Great selection of amazing local pastries, and all made fresh! From cannoli, to breads, to squares, holiday cookies, muffins, nanaimo bars, it's all delicious and made in-house. OMG the cakes, I haven't even mentioned the cakes, which are also as beautiful to look at as they are to taste. An amazing local gem, can't recommend it highly enough.

You should stop by in the mornings if you can and grab a huge (day-old) loaf for $2. They taste fresh if you bake it for a few minutes in the toaster oven. Their cannolis and croissants are also delicious.

Fratelli's has incredible baked goods. The staff are very friendly. The area outside is a great place to sit and eat the good stuff you bought from them. Some of my favorites are the St. Honore (It's basically a cake covered in cream puffs), love the breads (especially the ones with olives in them), they have a great variety of croissants, and they also sell frozen pizza dough (which is great for make your own pizza night). Basically, I love this place and I couldn't imagine the neighborhood without them.

Great place for a quick sweet treat. A couple of things to know: 1. Bring cash if you are in for a very only a few pieces as there's a minimum charge for debit (5$) and credit (15$). 2. There is no indoor seating. Also, if you happen to be from Venezuela, the canolli with custard filling tastes like home (we know it there as enrollados). Dropping a star as the place would be much better if I could sit inside to have a coffee with my cannoli.

Fratelli came thru with a beautiful, delicious and authentic cake for a very special occasion on what I thought was a bit short notice with the holidays so close. I'm really impressed with everything - from the service when I ordered to freshness, quality and presentation. The birthday lady was thrilled with the cake as were all of her guests - the cake we chose also served more we than expected the size was very generous. I would definitely recommend and will be back.

I have not been disappointed thus far. Ordered a cake for my bday last year and again this year for my father's 50th bday. Both times they were amazing. I'm partial to the mousse cakes and they are always light a fluffy. They are not overly sweet which I appreciate. Everyone in the family loved it.

We were looking for tea and treats, and this bakery definitely has treats! First thing we noticed was a ring on the outside wall... a place for tieing up your dog! Upon entering, we noticed the fragrances of a good bakery. There are artisan bread loaves on the wall, and quite a lot of window cabinets full of baked goods. We each chose two items, even though they are large; they all look so good! I tried a date bar, and a salted caramel bar. No disappointment there! My friends had Nanaimo bar, and an Ecceles thing (of course!), a cream filled Canolli, and last but not least a Raspberry Almond Twist. (excuse my spelling) The beverages are okay, but the baked goods are Exceptional! Glad we found you, Fratelli!

over rated nothing special. I was looking for a strawberry shortcake for my wedding and decided to give this place a try. The cream was not fresh, super dense and the cake itself was dry. And I even asked them what what was the recommended item to get here and they mentioned the cannoli and honestly nothing great...same cream used for the cakes, the pastry was good but nothing special for 2 cannoli and a slice of cake it came up to be $20! Pricey for what you get

Would probably give it 3.5 stars if I could. We've tried lots of the tiny pastries and some have definitely been too dense, too dry, or too sweet - and occasionally all of the above. That said, there are treats here that we do often go back for when the mood strikes - and always on a Saturday due to their super early closing times on weekdays. The palmiers, mini fruit tarts, cannolis, chocolate eclairs, and some of the breakfast pastries (like the cherry Danish and the chocolate croissant) are our favorite things here. Might try their famous St. Honoree cake some day just to see what all the fuss is about. Overall, I find the prices to be a bit steep for the portions (and occasional lack of quality control) but it's probably good to not be eating a tonne of dessert all at once anyway, so it's still worth dropping in for the occasional treat fix.

I had previously said: "One of the best bakeries in the lower mainland, not just New West." ...now, while I still think they are a 4 star shop and produce some very good items, I've run into more quality control issues and so I'm not so sure they can be called the best anymore. For eclairs and goods like that, there aren't any other places I can recommend that are specifically better unless you are willing to travel long distances. For that reason it is still 4 stars, but the quality is slipping in terms of freshness overall and they should keep an eye on that.

A co-worker heard about the store for a work place birthday event. After viewing the web page, ordered Hazelnut Torte over the phone and picked up next morning. Everyone liked it. I just can't say enough good things about Fratelli, I've been into both locations but since they opened in NW that's where I've been more frequently. On my recent visit to stock up for Christmas I wanted Chocolate dipped shortbread. They were out... and it was Saturday morning... and there was a line of 6 people ordering. Instead of saying, "no we don't have any" they said "can you give me 15 minutes and we'll make you some!" That's the kind of extra service you can expect from the staff at Fratelli Bakery. I bought a tuxedo cake and was really looking forward to trying it. We had the cake that same day in the evening. The cake looked great but tasted horrible. The cake was dry and stale and completely over cooked. The bovarian cream taste like instant pudding. Spent quite a lot of money on this cake and no one wants to eat more than a few bites. Unfortunately most of it will be going into the compost bin :(

Poor quality, poor service. Bought an expensive Tosca cake for a friends family celebration. The cake was dry, not fresh. Both kids (20 and 16) were the firs to try and the first to say it was awful. Embarrassing, awkward. I called to complain the next day and no apology, zero customer service, told the owner would call me back. Instead, same person called me back and told me to bring in the cake. What?!? I left it at my friends house, well you can’t have a refund without it. Not that we don’t believe you but.... I asked for the owner to call me back. Same story, no apology, bring in the cake. Geez...I drive back to langley, sheepishly collect cake that was about to be binned and drive to new west to return. Again...barely any recognition that the seller should be responsible for an old, crummy cake. She then revealed that the cakes are frozen!!!! And brought out as needed. No wonder they are dried out. This directly contradictsthe owner saying they are made fresh. Sigh

got a big ! bon-bon cake for my mom's 71 birthday celebration...we all thought this is way too sweet....way too much sugar and chalky texture...sorry to say this, but now is my mothers 72 birthday and i gonna just order a simple mocha cake from a different small bakery in town...i specified less sugar....and its gonna be less expensive too, if your a munja-cake you will be satisfied, but traditional italian family would be expecting top quality for these prices...unfortunately when any business is simply "too busy"......they just do not have the time to care and attention to deliver superlative quality

I ordered a 12" cake based on the positive reviews. When I ordered I explained that I would be on a tight schedule and the cake needed to be ready for pick up at 9:30 am, I then called the day before explaining once again that i would be there at opening and on a very tight schedule and for them to please have the cake ready to go. Well they were not ready, in fact they did not even have a box ready! it took them 15 minutes to box our cake, I had to tell them 5 times I was in a hurry! Then the woman was VERY rude to me. If that was not bad enough the cake was horrible; it was over baked and this huge 12" cake was made up of tiny pieces of cake so every time the bride cut into the cake the pieces would tumble out all over the table! Can you imagine paying $150 for a 12" cake that cannot even be sliced? I suspect the sheet cake was over cooked and they cut off what the could then used a tiny pieces of cake to form a 12" circle. Really? That is what you do for a "specialty" cake.

I was in here today and purchased a loaf of gourmet bread among other items. When the server handed me the wrapped loaf, I felt it was rock hard. I mentioned it and she said it’s a baguette. Crispy outside and soft inside. I squeezed it and it was ROCK hard. I asked if I could change the order and she said no. Last time I pay almost $6 for day old bread! Disappointing as their goods are usually good.

We usually order from here, special for our big events like weddings, baptism, communions etc. Our family has been ordering from them for way over 25yrs. There cakes and pastries always taste and look great. Reason I am giving it 2 stars ( this is for there new Westminster location) when I ordered for a 40th birthday I called and the girl who answered told me that she couldn't take my order and to call the commercial drive location. She said it very rudely. I called the other location and placed my order. Then I called again to order a cake for my mom's 60th and called the commercial drive location and was told to call the new Westminster location. I told them what had happened last time and they told me just to give them a call. Called the New Westminster location they took my order and I asked them for some decoration. I asked them to put some daisies but to make it a bit simple (mom is not very fancy when it comes to that) I explained to the girl exactly how I wanted it and ask if I needed to send a picture. She said no need for a picture we will do it. When I picked it up the day of our event I was mortified. The cake looked awful. The daisies didn't look like daisies and it just looked like I went to Safeway and got a cake from them. I was paying extra for the decorations. The girl said the only thing she could do was not charge me for decoration but that was it. I took the cake having no choice but I wouldn't order from them again. The cake was ok, but not as good as we expected.It's too bad that their services have gone down.

Terrible customer service. I ordered a cake on Tuesday for my father's birthday party on the following Saturday. On Friday at 3:00, I receive a call from the bakery stating that they would be unable to make my cake, and offered me a flan instead (how does a flan substitute a birthday cake??). I wouldn't trust them with any custom cake orders; my order was only slightly customized and they weren't able to deliver, nevermind the fact that they waited until the day before to tell me...I definitely don't have time to order a custom cake from anywhere else either...

Considering the cost of them and $15 for a banana loaf! One would expect extraordinary flavour and freshness.

Loved this place for the cakes but the last couple times the cakes were wet inside. The cakes are frozen and decorated when needed. One occasion they messed up the writing on the cake then scraped the icing off to correct it and made a huge mess of the cake and expected me to pay for it. No thanks. You would expect better service and quality for the premium priced cakes.

I usually go to the store on commercial drive but I was out near the other one so I went there.spent over $150.00...when I got back to my hotel and had a piece of the red velvet, the first bight instantly knew it was rather stale so was the almond square..the apple and cherry turn overs were fresh ...I was very disappointed and will stick with the commercial drive store in the future

I spent $100 on a Tuxedo Cake and it was extremely disappointing in everyway. The cake fell apart when I was cutting it and looked like mush when I offered it to my guests. Most guests turned down the mush cake and those that took a piece left most of it on their plate. I threw out plate after plate of unfinished cake. The cake had virtually no flavour. I order Tuxedo Cakes all the time so know that flavour can exist. Besides having no flavour, the bakery didn't even follow my customer request. I was charged extra for my requests and the bakery didn't even bother to implement them. All in all my granddaughter's first cake was not what I requested or paid for. I'll be shopping elsewhere.

My "go to" place for beautiful cakes and pastries! May be a little more expensive than some places, but worth it for the quality. Staff is friendly and helpful, they want you to be satisfied. Downsides (New West location)-very little parking, closed Sundays and Mondays.
