We purchased mini cupcakes for our wedding and were SO happy that we decided to go that route. The cupcakes were so fresh, looked great and were absolutely delicious! I think about their cupcakes way more often than I should, but that's just how good they are. The entire process was so easy, I ordered through their website (due to the pandemic, they weren't able to offer tasting appointments, which is fair), scheduled the delivery, got an email confirmation and then they showed up on the wedding day, just as I had requested. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone wanting cupcakes for any reason, whether it's for an event, birthday or just because. Looking forward to the next time I get to enjoy some!

We placed an order from this shop for the first time, and tried a few different treats for our son's birthday. We were very pleased with how tasty they all were. The chocolate cake was rich and moist, the cookies were chewy and had lots of chocolate chips, and the itty bitty cupcakes were the perfect size for young kids. Nothing was overly sweet which I really enjoyed. We'll be ordering again for another special occasion.

We Pre-ordered and prepaid for my daughters birthday cake. Given the c19 situation we were very worried about delivery as the cake is the only part of a 6 year olds birthday that could be relatively normal these days. We needed it ON TIME as we were heading out of town... THE WEBSITE ALLOWS YOU TO CHOOSE A SPECIFIC DELIVERY WINDOW!!!!!!!! Delivery Morning... nothing....3pm still no cake. Attempting to contact them was a waste of time and they were non responsive until I posted my disappointment on social media. They then very quickly called my wife with a rudely abrupt tone and told her their policy is the delivery window was anytime before 5pm. Clearly NOT what is stated on the website. (when asked why they stated "they can't change the webpage" which is total rubbish as a webpage is scripted with html and can display ANYTHING you tell it to, been that way since the 90's). The cake was dropped off around 4:30pm. We had already left town to go to our family land. I left one star as their website information is not up to date, their communication skills are lacking and they didn't provide the service they claimed. It should be noted that the cake looked very nice albeit missed the purpose. edit to response below... the clarity at the "beginning" of the order process was zero communication. You did not contact me to inform me that your website had options you could not fulfill. The first we heard of this delivery policy was this email you sent out the day prior to delivery.

I was given mini cupcakes from here a few months back and as soon as I took a bite I said "omg real butter in the buttercream!" The quality was incredible so when it came time for my daughter's birthday we ordered a cake and some cupcakes from here. The cake is so good I died and went to chocolate heaven. This place is charming & cozy. The shop is inviting, very bright & fresh. Also... There are cupcakes galore! What's not to love?!? The service was wonderful. The cupcakes. Oh man. So many to choose from, and while I did feel they were a little pricey, I think it's kind of to be expected for something like this. I purchased 6 large cupcakes on Sunday. Now on Tuesday, they are still soft, moist and delicious. So, so, so very good. ???? I will be back!

I've only been in once so far, nice looking shop front, service was prompt. Cupcakes looked gorgeous and very appealing. Took them home, very tasty. I share a half dozen w my hubby, and I eat one a day. On day 3 my last cupcake was still moist. The texture of the icing is the type I like, it's not overly whipped and just the right consistency, the cake portion was very moist. Not sure what all those bad reviews are about but I can tell you right now any poor review during covid is most likely uncalled for. I am an essential worker, and during the beginning of covid ppl were very cranky and quite frankly being extremely unreasonable. Ppl were not understanding of how businesses had to adapt, and when I say adapt, we were literally making changes daily. Don't let a few bad reviews turn you away from trying some very yummy treats!

Their cakes and cupcakes are really good - however the Cake order I placed for pick up today wasn't ready on time. I made it super clear that i needed it right at 10 and when my co-worker got there to pick it up they needed another 10-15 min which made the cake late to our surprise meeting. I also had them write on the cake and honestly it was off-centered and and exclamation was put where u had asked for a period. I know these things seem small but when you you're paying almost 100 dollars for a cake the details matter.. I have done a large bulk request from there before and everything came out perfectly. Not sure what happened today

By end of last year and before the Christmas, my boyfriend and I went to the Cake Bake Shoppe to buy some desserts for the coming holiday. The cake bake shoppe is located 11 McKenzie Towne Ave SE #230, which is 10 minutes away from our home. It’s a small local family owned cake bakery. The store serves different kinds of cupcakes and desserts. All the cakes, cupcakes, and desserts were fresh. People can also order the cakes based on their flavors. We’re there in the store right after the lunch. There was only one lady server in this store. She was nice and friendly. She was very helpful and provided a great customer service to us. We ordered 6 big cupcakes from the store. The prices of the cupcakes were a little bit expensive. The single cupcake is $3.85; 1/2 Dozen – 20.99; Dozen – 39.99. The taste of cupcakes were great. I love the cream on top of each cupcake so much. It was a great experience having desserts at Cake Bake Shoppe.

It's the first time I've been in here since they moved over onto High Street and they are in a beautiful shop right on the main road now, hopefully this will give them a bit more exposure and get people like me who were on the street for something else but then decided cupcakes would be the perfect addition for lunch ????. It's bright in here the cupcakes look delicious and taste delicious and the service is outstanding! I believe it was Kaitlin working today and I really can't say enough about her we shared a few laughs and then I got to go home with some delicious cupcakes. Everybody local should really come here and spread the word to people who aren't local to come here.

We love that there are flavours of the month and the quality is exceptional. I've order through their website more times then I can count and have never had an issue. Today I bought 4 cupcakes. I spent $17! We couldn't eat them because they were hard and dry. I really think they were day olds. The buttercream was both gritty and greasy at the same time. I give them a 2 out of 5 because they are nut free and I like that but otherwise they have no redeeming qualities!

Not too many options to choose from when we were there afternoon Sep 20. They were out of vanilla! Cake is heavy and oily. Frosting acceptable, a bit skimpy compared to Craves. You may like that. They use lots of cream cheese frosting, which may not be good if you are not a fan of cream cheese frosting like myself. Next time, I am having a cupcake craving, I will take the extra effort to drive to Crave Cupcake. They are still the best for me.

My boyfriend ordered a red velvet cake for my birthday and it was absolutely delicious! He got a cake big enough to feed 30 people and all our guests loved the cake and asked where he got it from. The cake was dense (it was so heavy!) but also very moist. Would highly recommend!

I ordered 2 birthday cakes for a combined 55th birthday celebration this past weekend. The one cake was done with different colours of purple (rosettes). It was quite pretty and I was satisfied for the most part with the look and people enjoyed it (chocolate inside). I requested and received writing on the top of the cake. I was disappointed in the writing. It looked shaky and not like it had been done by someone with years of decorating experience. The writing was done in white on top of a marbled purple. However, there was a small line under one of the words where the decorator "dripped" and did not remove it. This looked less than professional in my opinion. The second cake was a real disappointment for me. I provided a picture of a fondant cake that had the Triumph motorcycle symbol on it (the British flag (red, blue & white) with the word "Triumph" in the centre. The pricing came back and it was very reasonable for a 6" round. However, when I went to pick it up, I found out why. Instead of fondant, they printed the image on a piece of paper. What was supposed to be red was orange and because the colour was not accurate, it looked very amateur. As I was purchasing 2 cakes, cost was a factor I made the bakery aware of. I am assuming that is why they chose to go with a printed image instead of fondant. I understand that but if getting a pure red was not possible, I should have been told before arriving to pick up the cake so we could discuss other options. The staff member who was present when I picked up the cakes was not overly friendly and never thanked me for my business. This is a pet peeve of mine! Regardless if I was purchasing a small cupcake for $2.75 or I was spending what I did (over $100) for 2 cakes, someone in customer service should always say thanks in my opinion. The final straw for me was when she partially closed the lid on the purple cake - she actually "smushed" 2 of the rosettes on the top side. I will not return to this bakery for future cakes based on my experience.

Ordered a cake here for my fathers 75th birthday. The cake was made on time and looked exactly as it should have when I picked it up. We were having a little party of him with a few of his close friends. Just a small thing due to covid but nonetheless we were looking forward to the cake. We had never ordered from here before so didn't know what to expect. The cake looked great but the taste was pretty disappointing. The cake was dry, and the buttercream had almost no flavor. I was expecting a full vanilla flavor based on the description but it was dull and bland. For the price I paid I was expecting a lot more. Unfortunately I don't see myself coming back here anytime soon. Maybe ours was just a one off... hard to say. Other people have given good reviews so I'm inclined to believe that we must have just had a bad one.

I really like this little shop! It specializes in cupcakes, and they make a wonderful cupcake all the time! The flavours actually taste like what it's suppose to be, and the prices are decent. The frosting isn't over done, so these cupcakes are really good! The only problem is we only get them a few times a year as they are a tad costly. I love the fact they do special cupcakes depending on the season too! Delicious stuff!

A nice variety of flavours, both for the cake and the icing. The baking itself is not overly sweet, which should be a plus for those who are overwhelmed by some cupcakes. The cake was pleasantly dense, but a little drier than I would have preferred, though we did visit right at the end of the day, so those coming earlier will likely have better results. The custom cakes on display were impressively creative and I would definitely consider getting one for my next event.

CAKE Bake Shoppe is a fabulous find for those who want great tasting treats and a nut-safe and/ gluten free options! Their cupcakes are very tasty along with their cookies, cakes and cake pops (but if you have you heart set on something make sure to either order ahead of time or come early as they sell out by the end of the day). New this summer they are also selling soft serve ice cream which they can did in chocolate or confetti (which is also guaranteed but free).

Talk about word of mouth! Wow! My boss bought a dozen cupcakes for our store after breaking a sales record and I have eaten like 4 and I don't even feel bad about it haha. Will not be returning, cookies have been very dry recently and they don't even use real butter in the cupcakes. ???? *My mistake I should have been clear. Your cupcake and cakes contain canola oil. If you are charging as much as Crave, you should have butter in the cakes. Not canola oil. The ingredients are listed on your website.

purchased a small vanilla cake with white icing, initials and a date on it for a small civil service on sunday. Ordered the cake on thursday, had it picked up on saturday. Took the cake out of the fridge to put on the cake stand before the service, it was blue and the initials appeared to be done by a small child with a crayon. We really couldnt do much at that point, so we placed the lovely blue kindergarten project in the middle of our white and pink ceremony and carried on. didnt realize that the color and penmanship werent our only problems as my daughter cut into the cake to realize that it was some sort of banana flavour. if one tried they couldnt have picked a worse flavour for someone who has never eaten a banana in her life, so from bad to worse. So disappointed and not really something you can "do over".Not a place to try if you need professionalism. So in conclusion....if you buy a cake here, please remember, its your responsibility to know that a "white" cake means blue and a "white" cake means vanilla bean that might taste like bananas, and if your not happy with your obvious error in specifying no blue, banana flavored vanilla cake then obviously stop the ceremony and give them a call on sunday afternoon and they will fix it...oops my mistake. not open. google reviews are to help advise potential customers, i consider my experience worth sharing...they cant all be positive family and friend reviews, thats not helpful.

I ordered a birthday cake for my hubby's 60th birthday. I asked for a wine bottle themed cake and gave some idea basic ideas on what we wanted. It turned out to be the most well done cake and looked like a real bottle of wine! The guests could not believe it was a cake. It was also one of the best flavored cake we had ever had! I will always use Cake Shoppe from now on as we do a lot of celebrating in my family!

Ordered the "Nearly Naked Cake" for my mom on Mother's Day. She was never a fan of sweets but she definitely LOVED this cake. it had the perfect ratio of cake to frosting, the cake was perfectly moist and spongy. I'm so happy that this bake shop existed around our neighborhood, definitely going to pass by and taste more of their flavors and cakes :) (i kinda wish it wasn't so close because this makes it so easy to eat and eat and eat haha :) )

We hired this shop for our wedding cupcakes and were completely disappointed with the result. Our consultation was great but after that we received no communication. When I called 2 days before our wedding to make sure they hadn’t forgotten about us, I received a very cold response that it was up to us to follow up with them. To top it off, our order showed up missing things we had paid for and the cupcakes were stale. I would not recommend this shop to anyone looking for a bakery for an important event.

We had the opportunity to work with Tanya for the first time this month on a wedding styled shoot. We shared 3 theme inspiration boards with her and she was to create a wedding cake for each one. We were absolutely blown away with the designs she created. They complemented our themes perfectly- the colors, the styles... everything was right on point. At the end of the shoot, we got to eat the wedding cakes and I can seriously say they were the best cakes I have ever had!!! We highly recommend them!

Overpriced, and difficult to deal with (on two separate occasions). Came off as rude the first time when my wife ordered a birthday cake 2 months ago, so we gave the owner(?) the benefit of a doubt that maybe she was just having a bad day. I just had a similar experience today. They came off as stuck up/arrogant and I was also shocked to learn that other bakers are charging half as much for a similar cake. Shop around! Edit: when I mentioned other bakeries I wasn’t comparing to grocery store cakes. I called an independent local bakery.

If I could give a rating of this it would be 9/5 stars. The cupcakes here are to die for. Everything from the delicious icing, to the cake which is so moist and flavourful, to just even the feeling you get when you walk in the door, everything is perfect. I am also happy to learn that they are fully nut free on everything they make as my sister is allergic and generally will skip on desert for that reason. I keep meaning to make a trip back cuz YUM!!! It's a bit pricy, but in my opinion it's totally worth it.

Amazing customer service!! We had a cake made by a contact in Edmonton, but it didn't match the color or style that was requested. Did not realize this until a few hours prior to the reception. Tanya Pridge, who had just finished her shift on the Saturday and gone home, came to my daughters house, picked up the cake, took it back to her shop and after totally modifying it she delivered it directly to the reception. It was an amazing transformation. This family business and Tanya went above and beyond and above the call of duty to accommodate us. We as a family are so appreciative of this kind gesture. I love the cupcakes at CAKE Bake Shoppe. My favourite is the mocha and my family is crazy over the carrot cake. When ever I bring a cake or cupcakes to a party or buy one for my special event, guests always rave on how delicious it is and how much they love it. So much that the next time I attend their gathering, I see a CAKE Bake Shoppe cake at their dessert table! The owner is amazing as well! She's passionate, caring and an incredible person who takes care of her customers and always makes sure her products are of high quality. I had my wedding this past weekend and we ordered an assortment of mini cupcakes from here for our dessert and had her deliver/set them up for us. They turned out SO delicious and everyone raved how they weren't overly sweet, like Crave or Buttercream. They went like hotcakes and we had none left over by the end of the night. I was a little disappointed, the cupcakes were very dry, but I did go towards the end of the day near closing time and yeah only experience a few varieties of cupcakes that were left since they were almost closing. The cupcakes I did choose didn't seem to have a lot of flavour, more a sugar flavour than what it was labelled as, I think no matter what time I went to the other place in Calgary their cupcakes were always super moist and had a lot of flavour in the icing. I made the journey to the cupcake shop on 3 ooccations, first time I didn't know it closed at 6 and I just missed closing time looking around for parking, second time it was closed on a Monday and finally got there before 6 the third time. And yes this was all of my own fault, I should have checkled the website hour/days of operation before venturing to Mackenzie Towne, but for the effort of getting my cupcake fix, I was a little disappointed.

I wanted to show my gratitude for the team at Cake Bake Shoppe. I called on a Thursday in desperate search of a bakery that would make my gender reveal cake the same day of my ultrasound. Although not something they normally do, they were able to accommodate my request! They prepared the cake and processed my order Thursday and Friday morning I dropped off the results of my ultrasound. By 5pm that same Friday, my cake was ready for pick up. It was perfect! So moist, delicious and super cute. The cake was not too sweet and there was a perfect cake to icing ratio. Thank you guys so much for a great experience!

Service was great and lots of options to choose from. Small round cake and doz mini cupcakes and doz big cupcakes over $100. I said wow this must be very good at this price. At the time of serving it for my kids birthday party, of mostly school friends and parents. Everyone said it looks so good. First bite my son says "mom this doesn't taste good." I thought no way, on taste by myself and almost all parents: It tastes like white grainy sugar mixed with butter and coco, there is no smoothness or originality of this place. After icing sits on your tongue you develop rough and irritated feeling (not only me). Cupcakes are all the same with just added flavour or ingredients. Save your money please and you can do a better job with store bought packages and food colouring. I wish I never paid this kind of money for these cakes. I'm left with all these cakes and no one wants it.

I just bought a few dozen cupcakes for a birthday party from here and they were a huge hit! The mini cupcakes were especially loved (the normal sized ones were a little intimidating after a full meal) and in the future that is definitely the size I will stick to. There were so many different flavours and I loved the variety, it was easy to please everyone with their favourite. Oh and in my opinion, the icing from here is way better then most other bake shops. To top it off, it’s a cute venue that will be fun to check out in the summer for ice cream. ???? ????
