First time customer and definitely a repeat!! Ordered one of the Sicilian Lemon Torte cakes for my father's 60th birthday this weekend and OMG it was amazing. Fair prices, very elegant appearance and delicious product.

After reading great reviews, I decided to try a few things from here. I got a slice of lemon cake. It was too sweet for me, but my partner liked it. The chocolate raspberry cake was kind of bland and nothing special. The chocolate and vanilla cupcakes had hard frosting. It was a 5 minute drive from the cake shop to my place, and I ate it right away so I'm not sure why the frosting's texture is hard. We both agreed that the cheese and chives scone was dry and a bit stale. Unfortunately, we are not overly impressed with the quality.

We ordered the Belgian Raspberry cake and it was divine. Light, moist and delicious. We came in from out of town and ordered this cake online in advance. The cake exceeded our expectations. Staff were great when we picked it up and the shop looks very cute.

I generally do not give five stars because I believe it's hard to attain the perfection. But for cakes, it's hard not to give them the five stars because these were some of the best cakes I have ever tasted in my life. It melts in your mouth and having tried many of their different flavours, it's always consistent. The staff do try and accommodate any requests to the best of their ability and very pleasing. The best place in Victoria for cakes in my opinion and I have been lured into being a regular customer.

Lovely pleasant staff working at the front. Fruit melody cake was fresh and tasted good. I was disappointed that the oat crumble was packed around the top edge like a border and there wasnt as much fruit as the display cakes and in the other customer pictures.

Very disappointing customer service. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years. I just tried to order a cake for my daughters birthday and they now require prepayment. I offered to pay via Amex or etransfer (I don’t have visa or MasterCard) and they flat out said no. They wanted me to drive in and pay 1hr each way today and then again tomorrow to pickup the cake, it’s a $30 cake!!! Extremely cold on the phone, no exceptions. My daughter will be crushed. I didn’t realize a small Victoria cake company would be so harsh and enforce a very new policy like this on a long term customer. If they had better customer records they would have seen I have boughten 3 cakes a year for the past 10 years and never failed to pickup. I’ll never give them my business again.

If you place an order through them, don't expect it to be ready..I have placed orders days ahead and they were not ready. Not sure where they get the products they use and what they do with them. I get asked to wait an hour for something to get baked when I have to take the products somewhere... these are things that shouldn't happen and they do nothing to fix it.

Wonderful, high quality cakes. Not one of those " two sheets of thick sponge with super sweet frosting in the middle". They were complex with varying layers that compliment each other. I was looking for a Tort type of cake and this exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend the Fruit Melody and Cakes etc.

A bit of a strange location because they're found in this industrial area surrounded by construction and other labor etc just off of government and hillside. The store itself is neat and the bakers/cashiers were very friendly and helped me choose cupcakes for a going away lunch! Not many gluten free options but some key good ones like a cake and coconut/almond bars! Cupcakes looked like a work of art and tasted amazing!!

Tried to order a 30 baked goods based on the online prices for a budget of $52 and was quoted 30% higher than the online prices. When I asked about the online prices they told me they "weren't updated yet" so the online prices were wrong and it was going to be the 30% higher that was quoted. Needless to say I cancelled my order. I've had their baked goods and cakes before and they're really yummy so the customer service was pretty upsetting.

Delicious, beautifully artistic cakes. This is where I go for top quality desserts. From amazing wedding cakes lavishly adorned with fresh flowers (as was mine) to make that romantic statement, to fresh, fun seasonal offerings - this is the place. When I need to spoil someone for a special birthday this is who I depend on. For weddings or office celebrations this bakery has everything from stacked cakes, layered (and delicious!) slab cakes as well as artful, light and delicious cupcakes and squares decorated to perfection. I can't say enough about Cakes Etc. Top notch service and expertise that you can trust! I am so happy to have them here in Victoria!

Unfortunately, the service is horrendous at this bakery. I used cakes Etc for my mini wedding cakes. After two visits on separate Saturdays, I was told to call in during the week to make my order. When I called in, I was told to come in again! They were unable to tell me how many of their mini cakes could fit on their tiered stand!! After emails and phone calls to confirm my order and stand , I placed my order. On Saturday May 5th my groom-to-be kindly picked up the order. I received a call that the staff had mistakenly forgot to give him the full order and asked if I wanted to be credited! No, he was sent back to collect the remaining order. Upon his return I found out he was not provided with the stand! I called and the staff new nothing about it! They had to look for the stand and I had to send my man back to pick it up! Unacceptable! Most weddings occur on Saturdays and this is no way to treat customers!

I am not impressed at this point. I used to get all of my edible images here but as of late the last one that I got was not on par. I was not going to say anything until it didn't taste right. I have received no response other then ... well the image doesn't do well with cold weather. I have bought about 5 per year from them and rhus one had no backing and thw lettering was off. I didn't say anything because it was the first "mistake" but after it not feelimg thw same and not tasting rhe same I needed to say something. Their customer service sucks now and I will find somewhere else to go at this point.

I'm not sure where to start, though my rating probably says it all. Website was easy to use and ordering my cake was no problem. Picked my cake up in their cute store and had to resist buying everything I saw. I purchased the vanilla white chocolate raspberry cake and was not disappointed. I'm not really a cake person, most are way too sweet and dry. This cake was neither of those, very light and moist (yes I said moist....moooiiissssttt for all who cringe at the word ????????) all around a very delectable cake, a great end to the party. Okay I'm done rambling, I 100% love the cake as you can see from the pictures. Worth it and will definitely stop in again for other treats.

Cakes Etc is my go-to-place whenever I want to get a cake. Love all cakes and baked treats from the store, but I decided to try something new for my husband's birthday. We ordered a Classic New Your Cheesecake...it was very disappointing! We picked it up on Saturday afternoon and kept in the fridge till the birthday celebration on Sunday. The cake was soggy and the saltiness overpowers other taste. It was too sweet and salty and nothing like a cheesecake. And a pool of gooey liquid form sit at the bottom of the cake. Not pretty at all! Sadly, nobody finished their cake. I will go back to my usual, but NO CHEESECAKE from Cakes Etc again!!

We ordered for our Christmas party a cookie platter and a festive petite platter. Actually, we are fans from Cakes etc. we really love their cakes, but this time the quality and the taste were far away from good, it was just horrible. The petite tasted not fresh, actually, they tasted really old. I wished I had bought my cookies from Walmart, I am sure that had been a better choice. I paid over $100 for that and I am very disappointed.

Although some would say this Bakery is too expensive, we find that you get what you pay for. In this case, you pay for Real, local ingredients, and the most Beautiful Cakes in the City of Victoria! Not only Cakes, but, Scones, fantastic Shortbread, Cake Bars, Oat Bars, Cupcakes and way more! Order 24 hrs in advance, or just pop in and puck up a treat or sustaining Bakery bite ! Fresh, delicious, and so pleasing to the eye.

Absolute worst customer service i have ever received. They told me to come in one week before my wedding to order a one tiered naked cake. Being organized i came in two weeks early and they refused to do it as their policy changed in december. I had an email from them dec 28 confirming they would do it. They said no still. I asked why noone replied to my email they said they were probably waiting for me to come in to tell me. Absolutely unacceptable to use this excuse. I will never order from them again because of this. The right thing to do would be honour the email. Two weeks between the email confirmation and me attempting to order is not acceptable for them to refuse. If i had waited until the week before i would have had no cake for my wedding. I have waited two weeks to post this review to give them time to apologize or myself to cool off. I am still furious. Strongly advise against this company. The service is not worth it.

I typically don't like anything cake-based, especially chocolate cake. This is the only place that has ever changed that opinion. They do such an amazing job, you can tell they take their time with each cake, often with 12-14 layers in each cake! I exclusively get Cakes Etc. And those close to me know I won't eat cake on my birthday unless it's from here! Aside from just cakes, though, they have delicious tarts (lemon zing and the raspberry one mouth watering!) And their plates, mugs and bowls are adorable! I put mine on display on floating shelves at home.

I was unsure what to order, and the staff were able to help me decide a cake, the coconut mango, that pleased everyone at my friends birthday party. The cake itself was superb, and I recommend it to all. The staff were nice and patient with me, even though I was so indecisive with my order. Would happily go back for future parties and other events.

Great cakes, but terrible customer service. I called last week to order a 8" inch cake for an office party. They asked me when I would like to pick up, and I stated 8 a.m. pick up as the office party started at 9. At no point did the woman I speak to tell me that cake pick ups are from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. (if I knew that I would have picked up day before). When I came in the woman at the front counter was INCREDIBLY rude to me. She told me I would have to come back at 10 a.m. as they were busy and my cake wasn't ready. I explained that I was told on the phone when I ordered that an 8 a.m. pick up was okay, and that I had no means to be able to return to their bakery at 10 a.m. that day. She told me that whoever told me that an 8 a.m. pickup was okay lied to me and implied it was someone from my office who lied to me (although I am the one who placed the order) as they would not have told me that. They eventually decided that they could whip it up for me, but I'd have to wait (which was fine by me). The whole time the woman at the front counter whined about how I was inconveniencing them because they are really busy and they were especially busy today. They never once apologized for THEIR mistake, instead blaming me the whole time. When I tried to say thank you for rushing the cake for me, the woman snapped that it wasn't ready yet as they still needed to sort their payment error (they overcharged me), and when I left she coldly yelled "CHEERS!". Don't worry Cakes Etc.! There are loads of other bakeries in town and if you're so busy and my patronage is an inconvenience to you, I'll be more than happy to take my business elsewhere. It is absolutely unacceptable that is how your staff treat your customers.
