Wicked awesome pastries, chocolates, croissants and more.

Sandra Chan

Finally was able to get out to this awesome bakery/chocolaterie. Just a short line up; good thing I ordered on the phone ahead of time and they had all the baked goods we wanted to sample all boxed and ready when I got there. All I can say is that each and every one was delicious!!!!! Wishing I lived closer.

Lara Mercier-Jung

Delicious coffee and amazing, beautiful desserts! Pain au Chocolat is positively delectable, as is everything else. Macaroons are creatively flavoured and nicely sized with a perfect filling-to-shell ratio. Special holiday desserts are beautifully constructed and make wonderful gifts! Service has been a problem in the past but owners welcome and accommodate feedback! Looking forward to the opening of the new location!

Keagan O'Donoghue

Great place for a date. Latte art is very good: doves, hearts, you name it. 10/10 would come again

Stefano Papa

Excellent pastries and atmosphere

ben wickham

Fancy chocolate

Vincent Courtemanche

We got croissants, chocolatines, a triple chocolate mousse and a chocolate mousse yule log. Everything was EXCELLENT! The chocolate was really tasty, not just sweet (not too sweet either). The croissants and chocolatines were made with proper butter dough layers, unlike every other place I've tried so far. Well definitely be back!

Pedro Santos

Delicious chocolate and pastries. Some of them are very exquisite, but worth trying.

Erica Moore

The most buttery, flaky croissants I've ever had.

Patrick Brouder

Wonderful little bakery with good coffee and pastries. A great selection of full-sized cakes which seem very reasonably priced given the high quality!

Gabriel Ybanez

We've visited twice since moving to the area three weeks ago, and I can happily say that we're in for many more visits. I've tried the savoury croissants, something with rosemary and the ham and cheese, as as the cinnamon pull-apart. All very delicious! Staff were very friendly and accommodating. You can also catch a glimpse of them making all then goodies! I look forward to trying everything else.

Shaun S

Our experience with Chez Christophe’s customer service was 10/10! Truly went above and beyond, especially during these stressful times. We recommend everyone support this local business not only because their pastries are the best we’ve ever had, but because their staff make experiences that last forever. We will be a life long customer and will happily recommend everyone we know to experience the same.

Mark Hutchison

Amazing chocolate, beautiful and tasty; same with pastries. Nice coffee too.

Shannon M.

Award winning chocolates are not bad. Nice atmosphere in a quiet area.

jazmin A-T (Jazmina)

Fabulous chocolates and Pastries

Tylor Froese

Great desserts and very high quality feel

Raphaël ZENOU-POEHR

A bit expensive for french things.

Lisa Hamilton

Best croissants, fancy cakes and desserts in the lower mainland!! I heard the owner ships his ingredients in from Europe... Their croissants taste and texture are clearly straight from France!! So delicious!

Marc-Antoine Soucy

Friendly staff, delicious pastries!

Robbert de Groot

Thomas Haas or Ganache are both a lot farther away from where I live. Chez Christophe is pretty much on par with those two I find. Pleasant staff good service.

J Tsang

Amazing stuff! Bit on the pricey side but everything exquisite.

Andrew Larson

I think they have the best croissants. The place is a bit pricey, but they have good food. Haven't had a chance to try many of their chocolates.

Kevin Saito

I have ordered many cakes from Chez Christophe and have never been disappointed with their quality. Recently there was a mix-up on one of my cake orders and the wrong cake was made. Chez Christophe agreed to make the correct cake on a future order free of charge, which was greatly appreciated.

W Sun

Got gifted this chocolate from a wedding I attended. Both taste and appearance are top notch!

Wilson Fung

They used to have savory pastries. No more. The sweet ones are still good but not everyone has a sweet tooth.

Steven Kuo

Live this hidden gem. Best almond croissant, tiramisu and tanka eclair in town!

Huang Yaohuang

(Translated) My wife loves it so much. If I don’t buy a big bag every week, I feel sick all over my body. (Original) 老婆超愛,每週不去買一大袋,簡直就是全身不舒服

Richard Gregor

The food looks amazing, but a little expensive. But the person who served us had zero personality and really turned me off every visiting again.

Adithya Varma

Pretty good cakes

Gretzkyman99

Wow best croissant I have tasted in a long time. It was the square croissant and had filling in it. There was lots of filling. It was great

Nelson Adams

Excellent croissants, pastries, chocolates, macarons. Chris is friendly and a true master of making chocolates that have low, mid and high notes of complex blossoming flavors that are mesmerizing.

Christine Lyons

Best croissants and chocolate in the lower mainland! Only complaint is that sometimes the front desk staff can be a bit aloof/unfriendly...perhaps part of the French atmosphere?

Beeb S

Not bad AT ALL. Decent prices for good quality pastries, cakes and chocolates. Parki g at times can be hit and miss but not a deal breaker.

El B

Great place for desserts. I like the themed ones for special occasions. Chez is always in the kitchen so say hi to him.

Craig Rodrigues

Great sausage rolls

Cindy Canosa

Delicious food, pastries and drinks!

Kev T

Called into Chez Christopher 2 hours before their posted closing time on Saturday to have a Trio de Chocolat to be picked up right when they close and they kept their promise! With such a short amount of time, the cake still tasted amazing.

Sophie Tsai

The best chocolate croissants and coffee. Excellent customer service. Staff are always so friendly. Food is always a hit.

Natalie Wong

Splurged on a double baked matcha croissant, but left feeling disappointed. It was quite expensive and didn't have enough matcha flavour. It just tasted sweet. I also got a regular butter croissant and a hazelnut chocolate croissant to take home. My mom said it wasn't buttery enough and she's had better croissants. I thought it was also just ok. I did enjoy the hazelnut chocolate one more than the matcha. However, Chez Christophe is a nice space. Quite a bit of seating and it's bright with the large windows. Their chocolates looked quite good, so I would consider coming back to buy a box. I liked how they had a window so you could see into the kitchen to see what they were doing. It looked like they were making chocolates with frog faces.

Nikos Diomi

Chocolate & Pastries! Boom, there goes the diet!

Kevin Girard

This is a really excellent place to sit, have a coffee and eat something amazing. The baked goods, chocolates, tarts and cakes all show a high level of skill and quality. The staff are friendly and accommodating. There are always people here but it's rarely set up busy that you're frustrated with a wait.

Veronika S

The best. Never disappointed here.

Arthur Lin

Fantastic place for coffee, croissant and pastry! Friendly staff and awesome barrister working her magic with the latte art. My go to place to start off the weekend.

Julia Belzetsky

Loved it, everything was so delicious and staff was extremely polite!

Talence Talence

First time at this place. I gave one star for The clean place, and 1 star for friendly Staff. I asked for a Pain au chocolate. It tasted like it was made 2 days ago. The croissant was hard to eat. For $5.75 I was expecting a delicious taste of chocolate in a roll of dough freshly baked. For $6.00 You can buy a pack of 4 freshly baked pain au chocolate from local grocery store. Désolé mais c'est triste de faire une experience pareille.

Jai Fajardo

The products, like the chocolate and cakes are awesome... I also love that they have pallet coffee beans for their drinks.... the drinks are great too. Sadly, the staff seem a bit unwelcoming and I've visited two days in a row and it wasnt because of maybe a bad day... they seemed a bit rude when taking my order on a busy day and the same on a quieter day. :'( I consider myself pretty easy going but I feel like I should not even come back because of the experiance the staff gave me, which is unfortunate because of the great products.

Jonathan Chin

If I could eat and drink everything in one sitting i would

Adam

I love this place! Fantastic pastries, dessert and unbelievablely good chocolate. It is always a special treat to visit

Moven MVRL

It's a great patisserie with a good selection. We got some chocolates and pastries, and we were not disappointed. I would love to try their hot chocolate next time. One note though, I think their chocolate is much better than their pastries, and if I had to choose, I would go to L'atelier for their pastries instead.

Jason Cheung

Excellent pastries and incredible chocolates. Definitely a great place to come for a coffee and dessert. They also serve great sandwiches.

Brad Gannon

Forget Artigianos- the best capuccino in north burnaby is here. Only problem is you can't make it past the chocolates!! Also the best croissant in burnaby especially if you like the extra flakey style.

I O

Delicious viennoiserie and cakes. Try the Paris Brest

Daph Ordas

They have good desserts and hot chocolate

Darcy Chow

Great pastries and coffee. The isn't a lot of seating inside, but it's a relaxed atmosphere with good service.

Max HUNTER

Perfect desserts. All ingredients dancing in the mouth, perfectly match each other. It would be great if cashiers are more friendly.

Sarah Hopkins

The selection is so beautiful looking and everything we had was delicious.

Winnie Richardson

Hubby and I love this place! Glad that it's across the bridge otherwise we'd go every week. Even so we'd plan our day so we can treat ourselves with their amazing, freshly baked, airy and flaky croissants. It's hard to find an incredible chocolate/pastry shop with decent coffee. The new location has more seating, ready to go gifts and coffee selection. Can't wait to try the new goodies!

Paul Parungao

Excellent place. Their breads are soft, flaky, and aromatic. Trying their pastries in the morning reminded me of pastries I've had in France. The only problem: a single hair baked into my pain au chocolat. I don't think this is normal because the place is very clean. I would've told them about it, but I ordered to go. Follow up review: For the past 4 years since my initial posting, I have come back to Chez Christophe for a nice pastry and specialty drink for breakfast or a snack here and there. Nothing bad with my order happened like it did 4 years ago (see above). Anyways, the quality of chocolates and pastries is only rivaled by the most reputed bakeries in Vancouver. Actually...not a rivalry...they're pretty much equal in my books. If you like places like Thierry, for instance, you'll love Chez Christophe. They excel at seasonal offerings. For example, during sakura season, get their sakura specialty drinks. They're crazy delicious, and there's nothing quite like them anywhere. 5/5

Collin Yan

My Fog tea was great and the dessert was moderate. My friend didn’t finish her matcha and I have no idea about it.

Meghana Reddy

Croissants - YASSS, get them here without any second thought! We got the croissant cube with lychee filling and double baked hazelnut chocolate. Easily one of the best croissants we had in Vancouver area. Lychee filling was refreshing and croissant itself was buttery and flaky, so good! I love double baked croissants and this one did not disappoint at all! We also got trio de chocolate, it was delicious too. There in indoor and outdoor seating available. Service was welcoming and sweet, we highly recommend this place. Totally worth your money.

Fouad Zarifeh

Excellent patisserie, chocolates, and baking. The staff is very helpful. Very good coffee

Alex Dorand

One of the star bakers among the best bakers in Vancouver. His products of are highest quality and the taste is amazing. His chocolates are also very good.

Jan Floor

Always fantastic

Michael Kwan

Absolutely stellar, both the baked goods and the chocolate. Love the new location.

Armel Chao

Their desert cake are exquisite and not too sweet. Worth the trip

mika akagi

I just got this from a friend and i was so excited to eat it cuz i always wanted to try their chocolates!! But i was disappointed.... Matcha tastes great! But the oil!? Or oil from Almonds!? tastes old... i even can smell it when i open the bottle... i am sorry but i can Not finish the rest. It taste very bad????

Eugene Wong

Best cake I can find in Greater Van area. Not only you can find your regular flavours; As if not satisfied with their existing artform, they arn't afraid of experimenting with new (and sometimes weird) tastes and ingredients.

Anson Li

People come here for the chocolate and cakes. I tried their croissant and it's equally as good.

B J

One of the top chocolate makers out there ! Croissant are one of the best too

Cynthia Ng

Awesome cakes and pastries. Food never ever disappoints. My favorite bakery in Burnaby! ❤️

Melissa Ratcliff

Desserts are great, but the service is somewhat abrupt.

Matthew Chan

Amazing French Pastries. Hand made chocolates, macarons, chocolate croissants, and amazing French desserts that pair fantastically with some tea or coffee.

Mijune Pak

**Full disclosure: I am a friend of Christophe and have launched a chocolate collaboration with him. I am thrilled to launch my #MijuneXChezChristophe chocolate products with Chez Christophe. He's all about quality, details, and classic technique. I love so many of his creations including his Double Baked Almond Croissants, Pistachio Strawberry Cake, Creme salee, Cassis Vanilla Cake, Tonka Eclair, Tiramisu, and of course Flutes. This is a gem in Burnaby Heights and rivals downtown patisseries and bakeries of similar caliber.

Rod H

Love this place. Everything are perfect.

Chris Hemphill

So nice to get something special.

Karen C

Love their Pumpkin Tart which tasted like creamy egg and Croissant Square with cream filling. Also tried their Sunny Matcha with a nice crunchy sesame base, Earl Grey Choux has strong tea flavour, Tonka Eclair has a nice little surprise, and you can't go wrong with Tiramisu. Mango Chocolate was average.

Stephsteph_04

What's the best pastry in my opinion? The fruit Danish of course! I could eat these all day ????

Lisa T.

Tasty croissants. I love their frozen croissants too. This place is highly recommended.

Robert Trzcinski

Everything is baked fresh daily. I encourage you to try a different thing on every visit. This place it top notch!

Ed Lam

Delicious and fresh. A good place to drop by for coffee and lunch. Love the desserts.

j spain Greene

Chez Christophe features great croissants and other baked goods, fanciful and highly composed cakes and jewel like chocolates. They also serve coffee drinks. There is a small amount of seating for about 20 people. The decor is very modern: spare black and white. On a sunny day, there is room on the patio for about 10. Street parking in front is fairly easy to find.

Gursimran Bhateja (Grey)

Amazing food, lacks a bit from service point of view. Food wise it's a five star worthy place.

Jennifer Oh

I am such a sucker for any type of baked goods and chocolate! This place is like heaven for me. This place has a good choice of breakfast menus and desserts! I wanted to try everything but I had to keep my composure. :) It is a trendy little cafe in Burnaby on Hastings. Parking can be found on side streets or along Hastings.

Rima Raya

The best dessert and coffee place in the lower mainland. So happy it's close to my house.

Peter Cross

Dropped by to check out the wares. Amazing flavours. Delicious croissants and excellent pastries.

leisa h

Wonderful place. Both locations have yummy baked goods and chocolates. Sadly they changed their amazing sandwiches recently though. I used to recommend them to everyone. Please bring back the buttery croissant and peppery arugula that made the sandwiches so great and unique! The new ciabatta just doesn't cut it sadly.

Ellen Sea

I came here with a friend a couple days ago and I was not disappointed. I had the Cassis Vanille and my friend had the infamous croissant cube with salted caramel cream filling. I'm a HUGE fan of mousse cakes and this one looked so beautiful and tasted even better. It was a bit sweet but the black currant cremeux was tart so it balanced really well. It was around $7.5 which is pretty standard for high quality mousse cakes. I would definitely get this again. The croissant cube was delicious as well. It was super buttery (as croissants should be!) and the cream filling was so dreamy. The croissant itself isn't as flaky as a usual croissant, but it was surprisingly light so I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this little but charming bakery. Remember, the desserts here are more on the $$ side than your usual cupcakes and bread bakery due to the amount of work and detail on each confection so don't expect to pay small prices! This stuff is art!

Raylene Ledgerwood

$36 boxes of chocolate and they are out of chocolate legends. Was told I should just tell my gift recipient to go online to find one. Great.....

Ezz Ghanem

Great chocolate factory.

Nelson Andre

Croissant was alright, although not as flaky as real french croissant should be. Servers seemed like they just wanted to go home and be anywhere but there.

Pang Sally

It’s the best patisserie in Burnaby and my go to. Mont Blanc is my fav cake. But their star items are croissants. The rosemary and cheddar croissant get sold out early.

M B

Very delicious!

Andie T

Yummy dessert! They look so pretty!

KI HYUN SONG

best chocolates

Markus Akert

Wonderful quality product - truly Swiss!

Aya Kambetbayeva

Croissant and a cup of latte from Chez Christophe is a pure bliss

James Yang

Their cakes and pastries are delicious. You gotta try it! Their lunch sandwiches are super good too! My favorite is their trio de chocolat is unreal! I'm not a fan of chocolate cakes but this one changed my mind.

Jungbeom Lee

Very nice place.. The caffee was really nice.

Tania C.

Obviously delicious, but they could be much friendlier. We were made to feel silly for asking questions. It’s unfortunate because we live in the neighbourhood and would be back more often if we weren’t treated as if not welcome there. Just because you know you have a good product doesn’t mean you have to be on a pedestal. It’s cool to be kind! Not to mention, you’re in the chocolate and pastries business- for most people it’s a treat to walk into your store.

Monita Cheng

Having tasted superb & delicate dessert from Francois Payard and Elizabeth Falkner, this joint certainly has room for improvement. The sales staff couldn't answer my question specifically when I inquired the cocoa content in the dark chocolate with chili. She said a minimum of 60%! I haven't tried their croissants but they looked overbaked though.

Cem C.

Double baked almond croissants are great. Decent coffee and good service.

Waylon Cheung

Came here for a quick Christmas Eve Lunch. Ordered the Beef brisket croissants sandwich, matcha latte, mocha, double banked chocolate with hazelnut cream croissant and double banked almond and chocolate croissant.

Valentine Kitamura

Great croissant and chocolates!

Annie Lu

Great place for delicious pastries. My fave is their double baked hazelnut croissant! They also serve coffee, lattes, sandwiches, beautifully crafted chocolates, and macarons. Similar to Thierry in downtown Vancouver but more modern ambiance and much less busy!

Dimitri Korol

Delicious pastries with recipes inspired by Swiss classics. Coffee too sour for my taste (Pallet coffee).

Joel Turnill

Probably the best boutique chocolatier and bakery in Vancouver. Sandwiches are excellent as well but pricy.

Alan Chuang

Amazing French dessert! Their dessert literally gave me the WOW when I took the first bite. It's a hidden gem in a relatively quiet neighborhood in Burnaby. Highly recommend.

AdEPT erik

Hazelnut filled croissants to die for but bring a big wallet, also closed Mondays, my day off :(

Graham Knights

Quite possibly the finest chocolates and pastries in the lower mainland! Delectable cakes and desserts that really surround your palette in luxury without excessive sugar. Order ahead for that special occasion since they don't always have all selections available in store.

Kevin

From a food taste point of view this is a fantastic spot...only gave then a 3 because a lady that came in with a dog which clearly was in training to become an assistance dog was told that she could not enter.

Chicken Patty

Amazing. High quality. Decadent desserts. Simply, wow! I can't wait to try more and more!

Olmani Development

We've been there for a few times, and here few words we can say about this place: Coffee in there amazing, croissants and bakery so good! as for a cakes it is professionally done, and taste good but we try it few times, and it has way too much sugar in it, it would be great if 25-30% less sugar use for the cakes, unfortunately overloaded sugar killing the taste and flavor of the cakes in our opinion.

C. A. Hong

Just a great place to purchase pastries from. My go to place for cakes, pastries, etc. Great service and friendly staff. Definitely worth a try if you are in the area. You get what you pay for and I think Chez Christophe provides good value.

Giuseppe Cortinovis

The master of chocolate.

Martha ISHIWARI LOPEZ

I had the pleasure of working with Christophe and his team, not only are they professional and the pastries are very delicious but the presentation and care for their customer definitely exceeded my expectations!. thank you and look forward to working with you in the future.

Aaron Peters

Their avocado chocolate and grapefruit/champagne is absolutely inspired. Their pastries are traditionally French, but lack the quality butter that you would find in France. Their hot chocolate festival hot chocolate was pretty insipid and uninspired. Still, a quality patisserie and chocolatier.

John Xiros Cooper

Great pastries and excellent coffee. The twice baked almond croissant is delicious.

Kyung-Mee Moon (Jenny)

Fancy menu, good hot chocolate. Only fault is that they don't have enough seating space for the number of people there are. The cafe is quite busy!! You'll be lucky to find seats~

Sean Morton

Nice and unique selection of baked goods and chocolates. Definitely tasty stuff here, which pairs well with a Republica coffee drink of your choice. However, there do not appear to be any healthy/healthier treat options, so less a star as I consider that a priority nowadays for any specialty shop.

ThatJayGuy

(Translated) Chocolate choices are awesome, The pastries are just amazing. And the Americano was very good. (Original) Chocolate choices are awesome, Les pâtisseries sont tout même extraordinaire. And the Americano was very good.

Tristan Dickson

The croissant was amazing. Very good selection of high end desserts and chocolates

Edith Clarke

Best coffee and sandwich I've ever had (got a simple latte and the jerk chicken). Their tiramisu was good too. Highly recommend!

Jasmine Li

Great pastries in Burnaby comparable to places like Beaucoup and Thomas Haas. Their double baked matcha croissant is one of my favorites. Also kudos to the consistently efficient service which keeps the line moving at a good pace!

julien crible.

Amazing store. one of the best croissants in Vancouver. the chocolate are delight too. great place to get special offers for mother day, Easter etc all in chocolate nice master piece for great price

Sam Lai

I got a tiramisu cake last week But it’s too sweat A bunch of sugar at the bottom of the cake

Sara L Maseko

I had the grilled cheese and took a chocolate hazelnut croissant to go... Both outstanding... Will be back!

Vinay Punwani

This place is a wonderland of delicious pastries and rich chocolate treats. Also the jerk chicken sandwich is excellent.

Poyan Danesh

Amazing chef and wife team! Everything is pretty much hand made. Try the hazelnut chocolate croissant! You won't be disappointed.

Josephine Christie

They were sold out of baked goods when I got there, which I realized wasn’t surprising late on a Saturday afternoon. I would have left perfectly happy despite not having gotten anything, however the woman behind the counter was quite rude. I asked her a few questions in a friendly way about whether it was normal for them to sell out etc., and all I got were stony-faced one word answers. My partner asked her about what you do with their frozen croissants and her answer was “the instructions are on the package”. Overall, nothing that she said was especially rude, but she was unfriendly and my partner and I both left feeling unwelcome.

Janet Mader

This is my Special Treat place. Everything here is always perfectly made, and the service is friendly and efficient.

TK

Hands down best desserts.

Eduard Khudaiberdin

Tasty, but a bit more expensive than I expected.

Anita Petersen

Yummy perfection

Mary Karmelle Del Rosario

Amazing pastries and helpful staff❤️

Oliver Schmid

The double baked almond croissants are amazing!

Harmony L

Their cakes are good but they have incredibly large boxes for this tiny cakes. I got a 6" cake and the box was at 4 times bigger than that cake itself. I couldn't even fit the box in my fridge. Also it's very misleading and disappointing when ppl see such a large box with such a tiny cake inside no matter how great the cake actually is. Get more appropriate sized boxes for your yummy cakes!

Laura Thomsen

My friend and went here for the Hot Chocolate Festival! The hot chocolate was very tasty and the pastries were to die for! Will come back!

Jesus Guijarro

Best pastry in town, European style, love this place simple delicious

Iva T

Small chocolate/pastry shop. I would return just for the croissants, but their cakes and other pastries are awesome too.

Rosario Fortugno

Biting into a chocolate croissant from chez Christophe is a awe-striking, full body experience that brought tears to my eyes. I will never forget this pastry.

Amanda Tsang

My dentist is nearby here, and I always make a point to come by and grab a croissant, or two. ;)

Gerardo Leyson

Amazing pastries and cakes. It's expensive but worth every pennie.

Jay Kiew

LOVE their Mango chocolat , as it’s loaded with passion fruit and absolutely delicious.

Derek Keeler

Best mocha in town.

Wayne Carrigan

Great, but busy and expensive.

Chris Frketich

Pastries are out of this world, so rich. Such a treat with a freshly brewed Americano. Really appreciate having such an amazing place.in North Burnaby. Keep up the good work!

Craig R

Great pastries

Jennifer Kwok

Yummy dessert. Nice atmosphere. Excellent service. Mushroom soup is good too.

c cc

This place never disappoints, quality and taste are perfect. The only comment is that some of the staff have a bit of an attitude. Still worth it though.

Vancouver Barista

Lovely new location at 4717 Hastings has more seating and bigger space than former location across the street. Coffee from East Van's Pallet is a great addition, and not a normal offering in Burnaby. Excellent pastries. Saw the owner Christophe out helping the lineup which is the sign of a business that cares. Recommend.

Olga Somyk

Very crowded place. There’s no room for an apple to fall. Disappointingly lack of cold beverages for kids like smoothies or lemonade etc. I ordered the orange blossom matcha latte, macaroons and double baked almond croissant and it was amazing. And obviously they need to expand the space.

Yoshihito Takashima

Pretty good French pasties. Best in town IMHO.

Diana Klejne

Really cute spot . Love their chocolates and croissants.

Sy Y.

very creative chocolate

Pure Satori Networks

French pastries!?!! O Yes please. I have sleeptime travel dreams about finding yummy exceptional French pastry shops. And here it is. Super good!

laurence yeh

Herman K

Tried their tiramisu and hot chocolate special during hot chocolate festival 2018. Amazing place with delicious cakes. Hidden gem in North Burnaby. Free parking nearby. Around 6/7 tables inside so prepare to wait for seats. Will try their coffee next time!

Semeon Peradze

This is just art. Perfect harmony of the look, texture, and taste.

Bluish Kornerz (bluishicicles)

I love this place they have reasonably priced baked goods and they taste great. I especially love their croissants as it is lightly, fluffy and crispy. Another thing I would recommend is their hot chocolate. It is gourmet hot chocolate which should be the case as they make chocolate there. I would definitely come back!

Yue Zhou

Awesome cakes and pastries! Quite busy during the lunch hours today but the staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely will come back to try more cakes next time.

Inga Avedyan

The best tiramisu I've tried!

Alessia Fracca

Very nice location and customer service. The best croissants I have ever had in town

Stephanie Hendy

Amazing treats, hot chocolate, and service. ????

connie leung

The pastry was really good, and the ice latte and matcha latte was good too.

Jenna Kim

Best croissants in Burnaby. I love their pastry, chocolate and coffee too!

Keith Behrman

These are among the best croissant I have ever had. Excellent coffee as well. The seating is stool and bench, so not a great place to hang out, but everything else is top notch.

Banafshe ft

Very tasty croissants ????????

Lino Roque

You should go to this place for coffee and goodies. Cakes, chocolates and more sweets. Friendly persons.

Cindy Cassidy

Heavenly chocolates and pastries! Very small and quite busy.

terri moore

Best coffee so far I've found in Vancouver. Pastries are so yummy too. Macarons to die for.

A.T. L.

Excellent Sources of Healthy Options for Birthday Cakes. Thank You Chez Christophe! Very Safe plus Orderly on time. Reservations! ????????????????

Dale Collins

Absolutely amazingly delicious!! The huge variety of scrumptious delectables will go far beyond your expectations! Always a must stop whenever we are in the area!

Caro T

Good pastries, chocolate and coffee. Will come back to try some more!

Shogo Kobey

One of the best in town.

Arun & Jayati Singh

Loved it. Yes, it is expensive but so darn delicious. Some great gifting ideas for special occasions that will be really appreciated. I am so glad I got the option of having my latte with oatmilk. It was amazing. The hand crafted chocolates are to die for. I felt so guilty eating them because they looked like jewels. Enjoy your treats here. Takeout is available and there is a place outside for you to enjoy.

Bob Aschmann

Pastries and coffee are five star. I found the place a bit too loud to sit and chat.

PATRICK STAR

coffee is great, by pallot coffee

Pat R

Been enjoying Chez Christophe since they opened at the first location across the street. When walking in today, I smelled a strong aroma of cooked food...sandwiches or something which smelled great! Bought croissants and pastries. When I got home, I noticed the bag and box smelled like the cooked food. The pastries also had the same scent. The wafers surrounding the chocolate mousse cake were very strong tasting...like pizza ...as were the croissants. Hopefully the issue is taken care of soon:

Richard Campbell

Best chocolate in the Lower Mainland and it's in Burnaby!

Fatemeh Riahi

Very different selection of pastries, good coffee

Lada Golikova

Good place, pastries are too sweet for me though. I got 5 different varieties (including the Valentine's special pastries) and took it with me to my friend's house and everyone thought the desserts were too sweet. Great looking but we could not finish them. Haven't tried the coffee or the chocolates though, maybe next time I am in the hood.

Jade Yue

Love the cake and bakeries.

Shan K

Staff was very rude and drink she made was a poor quality. I got a super watery Matcha latte with odd stain looking art on top. I saw other customer got a watery latte too, and she just left after a couple of sips. Pretty sure this shop sells the worst latte in metro Van area . Get some cakes and grab a coffee from McDonald's next door will be a better option in both quality of drink and customer service wise.

Jason K

New location looks great. Love the sweets

Gloria Fan

Great pastries and hot chocolate

Dorothy Chiu

this hidden gem on Hastings has incredible cake. I have had the tiramisu, strawberry pistachio and trio chocolate cake. All scrumptious! you don't need to have a big slice. The flavors are well balanced and very creative with new flavors. The chocolates for me was sweeter than I would like but I have bought it for others as a gift. And I have gold feedback on them too.

Christian Petersen

This place is absolutely fantastic. A bit expensive, but some of the best desserts I've had in the lower mainland.

Janice Chan

Come here for delicious croissants!

oeroboros

The food was very good, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't really feel like the food I got was extremely memorable, so I can't really give it 5 stars. I'd come here again if I went by it, but I probably won't go out of my way.

Catherine M

This place has the most amazing croissants and pastries in Metro Vancouver. You are definitely in for a treat when you go here! Staff are super helpful too!

Linh L

Order your chocolates ahead of time during Valentine's and Mother's day to save waiting in line. It's the best available in this neck of the woods so be prepared for lineups. They also serve coffee and sandwiches.

L Y

Pleasure to walk in!

Anu

This place lived up to the hyped reviews!! We tried the trio de chocolate, and fresh fruit financier with traditional cappuccinos. The girl at the till mentioned that their mango chocolate was popular, and I am glad I trusted her. All the desserts were fresh and delicious. Also loved their cappuccino! We sat there for about 30 mins and there was a constant influx of people. Will definitely recommend this place.

McCarlou Timbol

Great cafe, I just hope they have more selection

Mency Woo

Amazing desserts!

chinmak

A variety of mousse-based cakes and chocolate truffles. Hot chocolate is my favourite. The shop also sells pastries and sandwiches. Street parking only.

Ramon Terrell

Amazing display and great people working there!

Rozmin A

Food was really good, however very few gluten free options, no salads on the menu. Shared the beef bulgagi sandwich with someone and it was awesome. Desserts were ok, chocolate mousse was good but Hotel Vancouver still has the best one at Griffins. Coffee was good, service with a smile is non existent. Did not feel welcomed at all.

Michael Moreau

The coffee is really good... and then there's something called chocolate...

Karolina Donasewicz

I love the food here, both the sandwiches and the pastries. Coffee is only ok but passable. The main issue I have here is with the staff - I have never had good service here. It is always rushed, blunt, and impatient. It's hard to decide what you want when you enter so maybe give customers 30 seconds? Always leave this place kind of cranky despite loving the pastry.

Alessandro Putzolu

We went here for breakfast and found a nice place with a beautiful pastry show case....but the espresso/cappuccino was terrible, undrinkable.

Monique Lalonde

Their bakery is exceptional. I go every chance I get.

Zan Romeder

I am very picky about finding a real croissant! We go to every bakery that opens and claims to have croissants. We cross the city, we cross the bridge but this place is our favourite. True butter croissant. Goes amazing with a coffee. Highly highly recommend this place.

Tim at Dogwood

I love this place

John Vaskez

Finalement des vrais croissants à Vancouver !!! Fantastic spot, an authentic European bakery definitely not overpriced like the majority of the wannabes in the city. I'll definitely be a customer until the day they change the croissants recipe. Also worth mentioning their coffee... delicious Que du bon travail Christophe... Très heureux d'avoir trouvé ton établissement.

Monika Sulentic

A little on the pricey side but absolutely worth the treat - I've never ordered something from there that wasn't amazing! Service is nice as well, good coffee, and clean store.

Jahanbanoo keshari

Small but beautiful????

Edwin Chen

Awesome classic ham sandwich, must try!!!

anicia karan

best chocolate in the city

Donny Centanni

Nice local spot in Burnaby great tasting chocolate

Ron J Gorman

Light tasty desserts. Great coffee and coffee artistry

Veronika Marcekova

Best americano and a massive selection of fresh pastries ect

Kevenza Murphy

Would give this place 10/5 if I could

Svea Poulsen (Sveava)

Absolutely the best croissants in the lower mainland! Their desserts are perfect for a special treat or in my case any day!

Mr V

Next level.

Noel Hodnett

Excellent pastries.

Sue Lutz

Excellent, Hot Chocolate will go again soon...next time will try chocolates or cakes

Anthony Chow

Great cakes.

Elizabeth Ng

Awesome food!! My favorite is the almond chocolate croissant. People there are very friendly and good service! I'm personally not a fan of their coffee, it's too acidic for my taste. Other than that GREAT place for food and other treats!

Davina Ma

Getting in on the Croissant Cube frenzy @chezchristophe ! My partner got in line this morning to pick up this Salted Caramel Croissant Cube and a Brioche Loaf. The fundamental difference between a regular croissant and a croissant Cube? Purely the shape. The flaky butter layers enrobe a light salted caramel cream that is surprisingly not too sweet. By the way, what happened to the cronut??? Follow me on Instagram @vinaeatsandtreats for more honest restaurant and baking recipe reviews!

Daniel N

Great place to chill and catch up with your friends. We usually come to get our chocolate fix satisfied. They have a large assortment of chocolates, cakes and delicious pastries. Make sure you try their specialty chocolate infused coffees. They are heavenly! You can also order cakes of different sizes and the variety of cakes changes with the seasons. A wonderful gem in Burnaby Heights.

Eschelle Westwood

Beyond good hot chocolates, seating is tight when busy but many are happy to share tables. Great little spot to meet new people

Marjorie Lopes

Never again! Great taste but TERRIBLE service. Staff is rude and rushes you . I wanted to have a nice seat down cafe experience with my mom, much like how we enjoyed doing in Paris so decided this was the right place. Arrived at 445 and was told “it’s ok for you to seat but we can only give you to go packing”. Asked why and if they didn’t close at 530. Was told that by 530 they needed all their dishwasher done and that was why. As we sat with our costly, beautiful pastries on paper boxes (such an environmental waste!!) without even any cutlery, we saw them going around and cleaning while many people were still coming in. It ruined the experience. They were rude and made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. It the place closes at 530, people arriving 45min before should bot be give a lesser experience because they want to be all out by closing, that s ridiculous! Maybe the owner should pay staff for a longer shift to properly serve all customers during opening hours. A real shame. Never again!

Shadi Khosravi

Willing to go

Florence Fung

Customer service is either a hit or miss depends on who is behind the counter. The lady that served me this time was very thoughtful and customer oriented. She asked if I was going to stay for a while to enjoy my sandwich, and my answer was yes. Then she offered to place my to-go order in the fridge (bonus points for being so thoughtful). She also did a marvellous job of making that white swan (someone got skills!). Her attentiveness , and customer service skills made this experience triple times better than all the other times that I have been here. I agree with some reviews saying that there are rooms for improvement for this place, such as cleanliness of the tables and chairs, food and drinks dispense area and the takeout coffee cup lids station are way too far. I can see a likelihood a customer might get burned by the hot beverage, or slipped into the liquid that dripped on the floor during the drinks transferring process. One big slipping hazard.

Wendy Cornejo-Wong

I especially love their artisan chocolates (Cannelle Noisette & Salted Caramel Porter are my favourites), Parmigiano puff pastry flutes, caramel/coconut/maple syrup macarons, and the Trio de Chocolat dessert! ???? I’ll keep coming back for these! ????????

Charles Walsby

Just get the almond croissants. Do it now. Seriously.

Cristina Jurj

I love this place but I recently bought a travel cake from here on Oct 20 and I realized later that it was made on Oct 14 and fairly dry. Really disappointed as their baked goods (croissants and such) are to die for.

Aly

The meringues, mousse, macarrones, as well as some chocolates are gluten free! So there ate some options, the hot drinks ate a bit pricey and are only sweetened with sugar. They have paying type sandwiches too. Everything was delicious just not budget conscious.

Aria Yu

Love the croissant cube especially the salted caramel flavor. Pastries always maintain high quality. Staff are friendly, patient, and helpful with answering questions. I love here!!! Highly recommend!

Jamie Lee

can get reallybusy but their desserts are so good!!

Qu O

(Translated) Bread and sweets were delicious Matcha latte seems to be using real green tea I bought meringue but it was delicious I want to go again. Today I went to the Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival Strawberry hot chocolate It was delicious with a little dark eyes Marshmallows were followed but this was also delicious (Original)

Meesh

Got the croissant cube with passion fruit curd inside + a double baked almond croissant. Both were nice and flaky and the curd was rich and tangy. Recommend coming here for their chocolates and cakes too!!!

Alex Gedala

Thomas haaz has some serious competition. Watch out he doesn't exude the same level of arrogance as the Haaz establishment. Staff is crazy friendly. However their espresso shots aren't always consistent.

Shawnette C

So I'm giving this shop a 1star due to my experience. So I emailed them, no response and called 5 times today then finally spoke to someone .It was like trying to win a prize on the radio when you have to keep calling back. I spoke to a young lady and had her set aside a tart for me too pick up . Rush from picking up my toddler and got to the store 5:32 pulled on the door, knocked the window then a young lady told me they are closed. It's not like she was the only one in the store, their were 3 ladies working .I said it's 2minutes past and I'm just going to grab something quick. She said sorry, me with my toddler on my hip I said ok. I guess I'm never going to try these pastries. One less place to spend my money.

Tommy Lee

One of the best of cholocate and cakes in town..

Michel Cote

delicious desserts. every bite was a pleasure in my mouth. I choose Palmier, macadamia, daily dessert. my mouth was full of joy. I will return to try other joyfull mouth bite to experience.

Jack n Carol Taylor

BEST pastries in Vancouver!! Line up to get in but well worth it

Alexis Scigliano

Simply the best. Best croissants, best chocolates, best cakes, great service. Such a treat, I feel so fortunate to live close by. The ham and cheese croissant is what I would walk a mile for ????

Dickson Choy

Liked it! Very nice croissants!

Kevin Wang

If I lived closer I'd buy stuff from here everyday. Pastries are the best thing here in my opinion. The cakes are delicious and the chocolate is fine, but the pastries are what I remember the most. I really enjoy the fruit danish, ham & cheese croissant (reminds me of croissants in Paris), and the matcha danish. It's unfortunate that I only have pictures of the cakes and chocolates, because I would just want to eat the pastries! My co-worker says their coffee is great too, but I wouldn't know. The coffee takes a bit though, so don't get it thinking you can leave a minute afterwards.

D Lee

This place is the best place for pastries like croissants and goodies like macarons and chocolate goodies! Always a goto place for me

Penny Rusty Sophie

Finally got to try out Chez Christophe in North Burnaby. Been looking for a place to get a small birthday cake and their Mango Chocolat just called out to me. Love that they come in different sizes. The one we got was for 4-5 servings (ie. perfect for the glutton I am). 70% dark chocolate mousse, mango and passionfruit confit, mango and passionfruit curd, chocolate sponge and hazelnut crunch. Some might say it's a bit rich but I found it to still feel light. The hazelnut crunch on the bottom was a nice contrast to the otherwise creamy texture (would have loved it more if it was a bit thicker).

Stephanie Rose

Delicious, beautiful, highly recommended.

Duyoo Gong

Very good..

Youngsoo Song

Taste is 4-5 but the service and friendliness bumped it up to 5.

Dee-Ann

So happy to find a place where I could easily acquire gluten free treats and enjoy every morsel without the worry of becoming ill later.

Henry Ho

A hidden gem in Burnaby. Excellent pastries and coffee to pair

Kristin Dorey

Chez Christophe had my favourite hot chocolate during the Hot Chocolate Festival. It was rich, salty, sweet, and served with chocolate covered popcorn. There is a wide variety of pastries, which so far, have all been excellent.

Kylie Gayon Woo

Amazing collection of cakes, chocolates and coffee. Especially their cake is to die for! However you have to expect long waiting, and the it takes forever to get my coffee. But still good place to go! Want to try every cakes they have <3

Abhay Verma

Tried the cassis vanille, it was incredible. My only regret was not taking a picture of the cake before devouring it, it looked like a piece of art. Will definitely be coming back to try more. Wish it was a little more accessible by transit but wycd.

Tim T

Great place to grab a coffee and croissant. Not as busy as Beaucoup.

Allan Josef

Straight up artisanal chocolates and sweets, approved by my loving wife from France. She loves the chocolate, and though I do too, I honestly go there for there espresso. ONLY 1 person on staff makes good espresso though so be cautious who you choose to make your drink.

Amin Shirvani

Very good hygiene and social distancing in this crazy corona time. A bit pricey though.

Davide Gilli

Unreal croissants! ????

livia O

Super cute cafe, with a a great atmosphere. Relaxed, chic and homey. Coffee was rich and decadent. Service was a tad slow when busy. The mocha was very good. Would definitely cam back here for lunch.

カイテン

Everything was delicious. Divine!

chris herbert

Beautiful pastries and treats, and Christophe is very friendly. Nice patio as well.

Marie “giblert” Gilbert

The best croissans in town!

Cathy Puskas

Amazing pastries and cakes!

Riley T

Delicious macaron & chocolates, I was looking for decadent treats and that is exactly what I got. Convienent ordering online - shipping was super fast with great packaging. Thank you!

Cheryl Lee

We ordered the Mango Chocolat cake for Father's Day. There was quite a lineup when picking up the cake but it was well worth the wait. The cake is delicious! My dad loves it!!!

Kathy Dawson

Love their coffee and the grilled cheese sandwich. Always a treat to go here!

Cheryl Chan

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! This place is a dessert lover heaven. Their famous cube croissant - very nicely done with different fillings, the cube croissant was flaky & not even oily.. I am sure there’s butter in it but couldn’t feel the oil in …

May Malek

I don't think there's any other bakery that can have these wide selection of very tasty croissants! It's so hard to xhose when you get in, as everything looks (and of course tastes) delicious and exciting. Apart from the perfectly baked butter crossiant and hame and cheese croissant, we loved the everything croissant,m. The double baked hazelnut is always a great choice if you want something sweet, crunchy and yet tender. I've never tried their chocolates, but I'm sure they'd be amazing.

Heather Miller

Great coffee, great treats, and amazing staff. Definitely would go back!

Sergey Brusentsov

Nice cafe with good selection of cakes, candies, coffee, and tea. Cozy interior. Great service (at least at 11 a.m.). They have a stool for babies, which is great if you have one. The only thing I did not get - why they don't have prices on cakes? As per may calculations all single pieces of cakes cost around $6.0-6.5.

Peter

The perfect place to spoil yourself.

Niis Nay'aa Chachim'multhnii

Amazing pastries.

Fred Lee

delicious croissants!

Irene Wan

Received a box of their mixed special Swiss chocolate for my birthday gift! Love love it, not only delicious, definitely eye candy also! Excellent quality and presentation! Highly recommend! 100% for sure will do more purchases in near future!

Denis Londry

The smell of butter and pastries is intoxicating

Fabrizio Marchione

I get hungry just thinking at their pastries! Great selection, taste and presentation are sublime

Laura Jones

Absolutely amazing pastries. The tiramisu square was life changing.

T Y

All taste great. So flavourful. Satisfied.

Mat Ho

It was a good experience. The lavender dessert was meh but the 2 croissant sandwiches were both pretty good

Edward Zhou

Came here for their chocolates. They have 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5 boxes available but it wasn't listed on their instore menu, you have to ask. The only problem was that their 5x5 boxes were pre packed, you didn't have the option to choose the chocolates. Considering the price point (40+ bucks for 25 pieces), you'd think you would see them pack the chocolate "fresh". Quite a big let down considering the chocolate themselves were amazing. They pride themselves on fresh made chocolates, maybe my chocolates were sitting on the shelves for two or three days. Who knows.

Kitty Lau

Great patisserie, yummy croissants and danishes. The chocolate looks amazing too!

Livia Velasquez

(Translated) Excellent desserts, excellent coffee, and very good attention. The site is very nice. I highly recommend it. (Original) Excelentes postres, excelente café, y muy buena atención. El sitio es muy agradable. Lo recomiendo ampliamente.

Angela Jeffery

I treated myself as part of my birthday and for the Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival. I also got myself a couple of goodies while I was there. $19 for hot chocolate and two pieces of pastry is a bit expensive but the first few bites and sips seem well worth it. Unfortunately I forgot my hot chocolate on the counter when I picked up some groceries at Safeway and I'm kicking myself because the "Morning Frost" was delicious.

Jessie Ye

One of the more unique pastry establishment in GVA. Like Thierry and Thomas Haas, they serve coffee, pastry, dessert, sandwich, and chocolates. Unlike the others, Chez Christophe is not afraid to explore new flavours and textures. Their extensive usage of herbs and spices like sesame and curry makes the Asian part of me squeal with delight. If you love all things sweet, you owe it to yourself to visit this place.

Tabasom Eblaghie

Every bite is out of this world! Don't miss out on the strawberry macaroons, and the double baked hazelnut croissants - so rich that one croissant can feed 3! Tried the vegan roasted cauliflower sandwich today - amazing!

Justine Allison

I have eaten many ham and cheese croissants in Europe, yet this place had the best one I've ever had.

Amy W

Delicious cakes and pastries! Very decadent and make great gifts for loved ones. I’d go back to try out more of their goodies. Great social media presence on IG! Love the behind the scenes photos and videos.

Shanny Rann

Gourmet chocolate and delicate French pastries! Great place for coffee too.

Erika G

Beautiful desserts. The only sandwich I tried was roastbeef either with a soft cheese or a creamy sauce in a croissant pastry. Way too rich and oily. The macarons were not bad.

Travis Lin

Tried to overcharge for a cake. Asked staff to check the price, only to have her still overcharge me! Had to wait for them to serve other customers before they could figure out how to process the refund. Desserts were fine, but to try to pull the wool over a customer's eyes - unacceptable.

Michael Agon

Great pastries, chocolate and coffee

Gee

Delicious in house made chocolates, baked goods, macaroons, hot chocolate, coffee drinks, all very good! Nice cafe! 4 stars because I came in 20 minutes before closing and the customer service was definitely implying they wanted to leave and were frantically cleaning around me, more preoccupied with closing duties over being attentive with a new customer. Still a must try, Swiss owned cafe!

Rebecca Wieland

Amazing hot chocolate festival menu, quite cozy

Aaron Wentworth

Nice staff. Fresh food and very professional

Lizeth Edith Hernandez Piña

The best place to get a nice desert

Kaeli Grotz

We come here a lot (too much?), and the double-baked croissants are perfection.

Charles Amaliri

Gem of a place.

VictorMW Li

This was my second visit. I was disappointed with both visits that I had. This time I was disappointed with the lack of QC and presentation for their hot chocolate drink, Ruby Slippers. I ordered it as a sit in drink. I was not expecting it to be scalding hot. It was also over sweetened. The side dish was presented in a disposable paper cup that you would use to put in ketchup at McDonalds. Truly an uninspired drink. Service was satisfactory since it was mostly self serve. Staff looked bored and couldn't crack a smile; whereas staff from Thomas Haas would be smiling and cheerful. I had no complaints regarding the Tiramisu cake that I ordered. It was visually beautiful and tasteful. Next time, when I crave hot chocolate, I would rather drive to Metrotown to Mon Paris Patisserie for their hot chocolate, which was delicious and was presented beautifully even though I ordered it as a takeout.

Amy Truong

Amazing cakes

Jessica Cristine

the sweets are pretty beautiful but the flavour not really.

Jeff Francis

Probably the best croissant I've had in the city so far, but just got back from Paris a week before trying this, and I had some better ones there.

Wes Gorgichuk

I had a hand picked box of chocolates from here. They looked amazing, but tasted not very good. The flavors were all wrong, and in some cases downright bad. Don't waste your money on chocolate that's all show and no substance.

Mariposa Dulay

Love this place I come here a lot I love there pear tea!!! Their cakes are cute very delicious and pretty presentation chocolates are THE BEST. I come here everytime I'm in the area, one of the best cafes around...

Emily Kwok

I tried their croissants and chocolate hazelnut croissants and it was obvious they were from the day before, as they were stale, not flakey, underwhelming. It’s not fair to charge $5.75 per piece and would have expected more. I’m sure they would be yummy if they were fresh.

Mimi L

Pickup for pre-order before Christmas, management put extra staffs to handle business. Well done!!

Henry

I’m thrilled to have finally visited @chezchristophe I have dine at neighbouring restaurants many times and passed by this Burnaby Height’s gem. I was there during opening and they were quite busy but they were very organized with social distancing. Here’s what I’ve tried: ???? Tokyo Fog- English Breakfast and Cherry Blossom infused Rose Water Tea Fog ????Sakura Hanami- Steamed milk with Cherry Blossom infused Rose Water dusted with Ruby chocolate ????Croissant Cube with salted caramel These gorgeous Sakura theme drinks are only available for a limited time. They are beautifully designed latte art! I love the subtle sweet aromatics of the drinks and they got a good balance of sweetness! The beautiful drinks goes perfectly with their pastries. When you visit Chez Christophe, I highly recommend their croissant cubes! These freshly baked croissant cubes are filled each day with the chef’s choice of fillings. This croissant cube exceeded my expectations. It’s super crispy and flaky on the outside and it was filled with a creamy salted caramel filling this day. It tasted as good as it looked. Overall, I felt everything was well executed. The flavours were on point and there was a perfect balance of sweetness. They offer great value for the quality of work and ingredients that goes into the drinks and pastries. I will definitely be back to try their other croissant cube flavours and the croissant puffs. IG: @vancityh

Congo

Very tasteful treats and cakes are superb in flavour!!

Yuki Cloud

Their sandwich selection isn't that extensive but the vegetarian Roasted Cauliflower sandwich that I tried was delicious, with just the right amount of crunch to the bread to contrast the soft filling. The hand poured coffee I had was smooth and rich, and my friend's orange blossom matcha latte was equally good, and not too sweet. They have a large selection of beautiful cakes, macarons and chocolates that I'm looking forward to trying next time.

Danny Juang

Exceptional quality Desserts, croissants and chocolates. Love the double baked almond chocolate croissants. Ordered cake a few times, and service is fantastic. Couldn't remember why my order could not be fulfilled but they gave me two orders of something else instead.

Chelsea Cheung

I stop by to grab some treats (cakes, chocolates, macaroons, lattes) once in a while. Friendly staff, quick service and always tasty food.

Esther Choi

This is the place will make everyone happy.

Dylan Yates

There are plenty of less expensive shops with (imo) superior coffee. If you want a $6 croissant this is your spot.

jUlien Delbassée Leflon

Best croissant in Vancouver and it's also fairly priced. So thankful for their chocolate hazelnut croissant. It changed my life. Amazing products by dedicated and passionated craft man and woman

Brigitte

We just ordered the first cake there. It's really amazing, they know how to make the perfect mix of crunchy base layer, tasty spongy cake and smooth mousse (this was chocolate mango cake). Their pralines are very good too, so are their macarons. They don't have the more traditional Swiss cakes but rather combine the craft of making Swiss cakes with some new inventions.

Kassia Holland

Beautiful cakes and chocolates and friendly staff. A must visit if you're looking to treat yourself or someone else!

Martin Gui

Best pastries in Western Canada

Margie Ville

Everything here is yummy. Period. Try some interesting chocolates. Or their yummy pastries. All very good!

Steven Smailes

Street parking 'round the corner was easy. Service was fast and efficient. I'm gradually working my way thru' Vancouver's top 10 chocolatiers, this is one of them, but I haven't tested the product yet; Christmas stocking stuffers. I may upgrade the stars if I love the chocolate. ????

Heidi W

Love their bakery selection! Their croissant is one of the best. I always come for their double baked and other things. Christophe is there from time to time, and he’s super friendly!

Dallas Cheung

First time at their new larger location. Loved their white hot chocolate entry in the Hot Chocolate Festival. "Sunny's Matcha" is the best! You have to try it!

Blair Smith

Amazing friendly service even in these pandemic times. Ordered online for a sinfully delightful chocolate birthday cake for someone else. Communication was good, everything as expected! Looking forward to checking out more of their wares, as I like other things even more than chocolate.

Donna Laf

Great place to experience the hot chocolate festival! A bit pricy but great selection. Limited seating. Staff was friendly.

Sentheepan Senthivel

Best hot chocolate I've had in Vancouver!

Bill Hepler

It is good. We had croissants from there recently. They were good, but not as good as out local coffee shop ones to my taste. Chez Christophe has an impressive selection of fancier pastries.

Claudius Tucker

Yum.

Talisha Jiratwasu

I’ve tried their Earl Grey Choux and Almond Croissants. Their Earl Grey Choux was the best combination of different textures and flavours despite the fact that the Earl Grey flavour did not quite come out. Almond croissants were so good even when I ate them cold. Wanna try their Croissant Puff too. :)

Jack Lantern

Great little place. Staff always so friendly. They make excellent drinks with care. Always greet me with a smile as soon as I walk in. Best quality chocolate found here. High prices so beware. Quality is worth the cost but hard to make it a regular experience.

Tanya Terrell

Super friendly staff and beautiful desserts and treats!

Stella Lee

I will come here maybe once a month or so. One time I went and tried their double baked almond croissants and it was amazing. It wasn't dry but buttery and crispy enough. There was enough filling as well. Today I went and tried their vanilla cherry filled croissant that was hollow. It was okay but I prefer their double baked croissants instead. Their cakes are amazing as well but expensive. They are usually super busy on Sundays, but if you go early enough on a rainy day you might get a seat. The lattes are flavourful as well. My friend got some of their chocolates and she said they were amazing. It is also a good place to get gifts but be prepared to spend some money. They do a good job packaging their gifts and give you a nice paper bag to go with it. Definitely worth a visit with friends or family.

Lee McGuire

The finest chocolate and pastries.

Tablet Carlin

Expensive , but yummy.

Ken Tsang

If you're looking into this place you probably already know to expect world class dessert you would sometime see on cooking shows. Well I can confirm this to be true. Unlike most desserts out there, these actually taste as good as they look. We are fortunate to have this as well as Thiery and Thomas Haas.

Alison Shepherd

Perhaps the chocolates are tasty but the staff aren’t friendly or helpful, especially if you stop in for lunch. You all looked somewhat bored and unhappy even though you all worked diligently in keeping things running.

Eric Zhi

AWESOME bakery. A bit on the pricier side but well worth it. Love their croissants, especially the hazelnut and the matcha. Their chocolates and cakes are delicious as well. You can't really go wrong here

Hot chocolate 123

I am not sure if other cakes are good, but matcha was off balanced. Yuzu was way too strong. For that price point, I expected it to be better.

Maxman Williams

Wow, about as good as you're going to get for pastries. Christophe is a matter when it comes to his creations and Jessica and her staff make sure that you're well looked after. The chocolate croissants were amazing and we had a raspberry eclair, along with a few other goodies. Their coffee and cappuccinos we're awesome, absolutely outstanding. The awards won are for a very good reason. Head out for a visit, it'll be worth the trip. Once you go once, you'll make it a regular visit!

Raymond L

Good pastries, bad service, unapologetically rude staff. We came here to try the hot chocolate festival drinks. The cafe was busy, and obviously understaffed. The cashier was very rude. She was yelling at the customers, and walked off to do something else halfway through taking an order while the customer was still speaking. Barista slammed drinks on the counter and didn’t call out customer names. Zero apologies given. I understand it’s busy so they must be stressed and frustrated, but there is no need to take it out on your customers. We felt very unwelcome here. The barista served our drinks in paper cups instead of glass, because the staff couldn’t clean the glassware fast enough. We were very disappointed since the hot chocolate was the sole reason we came here, and the pictures online showed a really great presentation. Wish the barista asked us first, we would have been totally ok with waiting until they had glassware ready. There were also cleanliness issues. One of our plates had bits of leftover food still stick on it. The counter near the coffee equipment had several large spills on it that was never wiped up in the duration of our half hour visit. We did like the hot chocolate and pastries here. They were well made. Flavor was good and not overly sweet. Not sure if we should visit again to give them a chance to redeem themselves. No customers deserve the kind of bad attitude given here. But maybe the staffs were just having a bad day?

Nick Tong

Great fresh baked goodies. The cube croissants are delicious and fun.

Cassandra Tymochenko

Everything here is delicious! A must try for anyone that loves chocolate and baked goods!

Perry Pomponio

Best desserts and pastries in town.

John Rhee

Awesome place for deserts.

Tamsin Spooner

Scrumptious hazelnut chocolate croissant freshly baked and still warm. A beautiful cafe with all the sweets you could desire! The seating is not the best...

muneera wallace

Love their stuff but am constantly frustrated by their service. Enough so that I prefer to buy my croissants at JJ bean that opened down the street now. I often find the staff is short or curt. It’s unfortunate cause their baking is delicious. I just prefer to spend my money where I can get a smile and feel cared for.

Kenny Liu

You guys have the best food flavour ever. Your cakes taste delicious.

Carmen Wong

Was recommended Chez Christophe for their croissants - but they were subpar. You can find much better, flakier, fresher croissants elsewhere. Service was also mediocre - staff clearly didn't want to be there and had no interest in being friendly, let alone helpful.

Jinny C

Went there the first time today. Been wanting to try their croissant cube for the longest time and it did not disappoint! They were serving up Lychee flavour today. I was lucky that I grabbed their last croissant cube for the day and it was only 10:30 in the morning!! So, go there early if you don't want disappointment! The creamy lychee filling was very nice and fruity. It goes perfectly with the crunchy croissant crust! We also grabbed their chocolate hazelnut croissant and double baked chocolate hazelnut croissant. Both excellent and we have no complaints! Will go back and try their other croissant cube flavour when we get the chance!

Anita Riddell

Fast and efficient delivery on their baking chocolate!

H.M. MEIER-ROSS

I recently received a Chocolate, (various goodies) from your establishment in Cornwall, Ontario It was a present from my son. Excellent quality, the package was well packed. I enjoyed the contents With great pleasure. Highly recommend.

Love their sweets. Have bought cakes multiple times and have always enjoyed them. Between this place and one of Thomas Haas's stores, you get to taste what great chefs can do. Amazing. Try all their cakes as you will most likely enjoy all :) .

G T

Good pastries and good service, just expensive as you'd expect for this tier of a place so definitely more of a treat for my budget than a regular go to place

Brenda Borrowman

Excited that we have a family birthday coming up. I will be in for a cake, but it is hard to decide. Maybe it would be easier for the birthday person to choose. My favorite is the chocolate mango ,to die for!

Judy Thompson

The cakes are fabulous

L Lee

Great almond croissants, individual cakes are also quite good but wish they varied their offerings more often.

Graeme Ward

Amazing baked goods and chocolate. And they know how to make a proper cappuccino.

John lee

North Burnaby's secret chocolate shop. High quality product. They make a mean chocolate croissant.

Sharon T.

Their products are always amazing, but it unfortunately, I can't say the same a out the staff. It seems to he hit or miss. Sometimes I get super friendly staff and sometimes they act like they have a stick up their a#* because they don't feel the need to offer friendly customer service because their products sell themselves.

Selena Chung

Came here with a friend for the hot chocolate festival. It was extremely busy on a Saturday morning, but we were lucky enough to get a seat. I got the strawberry hot chocolate and a double baked matcha croissant. My friend got the lemon white hot chocolate and the sandwich. My hot chocolate had a really cute picture, but I found it a little bit too thick and sweet. I also didnt taste any strawberry. My friend's hot chocolate on the other hand was really good. It was lemony and not too sweet. The double baked croissant was to die for too. It was so good, though not much matcha taste. I would definitely get it again. This place is a bit out of the way for me, but definitely worth going to if you are in the area.

Veritas Wadsworth

New favorite place for lattes

Fatima Kheraj

Great pastries

Deb Walter

Great for lunch and buying treats for gifts.

Terence Leung

The roasted cauliflower sandwich was not bad. The butternut squash soup and the gianduja cerise were both pretty good. The double baked croissant with hazelnut was the best.

Ben Libalizadeh

Pastry is great and I love eating here but my experience today was terrible. I go in to buy 6 pastries and 2 drinks and my total comes to $70 thought it was weird since the most expensive pastry on there was $7 and the rest were around $5. But whatever I trusted it and paid it. Look at my receipt after and there’s an additional 3 pastries I didn’t order or get and they charged me for 5 boxes when I got 2. I tell them about the mistake and they refund me $8.80. That’s less than 2 of the pastries but I was already annoyed and didn’t bother saying anything. I get my drinks food and go to my car. I start driving away and half of the drink dumps out because they didn’t close the lid properly!! All over my car. Now I have to detail my vehicle so it doesn’t smell like PSL. Sure my fault for not checking if the lids were closed properly but it was the icing on top of the cake for my experience here. I’m a regular customer but now I hesitate to go back after my experience today. Note to all you future customers check your receipt after ordering to make sure what you ordered is what you paid for/got! The cashier doesn’t care to double check EDIT: since this review chez Christophe has refunded the correct amount of money and has tried their best to accommodate me. I know one experience doesn’t define the store so I appreciate it and will change my review stars

Nathan Kim

One of best quality dessert esp. croissant! Also loved their cakes:)

Brett Cooney

Poor customer service. This cafe is done for me.

Nyck Jamie

Pastries are amazing.. definitely over priced

Val Feng

Everything there is delicious. You can't miss them. Having good time to share a cake with your love.

Karim Burnaby

My fav place! Love their coffee, creative seasonal treats, cakes and pastries. Great staff!

Q T

Very good quality cakes and pastries. All the varieties are yummy and beautifully presented. The only draw back is the poor design of their cake box. Other than than, everything is good. Thank you for providing us good quality food.

Natalia

Went for the hot chocolate festival- great drinks. Poor customer service from one employee in particular. Did not appreciate getting lied to. Saw same person snap at another customer later...

Erica

Lovely store with a patio and amazingly friendly & attentive staff. Chez Christophe also carries a wide selection of premium & authentic French pastries, cakes tarts and chocolate.. Great quality overall, and I’d definitely want to come back to try their other creations. Boba Cube Croissant Cube (limited item $7.55): this was such a unique and tasty creation. It has perfectly chewy pearls inside from Share Tea (Lougheed location) and a milk tea cream filling. They’ve really perfected their famous croissant cubes. I really liked the texture of it, and it’s buttery and flaky. Coconut Croissant Cube $4.95: loved the texture and flakiness of this croissant as well, but the cream was on the sweeter to me personally. Subtle coconut flavour. I believe their croissant cube cream/filling is on rotation and changes daily.

Jovia Pang

We came here for the hot chocolate festival, we ordered ruby hot chocolate and golden genie both are too sweet and too milky. The service is the worst! I will never come back again. I rather go to Ganache on Homer st.

Kutaru

Boutique little coffee shop with delicious pastries and some great goodies like home made jam. Defenitely on the pricey side. Super friendly staff.

Von W

Everything is soooooo Wonderfully pretty and delicious! Macarons, cakes, pastries! Our go to place to get our take home to bake croissants!

Svet Milev

Very good pastries, a bit overpriced. Also some of the staff is a bit snooty, but I guess you expect that when you go to a place called Chez Christophe.

Roman Guzzman

Sweet memories sweet dreams and sweet organisms

Mon S

The macarons are so good !! I came because of the hot chocolate festival. Delicious.

Chelsea

Seriously fantastic! So delicious! I love France and i've had the pleasure of ingesting so many fantastic pasteries during my travel there, Chez Christophe's rivals the best i've ever had. Such a treat to hace thus decadence in our backyard. Well done Christophe!! Order Double bake anything and you won't be disappointed. On days i want a little less heavy i go for the pull apart. Fabulous!

John Sun

Best pastries

Carol Price

Fabulous cakes at a reasonable price

Lurene Mcnicol

You won't find better croissants anywhere!

Julio Ng

Delicious and gorgeous pastries.

A Baron

Amazing croissants!! Really elegant chocolates and beautiful chocolate sculptures. A gem in burnaby.

Mike K

The pastry is on the sweet side, not quite worth the asking price. Worst thing is the customer service. I've been there a few times, each and every time the staffs shown an attitude, and seemed bothered by any of my questions.

Lisa Smith

Great coffee and beautiful french pastries. The pan au chocolate is incredible and they have oat milk!

Shoku M

Got a box of chocolates. A bit pricy, and nothing mind blowing. Staff weren't educated about the flavors. I still prefer other chocolate places in lower mainland.

Brent M

Update, December 2020: I've upgraded my review based on a more recent visit in which both desserts and both hot chocolates were awesome! I loved the seasonal peppermint hot chocolate and my wife had the regular which was also delicious. And the cakes - the Mango Chocolate melted on our tongues and left a great lingering taste sensation; the Double Baked Almond Chocolate Croissant was also a treat to the taste buds. It's a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for here - amongst the best-tasting desserts you'll find anywhere in BC, so a worthwhile treat for special occasions which I wish I could afford more often! Review from 3 years ago: Only discovered this place as a result of the Hot Chocolate Festival and so glad we came here! The pastries are delicious, although the two items we had don't appear on their online menu (apple turnover and a type of cinnamon bun). The Tropical Storm hot chocolates were disappointing though. The "pineapple" aspect consisted of what appears to be pineapple puree or jam dolloped on the marshmallow which was overdone with shredded coconut. To us, the shredded coconut detracted from the experience having to deal with bits of coconut in your mouth among what would have been very tasty hot chocolate. While it was good, it certainly was not worth the $7.00 price tag! If we return here, we'll stick to the desserts, particularly some of the chocolate fare which looks delicious!

Pat Waslen

Great pastries, and chocolate drinks. Somewhat small seating area(but better than the old location). We do believe they make the best "Yule Logs" for Christmas. You can not beat them.

Amanda Yee

Been going here for years, it’s a staple on my list of stores to visit when I am in the area. Their croissants are, imo, THE BEST - Better than Thomas Haas, Beaucoup, or any other patisserie! They also have great chocolate selection and desserts too! Bonus: you can often spot Christophe in the store!

Annabelle Adriano

Croissants are amazing!!

Jonathan Reimer

Drove 45min to get a cubed croissant after seeing their ad through dished on Instagram. When I arrived they had no cube croissants, no almond croissants. Pretty much low on everything overall in the early afternoon.

Michael

mango chocolat is bomb ????

Shiu-Ming Tay

Well made coffee, great chocolates, and excellent croissants! What more can you ask for from a French cafe?!

Alan Ho

We ordered a variety of cakes. Everyone enjoyed them. The store is appealing and clean. The staff were friendly.

Momo K

Top notch place for pastries and decadent little cakes. Service was also great!

jamasianman

Video review on youtube: vancity food crew chez christophe . My friend and I went here to get some sweets before they closed on Family Day. However they ran out of cake, so we had a croissant and some chocolates and macarons. Everything was pretty good, subtle chocolates and good macarons. I would return someday to try their cake.

The Turtle

Good pastries, but quality control should be better (especially for the price). I got a Tuscan tart which was half bare. Be sure to pay attention to the items they pick for you, since they're not all up to par.

Manda S

Great spot in Burnaby for chocolates, pastries and cakes! I’ve bought macaroons, pastries and a mango chocolate mousse cake from Chez Christophe and have never been disappointed. Prices are really reasonable too!

Katherine Zhou

My favourite afternoon tea place.

Wes Carter

Fabulous chocolate creations

Vienna Lam

Delicious cakes and savory danishes. I hope they'll consider carrying larger cup sizes for their drinks!

Audrey T

Definitely a solid spot for pastries if you’re on Hastings street (burnaby side)! The pastries are very flaky and they have a great selection of croissants, desserts, cakes and chocolates. My friend and I tried a few different pastries and they were all consistently great breakfast items. The croissant cube was perhaps a little overhyped? Still good nonetheless.

Kent Seto

Good service and great desserts. Croissant cubes and tiramisu are excellent choices

ace baker

Best chocolates and croissants hands down. I'm a baker by training and I'm pretty picky about baked goods. This is the best croissant I've had since I was in France and I've tried them all over the city. Too many bakeries take shortcuts with thier croissants but not here. Buttery and flaky goodness. But don't stop at the croissants. The chocolates, pastries and macaroons are all crafted with equal care and the finest ingredients. The only downside to coming here is it's so hard to choose what delicious treat to eat.

Jacky Lai

Cakes have hotel style, the service just so so!

K. G. A

Best coffee and croissants in North Burnaby. Hands down.

Edward Juo

The cake tasting not good at all. Service is bad beyond our expectations. Won't recommend his for anyone.

Yvonne Wakabayashi

Croissants are just wonderful!!!

Rony Friedman

Very friendly staff and clean facility! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming again.

Rizwan Kheraj

Amazing Ham and Cheese Croissants!

sean dufault

Fantastic parties and coffee. Courteous helpful staff

Victoria W.

Amazing pastries and cake! Their cube croissant is the best croissant I've had in Vancouver. The trio de chocolat cake is my favorite cake right now - so beautiful, delicious and not overwhelmingly sweet, love it! Will definitely be back here again.

vince disalvo

Very decadent

Kai Lin

Awesome cakes and pastries, especially the cakes. They offer handmade chocolates too, which are good but they need more varieties.

P C

Bought some tiramisu for my boyfriends birthday, he loved it.

Gordon Brown

Wonderful

Jean

Best Croissants and sandwiches which are always sold out. Yummy pastries. Thank you Christophe and team. Even open Sunday's.

David Y

Popular pastries and chocolates

Eddie So

Good coffee and bakery

Lily Nguyen

We got 1 of each of the chocolates and really impressed with the flavours. The chocolates come with a flavour guide and each one held its integrity. The croissants were not bad either.

josephine chan

Delicious pastry????

Shamim Ras

Last 2 week, I wanted to order a birthday cake in a size which was not in their website and I had to call and ask about that. I talked to their staff and she said they have it and I paid for that. The next day I wanted to ask for adding a name on cake and I called again, unfortunately they said they cant make the cake in my favorite size and it's not available and I can choose another cake or they refund my money. The point was if they dont have that cake they should call me earlier,if I didn't call back, probably I didn't have another option except choosing another cake!! I prefered spend my money and time on a reliable shop!

Jessi Pinto

Pastries and coffee were great! The staff was generally friendly, however the person who attended us, Alicia, who appeared to be the shift manager, was far from friendly and welcoming to our group. When we asked her about various pastries, she gave short, impatient answers which came off as rude and made us feel most unwelcome.

R L

We loved the pastries and used to love the service. But we’ve noticed that the service at the front has gone down hill and been really quite rude and unhelpful lately. We used to be regulars but have been disappointed with the last few times we went in to pick up some chocolate gifts and pastries. I understand that sometimes it gets busy and we don’t expect a greeting all the time, but we were really astonished that she not only ignored us (while there was no line) but barely said a word or even looked at us when we finally ordered. She was not knowledgeable about any of the chocolate products and just shrugged at me when I asked what she would recommend. I hope this changes because there are other bakery shops with equally delicious pastries and chocolates with much better service.

Drew Powell

Learn to return a phone call, you’ve lost out on some valuable business!

R David

A sad experience ... since it was my birthday went this afternoon and all I wanted was a slice of tiramisu. There was a lineup and after waiting almost 10 minutes the server said that's all there is and when I said well all I came in was for tiramisu, she just shrugged and shoulders and starting helping the next customer. There was no sorry we're out or any words spoken at all. I had heard so much about this place but I suppose the busier and more famous you get the less you care about customer service.

C C

been going there for a few years. Still love it.

Pinky Tuscodero

The velour cake was delicious. The Staff were wonderful. 10/ 10 would recommend!

Y K

I got rumour about this place so I was looking forward to buy Mont Blanc ( chestnuts cake) but they didn’t have ... sadly it’s available around November. So I bought a croissant , eclair n cheese cake. Croissant was great , buttery and flaky. Cheese cake was okish nothing special and it was yeah tasty. For eclair....its very rich n sweet n rich...sooo difficult to finish all. Little bit too sweet for my taste. Overall great place , price is high though but quality is there. But I won’t go often bc from my experience plus quite far from my house. I will stick my fav cake shop ( temper in w van) but on November I will revisit for my mont blanc for sure :)

Mahsa Kia

Best cakes, chocolate, and baked goods! Even if you don't live in Burnaby, it's worth a visit.

Oscar da Palma

The best French pastries in the city.

Leonard Chiu

Decent stuff but poor customer service

Tracy Seo

Love it. The girl who helped she was very nice and patient as I couldn't make up my mind what to buy lol. Thanks!

tarla carr

Amazing desserts , okay coffee

j BY

Nice and orderly inside and has a patio out front, choco's pretty good and they do have unique coffee flavor specials. Great place to pick up a gift, chill out n study

Stanley Wong

Great selection of small cakes and pastries.

Shora Ebrahimi

Cute little pastry shop and cafe. Gorgeous cakes and tarts.

Fenco Law

Tiramisu is so good

Wayne C

Very good cake and pastries but very pricy!

Davis Vaitkunas

We Love this place. Took my 12 year old son here today for croissants and cocoa..he says no more grocery store croissants for him... Lol

Justin

We've been coming to Chez Christophe for years, they are consistently amazing, full stop! Bought their cakes, mini chocolates, pastries, it's all ridiculously good!

Joyce Law

Love the smoke in the woods hot chocolate. Sadly that's only available for limited time. Great place for awesome croissants and service. Cashiers are always so friendly.

Wayne Jackson

White Rock location is excellent, 5 stars. Burnaby was a great disappointment. Seating is the worst layout I've ever seen even in these trying times. They couldn't warm my pastry which I find odd for a bakery Cafe. No wifi which is a serious limitation for any business person wanting to check in during a coffee break. I frequent coffee shops all over the lower mainland but I won't be back here WJ

Gurleen B

Chez Christophe is a cafe specializing in desserts, pastries and chocolate. It is an absolute gem in the Burnaby Heights Region and I wish badly a second location would open in the middle of Vancouver. The cakes are a must try. Everything is made in house in the morning from fresh ingredients, always from scratch. During the fall they release their Pumpkin Tart which I am obsessed with! You will defintiely want to try it!

Kaitlyn Korolyk

The items we got were decent, however they were out of quite a few things pretty early on in the day. Matcha latte was good.

Arsh Dhadwal

We do annual holiday gifts for our clients, and this year we decided to go with Chez Christophe for portions of our gifts, and it has been a fantastic experience. Working with Christophe and Cara has been a great, professional, and thorough experience. From the perspective of wholesale/corporate gifting, these guys have done a stellar job and knocked it out of the park. I would wholeheartedly recommend them. Professional, on-time, and the product is extremely high quality.

Amy G

Haven’t tried much here, but what we have tried has been delicious! I definitely recommend trying a slice of their hazelnut/cherry cake (I believe is called Gianduja Cerise). I got this the first time I went and got it every time since except for the most recent visit when I decided to expand my horizons. The staff has been friendly, and will get the drinks ready pretty quick. I’ve only gone on a Saturday and there’s always been a line, but they are very efficient. Just be aware it may take some time to get a table.

Greg Lui

Simply the best. Masterfully crafted pastries. Decadent to the extreme.

Wendy Choi

I absolutely love coming to Chez Christophe! It is definitely my favourite cafe in Vancouver. Even though I lived an hour away, what brings me back almost every weekend is their amazingly delicious hot chocolate. It is very rich and creamy, without being too sweet or overwhelming. The pastries are also to die for, with my favourite being Sunny's Matcha. The mousse here is just impeccable; it's very smooth and just melts in your mouth. Not to mention, the service is excellent and everyone is very friendly. I have moved to another city, but Chez Christophe is definitely one of the places I've missed the most.

Alan Zheng

I always enjoy coming here. If I ever want to get a great tasting cake for a good value I come here. They have a lot of pastry, chocolate and beverage assortments for you to choose from. The staff here are also very friendly. Overall a nice place to pick up some treats or to hang out at the front patio with a nice book and a cup of coffee.

Christian Meneses

Very nice place, good coffee & desserts

Michelle Chan

Is a nice environment and the cake are okay. I had the mango chocolate cake today and for that price I was hoping for a better sponge than I got. Also maybe a little bit of excessive packaging. I mean what's wrong with a box and strings? (stuff that are normally biodegradable)

Pooja R

Busy but nice. Cute french Bakery. The Pastry wasn't that great but we went in for the hot chocolate festival. The white chocolate lemon is highly recommended.

Jean Riou

The top in bakery and pastry.

Jay Bean

Very nice service in morning. Croissant with chocolate still warm. No lineup for coffee. Coffee could be bigger but nice taste.

home automation

Delicious unique desserts; several were extraordinary and rest were decent. Great coffee and amazing savory soups and dishes as well. Haven't tried the chocolates yet...

Jess Choi

Coffee and croissat is so good♡

Anjali Panchal

Very pretty pastries which taste as good as they look! A bit pricey for the size of the good. A nice place for a coffee date

vancourverite 777

DIGUSTING. What was once a really good bakery that I would rave and recommend to friends and colleagues is now never going to be praised anymore. I have ordered croissants and cakes in these last 2 years and each time I have found it to be really sweet. The tiramisu cake that I also got was way tooo sweet and it wasn't just me who found it!! There were 6 others who tried this cake and all said "OMG! its so sweet".. my question I ant to ask.. is the chef or whoever made the cake even tasted this before putting the cake together?? did you add like 10 cups of sugar?? The matcha croissant was also pretty gross too because it was too sweet. Hazelnut/chocolate was better because it balanced its flavor. I won't miss this place anymore.. the last 2 cakes I got from here were a huge disappointment. Last year I wanted to write a review but left it .. this year I have no choice but to leave a review because I don't think this bakery deserves strong accolades anymore if it has issues with quality control or the baker was idiot enough to pour a whole bag of white processed sugar into the desserts to kill their customers. For those that want to buy and invest a cake here for someone's birthday or special occasion.. I suggest you go somewhere else.

Jacqueline Wong

:) this place never disappoints!

Alan Ngo

Best pastry chef in town.

Kevin G.

Pastries excellent good coffee. A bit too pricey but I guess you get what you pay for.

totaleducation

One of best chocolate shops in the area!

Esther Park

(Translated) At the closing time, I ate a croissant, tiramisu cake, iced coffee and juice. The interiors were luxurious and the food was also satisfactory. I regret not having eaten the chocolate menu.

B. H.

I love this little place so much! They have the best selection of chocolates, desserts, jams and double baked croissants! Try their double baked chocolate-almond croissant with your morning coffee. It is mouthwatering. I also ordered a chocolate birthday cake and I couldn't be happier. It was so fresh and delicious! Staff is super friendly. What else could you ask for?

Giulia Giordani

I love start my day with a croissants and cappuccino and this is the only place where I can find the quality of my homeland (Italy) in Vancouver.

Helen Traverse

Awesome staff and great food

Wilson Polk

Terrific baked goods, try their croissant squares!

Mimi Hoang

cozy place to meet up with a friend or two over a cup of coffee or hot chocolate with desserts or pastry ^^

S CL

The double baked almond croissant was up there with one of the best I’ve ever had. Also had a mont blanc and a chocolate type pastry.. impressive in appearance and taste.

f era

The cakes are wonderful and the store is cute BUT if you do get something here, make sure to check your order before paying. I bought only a cake and they charge me for the cake and an imaginary iced latte. Unfortunately I didn't catch it until I was an hour away... Edit: I gave them a call and a few minutes later, they responded back and refunded me the amount over the phone. I definitely would come back here again even if I have to drive an hour!

Kat Gilliatt

Got the Boba cube today and it was worth the pre-order! Very buttery and flakey with it not being over powered on sweetness. The milk tea mousse was light! Overall delicious breakfast ????

Owen Huggon

This place offers lunch, pastries, cakes, hot drinks and of course chocolate! Everything here is always delicious but be prepared to pry open that piggy bank because it isn't cheap. I usually go here for special occasions but be warned if you're coming for Valentine's Day or something similar it will be busy and the chocolates will be picked over if you leave it to the last minute.

Abid Rehman

Very good Mocha. Decent hot chocolate. Decent croissant. Little bit overpriced. If it's on your way, worth a stop. Not good enough to deserve a special trip just to eat or drink here.

run25blue

Amazing Swiss style chocolate outside of Europe

J L

Top notch cakes and chocolates, it’s great to have a place like this nearby as it saves a trip out to Vancouver. Sunny’s Matcha cake is my favourite, and otherwise the bulk chocolate makes for a very nice mocha at home

이주석

Nice interior. Great presentation, good portion, but taste a ok but not good enough for what they charge. Coffee/latte taste watery. Snobby service, had better experience with service at Tim Hortons. Don't think, i will be back.

Jonathan Wong

Coffee is great and the pastry are delicious.

Joy A

Pastries are to die for!

Arthur Bounardjian

Very nice assortment of delicate French pastries and chocolates as well as macarons.

Neil Hawks

Great coffee pastries and chocolates on the pricey side.

Cindy N

best almond croissants!

D R

Amazing desserts and treats, but small selection, always seem to be running out of things. Be prepared to spend a good chunk of change.

Wendy Seto

Their survive was great. Because of social distancing the line up in was long They had someone come out and ask that people who re ordered did not have to wait. They brought our order out for us.

Richard Heyl de Ortiz

I will come back to Vancouver just for the hot chocolate.

Victor Ng

Very good pastry with prices to match. But they are not as expensive as some other pastries such as Thomas Hass but unit size is reflected comparatively. Better and bigger space. Both very good options in my opinion and they offer unique tasty treats to their own creations.

Angelica Buikema

Made a special trip on Feb 14th with my son to try their hot chocolate during the hot chocolate festival which was ending Feb 14th to be told they stopped participating on the 10th to prepare for Valentines day. Disappointed this wasn't posted on the festival/store website.

Joshua Bleppony

Great pastries! Calm atmosphere! Awesome service!

Jonathan Y

Nice.

Eddie Sullivan

Nice desserts

Julia Tee

Hi CC - I was disappointed in your lack of christmas cheer and community spirit today. I think you fill a great niche in the market and your baked goods are of high quality. However, if you aim to be a community business, it is kind to show some empathy, (esp to new Mums!) Your day manager was arrogant today and definitely not appreciated by loyal customers who have contributed to your success. Wish you well, but will not be coming again.

Amanda Nguyen

Their pastries here are amazing - double baked chocolate and hazelnut croissant was light and delicious.
