineapples inside the pineapple buns! Owners are always friendly and generous. Sometimes when I don’t have exact change they just tell me to give it to them next time ????

Was looking for a quick cheap place for breakfast and stumbled onto Diamond Bakery. They are located downstairs in the building with the HSBC bank. Very mom and pop, with many different pastries to devour. I picked up 2 BBQ pork buns, 2 Egg and ham buns, 1 custard bun and 1 red bean bun. They were all delicious and after 5pm all buns are 20% off.

This is now what's inside their pork buns - mostly sauteed garlic and onions, I could barely taste any pork and I bought 8 pcs and they were all like that. They used to be ok but I don't think this is good for their business if they cheat on the ingredients.

The best Chinese bakery around. It has been here for a very long time and the prices are excellent. Their egg tarts, coconut buns and meat buns are absolutely delicious. I believe they still only take cash so make sure you have some handy when you go.

I visited this bakery located in the basement of a shopping centre after reading other Google reviews. Signage is in English (a bit unusual). Walk up to the counter and tell the staff member everything you want. They have good memories. Pay with cash and go find a bench to inhale your tasty treats. I ordered the coconut buns and BBQ pork buns. The bread is soft, the coconut filling is perfect balance of coconut and sugar, but the BBQ pork was just ok. I also bought egg tarts which I did not like. They had a tart flavor in them, maybe lemon?, which is unusual.

This is my favourite Chinese bakery in YYC. Be sure to bring cash. It’s cash only. Must items are $1.50 My favourite items (in order) are: Egg tarts Pineapple buns (you can get it with or without the pineapple filling) Coconut buns BBQ pork buns I’ve been going here since I was a kid, and it’s still good. Quality is consistent. The best!

Mom got stuff from here all the time while I grew up. Never disappointed. Their egg tarts, hotdog buns, and bbq pork buns are all to die for. Wouldn't go anywhere else for this type of food!

Truly the most amazing buns in the city, really kind staff and wide variety of buns to try. I got fresh pineapple, coconut, cream filled, bbq pork and chicken buns and all of them exceeded expectation. A real hidden gem and can't wait to go back!

So glad to eat it again after months away! Sweet bolo bun just hit the spot, and wolfed down the century bun. The couple who run this place make me laugh - he looks very stern but will (sometimes) secretly hide a free bun in your box for you when the wife is not looking! The wife works amazingly hard - by 3pm they were all out of red bean buns! Sorely tempted by the swiss rolls too! Cash only, but there's a convenient HSBC ATM upstairs. Absolute institution. Love this place.

The best bakery in the city. The egg tarts are well worth the money. The variety of savoury and sweet buns were astonishing, to say the least. Fresh, fluffy, mouthwatering pastries leaving you wanting more. It was also quite sanitary and aesthetically pleasing. Aside from the wonderful pastries, the customer service was exceptional.

Best pineapple buns here in town. Forget the stuff at T&T. This is baked fresh every few hours. They even have ones stuffed with fresh pineapple in it. The raisin stick is also very good, so is the coconut buns.

It was okay but some things didn't taste fresh. Kind of dark and dingy mall. The lady wasn't friendly and didn't seem to speak English... Kids didn't want to finish the dessert buns saying they tasted funny.

Good sized portions with awesome prices! The ones I've got tasted fresh and we're still soft and fluffy. There wasn't too much bun or bread or pastry vs. The contents inside, which is always lovely. Good service, but the accents are hard to pick up when I asked what was some of the items (I Googled instead!)--just be patient though if you can't Google I guess, the woman was very patient with my many questions! Cash only!!
