Pretty good bakery with a nice selection of classic Serbian pastries. They make good chocolate-banana rolls, but the dough for the cherry burek should be a little sweet, in my opinion. -- "Mimi's Cake Tour"

Cannot say enough about how yummy the desserts are. Good variety of foods and products from former Yugoslavia. The bread (pogaca) is excellent - they just don't make enough of it so you are usually SOL if you come in afternoons. Highly recommended for desserts and pastries.

Marco's burek is the best. My favorite is the Apple Burek, but call a few hours ahead so that they can make it and or bake it. I love watching him make the burek, it's a true skill. Best bakery in town. And now my favorite lunch spot. How do they make the sandwiches sooo good?? The sandwiches are quite large so unless you are very hungry you can easily split a sandwich between two people. Desserts are irrasistable!!! Great deli. I always get a loaf of bread and some deli meat to go after lunch. Prices very very reasonable.

As others have commented before, if you enjoy Balkan style products, sweets or burek this is the place to go! The burek flavour options are all fantastic and readily available. However, if you desire the potato flavour you need to pre-order it about an hour before you visit. The food is always fresh, hand made and delicious. The store is very clean, tidy and the staff is quite friendly. Keep up the great work!

Extremely rude service; was ignored for a good 10min while the woman working talked to and served two other people before us, while not even bothering to greet us and let us pay for our food. I don't care if your friends come in and you wanna chat with them, you are at work; serve the other customers in front of you first, and talk to your friends afterward. The sandwiches took a ridiculously long time to make, and the amount of vegetables on were rather pathetic considering I had a vegetarian sandwich, and the pesto wasn't even put on in the end. Never experienced such an unprofessional demeanor from any customer service staff in my life. Breads are decent but not worth the rude attitude or the long wait you're going to receive if you try to buy any. Nexxxxt!

Stumbled upon this place once and now I have to drive from Toronto for it ever since. The burek is amazing freshly made the old school way. The sweets are always made fresh and were unreal. Wish there were more places like this, unfortunately most bakery’s these days dnt actually make anything and just re sell stuff NOT this place! Hand made in the back with love. Highly recommend, 5/5. Food is good but the service was lacking. Missed an item on the order but didn't charge for it which was nice at least. Asked them to delay making a second take out order so it would still be warm when it got home...they made it right away so it was cold when it got home. Better service at the Oakville and Hamilton locations.

Fresh breads and buns, a delightful selection of cakes and pastries, and shelves full of specialty foods you won't find at the supermarket. A handful of small tables by the window make the place a lovey choice for enjoying your late morning coffee with a freshly baked slice of cake. You can usually find a vacant parking spot right by the door.

Best burek and gibanica I’ve ever bought. They don’t scrimp on the filling, like many of the bakeries I’ve been to. You can order ahead and have the the option of whether you want the party platter (gibanica) unbaked so you can do it at home and have that wonderful aroma! Cheese and meat burek are sold by the slice, so order ahead if you want spinach/cheese or another kind of filling. They have other products too from the Balkans, from smoked sausage to soft drinks to chocolates and laundry detergent — it’s well worth a visit. I go there often and it’s excellent! And to the reviewer below who says the meat burek is too greasy ... it’s supposed to be that way! That’s how they make it in the Balkans. But for those who don’t like it, you can buy a slice of cheese burek or order a whole one with a different filling.

Found this gem after a google search, looking for something different for lunch. I discovered several mentions of burek which I had never heard of. So I googled it and it sounded really good and similar to something I have had many times called a pastizzi, which is a Maltese delicacy. So my son and I tried the burek for the first time today from Marco’s. We shared a cheese and a meat. They were both delicious and my son agreed it is much like a pastizzi, only bigger and more filling. And similar to spanakopita in Greek cuisine. Marco’s is a cozy little bakery with lots of other baked goodies. We tried a few and they were delicious as well. The prices are also extremely reasonable. We had a plentiful lunch with dessert for about $16, and we had an extra item that we could not finish. And you can tell that everything here is made from scratch with care and fresh ingredients. I would highly recommend this bakery and plan to return. Please support our local businesses during this difficult time.

I am yet to visit and i guve you 5 stars bc its been a long time coming for a spot like this here in Burlington... but looking at that picture of the burek I ask myself where is the meat??? If you do not want to be a fly by night “Prcvarnica”. Please put the damn meat in the burek. Charge more if you have to but know that no one is interested in eating the “Tjesto”. Meat, cheese whatever, put it in there!!

Great bakery offering Macedonian food. For son long was only having the burek because it was so delicious and filling and only $5! Definitely a great inexpensive lunch option :) However recently although a bit more expensive $6-7 have been trying the sandwiches and they are hearty and filling. Definitely try their take on a BLT with mayo, cream cheese and in a pita - its pleasantly wonderful.

I'm new to this bakery but will go back again and again for their tasty rustic loaf. That's all I've tried so far but spied all the other delicious bakery items so I'm sure I'll be buying other yummies. The two ladies who served me were so friendly. It was lovely to see the staff chatting to the customers. I love that! It feels like you're in somebody's home. So friendly. Sad to see another reviewer giving one star because they were chatting. It's something lacking in so many stores... that warm, friendly atmosphere. Thank you ladies. I'll be back every week from now on.
