We went in for a late lunch, place was almost empty and we ordered soup, sandwich, and salad. 20 minutes past before i went and asked where our food was. Somebody new in the kitchen apparently, was the curt explanation i was given. Thats fine but maybe at minute 10 or 15, let us know. There was no other customers so not sure why the long delay. Food was ok. I ordered the pizza panini special if the day. It had a couple slices of ham, pepperoni. No tomato sauce. Hmmm. I know this is a local gem but i havent been won over yet even after a few visits.

Nice Bakery but don't waste you money on the sandwiches.. for 10 dollars you get a couple of mouth fulls of sandwich, albeit it is tasty but you need two or three for a lunch. . Red Barn gets you a much better deal or even subway

What's a schnecke? You'll have to visit to find out! Little Vienna Bakery is a family-owned business located just west of the town centre. With a focus on fresh, European-style bakery items from treats and cakes to every kind of bread imaginable, the current owners took this already-popular establishment and created something truly next-level. I'll often visit in the morning (it's right across the highway from Sooke's premier real estate office!) for an espresso and breakfast - they have tremendous eggs Benedict among many other items. At lunch, you can't beat their freshly-made sandwiches and they're the only place that has managed to make vegetarian chili so good I don't miss the meat. Their focaccia bread is out of this world, and their staff is very friendly and helpful - true ambassadors for the west coast hospitality our town is famous for. When you go, just order a schnecke, you'll be glad you did!

Quality food. We got the Turkey cran-brie panani (points for the witty name!), a nanimo bar and the daily muffin (blueberry raspberry burst!). The panani is with homemade foccacia, it was delicious! Well portioned but a bit on the more expensive end in my opinion. The nanimo bar was really good! It was not too rich and would get again! The muffin was so good as well! It had a ton of berries in it and was moist! Would go here again for sure!

Found this place by accident one morning while passing through Sooke. Ordered both the breakfast bun and turkey cranberry focaccia sandwich and they were amazing, a couple of the best cafe sandwiches I’ve had. Their bread is so soft and the flavours of everything came together really well! It’s my new favourite cafe in Sooke.

Came in for breakfast. Was asked if I wanted potatoes on the side for everything I ordered- wasn't told they were an extra and cost $3.00 more. The eggs Benedict had such a vinegar taste that it was sour, and the breading it was in was so tough that even the steak knife provided had to work to get through it. Our other meal we ordered had eggs and sausage which were quite tasty, but the toast... looked just like bread, no "toasted" look to it at all, however was hard and crusty and difficult to chew. It was almost more dehydrated rather than toasted. For two breakfasts and two coffees, the cost was around $33 and we did not enjoy it enough to consider coming back to try the breakfast menu again. That being said, the last time I was there we ordered panini lunches and they were absolutely delicious. The lemon pound cake was horribly dry, but their strawberry tartlet was tasty. It does inspire me to want to try again though. I will be going back to try other cakes and their Saturday crepe special. Most reviews are so good I must have just picked the wrong stuff on the menu I guess.

Wonderful patio and delicious food. Following Covid precautions all of the sandwiches are prepackaged daily. This does not stop them from being absolutely delicious. Had the turkey brie and cranberry sandwich with a hint of rosemary in the bread. My wife, a long time fan of butter tarts, was surprised to find cranberries make butter tarts even more amazing. Lovely outside garden patio with a fountain. We also noticed someone sanitizing each table after every use. This wonderful little bakery is making the best of a bad situation.

I discovered this gem of a place on a motorcycle trip through Sooke. I've now put this quaint spot AND the Chef's Choice specialty crepes (offered Saturdays only) as a once a month destination for this decadent delight! Outdoor seating in the garden is also a nice option.

Really cute bakery with delicious breakfast and lunch options! Their classic breakfast is great, especially the potatoes! The turkey avocado sandwich is to die for, and the amount of turkey on it is great! The bacon is also excellent, much better than other breakfast places. They have a good variety of baked goods and breads as well, and frozen foods! The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful, and I absolutely love coming here! Can't recommend highly enough! Will have to try some of their hot drinks next time I'm here!

I gave been coming to bakery 15 yrs.. 3 owners I think. I never saw the German phferminz Xmas cookies as I zeroed in on stollen loaf. If I had opened pack of 6 before dec 25th, I would speed back there and get a few more packs to ration each cookie out for weeks for myself. Absolute layers of perfection of flavor and texture and beautiful visual. Next year they will serve as a gift for others. Thank you.

Cute patio on our way through Sooke to go to Juan de Fuca for a camping weekend. Good portion size, not too big, not too small. Place is clean and have it's own parking lot. Will definitely come back next time we are in Sooke and need a bite to eat. Their bread looks good too! We didn't get any but had a couple slices of toast with the breakfast.

Five stars for the sourdough and peasant bread, an almost perfect croissant and exceptional Viennese Danish. 1 star for the ridiculous 30 minute lineup IN store last Sunday, which during CoVid must be an infraction. Three employees working and too many customers for such a small space. You're running a busy patio coffee shop from behind that one counter, making coffee, filling big orders, slicing bread, boxing up pastries and doing takeout. Please hire more staff; take our orders, tap only, don't accept cash and when backed up, deliver to the customer at a table placed the door. Much success...it's a wonderful European bakery!

Their Italian Chocolate Rhapsody cake, which is also gluten free, and their Vegan Chocolate cake are mouth wateringly delicious. The vegans in our family say it's the best they've had (tried other bakeries and homemade) and the Italian Chocolate Rhapsody is like a fudge brownie with raspberries is a chocolate lovers heaven. They were both beautifully decorated too. Easy to place an order and worth every penny. Looking forward to having leftover cake today. Yum Their display case is filled with all kinds of sundry pastries. The staff are very nice, professional, approachable and courteous. We'll be back and not just for cakes.

Nice little cafe in Sooke. I personally found their menu board a little confusing and it could be reworked. Ordered the breakfast bun and the cinnamon schnoke. Definitely order the schnoke. It’s like a cinnamon bun style pastry and it was fantastic. Breakfast bun was ok, it was what I needed before a long hike.

We stopped here for lunch and we were happy they had vegan options. We ordered and then waited over 45 minutes for 4 sandwiches!?! There were many people who came in much after us that were served. 10-15 minutes before us. Not sure what happened to our order. No explanations or apologies. The bread was good but the sandwiches were just mediocre. If you need somewhere to eat this will do. Just don't expect fast service or exceptional food.

What a quaint little place! I had a classic 2 egg breakfast with sour dough toast and Turkey sausage. Skipped on hash browns ( personal choice) Various pastries are fresh and not sickly sweet! If you are driving through stop by for a relaxed warm and inviting break, especially if you are on the bike and need warming up!!

Ordered wannawafel ($4.50) with fruit compote (jam) on top (extra $2.75). Waited for 40 minute (the place wasn't really packed). I got a pretty hard waffle with brown sugar at the bottom and jam on top. The taste was ok, but just very hard to cut, definitely not the best I had. Waitress was nice, but unfortunately I won't come back here again.

I considered Starbucks expensive, but if you visit this bakery, the prices are much higher. I guess I need to lower my expectations.

We were not expecting such a cute courtyard at this coffee shop! Would highly recommend relaxing with you coffee there. They had an amazing chocolate brownie that I wish I could go back for again! Nice, cute little place to stop for a sandwich, coffee or pastry. My girlfriend and I had the roast beef sandwich which was just ohkay. The avocado chicken sandwich was much better. Their lentil/beef soup was very good however. And we ended up coming home with a baguette that we made some bruschetta with. Very tasty. Overall, if your in the Sooke area, it wouldn't be a bad place to stop for a snack/coffee. Seemed to be very popular among the locals.

Little Vienna used to be a fantastic restaurant with the BEST calzones and pizzas on Vancouver Island. Now it's just ok. At least they figured out how to make a decent cup of coffee. Pastries and cakes have remained the same and are still really good. They used to make potato salad that was absolutely incredible as well. It's a shame when businesses don't pay attention to trends and what's current, they could still hold onto their identity without losing customers if they changed their 1000 year old menu.
