I love the pastries, soups, and the vibe. It’s a good place for small gatherings, casual meetings and having dates. The sandwiches are good but not filling that much. What I don’t like is the prices!

Olga Lissey

Amazing interior, great coffee and very unique pasties. I also enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and chic French style!

Angel Clemente-Jones

The best macaron and tea shop in Vancouver. If you go for lunch try their sandwiches - they are excellent too. Get an Opera Tea Latte - you can thank me later.

Andrea CC

Blueberry tart is fresh, but Americano misto is ok. Good place for groups and visitors if you want a quick bite. A little bit pricey and crowded!

Timothy Bee

Very delicious and reasonably priced. We had a great breakfast here. They are the friendliest people and very helpful in finding something you’ll enjoy. The place is clean, nicely decorated, and very tasty.

Bob

These people are always great ????. We had pain au Chocolat, which we had tried at the competition yesterday. Here they are fresh light and flakey. Not too much chocolate, but not to little. WOW! And good service, lots of staff, and they all appeared covid conscious. Stop in and support this wonderful Cafe so they can be here for us in the future. It is important!

Nidhi Sharma

It’s a perfect place for an afternoon tea or coffee with a cake or pastry. Their outdoor patio is fabulous, I go their to take a quick coffee break from a busy day at work. Their lunch options are also good and healthy.

Heather J

We may have time travelled to Paris.... Paris in the middle of Vancouver is what you will find here. A cute little cafe with side walk seating, fresh baguettes, sandwiches, crossiants, and macaroons. And don't forget about the amazing espresso.

Jane Son

My first time I visit today. Very clean and nice place to go for coffee and snack. The snadwiches are really amazing. And they bake all the bread freshly. I would love to visit there again!

Neill M

Excellent cafe with delicious treats! The sandwiches are melt in your mouth delicious, lattes of frothy goodness and a very clean, well kept establishment. Conveniently located in central downtown so it makes a great stop if you would like to treat yourself well in between a visit to the art gallery, shopping or sight-seeing.

Jessica J.

Right across the Vancouver art gallery, great place to take a lite bite before your visit

Marc L. Dauchez

The smell of the freshly baked baguette and fresh coffee are just delightful. But the French accent of employees is a must. Great place, fantastic products. Go for the baguette and macaron

Mockie

Really lush pastries, good coffee and nice, swanky atmosphere. Don't expect a cheap treat with a coffee though because the swanky vibes come at a price. Go here for brunch with your mam or something like that

Louisa

The pastries are scrumptious & the tea lattes are definitely delicious, but for the price VS what you get, it's a treat yourself event. Like others have mentioned, most of the staff don't have great customer service & there are a lot of tables which need to be cleared. The pictures aren't as clear but between the 2, there are 7 tables that haven't been cleaned. I brushed off the crumb of the table I sat at myself. There is more than enough staff that there shouldn't be so many tables waiting to be cleaned as they're just having conversations with each other/patrons. Really disappointing considering the pastries & beverages are lovely.

The Faubourg Coffee Shop is located on Hornby Street downtown Vancouver, which is right across the street from Vancouver Arts Gallery. My friends took me to there couple times to try a different kind of desserts. The place is nice quiet. The servers were friendly and helpful. The desserts look great and have different presentation. They all tasted different from each other. I love this place.

Young Joe

What an over-priced, over-rates tourist trap! This tiny tiny mediocre quiche is almost $12 after tax and tip.

Darlene Wong

Came by with my sister for an afternoon dessert break after shopping at Old Navy. I ordered a lovely lemon curd tart with a meringue center. It was a beauty to behold and it did not disappoint. The lemon curd was tart and offset with just enough sweetness in the meringue center, all encased within a delicate cookie shell base. My sister ordered a matcha dusted mousse with a passion fruit gelee center above a coco nib sponge base. It was topped by an adorable lady bug garnish too! We chose our favorite flavours of tea to wash it all down. C'est magnifique! We were not disappointed by our choices. The French and the Japanese are similar in sharing the same philosophy in regards to food-- we eat with our eyes as well as our mouths. Presentation is everything. Parisian cafe style seating with small round tables and matching chairs. Order, pay and pickup at the front counter with drinks called when ready for pick up. Prices appear to be a bit more than your typical coffee shop but what they deliver in pastries far exceeds what you'd elsewhere except in similar cafes like Thierry's. French pastries are meant to be savoured. Its quality over quantity.

Sal Kay

EXTREMELY CROWDED! Even for prior to COVID. Filthy toilets. They definitely need a make over and better management. All this aside Pasty items is above average. But again way should they care when there is not one single European cafe in a short walking distance other than the art Gallery Cafe.

Banafsheh Afshar

A little pricey but good quality coffee and French pastries. But careful about your choices of pastries, they are sometimes gorgeous rather than tasty!

David Greer

Fabulous place in the centre of town. Stopped by for afternoon coffee and a lemon tart with my wife on a cold February afternoon. Nice inviting space. Coffee is excellent. Tart was delicious. There was an inviting selection of sandwiches if we had come for lunch. The staff said that the basket selection was so low because they sold out of many things they had out in the morning. Come give it a try.

This is a cute and chic cafe in downtown vancouver. It’s a nice place for hangout because of the nice decoration inside. It also has a patio in front of Vancouver Art Gallery which is nice. It’s a french cafe so they have different exciting kinds of pastry and baked goods. Although french bakeries are famous for their macarons I don’t recommend the macarons here.

Gérald LONLAS

Good place for a French breakfast. The caramel macchiato is awesome, foamy cream full of caramel, nothing to add. The croissant and chocolatine are very good, especially when they are just out of the oven. Macarons and patisseries look gorgeous. The price is good for a fancy coffee. A good address

annemarie den harder

Had a delicious lunch! You can choose between four sorts of bread and different dressings. They make it fresh for you and toast it. They also have good and decent coffee and a large indoor seating area.

Shraddha Kangutkar

I was disappointed in the quality of macarons that they offer. They are too sweet and too crunchy. The coffee and croissant were really great. The service of the staff though is disappointing.

Flora Wu

Huge selection of baked goods. Tried the cheese and ham croissant, almond croissant, chocolate croissant, and two of the macarons. All in all, taste was good (not too sweet, except for the macarons), it is pretty standard between most of the bakery though, nothing extraordinary.

Igor

Great choice of macaroons, a few tasty sandwiches and definitely coffee better than in other places

Reza M

Best place for a healthy and amazing breakfast and lunch. Croissants, specially the almond ones are simply the best.

Kateryna Melnykova

Very French-y place. Pros: Beautiful design, awesome London Fog - I haven't tried their espresso yet, the best cake I've ever tried (see photo below). Another pro is tge location. Cons: may be a bit noisy and busy.

Vera Bobko

Came here for breakfast and this cafe a little bit disappointed us. We ordered and main dish and dessert, but we got firstly sweets and coffee. After coffee became cold -main dishes arrived. Waiter didn’t alert us all dishes (crepes, quiche) come with salad. And we ended up asking to pack salad to go is it was tooooo much! The most disappointed thing was totally stall (old= not fresh ) macaroons. Green passion fruit dessert on photo was delicious.

Heidi J.

If you want to try a French cafe in Vancouver, this is the place! We had breakfast on our anniversary here and everything was very delicious - the coffee, the pastry and the breakfast croissants - everything! ????????

Bernie Bogner - Realtor Vancouver

My favorite place for real croissants and maccarons like you would only get them in France and surrounding European countries. The place is a real Caffè with European flair and everything they sell reminds me very much of Paris. This is not just a coffee shop with some pastries. I very much like the beautiful European store design.

Braeden Peterson

Wonderful little coffee shop in the heart of Vancouver. It has a pleasant atmosphere with a lot of sitting room, both indoor and on their patio. Their coffee was perfectly crafted and they had great customer service.

Karen

Hazelnut stuff on the menu now! So tasty ????

sara 5676

Was walking by and spotted this cafe. Wanted to just take a quick look around and leave. The display case smelled amazing and the interior looked so cute and I couldn't leave without trying something, so I got one of their sandwiches with a traditional baguette. I'm glad I stayed, because the sandwich was delicious. The sandwich was generously filled with fresh ingredients. The freshly toasted baguette was amazing. And with a nice cup of tea, I was in bliss.

Tony Tran

Such a beautiful Parisian cafe. The interiors so nice and elegant. Great place for a coffee outing or a place to read your nove. I love the almond croissant here, probably the best in town! Staffs are very polite.

Roopa Reddy

I never write a review unless I'm extremely impressed or extremely disappointed. Unfortunately it's the latter here. staff have no reciprocity for any thank yous. I usually get a "get out of my face I've work to do" attitude. Been here for 3 different occasions and was served by different staff with the same attitude. Very sad excuse for customer service. Not going back

Marishka Smirnova

Tasty dessert, but nothing special. Too dry...My friend liked very much London Fog tea though.

Amy Man

Had the breakfast sandwich set for $9. The cashier is either new or too nervous. She did not follow what I said for two times. The coffee was hot and tasted great. The croissant sandwich with egg and ham (or cheese croissant) was so good that made my day... A slice of tomato within kicked the tastes so good...

Qutaibah Alotaibi

Very poor service. First they serve the coffee (black. Nothing special)without the macarons which is literally next to where they serve the coffee! Then when I asked for different coffee because mine got cold while waiting for the macarons, I was told to wait by the end of the line. After I complained to the manager, the barista talked back to me (unprovoked!! I didn’t even talk to him!!!) saying it was my fault that my coffee went cold. Went back to the manager referring to the barista’s accusation. She replied that she “trust” her barista! So it was my mistake!!! Black coffee and Macarons! Next to each other but not served together!!! Tip should been asked after service not before!

We walked by Faubourg on Hornby Street and saw all the delicious pastries with beautiful presentations. We were very excited to try some and order a beverage. We ordered a dish of afternoon tea trio. They were matcha black sesame, caramel rooibos torte and chai cake. We also ordered an iced chocolate milk. When we drank the iced chocolate milk, it tasted like the Dairyland chocolate milk or worse. We felt this iced chocolate milk was just bland that it was not strong enough like the one I had at Thomas Haas. We were not sure if the ice made the chocolate milk bland or worse, but the flavour was not strong enough. It definitely lost some marks on the flavour. We tried all three pieces of cakes. All of them had great presentation and looked beautiful, but we only tasted the sweet flavour but nothing else. Comparing these cakes or pastries from Faubourg with ones I had at Ganache Patisserie, Ganache's were definitely a winner! I personally feel that both the beverage and pastries that I tried could have a lot of improvements; and it would be a good idea to go to the competitors and try their beverages and pastries in order to stay competitive in the market.

aashini kaushik

I ordered a tiramisu for my parents anniversary via skipthedishes and I was expecting a very a good cake coz I have had their macaroons at work and they were great. But sadly it was not the best. And I have had lots of tiramisu all over Vancouver since I love tiramisu a lot and I keep trying different places. It tasted a bit stale and dry. Tiramisu is always very moist and loaded with espresso syrup. This was like a dry sponge cake with icing. It did not taste like tiramisu. Although the icing was good. But I guess I shouldn't have ordered an Italian dessert from a Parisian bakery.

Harneet Chand

Super busy. Coffee was good. Macarons were not too bad. I am not a huge fan in general but I actually liked the Tahitian Vanilla.

Bev S

Best baguettes! You may want to eat your baguette in one sitting. Cakes and pastries to die for. Got the little individual servings of tirimisu, lemon tart, creme brulee and cheese cake for a friend's birthday. Perfect for a special occasion or when you just need a treat.

Melanie Y

Great covered patio with heaters and well spaced tables. Tried their sandwiches, soup, quiche, pastries, and coffee. Good quality, simple, and wholesome. Food came quickly and service was friendly. There is a bit of construction noise but that's to be expected in downtown Vancouver.

R

If you want to break a tooth eating a Really hard baguette. Then order the Cajun chicken sandwich.

Bijan Markazi

Great authentic French pastries and chocolate. Big selection of deserts, breads, drinks, and sandwiches. Staff are very kind and will recommend different things for you. Clean facilities and washroom, and it’s great that they also have outdoor seating so you can enjoy the beautiful weather.

Mockie

Really lush pastries, good coffee and nice, swanky atmosphere. Don't expect a cheap treat with a coffee though because the swanky vibes come at a price. Go here for brunch with your mam or something like that

M Ping

Enjoyed sampling all my treats, but quality doesn't really justify the steep prices.

Peter Au

Love this place for a afternoon tea or coffee with a cake or pastry. With an outdoors patio. Cake is fabulous. Ice latte tastes good. Lavender Tea latte is lovely. Got some macaroons to go. Like them very much.

Richard G.

I tried their caramel macchiato and it really like it. The blueberry tart is very tasty. I enjoyed sitting at their patio outside as they have outdoor heater on. The indoor sitting is very nice setup and I guess that's why their cost is on the pricier side.

Nuri OHN

Little France is here. Bakery and coffee are so great.

Terumi Pong

First time eating at this chic cafe across the street from the Vancouver Art Gallery. The lunch special of quiche and salad was decently priced. Coffee had pretty art and pastries are beautiful and tasty. Love the chandeliers in this cafe-they add nice ambiance.

Anonymous Rabbit

Nice dessert cafe to check out after dinner! I recommend everyone to try out their Green Tea Passion Fruit Mousse! Sweet and Sour at the same time if you're into that sort of stuff :).

Azin Ehsan

Unfortunately, my experience hasn’t been to my satisfaction. The last few visits have been nightmarish! The patio was dirty: food crumbs everywhere: on the floor and tables. Birds were eating off the plates after customers left the place. The tables were not cleaned immediately after a customer left. Recently, I’ve had to use my own alcohol wipes to clean my table! It seems that the place is understaffed. It’s a pity!

Alisa M.

The macaroons are good but not really fond of the desserts. I had the chocolate Eue Claire found it way too rich compared to others I've tried at local dessert shops. Coffee was good and there are a lot of places to sit down plus a patio area which is nice! Staff were very friendly.

Heidi J.

Wally Muzlantov

This is a very busy cafe and they have pastries and cakes. If you do not want these you can also have different baguettes. Try the Prosciutto and brie baguette as it is delicious and fresh . There was a queue right back to the door but you did get served quite quick and did not have to wait too long ,maybe under 2 minutes. You can have your meal indoors or if you like can have it outdoors to enjoy the fresh air.

Mouneir Saadeldine

I love it so yams so clean restaurant the food amazing

Roshan parsi

Pastries, (almost all I have tried) were beautiful! But coffee was moderate ... As I am sweet lover, this cafe has been there in my favorite list ...

Lauren Wong

Faubourg is my favourite dessert place downtown Vancouver. It's so cute, it's close to transit & they have a good variety of delicious snacks! My favourites are the green tea pastry and the lemon tart (so tangy!)

Gurv

Visited Faubourg today and was very disappointed by the food. There was a French fella who helped me and he was really nice and friendly, which is why I went 3 stars. The quality of the food was really low compared to other bakeries in Vancouver.

Don Adlam

A great little place for an unexpectedly cheap breakfast in the Vancouver hotel district. 8.95 for a very great coffee and a perfect breakfast sandwich on a gorgeous croissant. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a cosy atmosphere, and very prompt service. If you are staying at any of the big hotels and don't care to pay $20.00 dollars of more for breakfast then this is the place to come.

Laura Perez

Yesterday I had breakfast at Faubourg for the first time, and the experience was amazing. It is the perfect site to take a break and disconnect while drinking a good tea and eatting a good French 'palmier'. All staff was helpfull (too many delicious options, very difficult to make a decision!), and very nice, specially the cashier. The food and teas are awesome. I will definitely repeat!!

Lu Yao

we went 7:30am to get fresh croissant, thinking if this is proper bakery, they will have croissant freshly made. Well they were definitely not. I guess this shop gets good reviews because the overall bakery standards in Vancouver are pretty low. This type of croissant, even when it's fresh, can probably only survive in a non-picky English neighbourhood in Montreal, definitely not a remote chance in France. The only bonus is that at least they open somewhat early compared to other so-called bakeries nearby.

bianca pers

Lovee the atmosphere. Cozy and not expensive yet still attractive. Lovely drink options, not too much seating and always busy, wonderful pastry options. Favorite spot for sure.

Afsheen Mirza

Ordered a cake here for the first time and needed it very soon! I called and was helped by the staff who were very kind and helpful. Picked up my cake the next day and everyone was so friendly and again helpful. The cake was beautiful, delicious and exactly as described! I will definitely be back :)

John lee

They cancelled my cake order 24 hours before scheduled pickup time, with a cold nondescript auto reply email. I then checked with them to see if it was a mistake. Then after 14 hours, they emailed me saying my credit card failed risk evaluation and that's why it's cancelled. I ordered the cake 4 days in advance and they really took their time to check my card. So, now I have to run around and look for a makeshift cake last minute for the party tonight. Thanks Faubourg for screwing up my life and my nephew's birthday.

Celina Mir.

Nice people. Ambient is nice. Good quality of products

Paulina K

Very cute cafe across the Vancouver Art Gallery. I had the latte with soy milk which was incredible. Would for sure come again.

Some of the best pastries around. The almond croissant has honey drizzled on top and is decadent. This location relies on tourists to stay busy (right next to the Fairmont downtown) so support local and come have a great sweet and coffee at the same time!

Herry Dai

Strong buttery aroma permeating the shop.

Heather J

We may have time travelled to Paris.... Paris in the middle of Vancouver is what you will find here. A cute little cafe with side walk seating, fresh baguettes, sandwiches, crossiants, and macaroons. And don't forget about the amazing espresso.

Barbara Smith

Absolutely fabulous pastries! The sandwiches and crepes are very good as well. I found my crepe a little to heavy on cream cheese but I will not short stars based on that cause I can reduce it and that's my personal preference. I do wish the sandwiches were a little more customizable and or had more options but again I get the reasons behind it and there is certainly no flaw in what they serve. Service is friendly and quick. I will be back as often as possible and I recommend to everyone that will listen.

Sabal Al-Khateeb

Delicious pastries. Croissant was nice crispy & flakey on the outside and gooey & delicious on the inside

Lesley Pierce

Service is always friendly. Pastries, lunches and coffees are delicious and a special treat. I am so thankful that you have remained safely opened during the pandemic.

Goldwyn Tong

Excellent patisserie. We especially love the macarons. This location is less cozy than the Kerrisdale shop but still a great place to stop by for a coffee and a snack.

Gabriele Nandal

Delicious pistachio chocolate croissant! However their macarons are dry and crispy. Avoid those and just get their pastries.

Jessica

I went there today after work around 4:30pm and decided to treat myself for a ham and cheese croissant. Only one left on the display and I asked the cashier to warm it up for me. I tried croissants at many difference place and for me this is one of the worst. Texture wise was very poor, looked like store bought croissant. Very crumbly however it has the very generous fillings with cheese inside but for me it was way too overpowering. A bit disappointed and I don’t think am coming back anytime soon.

mesra malik

Staff we got was rude AF. We went june 6 at 11:40 AM. This was my first time coming here and I had to see how to order. She was rushing me through the whole process even though there was NO ONE ELSE IN LINE. Kept asking me what I wanted for filling when I was trying to read the sign. Then what dressing like 3 times. I even told her I was trying to decide! Then she looked annoyed. Will never come back again.

Mahshid Z

I gave a review “Very nice bread.” With 5 stars in 2018 to this coffee shop. Now it is time to revisit: I got a chocolate hazelnut Croissant. Too sweet, too oily, not even close to be called a ”French” baked good! 6.25 bucks!! Really? In case you are out of options, I suggest ONLY try their bread hoping it is still the same quality. I would not know that since I am now too disappointed to consider coming back.

Rawane Alzahed

I’m usually always in for their chicken cajun sandwich but not today! Was so dry, tasted like those chickens they serve on airplanes!

Mehr Poulad

Great little coffee shop with a nice outdoor space. Located across from the art gallery. Beautiful decor inside with plenty of seating. Americano was strong, the way I like it. Prices are a little high. $5.35 for the almond croissant.

Jessica Z

Almond croissant is very fluffy. Yuzu Mango cake is stunning.

Very nice cafe with a Parisian-style menu and a nice set of goodies. A very good place to relax in.

Staff are very friendly and place is always clean. Love visiting when I'm downtown.
