I can think of nowhere better to “trick” persons into plant-based eats: which is to say, no one has to know! I have never gone in and spent below expected. Every time, there’s something extra I know I want to try, bring home, or eat in the car on the way home. Usually, all three. Try a cinnamon bun. You will not regret it. The ownership rocks, too! Great folks.

Love the pastry here. So impressed with how flaky and delicious it is. Their savoury options like sausage rolls, spinach ricotta and ham and cheese rolls are definitely my favourite but the sweets are great too. Decent location and friendly staff.

Just what Calgary needs. I picked up their valentines box complete with cookies, cupcakes, and chocolate dipped strawberries and it was just the treat my partner and I needed. Will definitely be using Canela for any and all special occasions.

Absolutely love Canela! I’m not vegan but try to lean towards those options and let me tell you… I can’t even tell they are vegan with how rich and delicious their desserts and pastries are. My fav is the Pop Tart, it tastes exactly what you’d think when imagining an upscale adult pop tart.

What a cute experience! Staff was friendly and the product is a rarity. Vegan pastry that you would by again is tough to find. Their cake is the best!! Their hours are not convenient. It would be awesome if they opened later in the afternoon, so the rush hour crowd could support more frequently.

Delicious vegan treats and the London Smog (London Fog with hot cocoa powder) is incredible! Tried a cookie and muffin and they were delicious - gorgeous texture and crust. I wasn’t blown away by the empanada but it did have an excellent crust. Will definitely be back for cafe and sweets!

Wow! Just WOW! This new vegan bakery is located in a small unique house turned into a bakery (off McLeod trail). Being vegan, I had to come check this place out! They have a small sitting area and along with delicious pastries, they make amazing lattè’s!! I bought some of their vegan sausage rolls that were amazing. My husband loved them. I also got their cinnamon buns that could win an award for how delicious it was. I follow their Instagram page and they were promoting their vegan pumpkin pie so I scooped one up and everyone at thanksgiving dinner loved it. Even if you aren’t vegan, go try it out!!! Oh! And homemade poptarts!!

Living out of province from a friend, I wanted to get her a little treat for her birthday as a surprise. I connected with Canela (ordered online) and gave them a heads up that my friend would get a card with a note saying she had a treat at Canela waiting for her. Then, I found out my friend would be away when I had planned to have the treats ready, and had to work back and forth with Canela to revise the timing of the order. After a few calls, I got it sorted (phew)! and my friend was surprised without a hitch and enjoyed her birthday cake rolls! To be honest, I'm rather sad I didn't get to enjoy them myself. Overall, Canela was easy to work with and was patient with me, and from what I hear from my friend, the bakery is approachable, affordable and the Inglewood area is lucky to have them!

I can't say enough good things for this wonderful bakery. As a vegan I'm always seeking the best places for sweets and I always splurge like crazy every time I come here. I do wish you had Sundays open and just take days off on weekdays instead (I can't get away from work often on weekdays) but I understand everyone has different circumstances, so I try my best to make it on Saturdays if I can. But anyway love Canela and I DO come every time I have a chance!!! The pop tarts....drool!!!

Canela is THE place to visit if you're craving vegan pastries! Their cinnamon buns alone are to die for and their staff are just as sweet as their cookies! I love that they have seasonal drinks and I will forever cherish their London smog beverage! It's hard to pick a favourite item as everything is so tasty and reasonably priced! I'm looking forward to their new location in Inglewood!!!

Small family run feeling bakery. Excellent quality and flavor. Called them in the morning hoping but not expecting them to accept a birthday cake. But they did and they came through on time with a beautiful delicious vegan orange and vanilla cake that tastes as good as anything else. Highly recommend it ! Thank you

I love this little bakery! As someone who cannot eat dairy, I almost tear up looking at a packed display case of baked goodies and knowing I can eat every single one. We’ve yet to find something we didn’t love and I’m addicted to the cinnamon buns! The baked goods rotate often so there’s always something new and they also bring in goods from other vendors. In the summer you can purchase fruits and veggies outside some days. We also love the coffee and buy beans on a regular basis. Don’t skip this hidden gem!

You would Not be able to tell this is a vegan bakery- everything is absolutely Devine- the pistachio croissant ???? is to die for, and so is the spinach ricotta roll, and pizza bun, EVERYTHING!!! It’s all magical, and Veronica is so sweet, just like her baking! And so are all the lovely staff! And so is the new space right in Inglewood!!!! So lucky to have them as our neighbours.

I’d give Canela 10 stars if I could! So grateful for this vegan bakery with amazing treats! First this place is quaint and the staff are so friendly! Then you have cakes so moist and decadent you won’t believe it’s vegan! I love their carrot cake and my go to is their caramel latte cinnamon bun, you can’t find this anywhere else! And their churros, oh my are they out of this world. Crispy on the outside and great texture on the inside! I literally go every week just to get my hands on all these, and their pricing is so reasonable, I definitely recommend Canela!

I'm so happy I found this place and did a small splurge with my daughter. We got 3 different types of cookies, 2 different cinnamon rolls and a stuffed cookie and I am going back in for more because these taste incredible!

Canela vegan bakery has the best cinnamon twists I have ever had! I think they use cloves as a spice in them and it adds so much flavour in addition with cinnamon. SO Good! Will be going back for these. I also got the breakfast sandwich in the panini press warmed up. It did lack some flavour and could have used another sauce in there. Also, only the bread was warmed up and not the insides of the sandwich which was disappointing. Will be trying again tho!

I can’t believe I’ve only just found out about this little Vegan gem! I’ve tried a couple of pastries and a cookie; everything was delicious. Will recommend, and will be back! The only reason for four stars instead of five is the lack of a customer washroom. This was a problem for me today. The lady serving told me to go and use the washroom in the building across the street. I tried to do so, but it was apparent that the general public is not welcome to use those washrooms either. There was a sign up stating that, and the washroom was locked. No doubt they don’t appreciate Canela directing their customers over there. My feeling is coffee shops really need to have a washroom for their paying customers who find themselves in urgent need of one. That’s my only criticism; I look forward to returning and trying more of the delicious baking and hot drinks.

So. Awesome! Absolutely everything looks and is delicious. I’ve been waiting to try them out and finally was in Calgary with some free time. Went twice in 3 days and tried all of my favourite pastries I haven’t been able to find vegan-friendly anywhere! Their tres leches, loaded croissants and signature cinnamon buns were wild! Perfect new location too!
