I think that this is a great neighborhood coffee shop with good diversity of pastries but tbh from where I'm from, Portugal, we have much better pastries!! So I was wondering if I opened a pastry shop in Vancouver, if it would be the best in the city!! Nonetheless this is a great spot for hanging out, study, go on a date and just chill in their heated patio. I recommend.

A great 24/7 place to study and casual meetups (not ideal for dating) with a wide variety of choices for pastries and foods. Foods are mostly sandwiches (I recommend breakfast bagel, Mediterranean chicken, and smoked meat Montreal). The pastries are freshly baked inside the store and the quality is pretty acceptable. It's "What you can see is what you get" meaning there is no menu that you can order from. Usually, it's always crowded and hard to find seats if you are a group looking for a table. The coffee taste is sour which is not my preference. It's hard to find parking spots around and the ones you can find on Robson street are pretty expensive. Last note: Your clothes will absorb all the food smell inside the store so I don't recommend to wear wool clothing.

A fantastic neighbourhood bakery and cafe, that is open 24/7, that is amazing in a city where everything closes by 1 am. The choices of fresh baked goods, sandwiches and desserts are scrumptious. There are lots of seatings outside on the no-traffic street. The coffee is divine, try a hazelnut mocha and a breakfast sandwich for a filling and memorable lunch. I love the gluten-free peanut butter cookies too. The service is fast and efficient, the place is big and airy, reminds me of a high-end Kuala Lumpur Bakery and Cafe. And the price is so affordable, I love that you can still find a place to enjoy fresh made, quality ingredients place for the price. Love this neighbourhood, plenty of shopping around, quiet, tree lined side streets.

We came here on a late windy night. There is a large selection of pastries and they all look very fresh, and the prices were fair too. I bought some cookies and granola, which all tasted good, and not too sweet. There is patio seating, but it closes at 11PM. However, there are tables and chairs for public use right outside, a great place to enjoy a cool night and under the beautiful trees with decorative lights. If you like to hang out with friends or just come here to enjoy a beautiful night, this it the perfect place to be.

A little disappointing. It was a pretty busy morning so I was looking forward to get breakfast here. One of the place from my list to visit. Everything on display looks good. I wish my croissants was not flattened. It looks more appetizing when it was on the display. They didn't asked if we're eating inside or to go. So they just packed everything in a disposable containers. The coffee we first trying to order was all not available so we just end up getting whatever is available. The strawberry shortcake was good but the tiramisu was not par to my taste after the first bite it was disappointing. It was my first time not even finishing a cake and stop eating after first bite.

Breka is a regular stomping ground for my friends and I. They are open 24 hours with great coffee and great food. I especially love their chicken and bacon panini alongside the earl grey cream puff. Good spot if you are looking to grab a coffee or snack late night

With COVID I was a little stressed trying to navigate and figure out where to stand and where to enter, they could use someone working the door but other than that it’s amazing

I love all Breka locations. However I gave this one four stars only because it's always seems to be crazy busy. No matter the time or day, there always seems to be a 10-20 minute line just to get inside. If I have time, I don't mind waiting. If you're in a rush, you might be better off heading to one of their other locations.

Good place for late night studying because the food selection is great plus the workers are the nicest people ever. However, it's ridiculously crowded all the time with no room for social distancing or any type of safety precautions since everyone seems to sit together at a table and there's not much air flow. Also lacks plugs for those who come to do some work or studying.

Went in to order a sandwich for my lunch going snowboarding got up on the mountain went to eat my Montreal smoked meat sandwich which I had ordered and open it to find some kind of gross chicken sandwich with grilled cucumber yuck and now I am up on the mountain with no lunch for the day. ???? Love Breka but the Bute location specifically (my local store) I have repeat issues all stemming down to workers not paying attention properly when taking or filling orders as they are always so busy talking to one another.

I've tried Breka three times and I've never been impressed. The bakery items have never been fresh. Its a nice presentation, but the flavors and texture lack. EDIT: As response to the owner: I tried the Apple/Pistachio Danish, NY Cheesecake, Mango/Coconut Mousse, and 2x muffins (blueberry and walnut chocolate I think) on my last visit. The Mango/Coconut mouse was not bad. The previous visits I can't remember what I ordered, but I think it was cookies and a doughnut

Breka has some of the best desserts around. Their cakes, pies, pastries, donuts are the bomb! They have good sandwiches and would be a ideal spot for those working close by for a lunch break. The staff are friendly and the prices are very fair. I prefer my coffee from a established, well-known Canadian franchise and find myself going for coffee often but fortunately Breka is close to the two franchise locations I frequent so I usually get my donuts or pastries from Breka since they're just so much better. If you've never been here I would highly recommend you checking it out and trying some of their totally delicious, yummy treats. They have a heated patio at this location also so you can pretty much enjoy eating or having coffee or tea comfortably on the patio year-round.

My daughter picked this cafe for breakfast on our trip to Vancouver. Street parking was easy to find. The staff was quick and friendly, the dining room was peaceful and pleasant. The pastries were excellent, and the coffee was just what the Dr. ordered before a long day of touring. The problem I had was choosing between 80 different items amazing pastries.

I just moved in right beside this place and I'm extremely grateful for it's presence. So far I've tried the eclair (best eclair I've ever had anywhere) the breakfast croissant, the sourdough bread, the dark chocolate raspberry scone, the passion fruit mango donut, and the hedgehog mocha. Everything I've had here so far has been incredible and I'll certainly be making Breka my new go-to bakery!

A 24-hour coffee shop! Who would have thought?! They have a nice selection of pastries and sandwiches for those late night cravings. And of course they have a surprisingly good coffee. Because of COVID-19, inside seating is limited (but allowed). The place is very popular but wait times are not long at all.

Avoid if it looks busy. They have such a cumbersome ordering/payment system you can be waiting 10 mins outside then 10 mins inside. Then they take your order and you can wait a further 10 mins for your food! With the new competition nearby you'd think they might want to "up their game" They really need to try a bit harder to improve the customer experience here.

I like Breka, especially because it's open 24h. The coffee-based drinks and London Fog are good. Pastries and desserts are good as well. Service is consistently good. During the winter, they have a few extra tables at the heated patio. It's probably related to the late hours of my visit (around 10pm) but in all occasions I was always under the impression that the pastries like croissants and paninis had been sitting there the entire day and they don't look very appealing. It also looks like they could clean up the tables and floor more often.

I love breka, the food is so good and also the environment that it has, but specialty the service in this location is not so good, I understand that is busy and can be stressed full, but either that we don't deserve that someone be with bad attitude, yelling you because I couldn't understand. I went to the place 3 times, but everytime same experience, always I left stressed. They have to change that, as a person that work in the customer service too we have to understand that we are not working just for get money, also for give the best experience to the customers. I wish the service will be as good as the food.

I love this place! Whenever I'm craving midnight snacks, this is the place that comes to mind. The food is great and pretty healthy, and the desserts are deadly good. A lot of people come here to study, but tables have always been full everytime I've gone here unless it's laaate at night.

24-hour cafe in Vancouver is like a lake in a desert. I liked the place because of the environment and enjoyed high quality of chocolate mouse. This place has a big variety of pastries, mouses, cakes, and tarts. I have to go back to try the other ones. Hot drinks are served too but I don’t think they are more special than other places. Be aware that the seats are limited so on weekends, it may takes a while to find an available seat.

Coffee is the best, better than Starbucks. A medium size Americano is only $2.75, it’s freshly brewed and pipping hot. The panini was so delicious and the double chocolate muffin was heavenly. And the price is so much cheaper than Granville Island, the vibe of this bakery coffee house is so cosy, you don’t want to leave. You can spend the whole afternoon sitting there chatting away. Highly recommend this place!

I go to this Breka almost every night and I absolutely love it; however, the staff there are over worked especially on thurs, friday, and Saturday nights. Even nights before a stat holiday. I feel bad for them. I think there should be at least 4 people for fridays and Saturdays. I literally see them working nonstop with huge lineups that almost see no ends. They are really friendly so they should be treated well.

If you’re into coffee culture this place doesn’t meet your expectations. They serve cappuccino in latte mug with plastic spoon. Very poor quality in taste too. Chocolate mousse is all right.

I like their business. I like what they do over there. But it was the second time i order something through the uber eat application and a part of my order was missing and it wasn't the delivery guy's fault. To me it seems they don't value their customer because after i called them, all they said was, we can not do anything about your problem. So there is no customer service, which means they don't care about the customer complaints. Although you have to pay more for every single item when u orde through the app, you won't get the service u deserve. I was extremely obsessed with Breka, but now i don't trust them any more. And i will never ever be a Breka customer again.

A very nice breakfast joint with a good layout and decent meeting space. They have a variety of sitting options from counter, to table, to informal seating with low coffee stands. They have a counter with a variety of sweet and savoury treats. Staff can point out which items have been baked fresh but nothing is left out long enough to get stale. The bathrooms are small but kept clean. There is a bit of a draft near the doors on cold days. Coffee and tea are served in nice mugs that are stable and not awkward to hold. They have both takeout and eat in options for tea and food. They have an outdoor patio which is open in summer. Parking is only available from street meters or a nearby parkade. However if you have the correct permit they are a short walk from residential parking to the south. There is a bike rack nearby and they are on transit routes. The 24hrs means that you can get some weird customers at night but it is a safe place to study, work and eat at all hours.

The worst day of my life, I found out that they stopped making the Bird's Nest cookies ????. Hands down was the best cookie in town. They have tons of cookies and this one was by far the best out of them all, surprised how they cut this one and not one of the other ones. Their new fig cookie doesn't cut it unfortunately. If they at least added back the coconut then you'd be close to the Bird's Nest cookie again.

Service is good and the place offers coffee as well . It's seems to be constantly busy . Have to come back again to try the other sweets . Ate the banana nut bread it was good .

I was excited to visit Breka for the first time, but my experience was a bit disappointing. I struggled to choose what I wanted at the counter, so the employee wasn’t the nicest while waiting for me. Breka Bakery and Cafe is a great place to go and just meet up with friends or just enjoy every sip of coffee and taste of your dessert. My attached pic is the typical scene. There is some seating outside and sometimes the local Vancouver Police Officers meet up there, so it stays clean and safe. If you need to rest after a long day working the set or if you just want to meet up with someone and be social, go to Breka Bakery and Cafe.

Local favorite and hidden gem, the OG of Breka's and downtown coffee joints, this snuggly and comfortable place is nestled just off Robson and open 24x7. My absolute favorite coffee house and bakery to visit when downtown. They offer a insanely yummy selection of savory and sweet pastries and snacks at great prices to accommodate anyone's cravings or appetites with loads of veggie and vegan options! Whether your in the mood for a meal, or a cheap thumb cookie or two, there's always something delicious to devour. Be prepared to be overwhelmed by your tastebuds when entering as you instantly make eye contact with homemade bread which hit your nose before your eyes. I have never tried any but they look and smell insanely good! The place itself has comfortable seating, nice atmosphere with chilled out music. Unfortunately due to COVID, there isn't much seating available but they also offer outdoor seating on the nicely closed off section away from the sidewalk. The place is efficient with according to social distancing and operate a nice ticketing-based system. I would suggest they do something similar for seating availability to make it fair for everyone. Coffee selections as always are delicious, rich and flavourful. The staff are super friendly and will steam cinnamon in your milk or accommodate to any preferences with a smile. I also love this joint as they offer great prices, but have plenty of plant-based milk alternatives which they do not charge extra for and also display the barista milk cartons themselves for total transparency and trust. Restrooms are clean and well maintained also.

This breka is my go to location, I love it. Myself and my friends got the red velvet, coconut macaroon, strawberry shortcake and New York cheesecake. The red velvet as usual was very tasty, the cheesecake exceeded my expectations nicely and the macaroons were delicious too. The strawberry shortcakes didn’t quite meet our expectations though. I would like more cold drinks options, I didn’t really like the cold tea

We ordered a slice of Red Velvet cake and a glass of London Fog. Both were very, very good. Less then $10. Indoor and outdoor seating. Be careful outside though - one table is right at the edge of a step. Seems a little dangerous.

Great place for coffee, dessert and sandwiches! Only one coffee place in Vancouver Downtown with its own in-house bakery that opens 24/7 and its Breka. Good selection of premaded sandwiches (that they’ll grill for you), cakes and pastries. The usual selection of tea and specialty coffee. No drip coffee. You’ll have to settle for an Americano. They also have the biggest Apple Fritter I have ever seen. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with small apple bites. Lots of seatings inside and a patio outside. There’s also seatings on Bute St.

I really like the atmosphere of the cafe which modern and neat. This cafe opens 24 hours which is great, especially during covid where not a lot of place open 24 hours. The waitress are friendly but because the cafe are too crowded when I came, the waitress are busy to serve other customers and I need to wait for longer time. Since it's too crowded even at late, I'm unable to dine-in and need to find chair outside of the cafe. Overall, the cake which is Kahlua Chocolate cake and New York Cheesecake is very delicious and worth to buy! Their ice americano also great as well because it has strong caffeine

The location is great. Another plus is that is open 24x7 and the Spinach pocket was good. The only issue is that there has to be better organization at the front line. When I asked for the pocket the person told me “go order at the till”, so I went to the till and the lady asked me “which drink would you like” I said I don’t need a drink, just a spinach pocket. She told me, “go order over there”. So, after all the back and forth, I think if you come up with a well organized order system, with clear instructions on who does what, it will be an improvement.

Everything is good, the prices are fair, and best of all they are open 24/7! The only problem is, they are so good that they are constantly busy around the clock and the dining room can be hectic. The best time to come here is for breakfast when it is not too busy around 8:00am and there are plenty of seats inside. Found it to be interesting as different to what have back home. Once you have ordered you just wait until they call you for you meal or your coffee and take it back to your table. If you like can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. One morning had the Montreal Meat Sandwich and this was very delicious and filling with a medium cappuccino, which was done just right. Would come here as often as I can before leaving to go back home.

This location is open 24/7 which is very convenient. It has some outside tables but they are not very convenient and are on a steep slope (the few tables on their "official" patio are hard to get since laptop users tend to sit there for extended periods. The coffees is OK, not very strong. They have a great variety of pastries and European style cakes at very reasonable prices.

This is my "local"; I've probably been here 100+ times. Sometimes I go to the Denman location too; they're both great. The foods are consistently lovely; I often just get a couple of simple sausage rolls and even they are very good -- and very impressive at $2.50! The sandwiches are great (beautifully balanced and they don't scrimp on the meats), the coffee is great and the treats are double great. The COVID-era precautions have also been great, with people mostly being pretty good about respecting the distancing and the line-up going outside -- and there's a reason why the line often goes waaaay out around the back of the shop.

This bakery is great. The drinks are very well made and reasonably priced. The staff is very friendly and efficient even with it being busy any time I have been there. The baked goods are amazing. The icing on the donuts is delicious without a sugar overload taste. Just perfect. Most recently I had a green tea latte(L-$5) and a dolce de leche donut($3.25) and both were exactly what I was looking for. So satisfying. Definitely recommend stopping here if you want a drink or some top notch baked goods. Did I mention they are open 24/7!!!!

First time at this place. Not sure how fair a review it will be, but this will be my review for the 1 item I got. So I ordered the chocolate mouse cake. After taxes and 20% tip it costed a little over $7.00. The cake is definitely meant as a single serving. It is roughly the size of 2 donuts stacked on top of each other, or a costco chocolate muffin. So not very large. That being said, it WAS very good. Not every rich, or anything like that. All the desserts I saw looked like they were created with love and attention to detail as they all looked very delicious.

Just bought a variety of slices from Breka Robson. The Tuxedo cake and German chocolate ones were stale and smelled and tasted like they have been in the fridge for days! yuks...The tiramisu one was good as usual and haven't tried the mango one. The two former ones however were really bad and my guests could not finish them. Slices are about $6.0 each. Also the last time I had my Americano there (5 days ago), she added too much milk to my coffee and so it tasted bland. The quality has definitely been reduced in Breka. Really disappointing!!

Today I had the opportunity to visit the Breka Bakery at Bute Street near Robson Street again. All the pastries, cakes and cookies I tasted so far are good (I have never tried the sandwiches yet). Despite this branch reduced the size of the poppy seed rolls as the others have done already before, I still like that branch most. It is spacious, bright, has a large outside seating area and offers the largest selection of food. I can really recommend that Breka Bakery at Bute Street near Robson Street. 4.5 out of 5

A few days ago I ordered and paid for several items including six of one item. When I got home and I opened the bags I found one, not six of that item. This is the second time that the staff stuffing bags got the order wrong. When busy it seems your clerks are hit and miss. Pretty annoying. Warning customers: Take the time to open each separate bag or box to check orders before accepting.

I had a flat white (8oz, small - only comes in once size). I think it was $3.25+ tax. Decent cup of coffee, nothing super amazing. Tasted like a medium roast, not very bold in flavour. They're open 24/7 at 7 locations which is convenient. I would NOT recommend dining in during COVID-19. The cafe was bustling at full capacity at 11pm on a Friday night, and the tables were quite closer together with minimal barriers.

My friends and I always get together here and spend a lot of money. Today unlike other days I ordered a large size jasmine tea and they put only one small tiny tea bag????when I complained about it they said that’s their policy and if I want another one I have to pay extra 2.75 ???? this is grossly overpriced!!! Why are there reviews with less than 5 stars? This place has anything your sweet-craving heart desires from white chocolate raspberry cheesecake to buttery tarts filled with caramel, bananas and a marshmallow meringue fluff on top, then strawberry shortcake or homemade pies and cookies. The German chocolate cake is great, as well as the donuts and white chocolate blueberry scones. 9 out of 10 tries, you’ll be happy you ordered what you got. Most amazing part? They never close! Gotta love this lively little coffee and bakery joint.

I really like the baked goods at Breka, but unfortunately, I had a really awful service experience here today, I don't think I've ever been treated so poorly. One of the employee's spent a good 5-10 minutes accusing me of lying and costing her money when I visited the store to replace my dessert after I was given the wrong item. I used to buy food here quite often, but I would never want anyone to experience what I did today. Terrible.

The doughnuts were hefty and had good flavors but the dough was just a little dry/stale. Maybe because we got them later in the day? Besides that everything was good and had great service. Open 24 hours! Very quick service. There are plenty of seats inside on the off chance that it is full, the patio is open all year round. They have heated lamps outside. All the sandwiches were very good. Just as good as all the desserts. There are so many things to choose from but when you finally decide you will not be disappointed. Make sure to order something to go for later. You will crave it after, I promise.

I had a very disappointing experience at this location. I ordered a ham and cheese Cretzel, tiramisu cake, and tuxedo truffle. The cashier was extremely flustered and she messed up our order and MISSED the tuxedo cake but charged us for it. Imagine making a 40 minute round trip and realizing that your order was messed up. Bad customer service. The floors were also extremely dirty with tons of leaves and dirt.

We tried a pastry and a slice of cake, both were delicious. The cake was perfectly moist and the amount of icing was just right, not overly sweet. The lattes were not my favorite and I wouldn't order one again but I would go back for the cakes and pastries or to try the sandwiches.
