i've been enjoying these cake jars since i first discovered them a year ago and they're always delicious perfection -- you can taste the love! today i placed an order through uber eats for an event tomorrow, but when the order arrived, some items were missing and the delivered items were the wrong flavour. when i contacted the shop, Raveena apologized and immediately made it right. she went above and beyond dropping off the original order (plus extras and at no charge) after what i'm sure was a long and exhausting day. amazing desserts *and* excellent service? a rare gem.

The best. Period. It was great dealing with them. My sister in law really wanted to have a certain design from Just Cakes but they were closed on that day and 2 days before that. We kept looking around and couldn't find anyone else. I emailed Raveena and she offered to help on a day off, even though she wasn't feeling too good. You can't find that anywhere else.

I love the cake jars and desserts here the red velvet is the best I've tried in a long time. On Sunday my husband and I came in to grab a 'to go' cake for an event we were attending. We had chosen the strawberries and cream which looked beautiful and given the amazing reviews on the other items we were excited to have everyone try it. Unfortunately we were left disappointed with the flavor and texture of the cake as a whole. As beautiful as it was the flavor was just not there. The strawberry filling was a bit tarte and tasted great, however, the cake itself was dense and somehwat dry. The worst part of the cake was the buttercream, it was hard all throughout the cake (I understand the outside buttercream can dry out a bit but even the buttercream in the cake layers was a solid piece) it was akin to trying to eat cold sliced butter from the refrigerator. For $50 it was beautiful but im hesitant to try a different flavor of the to go cakes since my experience with the strawberries and cream was poor.

I wish I could say all the reviews were wrong. But that darn cake in a jar is so addictive I'm going to drive 45 minutes round trip just to get another one. I wish they were closer but those things are seriously amazing. Don't try one because you won't be able to stop. Okay - try one. I had the chocolate coconut, can't remember what hubby had because he wouldn't share it. Great shop and excellent service.

Was very excited to try their cakes after seeing the wonderful reviews but sadly not so impressed. Bought and tried the chocolate salted caramel JCB to go collection, it was too sweet and the top butter cream layer was very thick and buttery(not in a good way). One can’t eat even 2 spoonful of the cake at one go and it gets very overpowering. Followed the instructions of keeping the cake out for atleast 2 hours out of fridge before eating but the results were not good(see the pic, caramel oozing out but the top layer still a thick butter layer). Service and reception at the shop were excellent so 1 star extra for that

Just Cakes Bakeshop is one of my fave bakeries in Surrey. Her treats are everything...beautiful, creative and delicious. I am addicted to her cake jars and I wish I had a lifetime supply of them! I ordered my sister's birthday cake from the bakery last year and I was sooo happy with the result. Everyone was raving about the cake, first about how pretty it was and then about how amazing it tasted. It was so decadent. I would definitely order another cake in the future from Just Cakes. All of my e-mails regarding my order were responded to promptly and she made the process easy. I feel that her pricing is very fair when you think about all the steps it takes to make the desserts. She trained in Paris and brings all her skills to the table which is what sets her bakery apart from the rest. She posted a video of herself making pavlovas recently and there were so many steps involved. It wasn't just putting some fruit into a meringue shell. She takes her desserts to the next level and that's why I will continue to go back to Just Cakes.

Delicious cupcakes! The store is tiny and can only really accommodate 1-2 cuatomers at a time right now due to covid. A sizeable line can form, so you're better off ordering ahead for pick up as it can get busy.

I live within uber eats ordering distance of JCB, and I have to tell you, it takes an insane amount of self control not to place an order every day! The Ferrero Rocher cake jar is to DIE for. The Cardamom dream is a delectable delight that'll have you dreaming of desi flavors for weeks to come. The Espresso Caramel cheesecake is every coffee lover's dream. I won't keep talking about all the flavors I've tried, but suffice it to say her cake jars are like Pokemon. You're gonna want to catch [and eat] them all! And it's not just cake jars. In general, their flavors are perfection, their attention to detail is meticulous, and their fearless leader Raveena is an innovative dessert GENIUS. If you ever have the privilege of ordering from her shop, you are in good hands. I cannot recommend JCB highly enough!

The best in the lower mainland!! All the flavours are to try for but our all time favourite has to be the red velvet chocolate! The cake jars are the best ideas to give as party favours as well. The customer service we received was amazing. We highly recommend Just Cakes Bakeshop!

This is really a very good bakery and people who run it know their stuff. I will definitely order cake but won't be standing in line to buy their stuff again, I don't think it's worth it mostly cause you won't know what will be available to you. I called here at around noon to check if they have cake availability and I was told they have 4 cakes for the day. When I asked if I can book it I was told there is lineup so I can book it. Fair enough, with FOMO kicking in I rushed to the store stood in line and the last cake was picked by the person before me. The cake definitely looked great. I wasn't upset about missing out but if the staff know their cakes gets sold out within an hour of opening why not make a few more? Also, I think the setup could be more efficient. There are two ppl one taking orders and other doing billing. People in general take a lot more time ordering since it's a nice bakery with lot of options that's understandable, but the other billing person is just standing and waiting. Stores allow two people to enter (with covid restrictions) for order so the second person is just standing and waiting for their turn to order.I think these lineups are here to stay even after covid.

Just Cakes creates some of the most beautiful cakes and delectable treats. I’ve tried many of their desserts (the Cardamom Dream is a literal dream, and I’ve just about tried all of their cake jars), and I cannot get enough of Just Cakes. Plus, they won the Big Bake on Food Network! Such a cool spot. Highly recommended.

I custom ordered Cardamom dream pastry jars free from vanilla extract(alcohol free). Raveena did an exceptional job making sure each component was surely free from alcohol like the milk chocolate for cinnamon ganache that was used had vanilla bean instead of extract. The attention to detail and care was appreciated so so much. Thank you very much from bottom of my heart.

On the website it showcases tea options but in store you only get one type of tea in a to go mug, when there website clearly shows different types of tea in a china mug. Not impressed

I love going to Just Cakes to grab cupcakes or the cake jars, especially since they have eggless options! I got my wedding cake and afterwards birthday cakes made by Raveena as well, and they were delicious! Even my mom (who doesn't have a sweet tooth) was going in for seconds. Raveena does her best to accommodate her customers wishes. I'm only giving one less star because there's been a couple of times when we would go in and there would be nothing eggless left, and this isn't necessarily towards the end of the day. We drive about 30 minutes just to get there to be disappointed with no dessert. I wish they could inform their customers on their website or elsewhere if they are sold out of certain desserts, it only seems fair. Otherwise, I will always get my cakes from Raveena, she's very trustworthy and professional!

I went to get a birthday cake here and found out the name changed from sugar patisserie to just cakes .. the only cakes they had were 6 inch tall cakes for $55. It was my step daughters 25th birthday and I though about and bought it! The cake was very dry and icing was not very good. For a 6 inch cake to be $55 I was expecting it to be fresh and amazing

Visited the bakery today and although a tad difficult to find, worth it once you do! The aesthic is very polished and classy. We had the Oreo slice and Reese’s cream puff and were not disappointed. The Oreo slice had a very good filling and the Reese’s cream puff was big enough to share. Both desserts justify going back to try something else. The owner was personable and welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to greet all her customers. A very positive experience.

This was my second time ordering from Just Cakes Bakeshop and I couldn’t be happier. My husbands 36th birthday was on Friday and during a pandemic I didn’t want to attempt to get a cake from a grocery store NOR attempt to bake one myself haha. I have tried their jars , undoubtedly delicious. But I picked up red velvet cake this Friday for my daighi birthday . I was disappointed , as I it was way too sweet and as I expected butter cream . It wasn't like that. There was a thick layer of icing that was too sugary and hard. Generally its a soft icing on cakes . But it didn't taste good. I don't concern about price as their quantity is also worthy. But they should consider lil bit about sugar quantity. Though I will try another stuff too. Thanks

Spent 2 days trying to order a cake from their awful website that looks like a high schooler made. After failing for 2 days I go and order in person just for them to tell me they are fully booked for that day. I can understand having website issues, but for having it for multiple days and not taking orders over the phone to compensate. A premium cake company should have a functional website or some alternative.

I have been going to Just Cakes Bakeshop for the past couple of years and have yet to find a better place to satisfy my cake cravings (and I have a lot of them)! I love their cake jars, and my favourite flavour has been the red velvet--it has always been consistently moist and the cream cheese icing is perfect without being too sweet! I tried a cheesecake jar with berry compote over the summer which was also amazing and have been waiting for that to come back! Some other flavours I have enjoyed are the tuxedo and double chocolate jars. I could honestly eat them every day! Thank you for working so hard to make such amazing desserts that truly bring so much joy to my day :)

Good cakes, but taking off one star due to the price. I find it really pricey and was wondering if you could consider cake slices instead of jars. I feel the quantity doesn’t justify the price. Places like purebread charge about $6 for a slice of cake, but it is so filling and hard to finish during one sitting so it feels more justifiable . Just my two cents. Otherwise good stuff

If you like soft moist cake this is the place. Best part is you get cakes in a jar so even if you can't finish you know it will remain fresh. I'm not sure about other cakes but if you like red velvet cake I would recommend trying it here. By far the only place who doesn't make the cakes super sweet, just the right balance.

JCB has been my go to bakeshop since 2013. Any custom cake I've required has always been ordered through Raveena. The cakes taste amazing and are a work of art. Her passion truly shines through her work. If you haven't yet had a chance to visit the bakery, you are missing out! The staff are so friendly and the pastries and desserts are amazing. If you need suggestions on what to try first, my personal favorite is the Le Rocher!

The cake was very well made, the decoration and presentation were very good. The only problem was that the icing was very sweet for our tastes, so I would likely not get another one. We had the Tuxedo cake, and the layers inside were great, just the exterior and decorative icing.

I ordered a cake for a friends birthday. I specifically ask for mango flavour as it was the birthday girl’s favourite. However, they suggested mango compote with vanilla cake and buttercream filling as they can’t or don’t do fresh fruit. The day of the event the guest, myself and my friend were pretty disappointed as the cake was too sour, not to mention very dry. Only half of the 6” cake was eaten and ended up in the trash. I emailed JCB and they explained that there might have been a mix up with the order as they had other orders with mango-passion fruit compote in it and because they look alike, there could have been a mix up. This left me disappointed and confused as how could there be a mix up? I was clear with my order and even drove 40 mins to pick it up. It questions me if they even taste the cake before they mix it up and put it together. The only redeeming quality of it was it’s presentation, atleast it was beautiful and looked exactly how I requested it to look.

We live in white rock and drove all the way to their surrey location to pick it up in the morning and it was all ready for me, totally a pain free pick up! Whenever I tried ordering cake the girl always have an excuse that they are so busy and can’t take the order ! Went to Oh so sweet sugar boutique and they took our order right away !!! I loved the fact that they were so inviting and didn’t hesitate to help me with the order right away!!! Well it’s just cakes loss and someone else’s gain! I wouldn’t give just cake even 1star because they don’t have people skills !! Worst service everrrrrrrr!!!! Will never recommend them to any of my families and friends !! This place has beautiful pastries and cakes. I tried the Pistachio Raspberry Eclair it was so yummy, and I also had the Red Velvet jar cake it was to die for. They change up the menu monthly, so I'll definitely will be back for more. Unfortunately giving them a 4 because service was not friendly, we were never greeted and I felt so rushed, and there was no one in the store or waiting in line

I placed an order online from pakistan to be delivered in surrey. I got prompt email replies and the staff was very helpful.They arranged delivery as well and it was delivered exactly on time. The taste was really good too! I've had an amazing experience. Definitely recommend it to others as well. Will definitely be ordering again.

ordered a 30 birthday cake it went great I went in with just a theme and a few days later she emailed with several ideas with different sizes and prices. I told her how much I was willing to spend and it went from there. we touched basis a few times over email and I was very pleased. exactly what I wanted. the cakes are not cheap bland grocery store cakes so dont expect a $20 cake I chose a red velvet cake and it was the best cake I ever had so tasty and moist and the filling white chocolate ganache omg so good

Employees and management definitely don’t value customer service. They clearly prefer prepaid large orders over walk in customer for cake jars etc. I have been to other bakeries too. Never seen any system that takes 20-30 minutes for start up. Got reply back from owner but they cared more about review rather than earning me as their customer. They lost me as a customer!!! And I will be sharing my story on social media as well

Got few cakes from them on past. It is pricy option to go but without a doubt they are delicious. But if you are looking to drop by to pick up cupcakes or cakes not the best place to go. For cakes there is usually one to two left by 2 pm and of course zero by 4 pm. Cupcakes they only have two options chocolate and red velvet. The popular flavour Vanilla, they never make. Safe yourself from disappointment unless you have placed order in advance.

I've had a great experience with Raveena-not only did she make my wedding cake but she was also able to accommodate a birthday cake for my husband's 30th on short notice and both cakes delivered! However, just today I decided to check out her bakery and was really disappointed with the customer experience I had with the person at the front of the house. There was no greeting, no smile, and overall I felt like the person was not very helpful or professional. I was really disappointed because I did have a good experience with Raveena and expected this much of her front of house staff.

Excellent all around. I recently ordered a chocolate salted caramel cake for my daughter's birthday and it was delicious. I usually can't eat buttercream icing because I always find it sickeningly sweet but theirs is not nearly as heavy or sweet as most. The cake itself was delicious too with just the right amount of caramel. Did I mention it looked adorable?? It did! I also recently tried a few different cake jars and the big chocolate chip cookies and they're all so good. I would honestly highly recommend this bakery, their products are amazing and the customer service was great too.

JCB did an amazing job creating a custom golf theme cake for my partner's birthday. Everyone was so impressed with not only how nice it turned out but also how moist and tasty it was (without being overly sweet). The restaurant even took a piece to share as they couldn't turn down trying it! We can't wait to come back and try other flavour options as Raveena offers quite a list of unique options. Finding the shop was the most difficult as it is out of visual distance from the road. Adding to the confusion is the location looking line a side lane and no billboard lighting and rather relative darkness. We tried the cake in a bottle chocolate flavor and pretty happy with the product. Some of the high end cake costs above 2000$ (for 250 people) Overall this bakery might be good BUT NOT the place you would go every week FOR REGULAR school going ITEMS.

Frequently visit this bakery and have been a fan since the first time I picked up a cake jar from an prescription eye glasses store few years back before there was a storefront. Went in today to get a To go cake to take to Kelowna for my sisters birthday and Raveena was there in person. Not only are the baked goods delicious, the customer service is also something to be proud of!!!! I was honestly a little shy to see the famous baker herself but she is super kind and friendly. Would recommend this place to anyone - I mean c’mon we took a cake all the way from Surrey to Kelowna - because it’s that good.

We ordered a gluten free cake from here and it was really good. It didn’t even taste gluten free and it was amazing. It tasted great and looked very nice. I would recommend getting custom gluten free cakes from here. I have tried other well known bake shops and have had bad experiences.

I drive 45 minutes each way for Just Cakes. Their cake jars are amazing. There’s a reason why they won the Big Bake on Food Network, because they are THAT GOOD. You can taste the quality in the desserts and see the passion and energy from the employees when you’re being served. To start with the appearance it looked great and very tempting. The taste was good too . However The food colour used in the blue cake (Classic GiIded and fixings ) was horrendous. After only one bite our mouth teeth was deep blue and the colour wont come off . It was a huge embarrassment to have blue mouth in public . Would NOT reorder this particular cake .

My husband and I ordered our wedding cake from Just Cakes Bakeshop after both being huge fans of all of the desserts, cake jars, cupcakes & cookies we have tried from the shop! We couldnt have been more happier with the cake we recieved! it went with our darker theme perfectly and had fresh flowers on it! my most memorable part of my wedding was looking around the room and seeing all of our guests with black teeth which we knew would happen as our cake was black w/gold drips, it was soo funny and created loads of laughs. not only did it aesthetically look good but the cake itself was moist and tasted great with the buttercream not being overly sweet. Raveena did an amazing job and im so glad i was able to have someone as talented as her make my wedding cake! thanks again! :)

My mom unexpectedly passed away and myself and my two siblings wanted to say thank you to Abbotsford Hospital for their amazing effort in trying to save her life. We contacted Sippchai because of the reviews on their donuts. I called the owner Jas and told him our story. Not only did he get a bit emotional on the phone with me, he put away 20 donuts for us early so that we could pick them up during the staff’s morning break time. If that wasn’t enough, he took it upon himself to reach out to Just Cakes and explained the story to them. Just Cakes went above and beyond and not only made 20 beautiful jars available to us, they DONATED them, no questions asked. I can’t get over how amazing the staff/owners must be to blindly support my family and Abbotsford hospital. It’s the true display of pay it forward. I’m so happy they helped us spread some joy in my moms memory. I can’t thank you guys enough. Please know how touched we were by your generosity !

First time try this bakery. Couldn’t be more happy. They booked full for custom cakes so we only ordered ToGo cake. At first thought a little pricy for a “basic cake” but by the time to pick up it seems so much fancy than expected. So much cream and filling, tall and heavy! Lots of details Totally worth it. In addition, the sweetness is just about right! In fact it is under sweet which we loved and kids loved it. And they did us a favour to let us pick the cake before they actually open. I couldn’t think of anything that am not happy about. definitely will choose their service again.

Walked in to the store as I opened the door there was 3 customers inside one was being served other two standing behind, then young lady in counter said it's full capacity and asked me to stand outside. I polity said ok and was waiting and waiting after all 3 customers left I opened the door and asked if I could come in then she said ok and said it's only 1 cutomer at a time. Then I asked how come there were 3 people inside and why rule only applies to me. Then she laughed and said sometimes it happens. I was so angry of her discriminatory behaviour and looking down on me like that. I just walked out after not buying the cake which was intended for a special occasion. Rude front counter staff and will never ever go again.

Great experience! Raveena is a total artist and works incredibly hard on every little project she has. She did my sisters wedding cake back in August and it was AMAZING to say the least. A few weeks ago I got a custom birthday cake made by her and it was breath taking. Ever requested I had, she delivered and it was well worth it. Will definitely be back!

This review is long overdue but I stand by every word: If I could give Just Cakes more than 5 stars, I would!! I chose Just Cakes to make our wedding cake in September 2018 after going for a trial and being blown away by the delicious flavours. The two that we ended up choosing were Vanilla Praline and Hazelnut Espresso. Side note: as I write this, I'm beginning to drool just thinking about how amazingly good both flavours tasted!! On the day of my wedding, Raveena got into a freak minor accident while delivering the cake. Luckily she was alright, and somehow (I still don't know how) miraculously managed to rush back to remake my cake with her team!! The cake arrived with time to spare and when it was time to cut and eat the cake, our guests could not stop talking about how AMAZINGLY delicious our cake was! Everyone wanted to know where it was from, what flavours they were, etc. I would highly recommend this place, not just for wedding cakes, but for any of their delicious treats they have in their shop on a daily basis - we also picked up an assortment of treats on a different day and enjoyed each and every one of them! I can't wait to go back to try some more treats the next time I visit BC :)

There were some issues with cake bake (made the wrong flavour). Then, the cake fell as they were packing it. I was really upset, Raveena not just she apologized but baked, decorated and delivered a new cake to my door in 45 mins. Mistakes happen as we're all humans but how you deal with them shows your passion and work ethics. Thankyou for great customer service and your efforts. I appreciate it

I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday and it was absolutely amazing. The cake was super moist and best of all, neither the filling or the buttercream frosting was sweet. I went for seconds and had I had room for it, would have had a third piece. Best of all, you don't get that sick feel in your stomach after eating it. I also picked up a few pastries and they were all amazing. The chai cheesecake is award winning for a reason. Again the pastries were very well balanced and not overly sweet. Loved everything and will definitely be back.

I called before I went on a Saturday to make sure it was open and stocked. Was told there was fast moving short line and plenty of choices. The line was quick but I was very disappointed to find no cookies or macarons and only jar cakes and 2 types of cupcakes available. The website showed all of these plus cake slices and pastries etc as being on the 'daily menu' so the lack of selection was frustrating. Cupcakes were good and fairly priced, just wish communication and selection was better.

Ordered the Red Velvet To-Go Cake for a party and the red velvet unfortunately fell short of moisture/taste. I have tried the jars and they are SO amazing! So I was surprised to find the cake was dry and the cream cheese frosting was lacking the cream cheese taste as the jars do! The frosting on the inside tasted like regular frosting. I understand the jars are more dense and have a lot more sweetness to it but I thought I would just come on here to give some feedback

I thought I’d check out this place as it came up on my explore page on Instagram. Drove about 25 minutes just now from New West. Got a few cake jars. Flavours were good but the girl at the front was just terrible. I asked her a few questions on flavours and what not, she just gave me one word answers. No smile. No thank you. Just terrible. Her name was Prabjot. Update: 10/11 I’ve gone back to this place a number of times since. I couldn’t resist their yummy pastries, even ordered a Thanksgiving carrot cake. It was the most delicious cake I’ve ever had. I still run into Prabjot here and there, and nothings changed with her attitude but honestly, their treats are so yummy that I’ll suck up her non-existent customer service. The other girls are great though !
