REVIEWS OF Purebread IN British Columbia

La Lalena (Lalena)

No matter what I get at Purebread, it is good. I have no idea how they always have such a great selection till closing while still maintaining such fantastic quality. You can smell the real butter used in the baked goods as soon as you walk in. I always hear the same thing when I am there, "So much selection I can't decide". I have tried the chocolate caramel cake, crack bar, omg's, caramel apple tart, cheesecake brownie, apple blondie, butter tarts, coconute cake, humming bird cake, salted caramel chocolate bars and it never disappoints. Always tastes fresh baked. One day I should actually try the bread. Butter people... not palm oil. Like Granmother use to do.

Lily Smyth

Massive assortment of baked goods! The display case is a treat for the eyes. The quality was exceptional and the staff were patient (it can take a while to choose due to the vast selection!), helpful and so friendly. My family ordered the mocha brownie, chocolate peanut butter loaf, chocolate peanut butter cookie, apple and toffee tart and a spinach and feta muffin. They were all fantastic, full of flavor and well-made.

Alexis Shahriar Assadi

Their staff are friendly and prices are reasonable. I’ve only ever eaten 1 item from their store: the Ooey Gooey Chocolate Brownie, but that’s because it’s so delicious that I don’t want to try anything else. I go there weekly!

Stephanie Mulder

One of the best bakeries in the city! I bring all of my friends that come to visit there and they always message me later to tell me they miss whatever they bought. I always recommend the caramelized banana brownie!

Francesca Flores

First discovered them thru the Ladner Farmer's Market. Myy gosh are their pastries ever so delicious! My absolute favorite is the apricot rosemary danish. Anything salted caramel from them is also amazing. Want to try more of the variety of loafs next time. SO DELICIOUS AND FRESH!

John van Bockxmeer

Yummo this place is so delicious it is dangerous! Almost all the options taste amazing, the flourless chocolate cake and chocolate raspberry brownies are my favourite. You can order a whole cake for around $50 and they have some quiet seating arrangements also. Great to escape the rain, coffee isn't bad either. #chocolatecake #bakedgoods

Yasmina Remmal

Good bakery with a great variety of sweets and breads. A bit (a lot) too sweet for me but good overall. Their lemon raspberry bar is really yum ????!

Andrea CC

I'm so glad I could find it in Vancouver , I thought they have only one location in Whistler. Love this cozy bakery shop, staff friendly and yummy pastries.

Karen Chong

My friend insisted we stop in because she knew I would love it. She was right! Let me see...I can't even remember what we ordered. There was just so much variety to choose from - sweet, savoury, heavy, light, it just all looked so good! The best that I can describe beside saying the taste and how the scone scrumbled just so....well, you know that friend you have that brings you baked goods? You know, uses good ingredients, never skimps, like when she says there's cheese and spinach, you see it all the way through the (insert whatever savoury pastry you want here) - well, that's Purebreads! I'm always a sucker for just some good bread - the loaf I bought my mom lasted a couple of days fresh before I had to reheat and put in the fridge....did I mention I just left it out in a paperbag? Ooops. Anyway, if you're in the area, I say a must-stop - have it for breakfast or save it for later. The downside? You guys haven't expanded YET to Toronto...please, come. I welcome you with open arms!

Jerusha Chua

A huge variety of pastries, cake, cookies, and other treats! They change up every week and I get to choose something new each time :-) This place does get busy during peak hours, so it will be difficult to find a place to sit. Keep that in mind if you're just looking for a quiet cafe to chill.

Celeste Liberty

The Crack Bar is the devil himself--pure evil but sinfully delicious. There are so many options, but alas! I only have 1 mouth and 1 stomach. All 4 pastries (savory and sweet) that I got were amazing! Will definitely be back on my next trip up from Seattle.

Constance Barnes

It's eye candy to just stand at the gorgeous long glass window and gaze at the beautiful display!!! Even better when you eat all the savory and sweet goodies!!! The staff are truly upbeat and helpful! Love love love this place. P.S. I work down the street at the Overdose Prevention Site so even if I'm looking down and haggard I am treated with respect and no judgement! Awesome break in a day of saving lives!

Ivana Bozickovic

A very cute bakery with lots of savory and sweet options. The ham, cheese, spinach and tomato brioche was very soft and full of flavor!

Celina Wright

Excellent food! Purebread sells some of the best baked goods that I've ever had. ????

Ran Dio

So many different and delicious pastries. Once you walk in the door, you can smell the deliciousness aroma. The workers are really nice. Even though itay seem like there's a long line, it goes by really quickly. This a a great spot for food and coffee

Huey Duong

Crazy cornucopia of bread and pastries on display. The smell when u walk in makes you salivate. First time here, will definately come back for more. Toastie with bacon jam is amazing. Coffee selection is adequate.

Chad Ostroff (lingokid)

This place is amazing. The pastries are incredible. I'm so glad I found this spot when I was doing research for our trip to Vancouver.

Gregory Campbell

If you're searching for a quality bakery that focuses on sweet and savoury treats, you don't have to look much further than Purebread. Try my favourite, the Morning Glory - a brioche ball covered in cinnamon sugar and filled with cream. Otherwise there is a wide variety of great options to indulge your cravings from the surprisingly fudgy Flourless Brownie to the satisfying Breakfast Brioche.

ShotMate Events

PureBread Fresh and full of amazing options that your propensity of hunger gets real high to try most of the options. That hot chocolate in cold winter morning made my visit to Vancouver really top notch. Definitely visit this spot, you will be welcomed by friendly staff and you will find yourself in fresh super awesome bakery.

Vash Fanatic

I am visiting from the US. I was craving cake and looked into many different bakeries near Gastown. I stumbled upon Purebread and read the reviews...so I had to go in. There was a bit of a line, but it was handled quickly! It was difficult to decide on what to get. I bought the peanut butter cake and my fiance got one of the brownies. Honestly, I'm sad to go home because I have never tasted such a fantastic peanut butter cake! My fiance isn't too into sweets, but he's obsessing over the brownie. Absolutely love this bakery! 5/5 would recommend for any visitor and local!

Garrett Brett

Some obsecenly good eats. Perfect for a quick breakfast, brunch, glorious dinner loaf with soup or stew or even a decadent dessert of the highest caliber. Definitely worth a visit, or two... or maybe 3, per day

Masha Miller

I'm 4 months behind on posting this, but still I wanted to say that this bakery is amazing! The workers are super nice and let me take pictures of the place with my camera. Also, the food is delicious. This bakery has not only a wide variety of food to choose from, but they are all so good. I tried to sample everything I've ordered and they were all fantastic. I highly recommended this place if your in Vancouver , BC.

Bob Lee

Visiting from Kirkland, WA and came here at the recommendation of cousin who's local. OMG, the selections are amazing! They had five or six different kind of scones (lavender earl grey!) and so many other tasty treats. Will need to come back and take back at least a dozen of their offerings.

Sarah Ellis

THE BEST BAKERY IN VANCOUVER! They make some pretty incredible baked goods here and it always takes me a few minutes to decide what to get because there are SO MANY OPTIONS! Definitely check this place out!

Lara Reichman

So many (too many?) options. Everything we got was delicious - the quiche was even still warm! Prices were reasonable and the person who served me was patient while I tried to decide on what to get. The morning glory is the best!!

Angelia Margaretha

Those are so many mouthwatering selections you can choose from. It’s impossible for you to just pick one because everything looks and tasted delicious. The staff were so nice!

Sasha M

Amazing looking and tasting treats! There is also a generous amount of seating. I definitely appreciated their gluten free options.

Eva Lin

tasted amazing even when i forgot that i got a brownie in my bag! i ate it a day later after a night out of fun and it was still moist. i also got other stuff but i forgot. the brownie was more memorable. they also have a flourless version which im intrigued to try!

Hannah De Jong

This bakery is my favourite in Vancouver, hands down. Just looking at the display is like being in baked goods heaven. Be aware that you won’t be able to eat anything in here if you have a nut allergy or are celiac. The baked goods are top notch - I love the scones. The bread is very fresh as well.

Aurelia Paula M

One of my favorite cafes to pop by when I visit DT area. It always gives me a hard time choosing what to eat because all of their pastries are amazingly attractive! The portion is pretty big and hard to finish by myself. Don't forget to ask for a doggy bag!

Paisley D

Heaven on earth. Well, except that it is torture deciding what to leave with. At least when you know you can't carry everything in their display home with you. There is a reason they've become so popular. Delicious and inventive baked goods cover their counters. And the bread! Beautiful !!

Fran JV

Nice atmosphere and great products. The look of their products is really good.

George Giannou

This is one of the best pastry/bakery shops I have ever been to. All their stuff is great, the blueberry scone, salter caramel peanut butter bar and cream stuffed cinammon puff are among the favorites. Coffee isn't fantastic, and thats forgivable considering its not the first purpose of the place. I always come here when visiting Vancouver ????

Amei-lee Jannelle

I L O V E Purebread. It’s so delicious! I’ve been to two different locations and everything is consistent. Their herb and garlic bread was a little oily but that’s nothing. Would highly recommend

Lanei L

I used to come to this place often as I lived in the area. However after a few times buying the scones. I ate a scone that was unbaked in the middle. This has put me off as i think they mass produce their products since they open their stores. Their baked goods were much better when they were in the farmer's market. I think there's other bakeries in the area that doesn't pour heaps of sugar into their products. In addition, the wait in the queue is not so organized..the staff doesn't know who take first in line.

Rhiannon Wallace

Stopped by on my birthday for some breakfast rather than settling for Tims which was much closer to our hotel. I had the peach passion fruit scone and it was seriously the best scone I’ve ever had. It was also very filling so great for breakfast.

Eran Breiman

Great place with lots of sweet pastries! I wanted to have all of them but the eyes eat more than the mouth... I had the raspberry cheese brownie which was very rich and the blueberry muffin with lemon topping. The topping was a bit too sweet.

Onur Kurtiç

Great place for delicious treats. Too many options to choose from!

Serena Inman

The selection of baked deliciousness is huge and almost overwhelming. Coming in here at a dead time on your first time is a must so you can get an understanding of what they make to not hold up people when the lines get huge. Coffee is meh, and the prices are a bit pricier (which is expected as this is downtown), but definitely worth a visit, especially for a piece of carrot cake.

Belinda Jin

Purebread is located on West Hasting St., which nearby SFU Downtown Resident Building. My friend lived across the street from the Store and her highly recommend the PureBread to me all the time. Finally, I got a chance to go there and have little snacks with her. The food there were great. The bread and desserts were fresh and delicious. They were very tasty and well designed. There were lots options for customers to pick.

Walker

This place makes astounding pastries. There is a huge, glorious, selection of interesting sweet to tickle your fancy. The staff are really friendly and can direct you to something that you'll love (and honestly you'll love all the offerings here).

A J

One of my favorite pastry spots. Must tries: Chocolate Truffle cake (best chocolate cake I've ever had). Creme brulee sugar bun and raspberry rubarb sugar bun.????

Mirca Lotz

Great selection of tasty cakes and other baked goods

Emma Prophet

This place is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended. Every single item I've tried is delicious. Gigantic variety, including amazing breads and every kind of pastry. Can't recommend this place more. Great staff too.

Nicole Zhu

Hands down one of the best bakeries in town. Tried their raspberry riot bread, savory muffin, OMG, pizzarette, salted caramel brownie and peach tarte. All of them are pretty good. Prompt service is a bonus.

Catherine Wang

Beautiful & inviting display of baked goodies. The selections are amazing, very difficult to decide what to get. Had the butter tart. It was little heavy but the fillings were wonderful. Will certainly go back to try different things.

Abishek C

Must visit place in Vancouver. I took almost 10 mins to decide what to eat as there are so many delicious options...treat to my eyes to see so many pastries and cookies and much more...had to check out all the items twice to get to a decision for that morning. Don't miss out while you at Vancouver...no words to describe...this was without a doubt one of the best bakery I’ve ever had the privilege of experiencing. I’d certainly visit again.

Gabriela Pawlowski

I've been a huge fan of Pure Bread since they were a small shop in Whistler's function junction. Today, they are just as amazing as before with an added wide array of delicious treats!! My favorite are the pudgie pie, breakfast brioshe, and drink apple cake. And well everything they make!!

Kyle Li

Love their COVID procedures (counter at the door so no customers can enter) Big and very pretty selection of baked goods. Tried the crack bar, which was good. But generally I feel that things are very overpriced.

Matthew Daszkiewicz

A wholesome variety of pastries of different kinds and it was great. You can get tea or coffee as well. Seating can be tight if you visit during the busiest time but the experience was worth it.

JaRee Smith

You MUST visit this bakery! Everything I’ve tried here is delicious! The desserts are moist & flavorful! I’ve had the lemon basil blueberry scone, ooey gooey bar, and the peach rosemary tart.

Ryan Herath

Wow! What a display of magnificent pastries, puffs, quiche, and breads. My family was in pure overload. They have an item called the crack bar (flaky pecan pie pastry bar). My teens devoured them. My quiche and lemon blueberry pastry were both excellent. The place was packed but the lined moved quick. These ladies must bake all night to put out a spread this large and varied.

shiva ghorbani

Base on the picture and description I walked there to get a birthday cake which I couldn’t find any suitable for birthday. But the place had nice bread and pies which looked nice and delicious to me. But if you are looking for a birthday cake that is not a place to go. Thx

Grayson Beaudin

Great place! The bald man behind the counter was amazing. He was kind, helpful and ALL SMILES! ???? I recommend the Spinach Feta Muffin and the Cinnamon Cream Bun. So good. ????

Eric Kai

Lots of varieties. Baked goods can be a little stale at times but has good flavor.

Jordan Strilaiff

Holy wow this place is amazing. Their Lemon Blueberry Basil scone absolutely made my morning, and the ambience provided by all the great baked goods is very relaxing. The staff were super friendly and the teas and coffees were great.

L. M.

I love this bakery, everything is well made and delicious. The breakfast brioche is my morning fav.

Gillian Joseph

Small cozy place with endless baked goods. Breads, brownies, cakes pies etc it's amazing all around. Be prepared to stand in a bit of a line, but take your time to look over everything cuz there's so much! I will definitely be back. The prices r right and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Dexter Cole Anderson

The staff here are always super friendly and amazing! I always leave this location with a big grin on my face and a full tummy. You can really tell the love that goes into each pastrie!

Michael Campbell

The quality and quantity of baked goods and breakfast options here is unmatched. Everything was delicious. Small space that can get busy but pretty awesome overall. Good coffee too and friendly staff.

Catarina Fattori

This place is absolutely insane! I have never seen such an amazing selection of sweet and savoury pastries that tasted as good as they looked. We had to go there everyday for breakfast as you cant just pick one thing, you have to have everything! The staff is incredibly friendly and patient too.

J Dh

Godly experience. Too many sexy pastries to choose from. Dreamt of buttermilk cake slices for months. Coffee/caffeine choices are basic but good. A drink goes well with a bite.

Ashley Viens

This place is DANGEROUSLY delicious. And what makes it next-level awesome are the staff who greet you like you matter, and like they're having a blast behind the counter. Consistent quality no matter which Purebread location you go to....keep it up!

Tamara Malisich

Extremely kind people work here! Food is delicious and hard to pick what to take. So take some for to go, because it's so yummy!

Grace Gwendolyn Henry

Spectacular. Biggest meringues I've ever seen, and perfectly done. Others in our party said their pastries were likewise delicious. I'd like to just browse the case for a few hours.....what a great place!

Edgar

We walked by Purebread one day during our visit to Vancouver; and, the looks and the smells of the freshly baked goods were so irresistible that, the next morning we came back earlier before a day trip, and we got a box full of sweet and savory treats. Long story short, the portions were very nice and every single bite was delicious. The staff was so friendly and patiently helped us out by answering our questions and describing the goods and ingredients.

Stephanie Ribeiro

PureBread equals Pure Love ❤ My husband and I go here every Saturday and we are in love with this bakery. They have put the time and energy into making great product!! Yum! ???? Pictures below: Drunken Apple, Spinach & Potato pie and Bacon & Egg brioche.

John Moore

Their Drunken Apple Blondie ???? , plus coffee? Winning combo right there ???????? If you're feeling up for something more decadent, their Fudge Brownies with Raspberry Cheesecake filling makes you guilty - in the best way possible - every bite.

Martin KO

The bacon and egg brioche is to die for! I love this place. The Australian servers can be a bit clueless and disorganized at times when it’s busy, but otherwise it’s always delicious stuff served up! definitely a must try.

Jasmine Kim

The moment I entered this place it smelled like a pastry heaven. The display was absolutely gorgeous and soooo appetizing. I typically don't shop for baked goods, especially when I'm already full from a meal, but you simply cannot resist the temptation when you enter purebread. They have a great selection and the people there are very friendly, patient, and welcoming. Space is quite small but I usually take my baked goods to go. Whenever friends or family come visit Vancouver and wander around the downtown area, I recommend them purebread because it's just that good.

Mark Olsson

Amazing bakery in the heart of downtown. My girlfriend and I were thrilled to find this place. They make very tasty sweets and their savoury options are great as well. Sandwiches are excellent they’ve got a few tables if you want to sit for a bit. We’ve been a few times now and have yet to order anything we didn’t like.

Ellen Wong

Such a tantalizing display of sweet and savoury baked goodies. What I like is that they have a lot of unique flavour combinations that you don’t see elsewhere. Right now you can’t walk into the store — they serve you at the door. Price is alright too. Would love to make more visits.

Bjorn W

Great selection of tasty bakery treats, both sweet and savory. The prices are a bit steep but it is worth it, everything I have ever eaten from here has been delicious.

Shanda L

Great little spot for a treat, the smell in this place is intoxicating! I had the banana bread. Seriously amazing! They have a few vegan options. The place is cute, friendly staff and everything is so fresh.

Denyse Hamilton

One of my fave places. I'm not all about gluten-free desserts but this place is so delicious. They bake fresh daily and always have a nice variety of treats. Salted Caramel Whoopie cookies is what I always order when it is available. Yum.

Sarah Bedrosian

was really excited to try this place but it just didn’t hit the spot for me. I finished the bread and it was ok - the blondie wasn’t good at all I didn’t even finish it.

Zita K.

I was stunned by the range of goodness they have to offer! Wanted to try it all. Cakes of all kind, scones, cookies and savory options! Very happy and kind people around to explain and give recommendations. I ended up with a delicious "buckwheat sour-cherry" scone. Will definitely come back. A must in Vancouver.

Alex Kwok

Purebred is one of my favorite bakery in Vancouver. Lots to offer. Amazing local bakery that always goes above and beyond expectations. Everything they sell is unique in style and flavors- and tastes wonderful. Thank you.

Julie Prasad

I feel like they should rename this store to "Pure Joy" hahaha..it's blissful..everything is so delicious and made with love. Thank you for being my local bakery xoxo

B K

Love the food here! Great baking, both vegan and regular! Would love to see something just dairy free, for those who love eggs in their baking still. Will be back!

Tej Chajed

The hot chocolate here is absolutely amazing. It's pure dark chocolate melted down, with steamed milk. We also had a jalapeño cheddar scone and a tomato and pesto muffin, which were also incredibly good. The bread was ironically not as good as the savory baked goods, but I'd come back just for the hot chocolate.

Nestor Balce

Probably the best bakery in Vancouver. Worth the trip. I really love the feta muffin, it's the perfect breakfast for me. A little pricey because of the high quality in every product. They don't scrimp around!!!

TF ou

The staffs are friendly. The muffin is really good????

Rachael C (MsRachieboo)

If you love bread and cakes, this is HEAVEN for you. You must come here but be warn, you might end up eating more than ever before....luckily for me I had good self-control today.

Carolin K

Just DELICIOUS. Everything was amazing and I for sure will come back. Staff was super nice too ???? Picture Top left chocolate raspberry Top right peacan, caramel (not 100% sure) Bottom left chocolate, coconut Bottom right salted caramal cookie (not 100% sure but favorite)

Brad Sharpe

This is one of the best bakeries I have ever been to. The Buttermilk Coconut Cake is rich without being heavy. The Lemon Sugar Bun is light with and soft with a wonderfully balanced lemon filling. The Butter Tart has a great flaky crust and a delicious filling with raisins. Finally the Ooey Gooey Chocolate Bar is a masterpiece combination of chocolate chip cookies and carmel brownies. I will be back to sample as many of their gastronomical delights as I can.

Ryan Harmer

Lots of yummy sweet and savory treats to choose. Coffee is average.

Maryam R

heaven for bread and all sort of patisserie lovers. Try Rasberry cheese cake here, It's delicious

Gypsy Scribbler

Pros: lots of choices, nice ambiance, friendly staff, very good apple blondies. Cons: really hard to choose - everything looks so good.

Amy Man

Quick lunch with non flour chocolate cake and hot coffee. It's very chocolate-y and bigger than my plan at $8-. Coffee bean is quite bitter and server said it's free to refill...

Arun & Jayati Singh

What a treat this place is. The choices are mind boggling. They have vegan options and plenty of seating. Sip a hot coffee and have their quiches of endless variety or a scone or sandwich. Mouth watering delights that are sweet and savory, excellent service. A vibe that you never want to miss. Settle down and relax, breathe and enjoy. A visit here should be on your list.

Jessica Evans

Anyone who gives this place less than 5 stars is probably sad about a butter or gluten allergy. Don't go here if you're on a diet. Everything is amazing, savoury, sweet or just traditional bread!!

Krystal Tie-So

My go-to-place especially when I am in the area. You can definitely smell the amazing food when you walk through the door. Their delicious handmade baked food is always fresh and they have a wide variety of yummy food. A must to go and try this bakery.

Ryan Spotowski

Purebread came recommended to me by a family member and I wasn't disappointed. There is a huge selection of pastries and baked goods. I'm limited in what I can try due to a nut allergy, but I found a delicious brioche bun. If you are concerned with "may contain nuts", it might not be a good place for you. All of the baked goods are stored in the same case and the same tongs are used for all goods. But if you're willing to risk an allergy attack, the food is delicious. The restaurant is busy and there can be times where it's tough to find a seat. The nearby park is nice, but it didn't appear safe and it was a chilly morning. Arrive early, order a some pastries and a coffee and sit to people watch from the front windows.

Jessie Somers

Amazing variety of freshly baked treats, too many to choose from! I highly recommend!

Natasha Fairweather

The bakery I've been looking for my whole life. Everything is exciting and innovative and, if this is even possible, tastes better than it looks. Service is quick and friendly. A gem.

Steven Robineau

It kills me to have to change my review. When I lived in Vancouver I came here every week and loved it. On a recent trip I came by and found things have completely changed. It’s clear that they’ve been completely unable to adapt to covid. The quality has decreased, serving out the front door is a chaotic disaster, and they’re only open 3 days a week. Two stars because the food and coffee are still pretty good and because I’m nostalgic for the place this used to be. If you’re going to go be sure to check the new limited hours first.

Minyoung Jung

The best lemon blueberry basil scone I’ve ever had. All bread is tasty but the scone is definitely the best.

Golie Masoumian

One of the best bakeries in town! We went at 11:00am and had so many options for sweet and savoury treats which were all freshly baked. The staff were extremely friendly and were very accommodating. Recommend going early because there is only certain quantities of each item.

soojin joo

My favourite go to place for pastry. Staffs are all nice and accommodating. Best ones so far for me are almond croissant and apple tart. Gotta try more!

Kerry Wilkinson

Aside from the fact the small cafe area can get a bit busy, bakeries don't get better than this. A fantastic selection of cakes and pastries, with many vegan options if that's your thing. As good as it gets.

Joyeeats. ca

One of my favourite coffee shop in Vancouver, and they have several locations in Vancouver. I always stop by for their Buckwheat Sour Cherry Scones if I'm in the area. Price: $ Taste: ???????????????????? atmosphere: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ seating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Price Performance ratio: 4.8/ 5

Jacqueline Mak

Given with so many delicious options to choose from pure bread and we all know I’m super indecisive - mainly because I want a bite of everything! Then of course I had to ask the lady at the counter for her recommendation and she suggested the Peach & Rosemary Tart as it was the last one! I think I might be a little obsessed with it! Highly recommended! Cheers! @EATWITHJACQ

Eric B

The white chocolate scone was fantastic. Highly reccomened. The only problem here is making a decision on what to buy, as their selection of fresh baked goods is incredible!

Lyndell Skews

The choices of yummy sweet and savoury items here are outstanding in both presentation and taste. Always busy with warm friendly staff assisting the continuous flow of customers. Eat in or take it to go. You'll have to return over and over again as the choices are abundant. Usually go home with too many things. I want try everything. Of course I'll be back.

Nelson Mah

Best bakery in Vancouver. Pickup only during pandemic. Limited selection currently due to pandemic. Food tastes great for breakfast or desserts. Service was good too. Definitely recommend

Amani Kafeety

Fantastic selections of desserts...so much to choose from. Recently tried their carrot cake after several visits of finding out their all sold out. It did not disappoint!

Tallitha Campos

One of my favorite places in Vancouver.

Cameron Lowell

TONS of baked goods, holy smokes. Probably somewhere in the range of 40-50 different items. The line gets long and the seating is pretty limited so you may be waiting. I found all of our treats to be pretty good, however none of them really blew my mind. The dough was often a little too tough when I was expecting a little more airy or crispy. We did go in the afternoon so maybe that's why? All in all a nice stop though, thanks!

Allycia McPherson

Purebread is probably one of my favourite bakeries in the city. The baked goods have been excellent every time I've been. The staff are very kind and attentive as well. One of my personal favourite things to order is the chocolate chip cookie bar (ask for it to be heated slightly, or take it home and heat it up for a bit yourself, it's seriously amazing!)

Lisa Clist

I had a chocolate almond croissant. It was dry but okay. Putting this review because all the 5 star reviews led me to have much higher expectations. Nabbed the last available table.

Wladimir Gramacho

Sophisticated sweets... We bought four different pastries and all of them were just great! Some salt here, some fruit there, and the exact amount of sweetness to bring harmony every bite.

Rebecca Koepke

Always love this place. We actually just ordered some cakes for our wedding and they were perfect! Even gave us extra icing. Our favourite is the coconut cake which is what we got. :)

Chun Guo

Nice coffee and amazing bakeries available.

Bho

First off, I LOVE Purebread and especially the Ooey Gooey Chocolate Chip bars and the salted Chocolate chip cookies. I recently bought 2 whole cakes for birthdays. The Devil's Food Chocolate cake was just okay. The icing was good but the actual cake part was a bit dry. I left it out of the fridge longer the next day to get the cake to room temperature and that helped a bit. So, kind of a meh to that cake. Very good flavour but a bit dry. The other one I got, a carrot cake, was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! Truly the best carrot cake I have ever had. I think everyone had a second piece. I will definitely get more cakes from Purebread and look forward to trying different flavours... and more treats!

Andrea Murphy

I bought a mocha, a loaf of the sourdough bread, a margarita grilled cheese, and a caramel apple pie while I was there and I can’t say I was disappointed with any of it! The caramel apple pie was absolutely amazing and I would definitely make a trip back there just for that!

Keith Liu

Purebread has some amazing pastries and some great lattes.

Stacy Johnston

As soon as you walk into this cozy, bright cafe you're bombarded with the most delicious smell that certainly lives up to the cafe name. Pure bread. Their vast, eye catching pastry window is unrivaled in Vancouver and stocked FULL of every delicious confection you could think of! (and a few you couldn't). Their Toastee's were huge and plenty to share and their coffee was simply delicious. The cute, cozy interior definitely invites you to stay and enjoy looking at every other thoughtful touch in their space. Definitely recommend a window seat for an afternoon spent dreaming...also their coconut buttermilk cake is a must!

James R.C. Smith

This has to be the most sumptuous, decadent place in the city. There are pastries upon cakes upon cookies, hidden among scones. It's incredible and they ALL taste great. Good luck making a decision!

Ryan Fay

Great place for some dessert after eating at Jam or a local breakfast spot. Pro tip: try the ooey gooey chocolate chip cookie and the creme brulee!

Sara Pedlow

Decadent and delicious. We always used to make a point of stopping in Purebread during our Whistler trips and are so excited now that they've got a Vancouver location. I've never had anything I don't like here. Some of our favourites are the jalapeno cheddar scone, the salted caramel bar, the crack bar... the list goes on and on. Those are just the things I purchased at our last trip. The Vancouver spot is not really a place to linger if you have a stroller. It is more of a grab-and-go location. They have a wide variety of different types of desserts and pastries and bread, so it's a great place if you're trying to please a group with different tastes.

Andrew Martonik

Fantastic French-style bakery. Light breakfast options aplenty, plus pastries, full loafs of bread, sweet treats and excellent coffee. The vibe was great and the staff were exceptional. Prices are a bit higher than your standard coffee shop, but it's absolutely worth it.

Jeannie Chang

Delicious baked goods. Anything with Nutella is fabulous. Staff is nice and attentive. Love this place when visiting Canada.

Ann Cardus

The food available looks amazing. I had the cheese and jalapeño scone and it was delicious. Great fresh environment and friendly staff too. Can't recommend enough for baked goods.

Meghan Danyluk

Purebread is so tasty! I first learned about this place through their tent at the Ladner Village Market, where they have incredible lineups virtually every minute of the market - and for good reason. Their scones, croissants, breads, cakes... everything I’ve had there is TO DIE FOR! I’m especially fond of the vegetarian sausage rolls and Lavender Earl Grey Scones. If I had to make one criticism of the store it would be that the food is a little bit on the pricey side, but with that being said you can tell that the ingredients are quality and you’ll never be disappointed.

F. Dini

This is dessert heaven! Everyday they have a new option of a delicious treat. Extra points for all the amazing vegan options (specially the chocolate chip scone).

Ni No Kitty

I have gone to heaven. I tried the pecan chocolate bar, spinach feta brioche, and the pecan sticky bun. They are all winners, but the sticky bun was my fave. Bonus: helpful, friendly employees! My only mini complaint is the drip coffee is a wee bit acidic for my taste.

Dorrinda Carlson

Extraordinary delights stacked 2' deep high and low captivate all senses. The only looping thought when viewing, deciding & deliberating: "which one, which one, which one???" Although I usually try a base pastry (almond croissant) to measure any bakery ;), I opted for something quite unique this time: Peach Rosemary galette. Every single bite was delicious! Not just the 1st 3 bites, but every single one. While hubby & I snacked and chatted, the 80s music had me grooving in my chair. Luckily I was at a high table near the back where hopefully I didn't distract many. Highly recommended spot to dazzle on all fronts.

Bruce McQuillen

This is one of the best bakeries I’ve been to. Great selection and everything tasted great. Next time I’m in Vancouver, will definitely return.

Hadi's Entertainment

Strongly recommend this place at least for one time, however it is about pricey but it is really worth it, specially brownies.almond crossiant, bacon and cheese. I ordered macchiato that was really reach for me and too bitter for me. It is a good place e for breakfast,

Quentin F

Wonderful bakery offering delicious breakfasts. Staff is friendly. Special mention to the savory scones, which are simply divine.

Margaret Dorsey

My favorite bakery in Vancouver, the veggie sausage roll is amazing, the pastries are great, and this is my preferred place to buy bread for the week :)

Johanna Solomon

Stopped by for a quick breakfast treat and these baked goods were so good! Super fresh, soft , flavourful and moist! I really enjoyed it. We got the brioche, scone, croissant and the cornbread. Only available for takeout but very fast and efficient.

JB Bell

Nicely laid out for a small location. It looks like a nice café, except instead of three or four kinds of pastries, there are mountains of baked goods. I was served quickly in spite of a good-sized lineup. Got the bacon, cheddar, sour cream, and chive scones, which are hands down the best savoury scones I have ever had.

Ginelle F

Love love love! They have SO many treats it was hard to pick one. I had the nutella brioche and it was amazing. Lovely atmosphere and great staff. Will definitely be back to try the rest :)

Troy Gonsalves

Beautiful decor, food display and smell. Baked goods were fresh and delicious, staff were friendly.

Mohammad Alharbi

So many tasty choices I just picked this .. so delicious ..

mama sio

The place for pastries in Vancouver. There's even a lot of vegan and gluten free options. Not a bad place to set up your laptop and do some work if you're into that sort of thing. Just not many spots/outlets for that. I like the butter tarts.

Steph B.

I'm always excited when I get to Purebred - They have so many options! But I've been there 4 times now to try different things and always leave feeling disappointed... Very dry baked goods and extra bitter coffee just doesn't cut it for their price range.

Vince Murray

If you want a delicious variety of bakery goods, this is your place. Buttery soft croissants, delicious baked bread other fantastic treats, and great coffee!

Candy Wang

My daughter and I were drawn in by their great selection of pastries and loaves, with flourless and gluten-free options. We ordered a flourless chocolate chip cookie, and a salted caramel cookie, both were too sweet for my liking. Would come back again and try their savoury dishes.

Fady Baky

I don't think I've ever been to a bakery with as wide and unique a selection that manages to execute at such a high level on everything they make. Each day they seem to have half a dozen new savory and sweet items and I was never disappointed. Definitely worth a visit (each day).

Ulad Shauchenka

Awesome pastries, with a variety of tastes and shapes. Currently working for take out only buy you can grab a coffee in any nearby coffee shop.

David Beilis

Great breakfast surprise for us when visiting Vancouver on the way to the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen garden. High quality pastries and strawberry ???? lemonade. We enjoyed it very much. The hostess was very friendly and it was a pleasure shopping there.

franz

The choco chip cookies with rosemary are an intriguing treat.... And one will not be enough....

Sheida

Every single person has to try purebred! It simply does not get any better than here. The baked goods are to die for, you'll always be overwhelmed with how amazing EVERYTHING looks that you'll never be certain what you should get, which is a great problem to have. The coffee is great but the pastries are simply outstanding. I do wish they had more seats that were slightly more comfy but everything else is so great, I would highly recommend to anyone considering!

Krista Spurr

Go hungry, eat everything. Purebread was recommended to me for breakfast pastries and coffee, and it exceeded all expectations.

Shih-Kai Wang

Awesome place to chill at..... fantastic desserts and snacks

FT

This is my favourite bakery. It's always such a treat to walk in and see their valley of baked goods. Everything is delicious, coffee is great, and staff are friendly and helpful. There's WiFi here but it gets pretty crowded and busy and would be a casual stop rather than a Cafe that you can work in.

Friedemann Hertrampf

I've never been to a store with friendly stuff like this. I can still remember all their names. Isn't that a good sign for a great customer experience? They seemed to be very familiar with each other! I will definitely spend at least 5 days a week at this place.

Kuncil Jamal

Great service, kind staff. The selection is massive. But felt it lacked bit of freshness.

Israel Beliveau

I took a almond croissant and it was amazing. The stuff inside the croissant is amazing and the exterior was crisp. Could eat that everyday but watch out your belly. The staff was was very kind even if busy. Outrageous brownie was juste ok. Better get your brownie elsewhere. Chocolate cake was good but not the best.

Lex L

I love eating here! Everything is well made and super yummy. I try something new each time I stop by. They are on the pricier side but it is all made in house. The sandwiches are are not cheap but worth every penny! I love treating myself to a cheese toastie for lunch! They are perfect if your looking for something artesian or if you are looking to treat yourself to something yummy.

Wesley Wilkie

Great little cafe. Excellent selection of cakes and pastries. Caters for Vegans, vegetarians and the staff were very passionate about their products. Great work

Mark Stockfisch

My favorite cake bakery in North America ever! Such a great variaty and quality. Loved the rosmary beach danish, the caramell bar and the carrot loaf. The lemon bar and and quiche with bacon were very good as well!

Don Blyth

Oh my goodness. Yum!! This place is absolutely dessert heaven. They almost have too much selection as it can take me sometimes 5 minutes to decide on what temptation I will enjoy that day. All the baked goods and desserts taste as good as they look. Love this place!! Highly recomend

Golsa Golestaneh

I love this place. Have taken my friends and family here. Whenever I don't have food, I know where to find it. Their vegetarian toasties are amazing. The croissants make you not call other things a croissant anymore. Some of their cakes are too sweet.

Daniella Molina

The best spinach and feta muffin ever! Everything looks great, and the comfortable stayed start as soon as you come in... The staff is great and giving honest recommendation! I love it!

Kristina Thornton

Delicious though perhaps a bit overrated. The prices are quite high and the coffee wasn't stellar, but this place is always packed with people and their very visible selection of baked goods brings on instant salivation. The best I've had there so far is a savory muffin with spinach.

Nicholas Erho

The scone and square I had were a little too sweet for my personal preference; however this place is worth visiting to get your baked goodies. Enjoy!

Virginia Dee

One of the most delicious displays in the city. There’s something for everyone except those with wheat allergies. It’s a feast for the eyes even if I can’t eat all the things!I will be tempted to try something out soon!

Alyssa Litowsky

Love this Vancouver gem. The treats are so gorgeous and the coffee is yummy. What more can I ask for :)

Lady A

My favorite bakery in Vancouver! The sight that greets you when you walk in is enough for most people to whip out their phones and take a photo, it’s glorious! There’s such a variety of baked goods on offer, both sweet and savory, you’ll certainly find something you like. The staff are also lovely too - it’s a pleasure to visit. :)

Amin Taghipour

This cafe has a massive and ever changing selection of scones, cakes, rolls, muffins etc. The coffee is so very good. Staff are amazing. My favourite place to get an afternoon coffee and a bite. They have different items for the morning and afternoons. Savory items are morning-only. Just keep in mind that this place is quite small and you might not always be lucky enough to get a table straightaway.

Ricardo Aguilar

I loved the bread they had, really nice bakery, and really nice people. The place is cosy. If you like coffee, there is also a good one, and a really beautiful La Marzocco machine.

Matt Collinge

Just incredible baked good. So tasty, and so decadent!

밴쿠버AILEEN TV

Lots different kind breads are in here.

Jennifer

Staff was very friendly and the baked goods were amazing! Definitely would go again

Sean Yo

This is my favourite bakery IN THE WORLD. From it's humble beginnings as a stall at the Whistler Farmers Market to a storefront in downtown Vancouver, Purebread has kept it's incredible love of great ingredients to make the best baked goods. The dizzying variety of sweet and savory is outmatched only by the unbelievable quality of everything. Add to that top notch baristas that hold their own in Canada's Coffee Capital and warm, friendly staff who are fast, efficient and have a great sense of humour and you get one of the finest Bakeries in the country.

Joe Gramc

The vast variety of baked goods at this place is impressive. After long contemplation I decided on a butter tart for myself and a lemon tart for my wife. Was very happy with both of them and wished I would've ordered a dozen more things. Definitely worth stopping and ordering your favorite baked good of choice, I'd expect everything else to be just as good.

Josh Ryder

Simply the best bakery I've been to in Vancouver. Anticipate a 5-10 minute wait when they're busy.

Carolyn Hsu

Everything here is perfect, the staff are so friendly and the cake and bread is soooooo yummy

Dylan Brown

Firstly, the coconut banana bread was complete and utter heaven. Visited locations in Whistler and in Vancouver and both were amazing. We gorged ourselves on multiple baked goods and coffee at both locations and could not have been happier with our purchases. A selection of vegan and gluten free options are available, a few more vegan options would be lovely but we left satisfied regardless. Please open a location in Victoria!

Andy Steve N

Here's the problem with Purebread: you walk into the bakery thinking you know what you want. But when you see what's on display, you can't decide what to get. EVERYTHING looks so GOOD. And it tastes even better than it looks. And so you keep coming back. It's a trap.

Kaeli Grotz

The selection of pastries here is absolutely overwhelming... in a good way! We had two savoury muffins, some boozy apple cake, and an almond croissant, along with hot drinks, and everything was delicious. (It was especially lovely to have almond croissant with a filling that didn't have an artificial marzipan taste to it.) The staff were also friendly and efficient, even on a busy holiday. I suspect that we will have to keep coming back to try the hundreds of other enticing options on display. Pistachio lime zucchini loaf, I have my eye on you!

Markella

Hands down my favorite Bakery in British Columbia!!! I have basically tried all the products as I use them for all my corporate events. Everything is amazing!!! Their bacon & egg brioche are mind blowing.

Greg Cohen

Ridiculously great baked goods for breakfast - we even took some extra away - and an awesome selection. Planning to head back asap.

Booger Boy

Really have no idea why the bread and pastries have such a high rating. I can only taste sweetness in their pastries no matter they are so called brownies or chocolate cake. Can't find any character in their bread. Just mixed different ingredients to a generic bread base and called it a new name. Environment is not decent both inside and outside. I went to this place three times and won't go there again. I found some much better places for my daily bread, coffee and pastries. Van mag failed me again.

Jeff Francis

First time I was here... I was wowed. The pastry I had just blew my mind... Their coffee beans of choice are a good selection too. Second time... did not blow me away... left me disappointed. Just didn't have that 'wow' taste the first time did. Will I be back... Really not sure... and that usually means no.

Kyle Gough

Best bakery in the city in my opinion. Was immediately hooked when I first tried the Coconut Cream Cake, but no matter what I've gotten since then it's been amazing. Highly recommend the Drunken Apple Blondie, White Chocolate Ginger Scone, and of course any of the Coconut Cream-type creations. Was elated to find out they also set up a booth at the West End Farmers Market on Saturdays in the summer.

Catherine Bouchard

If you like sweet treats, this is your place! The staff is super friendly and the selection was almost too much for me, being a person with a massive sweet tooth. I would say it's a bit on the pricier side, but it's definetly worth a trip to treat yourself.

Minal C.

Great tasting coffees and variety of bakery! Can’t miss this one ☝️ try all their treats, you won’t be disappointed. Slightly expensive but worth it!

Rosaline Oh

Best baked goods I've had in Vancouver. Some of the hits: - cranberry jam scone - pistachio cream croissant - good ol brownie

Andrew Lim

Amazing bakery selling wide range of pastries, cookies, cakes and muffins.

Keith Price

Incredible variety of baked goods from breads to pastries to cakes. Superb quality and fair prices.

Angelica Alonso

Everything was so delicious!! Amazing place and good service!! Is difficult choose between so many good options.

Farah Mistry

This is my favourite bakery in town! It is a chocoholic's dream come true. They have the best selection of cakes and pastries (including vegan options) as well as some amazing artisan breads. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Luciana Fortes

The pastries here are to die for!!! So tasty, just a tad expensive but worth it for the taste and size of the pastry. Amazing coffee too. Sometimes it gets super busy, especially around 5pm. Staff is super nice. They especialize in sweets: cakes, tarts, bars...and you can order full size cakes if you want too. Amazing place!

Kyle

This is gluten heaven! Everything I have tried here has been amazing ... well except for the coffee, but it’s passable. Long lines in weekends, but it’s worth r wait. The staff are always super friendly and helpful!

Christine Berube

Oh. My. Gosh. I could only imagine that so many incredible baked things could be in one place.

Gurv

Visited the Gastown location and service was amazing! Tried the Cinnamon bun with caramel and pecans, and it was AMAZING! Best ever! Also had an amazing jalapeño and cheddar bread. Tried a huge cream puff stuffed with Nutella and macaroon, but these items were only okay (nothing special).

Dunxiang Foo

A variety of pastries that you will be spoilt for choice. Personally I would recommend you to try the Nutella puff. It's fluffy and rich! I will definitely go back and buy again.

Nicole

I can’t just get one thing here. I always walk away with 2-3. This is my favorite bakery in the PNW. It is my first suggestion to anyone that asks what to do in Vancouver. Do not miss this place!

Rick Wright

I usually left this place with 3 to 4 different kind of pastry! My personal favorite is the outrageous brownie! Everything here just tastes so good; not too sweet!

Keith Shikatani

You can find these delicious baked goods in Whistler Village, Function Junction (just outside Whistler) and near Victory Square in the lower East Side of Vancouver. They also make appearances at local farmers markets during the summer months. The biggest problem I have with Pure Bread is deciding what to get! The pastries are delicious as are the breads. My favorite bread is their Rustic Italian. The bread has an excellent chew and is phenomenal toasted. All the outlets are busy but the wait is well worth it, excellent staff too!

Julien C

The most difficult thing you'll face when entering Purebread on West Hastings, or at some of the famer's market they attend during the summer, is to chose. To chose between so many good looking and tasty pastries (lemon and blueberries loafs!), breads (walnut raisin <3), or home made beverages (lemonade) that you totally should bring some friends with you to share all those treats. They even have a selection of flourless pastries so...you know...no excuses ;)

nurko23yum

Today I had to line up for more than 30min for a cup of coffee, when I got to the front of the shop there was six girls inside doing nothing one picking up the pastries one serving the customers. I commented the fact that it took more then half an hour to the girl behind the counter to which she replied that they are understaffed and clearly was not happy about my comment. Very disappointing service ????

Anisa Anwar

A great variety of baked goods and friendly service. The coconut buttermilk loaf and salted caramel cake are delicious but the omgs are too chocolatey for me, so unless you really, really love chocolate I don't recommend it.

Victoria

Highly recommended by husband to try this new place. Happy experience with the rasberry scone but the blueberry scone is so so and can taste baking soda. The rasberry loaf is ok but the icing has food coloring taste. Sour taste Coffee is definitely not my type. Will try other baked goods next time.

Cody Harris

World class bakery!! The Buckwheat Cherry scones are maybe the best scones I've ever had. If you like baked goods and you don't like PureBread then you don't like baked goods.

Willow Wong

We went in because we saw the mountain of baked goods on display - and was not disappointed! The lavender & earl grey scones were huge and delicious. I feel like this bakery nailed it with the quality and value for money of their products. The only thing I wish was better is the inside seating area which could be larger, considering the size of the crowd that visits the bakery.

Jessica Hume

This place has the best baked goods in town! I love coming here to grab a bite to eat. Hopefully in a couple of months they will reopen their dining space since the store is beautiful as well.

Vanessa Barbe

Visited to grab a morning pastry to go. Unfortunately my savory brioche was under cooked and still raw in the middle. The cookies/bars looked really good, but would not recommend for any Viennoiserie style items.

Louise Curtis

This place is quite simply bakery heaven! The hardest part is choosing what to have, and the second hardest part is trying (and usually failing!) to only get one or two things! Absolutely everything looks delicious, and the treats I’ve had have all been divine! Great coffee and awesome, friendly service. Make sure you take your appetite!

Dustin

This bakery should really go back to the basics. Nearly everything in here contains excessive amounts of sugar, somewhat contrary to what you’d expect given the name of the place. All of that sugar on top masks the mediocrity of their core baked goods.

Christy Cheung

A great bakery, known for a variety of delicious goods! Here, we got an assortment of pastries, the ham and cheese croissant, the spinach and feta brioche, the ham, cheese, and spinach brioche, and finally came the pistachio, lime, and zucchini loaf. My favourite was the ham and cheese croissant, those are always a classic. Looking forward to trying the rest of their wide selection.

Anna K

GET THE FOUR CHEESE BLACK PEPPER SCONE! Just get it. Or any other scone. Or bread. Or pastry. Get anything and you'll eat it before the shop is even out of your eyesight.

Brietta Stewart

I wish I could eat the pastries from Purebread for breakfast everyday. The variety they offer is kinda wild. The only thing that personally bothers me is that they just let all the food sit out in the open instead of concealing them.

Andrew

Got the chocolate croissant and loved it. Super flaky and packed with flavour

Catherine Donaldson

I give this place a 4.5/5 for the baked goods and a 2/5 on the pricing... averaging it out to 3/5. Recently visited with partner and 2 kids. Ordered 4 treats, 2 coffees and a loaf of bread to take home. Cost almost $40. $5 of this was the loaf - $35 is way too much to pay for a couple of coffees and some slices of banana bread and chocolate loaf. Yes, it was delicious - but so are a lot of places at a much lower price. Would expect to pay ~$20. Too bad, the prices have been creeping up over the last few years... by next year it may have to be off my list!

echen

Be careful of this shop!! Everything is too good and so many tasty options that you really can’t pick a few but have to be a lot! Love their raspberry cheesecake brownies the most! And the crème brûlée bun is also amazing !

Branden Fung

Amazing display of pastries with lots of different variety. Ordered the coconut butter cream cake and it was amazing! Rich, moist, and delicious! Would definitely have to visit again to try out their other goodies.

Stan Khan

The food was good and atmosphere was great. I gave only two stars because of the barista. My wife ordered a 1/2 full americano (I like them strong) for me and the barista filled it full with water by mistake. She then said she to my wife that would re-make it. Instead of remaking it I saw her just pour 1/2 down the sink.

Izuma Yaki

Did you know you could reserve bread?? Fantastic, amazing

Mylo Riley

One of my favourite Vancouver bakeries. Great selection of cakes, muffins and scones. Also, really yummy sandwiches. It’s often busy here but is service is quick and friendly. If something is not quite right they are quick and pleasant in correcting the situation. You are lucky to come across any pure bread shop. Make sure you duck in if only to look at the exquisite display.

Tony Lau

Lots of tasty selections. You won't be disappointed. Very fancy creations and they all taste good. Their ciabatta is pretty good but they often run out. If you have a sweet tooth, you need to be here.

Sukhrob Nurullaev

I found this place on TripAdvisor and was questioning how a bakery or a coffee place can become a number one restaurant in the list, and it was until I had my breakfast here. Its definitely worth that spot, very delicious cookies, pastry, bread products. I had the best apple strousel I have ever had here.

Colby Bell

Good treats with a comfortable atmosphere. Excellent variety

Anthony Guarino

Stopped by here with my girlfriend after it being recommended to us by her sister. Absolutely incredible treats. The pecan crumble and chocolate chip brownie were among the best desserts I've had in some time. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures, but this is a highly recommended spot if you are near one!

Paul Needelman

Tasty pastries, breads, sandwiches etc. All fresh and worth the walk to find it. Currently curbside service is offered for health safety reasons.

jamasianman

Video review on youtube: vancity food crew purebread . I tried this place because a friend loves it. I had the "crack bar", and it was alright. Its a good place to get bread or pastries, and especially if you want to take someone on a date. A coffee and nice selection of pastry would be a good idea.

Paula Valente

Simply the best! I have no words to express how amazing my experience at this place was! I wish I could have all of the pastries! It is definitely a must go when you’re in Downtown Vancouver! Will be back for sure! Amazing and friendly staff!

Moneesh Reddy

Super excited to visit, I have been there twice now. Tried different baked goods. So far they be okay, so I am not sure what the hype is about. Good thing is there over 30 different items so it does cater to all needs of their customers. The workers are super friendly, however not sure about the hype.

Marnee Klintworth

Absolutely the best baked goods in town, gets busy early in the day. Get there early if you're planning an event and need lots of products but you can always put together a nice mixture of pastries.

Rina Larabie

One of the best bakeries I've been to in Vancouver. Stopped in for a late breakfast with a friend and was genuinely thrilled with the selection of savory and sweet treats beautifully presented in this modern yet olde worlde shop. Knowledgeable staff and friendly service made our meal thoroughly enjoyable. Paired our fare with a perfect cup of tea in a pleasant atmosphere in this bustling but charming little treasure in the heart of the city. If you look out the window, you see restored heritage buildings across the street. You might feel like you've been transported to somewhere in Europe. Wish I had taken that photo but I will on my next visit. Had to take some of their monster meringues (caramel, chocolate, and coconut, oh my!) home where they became the base for desert when sliced open and filled with fresh berries and pudding. This could become my new favorite destination when I have to go downtown and I'll be looking for the other locations to see what they have to offer.

Rob Rei

I had a great mozzarella, pesto muffin. Thanks to the great staff who looked up the ingredients for me, as I am food allergic. The cappuccino was decent! :) all in all I had a great time.

Kevin McNab

Everything is good so it's hard to decide, and things go quick so it's best to go early.

Eugene Choi

Tried their banana cake with chocolate as a birthday cake. It was my first time trying something this new and I loved it so much. Inside was moist and the chocolate was super rich. I ended up having too much and I would like to try their other cakes.

Ryan Spade

Purchased an already made 6” Chocolate Hazelnut cake. It’s big for its size, and more than enough for 5 people. The taste is great - like a Ferraro Roche chocolate. My only caution, is that the cake is incredibly dense. I prefer mine more soft, spongy and moist. This cake is thick and dense, but pairs well with a glass of milk :) I know they require 48h notice for special occasion cakes, but was surprised they couldn’t write ‘Happy Birthday’ on a pre-made cake the night before. I would’ve appreciated the extra effort, but understand the policy. The staff was prompt and friendly when on the phone and in the store. I’d recommend this bakery.

Michael Kehl

Amazing bakery with an awesome selection of different treats -- you could probably come here for a year and not get the same thing twice. Their coffee is also excellent and they do birthday cakes (never had, but look delicious).

Nazanin M

A small, busy, vibrant cafe. It offers variety of baked goods, accommodating vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian sensitivities without compromising quality or taste. The window seats are perfect for people watching. Purebread also offers a small break, relief or rest from the busyness of downtown, whether it's in the heat of the summer or in the middle of a 10-day downpour in November. Not recommended for seating for more than 2 people, as it's quite small.

강지혜

one of my favorite place in Vancouver. I try new cake every sunday. coconut cream cake and apple tart are sooooo yummy????????

Paula Riner Waltz

The bacon and cheddar brioche was superb! Also ordered a zucchini lime and pistachio loaf to go. Really, we could have gotten everything behind the counter and not been disappointed. The atmosphere was very relaxed on a Sunday morning, too. Definitely worth a stop in--it's open an hour before everyone else on a Sunday morning.

Erlita Thornley

This bakery has a great variety of goodies. Not only do they have cakes, squares, cookies and other sweet treats but also savoury options and yummy sandwiches!

Jenn

Incredible selection of fresh baked goods. The price may seem steep but it is 100% worth it. I will be making multiple visits here during my visit to Vancouver

Dave Hinshaw

Oh my goodness - these cakes, treats, breads, and coffees are absolutely stunning. A definite stop in the morning - even with a line out the door! The staff is super friendly and wonderful. I’m writing this as I’m shoveling a scone into my mouth! SO GOOD!!!!

Sherwin Wong

Willy Wonka in real life and in the for of baked treats. Pick anything. Literally. You cant go wrong. A place to get jacked up on sugar, dough and caffeine and deal with the repercussions of the sugar crash later. Baked treats so good you can't pass up.

Alda Barrera

Love this place!! The best salted caramel brioche ever!!!

R B

Amazing pastries selection and great tea! Seating is limited during rush hours

Hyewon Park

One of the best bakeries in town, and super friendly staffs. They were so nice and I really enjoyed shopping. Recommend "Lemon creme cake" (not sure 100%), but you will never fail in this lovely bakery. Each of bite was perfect

Vinita Ramsay

Our favorite bakery in the whole wide world! HUGE variety of baked goods! Everything not only looks good, but tastes wonderful too. Portions are generous. Sweet and savory treats include cakes, breads, scones, brooches and more. Very difficult to resist the lure of this wonderful bakery, therefore glad we don't live here and visits are limited to a couple times a year!!

Eric Harris

Always been a fan of the whistler shop and this one is little different. Only problem is there is too much to eat at once. Not in the greatest area but nothing wrong. Come in and take a long look as there is usually something baked that will found. Earl grey tea scones are my favourite.

Ilona Riley

Amazing selection of sweet and savoury baking. Nice little place to sit and have lunch or an afternoon treat. I highly recommend the pies! Also, the grilled cheese is delicious but HUGE so order to share.

이흐웅

Every breads was pretty and look delicous, but actually, taste was bad ???? i recomend jere if you wanna take a photo

Natalie McKay

The place is usually packed for a reason. It has so many amazing baked goods every day that look as good as they taste. Problem is always deciding on just one treat.

Matthew Gayford

Stopped by for breakfast and picked up a biscuit. Great taste and reasonable price for the quality, plus it is right by my workshare. I will probably be back while I am in Vancouver.

Karl Lehrer

I do not recommend this place for bread. I bought a baguette, an Italian bread and can only be disappointed by the quality. It looks factory made, the dough is chewy and the crust is as hard as plastic. Completely tasteless and overpriced. I give one star as the staff is very friendly. Weird neighbourhood be ready to see open drug use and syringes on the floor - don't go there with your kids.

Herman D

Had a piece of the butterscotch cake and it was very dry as though it had been sitting out for a few days, not fresh at all. We didn’t even have more than a couple bites. We wanted to try the coconut cake and there was a whole cake on display but they said they couldn’t cut a slice out of a full cake because they were closing in 30 mins and wanted to save it for the next day. They have a lot of desserts out on display that probably sit there for days. The coffee was decent but not great, especially since gastown has so many great choices for coffee. Overall disgusting. I suggest walking over to Breka or one of the other amazing bakeries downtown.

Lara M

Amazing selection of pastries. Seriously one of the best in the city. However they have the worst coffee selection. If you want a proper lattè or a London fog forget it at this place. They for whatever reason don’t offer any flavour shots or know how to make a London log. There tea selection is horrible too. Pastries and fancy lattes go hand and hand. It’s unfortunate you have to come here for pastries then go somewhere else to get a proper lattè.

James

Good coffee and selection of cakes. Worth a visit.

Soo Kim

Staffs were super nice. Overall, taste was good. But the cheddar jalapeno scone was undercooked in the middle. Had to throw away after only eating the outside.

Colleen C

Love love love this place! Visit it every time I’m in the area if not just to sniff the delicious air. Everything smells and tastes so good! The baked goods are baked fresh in store and the cakes are simply amazing! Highly recommend.

W Lyons

Great bakery with a huge selection.

sally saber vuong

Bakery was nice and clean inside. Everything tested really good

GREAT selection of baked goods - lots of sweets and savory treats. The staff were working hard yet still very helpful and friendly.

Delicious products. Name misleading though, multiple products include fruits, Chocolate, cheese and other decidedly non-bread items. 4/5

Very tasty pastry, delicate designs delight - savory scones, moist muffins, and beautiful bread. If it was closer on my usual route to work I'd have trouble not going every morning. Coffee isnt half bad either.

All kinds of quality baked goods and bread with a coffee shop-bakery vibe. Prices are decent. It’s a very busy place but things move along fast. Basically anything and everything is delicious (and rich) but worth every bite. The coffee is average, had a macchiato which was a disappointment same with the drip coffee, was tiny considering it’s just flavored water. But the service makes up for it. Extremely friendly and helpful staff with lots and lots of patience! Seating is limited. Quick turnover on some tables then you have those that occupy a table for two with their laptop for hours :( so likely you’ll be standing outside to eat or take it to go. TL;DR: baked goods are amazing but take it to go and skip the coffee and get it elsewhere.

Very homey atmosphere. Fresh. Excellent coffee. I had the veggie breakfast in bread, and my mom had the almond chocolate croissant. Both were amazing. Would recommend.

Great place! Everything I’ve tried here is delicious!

Such a large selection of delectable treats it is hard to choose. Everything I have tried was very good to amazing. There are meranges the size of your head and more savory treats if that is more of your thing. It can be crowded so be patient and shuffle along the glass wall trying to decide what to have.
