This Bakery corresponds to the category of Bakery.
One of the best Almond Croisson in town , better be there before afternoon tea time, otherwise the most pastry and bread will gone.
Very nice place for a croissant for breakfast with a cup of coffee or desert with a coffee or tea. It's very busy and small place so you won't able to find a table sometime. Try butter croissant! You will love it!!!
I love the mini cardamon cinnamon rolls and the fact that they have FULLY COMPOSTABLE CUPS lid included, other cafes should take note. The main reason I don’t even want to order anything to go is the amount of plastic waste.
The store is almost in a hidden location, where you would not immediately suspect a bakery. Anyhow, the stores interior is professionally designed and is very nice. Service is exceptionally friendly and polite. Baked goods are tasty and well made, however, be prepared to pay a couple of extra dollars, compared to other shops. The medium drip coffee was not impressive. I was not able to figure out if it was the coffee itself or the to-go cup changing the flavour.
Excellent coffee and amazing croissants. Almond croissant is a must try.
When they can keep their items in stock, they are amazing.
Very limited seating inside and outside, but they do serve great coffee! The croissant had amaizing texture, exactly what you look for in a quality product and with lots of butter (leaves your hands a little greasy), but it lacked that essential butter taste (good butter is hard to get in Canada unfortunately). The lemon tart was beautiful, a little too sweet for my personal liking. Friendly staff.
I come here for the lemon tarts! Best I've ever had, tangy filling crunchy crust. The croissants are awsome as well.
The closest thing to a real Parisian croissant that I've found in Vancouver. Tiny place, great coffee and fantastic pastries.
Coworker took me here! We told them this is my first time and they got excited that this will be my first experience!!! It's nice to see that welcoming of a space. I had the apple strudel and that was a treat. My coworker had a pesto butternut squash thing and that tasted like Thanksgiving!
Very good pastry’s, chocolate almond croissant is a must. Only reason why I am not rating them 5 stars is that they charge 7 (give or take) dollars for specialty seasonal croissant, which I find too much considering you can get the same great quality at other French patisseries for half of the price.
Excellent food and coffee, but too small to stay in. Also, do you really need to charge me for a little butter to go with my $5 scone?
Really enjoyed this spot today. A really great selection of baked goods and great coffee. Had my first bostock (on the left) which was delicious along with a churro morning cream bun. Only downside is that there’s limited seating, but I’ll definitely be coming back to try out the rest of the menu!
Pastries are good. Service is hit or miss. I don't ever feel welcome when I walk in. Pricier than lebeau which I prefer and is near by.
Best croissants I've ever had, absolutely amazing! It is a very tiny shop and couldn't find a place to sit but we enjoyed our treats just outside by our car and it was all well worth it.
One of my favorite bakery. I love peanut butter cookies so this place is a winner. Everything is excellent quality.
Their baked goods are wonderful! Had a selection including the Citrus Scroll, Pistachio Croissant and Tropical Scone. The croissants are so buttery and flaky. My favourite was the Citrus Scroll, it wasn't overly sweet but packed with flavour. The prices do add up so I couldn't sample everything, but would love to come back for a treat!
Amazing pastries! It is unfortunate that their is very little space to sit, because it gets so busy... but their products are still worth it. Plan on taking your treat(s) to go.
Decided to try a new bakery, we waited in a long line only to find half the stuff was sold out. Coffee was on the pricy side. We got Almond Croissants, Raspberry Brioche and Pain au Raisins. The raspberry cream in the Brioche was delicious, but the Croissants were way overbaked almost to the point of being burnt and the Pain au Raisins was nearly torn in half. For an Almond Croissant that costs $5.95 each I expected a lot more and was quite disappointed with the quality.
Fantastic pastries. Beaucoup has maintained a high level of quality and standard throughout the years. Truly the best in the city!
Great bakery amazing flavors the pastry is to die for. Definitely a good place to come
Amazing croissant. Rich butter taste. It was nice and crusty on the outside, moist and buttery on the inside. Sadly the bakery couldn't heat it up, but it was good cold nonetheless. Good service. I recommend the croissant!
Tastey baked goods! It would be nicer if there was more interior space. But that's the new Vancouver for ya!
the smell when you step in is great ,and the pastry ,and croissant ,wow!!
Pastries are good! Coffee is fine.but would love to see options like v60, chemex, aeropress etc... And perhaps some different beans. Parallel 49 are good but not that good.
I've tried plenty of pastries around the world, but the pastries that I enjoyed at Beaucoup Bakery were of the most memorable. The crispy shell can be easily found elsewhere, but not the well-rounded moisture profile of the inner layers. I got the almond croissant, cinnamon scroll, and gingerbread financier. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to satiate their sweet tooths, replenish after a sunny day around Granville, or simply looking to enjoy the rainy afternoon.
Cute little spot with a crustier croissant than most. Coffee: Good, I had a mocha and they used crumbled chocolate instead of syrup which is great, however I didnt get an amazing gauge of the coffee quality. Atmosphere: cute, interactive with chalk wall questions and a large clean bathroom Staff: very friendly and accommodating My vegan friend: happy with barista quality milks Croissants: these are what this shop is known for. They are crispier than we prefer but if you have been looking for a nice crunchy croissant then this is your place. Bonus: rewards points program let's you get free coffee OR pay it forward and help send kids to school.
It was busy! We were impressed with the expeditious service. Good coffee and pastries on the fly ????. Great job Beaucoup Bakery ☕☕
A warm and cozy environment to enjoy a cup of coffee. The pastries and croissants are a must! The staff are kind and welcoming as well.
Little disappointed with the customer service. Pre-ordered few days before pickup online and when I got there they didn't have part of the order. At least they could of told me ahead I might not have ordered it.
Have been here many times. These talented people really know what they're doing! The chausson aux pommes is always a winner. And the hot chocolate during the hot chocolate festival was a beautiful work of art.
Wonderful buttery pastries, get there early they sell out of many items quickly.
Great bakery and coffee restaurant. Small but warm. Everything looks very yummy. Croissant was Very crisy and smell great. Chai latte also tasted good. Overall, it's a place I would like to try more. If you think my review is useful, please give me a like.
Amazing baked good selection!! So delicious!! And of course, amazing roast! Cute little shop as well!! Although not much indoor seating, and not sure if there’s a ramp for strollers or wheelchairs..
Amazing baked goods that will satisfy your needs for buttery pastries. Friendly staff, and fairly efficient service. It is a very small space as trends to be very busy. They will sell out of a lot of the high demand goods like cinnamon scrolls or almond croissants y late morning, so best to go earlier. They use 49th parallel coffee which isn't my favorite, and they tend towards too hot on their Americanos, but their lattes are good.
Mouth watering French pastries. Some of the best you can find in Vancouver!
A nice little bakery with good selection. I think the pricing is alright and the value is okay. In terms of quality, they are decent, not bad at all. Obviously, they are better than your average chain grocery stores such as Costco, Save on Foods, and the like, but you can definitely taste the difference when you compare this place to places like L'atelier Patisserie or Thomas Haas.
This is one of my favorite place for croissant! They have a variety of baked goods from savory to sweet that you can try. Their Almond Croissant is a must try! I had a gift card from a friend so I took the time to try their coffee, apple tart and scone this time. The apple tart is a bit sweet so it's good to pair with a cup or tea Their mocha is made with dark chocolate so it's not too sweet! The green onion scone were very flavorful and the size is huge! I recommend going early because they do sell out and check out their feature because they do change it up. They had a Tropical scone when I was there. The service was awesome! Friendly staff despite they are busy with a line up. It is a smaller place so it's best to go with 2-3. They have outside seating and very limited indoor seats.
I have visited this place many times but it all ended up with either the peanut butter square or/and the peak on my hand. I’m in love with their plant-based selection. Both product have sour berry compote inside to balance the richness of cream and ganache. The peanut butter square is cookie sandwich. The cookie itself is on the crumbling side but it makes the square special. The peak has perfect lamination and you can definitely taste the freshness of coconut from the ganache which is pleasing.
Generally excellent pastries. There are some new things that can be fun and different, but also some miss the mark...but the risk is usually good. Scones always taste better when they warm them up..sometimes they dont offer and I forget to ask.
Been having this place on my “to go” list and it’s soooo worth the wait. The crumb is soooo buttery, soft, and melt in your mouth ♥️
Fresh authentic French bakery. Go in the morning for fresh croissants. Space inside is tight though so large groups are not a good idea.
TLDR; don’t expect anything from them if they mess up your order. if you bring it up - their customer service ignores you I’m usually a fan of their hot chocolate. So I was excited to try their recent strawberry pocky hot chocolate for the hot chocolate festival. Unfortunately, it tasted worst (too sweet, not fruity or chocolatey enough) and really overpriced (11.95 for a cup) They also forgot to give me the pocky for my hot chocolate. So I went on Instagram and told them about receiving an incomplete order - but it’s been two weeks since I first followed up and they still haven’t replied. I understand that they get a lot of messages - so I just wanted to use this review to show how little they care when it comes to resolving concerns. I’ll attach screenshots here!
Pastieries are very good. Service very abrupt and rushed. Coffee? Hmm? last time I was here very disappointed in the Americano.... Very weak with no crema top... Same again ???? and extremely hot. Perhaps purchase your Pastieries here and then go to your favourite coffee house.
Always delicious coffee (they have oat milk, my fav!) and amazing fresh pastries ????
It's a hot and sunny day, and I was walking with my friend and we dropped our delicious peanut butter cookie (which I recommend, the cookie, not the dropping) on the ground. Later on in the day, still hungry, we came back to buy another. My friend said something about dropping the cookie and they gave us another, no charge, no questions asked. Two thumbs up :D
It's an okay pastry shop. Their kouigh Amman is different and not that great. But pls do try their rubharb pastry, it is really good.
They lured a lot people here and just to tell us they sold out. Everybody got mad. They run out of stuff 40 min after open total failure of management. They don't even offer any coupon or anything for those people waited outside under the sun even with covid 19. Terrible.
What nice croissants, especially the butter croissant. But the it is so messy, the flakes went everywhere! I guess that is what it is, very flakey.
Pricey, but completely worth it. The food here was delicious and fresh. The atmosphere was very pleasant and the front seating area of the bakery is very airy and inviting. A great place to go for a treat, but go early before they have run out of all their goodies!
I'm not a big fan of 49th Parallel coffee but barring that minor quibble, this is the best place for pastries in the city. It sounds ridiculous but I actually called ahead to reserve two pains au chocolat recently, because they swiftly run out. I've tried to find better, and even those in Paris couldn't come close.
Service is always great! If you go in try the cookies or the croissants, everything is baked fresh and tastes amazing!
This cafe bakes artful pastries for your sweet and savory desires. I had a sweet and crispy almond chocolate croissant. The customer service is quick and friendly. If you feel like a coffee, you can wash your pastry down with 49th Parallel beans. Seating is very tight and limited but there is a park across the street.
Some of the best pastries in the city. Seasonal picks are great. Follow on Instagram to see what they have. Almond chocolate croissant is unreal. Get there early though. Only knock is lack of parking. They serve parallel 49 coffee.
Nice and friendly staff. Croissant always good
I can see why they have lineups around the building, the pastries are amazing! Especially the blueberry cheesecake croissant!
The pastries are ok, their croissants have a little too much shortening and the too much flakiness that doesn't resemble any true parisian croissants! The coffee is okay. Their staff are not friendly at all, you're lucky if you don't get an attitude from the guy behind the cash! One of those places that has got a hyped for no good reason.
Limited selection and quite often the most items are off the shelves but if you get in early enough it makes for a good breakfast place.
Service was minimal but quick. Limited seating. Chai latte was delicious
The lady was very nice. The yuzu and lime tarte is a must and the pain au chocolat are excellent. I 100% recommend that lovely place
The Chocolate almond croissant is to die for, and any of their financiers (especially the raspberry one). Be prepared to wait in line almost always though.
Best croissants in the city! And generally a great, innovative bakery!
The almond croissant is the best.
Really great, fully compostable cups - sippy lids made of paper, love it!
Just like many other overrated bakeries in metro Vancouver, quality is slightly below average, nothing impressive. It's for neighborhood who has no other better choice. They have few items that are Instagram friendly, but the taste is nothing special.
Good almond croissants. Was there 5 minutes before they open at 6:55am and there were already a few other people waiting in their cars for them to open.
Great French bakery and coffee with a nice service.
Hidden gem. Finally had an opportunity to visit this highly rated bakery cafe. The outside signage was easy to miss. The interior of the cafe seats only a maximum of 12 patrons. I ordered an almond croissant and an Americano to enjoy while I was seated at a window seat overlooking the community children's park across the street. All the seats were likewise filled. The pastry board selection of goodies next to the cash register was quickly selling out. My croissant didn't disappoint. There were shards of laminated flaky layers as I bit into the croissant complimented by the sweet almond paste filling. Perfection. My Americano was very good. I only wished the temperature was hotter. My eye was caught by a diminishing plate of Churro morning cream buns that I couldn't pass up on so I ordered one to take home. This bun was coated on the outside in a cinnamon sugar, topped by a dark chocolate ganache piped as a rosette and finished with pearls of white chocolate. The cinnamon sugar was an ode to a Mexican Churro but the inside cavity consisted of a pate choux filled with a vanilla creme pastry. This bun (their humble description in my opinion) is reminiscent of an Italian lobster tail pastry! A marriage of a croissant outer layer and a cream puff. Absolutely unforgettable ❤️! I wished it didn't seem to disappear so quickly as I ate it. I know my family will go crazy for this one. I can imagine myself planning my next visit to try their other offerings if this one is sold out. Their prices are a bit high for some of their items considering their relative size such as their scones and their queen aman pastries but it's not about quantity but quality. You have to visit at least once to know what you're missing and judge for yourself.
What happened? Change of ownership? Covid affecting sales?? Used to be one of my favorite bakeries for years but the quality of the baked goods have gone downhill steep since a few months ago. I ordered multiple times despite being disappointed hoping that it was a random day the quality isn't what it used to be, but am consistently disappointed especially in their butter and double baked almond croissants. The size shrunk at least 20% and the flaky texture is just off. And where did all the almond slices go? Almond croissants used to be smothered with almond slices and now I can count the few that managed to stay on top. These are just not Beacoup goods I used to enjoy.
$4.46 CAD for a normal chocolate croissant. Do you know what they say first and last, so this is gonna be the last. Taste 2 star out of 5 star.
The phrase, "you get what you pay for" literally applies to this bakery. High quality bread and extremely tasty but on a slightly higher price point
Most amazing and authentic baked goods and coffee in the whole city. Make sure to go early, once they run out for the day there is no more until tomorrow.

If you haven't tried it yet, then you don't know what you are missing. one of the best bakeries and coffeeshops in Vancouver. try it once and no matter where you leave or where you work.....you will make an excuse to visit this place at least once a week ;)
Enjoyed the Isphan yogurt parfait with cheese and onion scone and London fog right outside the park across the street.
WOW ???????? my new favourite place for coffee and a sweet treat! All of their pastries are dangerously delicious..
This place had the best chocolate almond croissant I've ever had in my life, and I've been lucky enough to have tried many. The coffee was great, the space beautiful, and the staff friendly. 100% worth visting!
This place used to be awesome a couple years ago, but yesterday we tried their chocolate croissant and it was a bit sad and tired. It was basically a giant fluff of dough with a tiny piece of chocolate hidden deep in the middle of the croissant. Not worth the extra price. Hopefully just a one off!
Nice and cozy. Normal price and excellent taste. Difficult to find a spot to seat, but there is a park with playground in front as an option. They are popular though. To the point of running out of goods in rush hour.
Friendly staff and very good pastries and coffee. It is not the most comfortable and cozy place to stay but the quality of the food is there.
Good drinks but bring your own cup. Disposable cup and lid smells awful. Pastries are good but sometimes a bit too sweet.
Had the pain aux raisin, and was delighted by the flakey and well browned crust. Sadly however, the inner pastry was undercooked and gummy. The pastry felt dense and greasy while sticking to the teeth, which is not the experience I was hoping for with this type of pastry. The raisins were sweet and very fragrant, but did not make up for the disappointment that I felt while unraveling the pastry.
Be prepared to have your decision-making abilities seriously challenged in face of Beaucoup’s selection of pastries. In addition to the classic favourites like butter croissant and pain au chocolat, they also offer new flavours like milk tea double-baked croissant! Staff is always patient and friendly, even at peak times. Highly recommended!
Always the best croissants and friendly people!
if you only get one thing get the kouign-amann. and the pain au chocolat. and the croissants. get everything because it’s all amazing.
Arguably best croissants in the city. I wish the coffee was better but the pastries are world class.
Love the almond croissant. Wish they would stop running out of it ????
Looked good from the reviews however... When we drove there we found they don't have inside seating. Don't call yourself a cafe if you aren't one. Annoyed.
Long line but it moves relatively quickly. All the croissants are perfectly buttery and flaky, but the best is the chocolate almond. Perfect to take to the little park across the street. About $4-5 ish for each croissant depending on your flavour.
Great almond croissants! Many places like to add almond extract to add extra flavour (making it artificial tasting) but they don't do that here which is much better in my opinion.
Busy, cute, great fresh baked goods selection. A little pricier then you average coffee shop. But it is good quality.
A bit pricy by its good quality, butter croissants are rich and flaky and the coffee (early morning like 2nd person in line) is delicious and well-bodied. The cardamom swirl thing is really good. Just wished they made cardamom buns. Get here early it gets busy fast.
Not much of a cafe for sit down, probably best to grab your pastries and go. But they do have a ton of options including various flavours of croissants, great if you taking some with you for the next few days. It is very delicious. The croissants are about $4-5 each, not too bad in terms of pricing if you're looking for gourmet baked goods!
All right staff was kind of stand offish, and they seem to specialize in sugar which is not my thing but the tea was great
The scones and croissants are amazing!! Super busy most of the time and it can get very cramped here.
Great Croissants (best In Vancouver)that breaks into many layers and it just melts in your mouth ❤️ combined with good coffee can definitely bring your morning spirits high and make the day beautiful and glowing! Must visit for first timers ????❤️
Best croissants in the city! The varieties of flavours also never disappoint, from the classic butter croissant, pain Au chocolat, almond croissant or seasonal flavours!
Get the chocolate chip cookie!!
Amazing place, well decorated and amazing selection of French pure butter pastry, if you into good pastry, this is the place to be. Some outside table and very limited seating inside, but totally worthy the trip event if is for a take out. The just due to the limited seating area made the place laptop free. And some table where occupied but single people working on laptops
Best croissants! Limited seating. Tried their black sesame, peanut mochi croissant. - revolutionary. crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. Always a mood booster.
The baked goods are amazing. Best croissants are the best in town. The only downside is that the coffee is a bit inconsistent.
Lovely croissants. Crunchy on the outside, soft inside. So yummy
Sooooo good ✨ Everything was amazing, but I was blown away by the cardamom koug amann!
Not sure how I can find the words to Express how delicious this place is. Their almond croissant is AHHHH-mazing. Wish they had a place like this in Milton Ontario!!
Excellent choice for baked goods. The croissants was excellent but the coffee was just ok. I would definitely go back again for any of the baked goods but I'll probably grab my coffee elsewhere. It's nice that there's some seating right outside on the sidewalk with some patio seating in a temporary area
DELICIOUS. Every baked good here is on point. Coffee is stronger than my personal taste, but I just get extra hot water. :)
One of the best bakery's in all of Metro Vancouver. It's a must try. They always have something new and interesting.
Been here so many times because it's Soo good. Coffee pastry flavor what else do you want :) definitely one of the best bakeries in Vancouver
This was once my favorite bakery and the quality really dipped over the past few years. The almond croissant almost shrunk to 1/2 of the size it was before yet the price keeps going up. I used to come here regularly for their seasonal croissant features but now they aren’t even readily available. You have to order a head of time for specific pick up dates and they are never available individually. Instead you are forced to purchase pre-set menus that are usually at least 30-40$. Additionally, what you see on social media is not what you get. Their bbq duck croissant cost almost $9 yet there’s barely any duck inside. Overall it’s just a shame as I loved this place so much!
This used to be my favourite place in town for croissants: buttery, layers for ages and baked to perfection. The croissants would almost shatter in your mouth, it was so flakey. But things seemed to have changed. It's now just a decent croissant: a tiny bit of crunch on the outside, a little flat, no crisp layers (somewhat stale even though I bought some at 11am). It's not horrible since the butter flavour was still very present. But knowing what it used to be like, I can't help but be disappointed.
Good coffee and fast service. Interior is a bit small with very limited seating but good for take out.
Pastries are wonderful! My favourite is the double baked almond croissant. Sorry to say that I will likely not be going there again, or at the very least not very often. Went there this morning, early, hoping to grab a coffee and treat before going on a walk. I guess they weren't open yet. Someone was setting up tables and chairs and front door was wide open. We walked in and asked if they were open yet. It was probably 815am and we didn't know they don't open until 9am. The rude person setting up the tables barked "we're not open yet!" and said nothing else. Not "I'm sorry, we aren't quite ready for you yet. We open at 9am". Not "So glad to see you, please come back at 9am when we are open". Nope. "We're not open yet!". There are several wonderful viennoiseries in Vancouver/Burnaby. #Batard #ChezChristophe #ThomasHaas just to name a few. Is Beaucoup Bakery so amazing that they don't care about their customers anymore? They get line ups to be sure and their food is wonderful. But these days in the midst of a pandemic when so many small business are struggling, I am glad to see that Beaucoup doesn't really care about providing friendly customer service so that must mean they are not struggling which I am truly glad for. I applaud their success and will spend my pastry dollars at places where they are happy to see customers.
Extremely decadent bakery, best cinnamon croissant roll ever!
This place has really good coffee. I had the almond Croissant it was a bit on the extra dry and crispy side. I guess a different take on it. But the butter and flavour was too die for. It is expensive so go when you are ready to spend a bit extra on coffee.
We ordered the Lucky 88 pack. It’s our first time trying foods from their store. We have to write here about how blown away we are after tasting their roasted duck croissant and green tea croissant. We have tasted so many croissants but theirs are way better than anything else because they brought seriousness and authenticity of Chinese cuisine into a western dessert. It might be easy to make a perfect traditional croissant but clearly they have surpassed it. This is truly a great example of food culture fusion because it respected both the cultures by doing the techniques to perfection and also managed to find a perfect balance point in the spectrum. Congratulations. Well done! We highly suggest they rotate these options on the regular menu.
Amazing pain au chocolate!! And all other pastries I've tried are excellent. Beverages are good and the surroundings are so enjoyable. I love the floral wall. It is a small space, so best to plan for to-go, though late afternoon is nice and quiet to sit.
The crispness of the croissant is perfect! The filling was flavourful but wasn't super sweet. Although, I didn't get a picture of the peanut butter cookie but that's another great pick. So happy I found this place!
Delightfully delicious,i walked into this cute little bakery on a bright beautiful sunny Vancouver day. The scones I don't think I can do justice in how great it tasted. Yum.
Fantastic pastries. Excellent coffee. Clueless staff. The place is small to begin with, but when a bunch of people order coffee, the barista shouldn't disappear for five minutes to leave everyone waiting for coffee to be penned in like farm animals. And even if she does, the remaining staff behind the counter should probably notice and do something about it instead of just standing there like zombie deer in headlights.
My favourite bakery, my favourite croissants, I just wish they were open Sundays also
Amazing selection of baked goods and really nice coffee. Have been back here multiple times and taken a few friends who have also all loved it.
Not sure if this is mostly morning and weekend place but they were pretty bare and quiet around lunch time on a Thursday. I haven’t been here in a long time probably not since it changed ownership and it seemed much less lively than I remember. Kuign amann is quite good but there wasn’t much else to have. The service is weak, the counter person didn’t even look up when we walked in even though there was no one else there.
Good pastries but not amazing. The coffee was sub par too. There are a number of true French bakers in the lower mainland that I much prefer.
If you like super flaky & crispy fresh all butter croissants, this is the mothership. The croissants tend to sell out mid day. Small location and hard to find parking when busy, so try to go when it’s not busy.
Stopped by on a friend’s recommendation and tried the almond croissant - it was delicious! Firm and flaky crust with a satisfying bite, light inside with a not-too-sweet almond paste that complimented the croissant overall. Will be back for more!
Good pastries and baked goods, not a huge selection in the afternoon (I believe things tend to sell out quickly). Park across the street is nice to sit while enjoying the treat and a coffee
The Best ever If your craving for croissant's in a morning and fresh ingredients and smell of baked items this is the place you have to try. Con's little space and parking are limited. Good for walker's bikers for parking matter's
The place is small, but the flavours are big. One of two places with the best croissants. Also a fan of their chausson aux pinned and apple tart are great go to. It's right across from a small park so if their tables outside are full you can easily sit on the grass eating your food.
Gourmet type bakery (croissant, apple turnovers, scones of all flavours.....lots of goodies- shy on bread) but you must be early or they might be sold out. Great coffee!
So good. The pastries are amazing. Coffee is delish.
One of the best French pastry shops in town, and they serve 49th parallel espresso.
good coffee but I can't say they have the best croissant in town. fresh products but average quality and taste. Be aware they have very limited seatings and no free parking lot around as I am aware.
Staff and customer service and atmosphere was fantastic as usual.
It’s very small so don’t expect to find a seat easily - and chances are people will be bumping into you! You might find it annoying but it’s something I like about this place! Adds to the character of the bakery! The apple pie is different from all others I had! I guess it’s a hit or miss! I loved it but my gf not so much! The London fog however is amazing!
A small nice place. The barista made pretty art on the coffee. They also have yummy bakery but j didn't get to have as they are not gluten free.
If everything here is as delicious as their coffee and chausson aux pommes I'll come back very often!
The best place in Vancouver so far where I can find some pastries almost as good as the one from my childhood in france
Very good pain au raisin. At first I thought it looked a little too "brown". But it was excellent - not overbaked at all. Very good cappuccino too. Not much seating though and our spot had a cold draft... small and quaint and yummy, just not very cozy.
I can deal with how overpriced and pretentious this cafe is if it were at least wheelchair/stroller accessible. There are better French pastries in Vancouver.
ubereats buy 1 get 1 free promo Butter croissant not so good almond croissant quite delicious
Usually this is my favorite place for pastries but I didn't know their online order procedure and communication is that lacking and misleading... I emailed to put an order in on Dec 15th for pickup on the 18th following the instructions on their website, no response. Made a phone call on 17th to confirm and to be told that order must be placed online 3 days in advance. And was told that a manager will respond to work something out but to this day no response. On 20th I tried to make an online order for pickup on 23rd but was told sold out for the week. There was no indication for limited quantities for online orders except for walk-ins. I understand it's the holiday season and it gets very busy and expectations are high, but I didn't expect to be ignored. With the delay in response and the lack of willingness to help, I am left with very limited options in my choice of gifts for my friends/family and clients. Don't think I will go back again.
So delicious and flaky. The smell of butter when you enter the doors is enough warning for what you have gotten yourself into. Prices are steep, but the food is amazing, and you probably shouldn't be eating more than one anyways ;)
Beaucoup has been a Vancouver essential for many years. However, sizes of pastries have decreased and prices have increased. Although it is delicious and buttery, the price / size ratio is questionable!
Good ambience to sit and enjoy some tasty almond croissants.
Love the assorted bakery items.
Great place for croissants and coffee; just get them early before they are gone.
Many lovely morsels packed into this busy little gem. From their regular staples of flaky pan au chocolat and chausson au pomme, to various seasonal tarts and filled croissants, the only way to be disappointed is if you get there too late.
One of the very best bakeries in Vancouver. A must try!
The best BEST bakery in Vancouver. The best croissants in Canada. Amazing. Worth the line up, pre order to be sure you get your delicious baked goods.
Fantastic quality pastries with a price point to match. I had a scone and an excellent hot chocolate. The staff was polite and friendly. Its a small shop and doesnt have a lot pf seating, but there are beautiful parks nearby if the weather is nice. Places like this are the plus side of gentrification, if there is such a thing.
This is such a great bakery in Vancouver that When I can I always stop by for their delicious croissants and scones... my mocha coffee was the real treat this morning... the staff are very friendly and welcoming and answer any-question about their baked goods in the detail you desire....
Loved the pb ² cookie
Yummy, but expensive - $11 something for the hot chocolate festival drink. Worth it for a treat!
Delicious sweet and savoury pastries, coffee and tea. Good milk substitutes and friendly staff. One of the best croissants and pain au chocolat in town.
I enjoyed the iced mocha, one of the better mochas I've had. Also liked the salted caramel blondie bar (a bit decadent though).
The latte I had tasted like warm milk and my boyfriend’s drip coffee was equally bad but the chocolate almond croissant somewhat made up for it. Delicious! Being Francophone, I had high hopes for this place but was ultimately disappointed (the staff don’t even speak French). The place is small, has some charm but I wouldn’t “hang out” there very long as it has a cold atmosphere.
They use local organic or grass fed milk for all their drinks. Their vanilla lattes are especially delicious.
Nice little Cafe. Outside seating only though
Oh my god, the kouign amanns. Just let me die in that sweet, buttery embrace. Pretty much everything available is A+ delicious, so you can't go wrong, but I really liked the pain au raisin and the almond croissant as well.
The butter croissants are really good!
Honestly the BEST cup of coffee I’ve ever had FACT. Spacious cafe with a relaxed vibe and beautiful pastries this place is a must visit when in Van
Contrary to popular belief, this is not the home of Vancouver's best croissant. That title belongs to small victory on Granville. This is, however one of the only places you can get a good bostock. If you want the best almond frangipani croissant, go to pallet coffee roasters.
Amazing pastries and good coffee.
Some of the best croissants and baked goods in town!
Special hot chocolate for 2020 Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival In general I like this bakery, but felt disappointed with this year’s hot chocolate: too sweet, too small hot chocolate, too much cookies and too expensive for what it is.
Very pleasant very small neighborhood coffee shop with decent brewed coffee. This time I tried a pain au chocolat which was a bit on the heavy side as the butter appeared to have pooled on the bottom of the pastry, the middle part was almost empty and the top consisted of a few light crispy layers. Taste - good with the exception of the overall consistency and butter on the bottom. Different style of pain au chocolat then I am accustomed to.
Almond croissant was kind of dry. Filled up fast so we couldn't grab a seat
Had to wait about 15 mins in line to get in, but worth the time and money. Very fresh pastries and lovely employees. Quick, efficient, and covid safe. A bit on the pricey side, but I feel like you get what you pay for. It’s the whole package.
Quuality is there but ive noticed the size if the pain de raison for example has gotten reduced. Today from opening, about 30% smaller but the price has stayed the same. Hmm...time to look around for another rising star.
OMG , this bakery and their pastries, yummy. I am Addicted to their cinnamon rings and their yummy scones!
I walk through this park during my work breaks. There is a small playground for children, a water fountain with a stepping-stone bridge across it, benches near both, and also near some trellised plants. There are tennis courts and open grassy areas, a slope that small children could roll down. The park is split in two, and connected by an underground tunnel system that is reasonably well-lit, though not attractive. Small circular gardens of flowering plants decorate the second half near the '100' cement installment. In this half of the park there are a flock of geese.
I got the chocolate and rosemary cookie with a cappuccino (their coffee is amazing) and the cookie was so flavourful! The atmosphere is very relaxed and the decoration very welcoming. I wish I could have ordered more to try some of their different options which all looked so original and delicious :) Though I have to agree with some of the other reviews stating that there isn't enough seating space, but Beaucoup Bakery is still definitely worth a visit! Your tastebuds will be glad you tried this small independent bakery ;)
Usually busy, so don't go expecting to easily find a seat, but really great pastries worth a try.
Small place. Excellent cinnamon scroll. The place looks popular with queue of people. Only pick up, no place to sit.
We got the potato galetti here for the first time today!! Such a flaky crust we would definitely be going here more for breakfast ????
Small, busy, cute little place for pastries. They serve swisswater decaf coffee
I want to collaborate with them and make a frenchise that they're so good. I wish there's as many Beacoup bakery as there are donut joints. These are so much better. Best croissants I've ever had. Definitely a big piece of heaven.
Delicious pastries, incredible customer service, professional and covid safe. If you like peanut butter desserts, don’t skip on the peanut butter cookie, it’s outstanding.
Happened to be in the neighbourhood & I'm so happy I stopped by & picked up some treats for the family! Service was friendly & quick. Prices are reasonable & comparable to similar bakeries around. We ordered the following: Raspberry Brioche Praline - omgoodness, this was so good. It was overloaded with this amazing raspberry cream that had just the right amount of tartness & sweetness! The brioche was a little on the dry side, not sure if it's because I waited a day to eat it, but the cream more than made up for that one downside! Banana Caramel Scroll - partner ordered this & he said it was absolutely delicious. Just the right amount sweetness. 4 Chocolate Croissants - ordered these for the kids (if you've noticed a trend that we usually only order the chocolate croissants for the kids....it's because they're basic & we know it's the one thing they will like for sure ????). They said it was your typical chocolate croissant, unfortunately there was nothing special or anything to it that made it stand out. Overall a great little bakery that I hope to visit again soon! @inspiringfoodie
Pastries are amazing but they can do better with their drinks.
The Cardamom Kouign Amann is very special. I don't think you can get these anywhere else. The flaky, crispy pastry is tightly rolled with a cardamom filling and is glazed so that it's nice and sticky, and topped with flaky sea salt. Cardamom is my favourite spice! The Chocolate Almond Croissants were flaky and not too sweet, but they could have benefited from more chocolate. I'll definitely be back. Follow me on Instagram @vinaeatsandtreats for more honest restaurant and baking recipe reviews!
Exceptionally small and generally very busy (especially weekends!) this bakery remains my favorite place to grab an almond croissant and a coffee. Some days you can smell the butter from their baking from a few blocks away. Don’t count on finding a seat but both coffee and baked goods are good enough I’ll take them to go.
Excellent pastries and great coffee. Not much seating inside but there's a little park just outside got more seating options.
This used to a good place for baked food and deserts. They used to make a very good giant macaroon. Not any more, If you go in the afternoon, there is nothing in their display case. It is shame, they are losing many potential customers. The limited seating inside turns people away. It is not worth the effort to come here any more. This business needs to plan better to have enough inventory to last all day.
Very nice milk tea croissant!
I loved this bakery was so good, the quality is amazing. I bought a mocha which I'm always trying to find the best one and most authentic and theirs was perfection! I also got the chocolate Rosemary cookie the perfect combination of sweet and savoury, and the peanut butter sandwich cookie which reminded me of a dessert I used to get back home a sweet memory! Definitely recommend the place, staff was very friendly and in a great area for nice walks.
The pastries here are to die for - must be one of the best bakeries in town. Must try their butter croissant and almond croissant.
Tried this place twice. First time tried their Kougn Aman (pardon the spelling). Super tiny pastry at a very high cost! Granted before covid I’m sure I would’ve had a chance to see them in person and realize I was paying huge amount for a single bite. Tried again during their Mister Ice Cream special Aug 30 but after 35 min of opening they were sold out of that special. Poor planning and high cost. I am always on the look out for top notch patisserie, but this isn’t it for me.
Amazing pastry and great coffee! Go early before the baked goods selection wanes.
I moved to the area recently and Beaucoup Bakery happened to be within a couple of minutes’ walking distance away. …
We had a lovely breakfast today! (6 February 2021) We got almond croissant, potato galette and cinnamon scroll. However, after we got home (we didn’t eat anything other than Beaucoup) my boyfriend and I felt sick and I think we have mild food poisoning. I wonder is there anything wrong with the products and is there anybody who feels the same? Update: I have sent an email to the address that they provided after this comment, but did not get an answer.
Don't order to go: the travel cups and lids are cheap and you'll get burned (literally). They don't fit well and spill easily. The coffee will then saturate the seam of the cup and run down the bottom spilling onto your hands, clothing, and the cupholder in the car. This is the problem with compstable cups+lids, they often start breaking down while they're in use. Suggestion to the owners: invest in higher grade materials - your delicious coffee and croissants deserve better.
Holy crap this bakery is good. But be warned, the peanut butter cookie sandwich is incredibly rich and you'll likely not finish it.
You must try the peanut butter sandwich cookie. It will brighten even the darkest day. Everything here is of the highest quality. Yum.
Wonderful scone, coffee and atmosphere. Service was a little standoffish though. People need to smile a bit more.
Eat the topping first. Or you’ll be wearing the whip cream, wafer and plane. ???????????? Went to drink the hot chocolate with the topping and it slid right onto my lap. Aside from that, the Thai Milk Tea flavoured hot chocolate was amazing. There was a bit of a gritty taste which we couldn’t figure out what it was. Only 3 people max are allowed inside. Which would explain the lineup outside. All safety protocols were in place. Staff were very friendly. Onto the next stop of the Hot Chocolate Festival trail.
Probably the best pastries in Vancouver. The Pan au Chocolat is amazing. But my favorite is the chocolate almond crossoint. Really everything is very good. It's a small space and is usually full. Don't bother coming here on a sunny Sunday as it will be lined up and everything sold! Good selection of teas and 49th Parallel supplies the coffee.
Come here early to get the best selection of goodies! I highly recommend the chocolate chunk cookie and chocolate almond croissant!!!
Not only do they have fabulous pastries, today's hot chocolate feature called Chocolate Playground was scrumptious!
Been here now a couple of times and the pastries are outstanding. I would even go as far to say that their croissant may be the best croissant in Canada and perhaps even North America. Very small place, very busy but the quality of the food is fantastic. Staff is friendly and helpful. Coffee was good -- but I'm not a huge coffee drinker. When I visit Vancouver, I try to always make a stop here at least once.
Been here a few times. Baked goods and hot chocolate always beautifully crafted.
Hot Chocolate festival. Cute hot chocolate with pocky stick cost $12, expensive but at least the cup is bigger than other places. The pocky stick they gave us was broken in half
Best Croissant in Vancouver. Must try almond an pistachio croisaant. It taste amazing!
This place is beautiful. But that's about it. The space inside is small. Seating is limited. Not an original coffee roast. Way over priced. In perspective, two coffees, two sandwiches which were served cold(no press), and two pastries came to $40. The same price you could go to a local restaurant and have bottomless coffee and a side dish and similar serving. Compared to other coffee shops, this one didn't impress me much.
Came here for the Hot Chocolate Festival. Parking is little limited. Smaller shop, Friendly staff.
Beaucoup Bakery is an awesome and quaint bakery. I love that they sell cookbooks, candles, artisan chocolates, jams, and other items in addition to their fresh and delicious viennoisseries and cookies. My sister had been raving about their oat milk latte and almond croissants, and they did not disappoint! The iced oat latte was creamy and smooth, and not too sweet despite the pump of caramel syrup in it. The almond croissant was buttery, flaky and delicious with a generous amount of almond paste in it and crispy sliced almonds on top. The bakery itself is small but there is plenty of seating outside.
One of the best croissant places in town. crispy and freshly baked croissants with a buttery taste. A must try if you're in the neighbourhood.
OMGOSH!!! Dangerous for the waistline and the staff was pretty great too!!
This is one of those places that the locals know about and lucky visitors find. Great coffee and fantastic pastries. Go there, go there now!
What can I say? I'm always crushed on Mondays when they're closed because I just so admire the craftspersonship of their pastries and baking chefs (exceptional!) and the London fog with queen Anne's tea is spot on.
Croissant was really crunch and nice. Egg tart was fine.staff are kind and friendly. It was good place to visit ????????
When I have visitors from out of town, this is one of the first places I bring them. I genuinely believe they are the best croissants in Vancouver.
My father loves the croissants here. Lovely little bakery with lots of options to choose from. Friendly service.
Amazing pastries! Beaucoup is one of our go-to spots in Vancouver. The ham & cheese scrolls and citrus scrolls are our favourites so far. There's typically a short wait in line but it's worth it.
One of my favourite bakery in Vancouver. I loved their new flavour “Raspberry brioche “ Impressed by rich and creamy cream inside! Also, staff are friendly and professional. Looking forward to dine in again and would love to try more new flavours. I want to encourage patisserie’s who is always creating new recipes. Love your passion ❤️Keep working!
Everything is great, my only complaint is not many parking spaces around the coffee shop.
Excellent dessert and bakery place. Apple tart is well balanced between creamy and apple flavour, yet lemon yuzu tart is slightly citrusy. Tasteful jasmine flavour for the cookie, and balance rosemary taste in the financier.
Easily the best French style bakery in town! Double baked chocolate almond croissant is a must have!
Best bakery in Vancouver. Everything is delicious. Get here early or it will be gone! Expect a lineup, but definitely worth the wait!
Great spot for French pastry and coffee. The cafe is small, so sometimes it's hard to find a seat. They will graciously box up your purchase to take home or to the office.
Best croissants in the city hands down!!! Be prepared to wait a bit and most probably take everything to go because this is a tiny, tiny shop... But they have outside seating and the park across the street is a perfect place to enjoy your coffee break. The French pastries are amazing, their crusts are always unbelievably flaky. Coffee is great too - Definitely in my top 5 best coffee in Van!
My favorite bakery In Vancouver. The baked goods are delicious.
Outstanding Paris quality pastries and wonderful coffees! The apple tart is my favourite.
This place is a feast for the eyes. There isn’t a lot of seating but there’s a little park across the street if there’s no room. I can’t recommend anything specific bc I love it all
Small French-style café overlooking the park. The baked goods are super buttery rich (in a good way) and probably best shared with a friend. They have a full coffee/espresso menu, and sell small packaged goods as well, such as maple syrup and spreads.
Everything tastes magical. Latte, Cappuccino and Coconut Lime Croissant. Just perfect.
Try the chocolate chip cookie and ham and cheese scone. So good
Food is yummy coffee is average but the pricing is outrageous. Grossly offensive pricing targeted at wealthy stuck up snobs.
I have disliked almond croissants for a long time because the almond paste is usually too sweet, but my partner (unknowing of my dislike of almond croissants) got me an almond croissant and pain au chocolat as a treat... and the one from Beaucoup is TRÉS BEAUCOUP ???? I’m obsessed.. so the next time, upon recommendation from one of the staff, I got the chocolate almond croissant. OMG, it’s a beautiful combo of my faves. I love this place for a treat yourself kinda day.
As another reviewer wrote, there is next to nothing on the shelves in the afternoon. Don’t waste your time going after lunch if you want anything other than coffee.
Amazing French bakery with a nice selection of pastries. My favourites are the almond croissants, chocolate almond croissants, and butter croissants.
Hands down the best croissant I've ever had. Arrive early on the weekends to avoid disappointment of things being sold out. My wife and kids like the croissants, but if you want something different, try the cinnamon scroll. Absolutely amazing with a cup of strong coffee. Also, has a park across the street so its good to grab your food and let the kids run around. Shop is tiny and parking sucks but it is totally worth the visit.
High quality bakery that does quite a good butter croissant. Enjoyed their petite brioche loaf as well, just the right amount of sweet. Their kouign-amann is alright - however, it's small, dense and swirled like a cinnamon roll, which is quite different than the fluffy and light texture I typically expect with kouign-amanns. Wasn't bad, but different than what I was hoping for.
Great coffees and excellent French style pastries. Very attentive staff. I love this place.
Make sure you fill your boots, if you don’t live close enough to go everyday!
Delicious coffee and sweet little cafe. take your coffee to go, or stay if seats are available. note, their is very limited seating.
Here is a wonderful place to relax and have a coffee break
It is a nice place for a "fast" breakfast. Some good ready-to-eat bakery options, but there are less savory food, like sandwiches. The staff was very polite
BEST PAIN AU CHOCOLAT EVER this place is a small bakery but a good one food is to die for staff is friendly and helpful definitely coming back always has a line up stuff runs out fast so go early
Decided to visit after reading much hype about this place. I had a chocolate and almond croissant and an americano. The americano was too hot when it was served and didn't have much flavour. The croissant had good flavour, but the texture did not reflect the texture of a quintessential Parisian croissant. Also, the price per croissant is a bit more expensive than other places in Kitsilano.
I was very disappointed by this place. The pastries are ok, but many are there over loaded with sugar and too greasy. The coffee is horrible because they use 49th parallel coffee beans, which are over roasted and bitter. To top it off, the place is so badly designed, there is no room to sit down, we had to stand up to eat our croissant
Best croissants outside France! Great selection of baked goods and other delicious desserts.
The coffee is an inferior quality. I think it's been changed.
Best French pastries in town... At least while Jackie Kai Ellis owned the place. Double baked almond croissant is all I have to say.
Great pastries and coffee! First time we tried this place and they have quality food and beverage. We were second in line and were trying to make our decision on what to get. Asked a couple of questions about offerings and type of pastry since it was our first visit. The cashier was friendly but the barista was very unfriendly. We are both service professionals and agree based on our experience today - 3 separate interactions, that this might not be the best career choice for her. Giving it 5 stars because we enjoyed the food and will return to give it a second chance hoping for better service.
Tried on Jan 23, 2015. Overrated, overcrowded, small place has not many seats. Almond croissant are gone, tried butter croissant, it was good, but not outstanding to compare baguette co on Davie street, and coffee was awful at Beaucoup :( Americano no no taste. A bit disappointed.
Good luck finding a better butter croissant anywhere else. This place has ruined me for the benchmark. Also, cinnamon scrolls.
highly recommend their almond croissants and cinnamon scrolls
The place is nice looking. The staff were young and hip, but cold and unfriendly. The poor quality of service negated the good quality of the drinks. Will not return again.
Great little local bakery. Their pastries are to die for! I would recommend the croissants. Coffee is also good here too. Make sure to get there early I've never been there and there not be a line up. They also have a few gluten free options too which is so nice!
Coming from Montreal, I found Vancouver to have scarce and expensive pastries that were often not that good. A buttery crisp layered dough it truly hard to find in this city, but you will find it at Beaucoup. Their Kouign Amann is truly delicious and their gluten free options are crafted beautifully—even for butter lovers these are a must try for the flavours. We were pleasantly surprised by the blueberry/cassis/charcoal crumpet. Well done
I really enjoy the quality of their general selection of baked goods, as well as their seasonal selection whenever they come out with something new. Unfortunately there isn't much parking and the storefront is a bit small, but the baked goods are delicious, so I'd recommend planning to take out rather than sit down to enjoy the food.
This is a nice small cafe where you can sweet or savoury croissant and meals. Try the Avocado and Chimichurra croissant as it it quite nice. There is some seating inside and some outside. Be careful when ordering a large cappuccino as you might get surprised how large a cup you will get as it is more of a mug. I would return here to try other items on the menu as they looked interesting.
I think Beaucoup may have the best pastries in the city. Their croissants are supper buttery and flaky and delicious. I would highly recommend coming here if you're in the mood for something sweet.
It was my first visit after we have covid 19. All servers changed to Koreans?? I am suspecting the original owner sold the business ?? It was still very crowded and lots of ppl and line up on a Saturday morning right after they open at the new hour 10 am. I ask for a receipt, didn’t give me. I asked for a paper bag, didn’t give me.... the pastry didn’t not taste as good as I remembered them... maybe covid changed a lot of things lol
The bakery here is not my favorite. I tried 4 or 5 items here, they all taste very stiff and dry like it’s almost got a stale taste. (I think it’s not stale though... because they sell out fast?) I also tried their white yuzu chocolate... this is not chocolate at all, it’s just some white coloured yuzu flavoured candy bar..
Love their rotating selection of pastries! Always fresh and always delicious. My go to bakery in town!
Their yuzu roll is a like pain au raisin but with yuzu citrus. Super delicious!
Very cute little bakery with great service. All the staff were very nice and helpful. I had the cheese/ramen croissant, which was delicious!!!! Also tried several of the other goods that were also very tasty. Overall I prefer PureBread though as they have great pastries and bread options. Nonetheless, beaucoup is worthy of 5 stars for the overall experience.
Love the butter croissant and almond croissant.
Consider this review pending until I've tried everything they bake. Had a bostock(?) for breakfast the other day: slice of brioche bread soaked in orange blossom syrup, spread with frangipane sprinkled with slivered almonds, baked again and dusted with icing sugar. It was a transcendent experience. By comparison their latte was fine. Not bad by any means, but with so much excellent coffee in the neighbourhood it was merely fine. Don't go to Beaucoup for the coffee--or the seating, of which there is almost none--go for their fantastic selection of baked goods, mostly a variety made with miraculously flaky puff pastry.
The croissants & pain au chocolat here are amazing. There is a park across the street where all parents are holding coffee and pastry from here. For parents with mall children, note there are a few steps right inside the front door so leave the stroller outside if itbisnt raining.
Croissant and pain au chocolat not so Good. I picked up a few of each this morning and they were definitely over cooked. Pretty disappointed for a product that expensive. I've had better in other bakery. The rest of the shop looked nice. I'm only speaking for the croissant and pain au chocolat part.
Their peanut butter and jam hot chocolate (their special offer for the Hot Chocolate Festival) will blow your mind! If that is an indication of how well they do everything else, than this is a place you must visit! I can't wait to go back.
Beaucoup has most excellent croissants. Had the butter, almond, pain au chocolate, and ramen and cheese croissants. All were excellent although the ramen and cheese was a little bit off the reservation. The salted caramel and chocolate brownies (I think it had espresso in it also) had excellent flavor and texture. In some sense these were the stars of the show. Contrary to what some reviewers say, the staff was great. Friendly and attentive. Nothing wrong here.
Amazing coffee and treats!! Also had my dog with me and I thought they were dog friendly inside but they quickly let me know they were not. However they were more than happy to accommodate my order outside while we waited. Great customer service! Thank you!!
Disappointing - My first time at this place after hearing and reading all the great reviews. The girl packing the pastries was in a hurry to get the line-up moving that she gave me the wrong pastries. However I was charged for what I asked for, which was more expensive than what I got in my little box of pastries. Too bad that customer service is not as good as their pastries!
IMHO croissants and pains au chocolat have gone down in quality over last months - overcooked and excessively greasy, crusty on the outside and very little substance on the inside.
Best gluten free brownie I have ever tasted. Best Chai latte with homemade nut milk!!
A small French cafe. As soon as you walk in the gorgeous smell of baking and butter hit you. I love the quiet atmosphere (9 am on a weekday). Pleasant and quick service. I had the tropical scone and a decaf coffee. Was very good and I recommend a vistbif you're in the area.
Delicious pastries. Have to resist stopping daily Almond croissant is a favorite but you can’t go wrong with any of their offerings.
After reading few negative comments about the taste of the croissant and consistency being too oily I had to check it myself. I used to be one their first customer back then and came back often as this was the best pastry shop in town. I used to say better than in France. Unfortunately negative comments are true. The croissant tasted terrible. I put two stars and not one because the croissant was still crusty on the outside but that is all what remained. An empty oily shell.
One of our favorite destination for pastries in Vancouver! Cafe is small and usually quite busy so I recommend getting there early.
ZOMG! Most amazing croissants I've had in years! Great coffee too!
Really delicious French-inspired pastries with some fun experimental ones from time to time (like the cheese ramen scone from last year).
Best croissants in the city - so many layers, extremely flaky and fresh!
DELICIOUS pastries! The outdoor covid set up was quick and efficient and did not effect service at all.
The Yuzu tart and raspberry brioche are excellent. A bit pricy (each item is around $5-$6 each), but overall their products are good quality.
Exquisite looking and tasting pastries. Nice presentation. Disappointed, however, that they don't accept cash. Cash is *legal tender*. (And no, I don't buy any Covid excuses about refusing cash). It's elitist to not accept it: what if some person without a bank account or experiencing homelessness wants a coffee?
Tried 3 different items from here. Cinnamon scroll was lacking in flavor, but was also incredibly dry and stale seeming. The Apple bun was nicer, it was soft and the bit of apple on top had a good taste. The bun itself though didn't really taste like anything, just a lot of butter but not in a good way. The chocolate brownie was really good though. The dough was soft and had good flavor, and I liked the pieces of chocolate on the bottom.
purchased tiny sized pistachio and raspberry layered cake ($8 ea) to take-out; server packed slices with bottom liner scotch-taped to the of box. The layers fell apart and toppled when we got home; taste was mediocre, crust super hard and overall lacking any flavors, very disappointed.
Delicious coffee, even better pastries. Their apple pie bun and croissants in particular are some of the best pastries I’ve had outside of France. To die for!
Good coffee and fantastic baking. My only complaint is the single solitary gluten free item on the menu (which is excellent). I am Gluten intolerant but broke down and had a croissant and I must say it was excellent and worth the stomach pain and bloating (but I wont be repeating it).
Their almond croissants are the best in town!
The first time I visited Beaucoup Bakery was for the Hot Chocolate Festival. I never loved hot chocolate as much as I did with theirs and this is one of the two places I tried both hot chocolate flavors at. I also bought the Pistachio and the Peanut Sesame Mochi Croissant at two separate occasions. Everything was scrumptious. The employees were friendly too. My only concern was that they don't have indoor seating, so you cannot really enjoy sitting outdoor when it starts raining (happened to me twice).
Best croissants in town! Buttery, flaky and delicious! Be sure to get there early as they often sell out. Don’t be worried about the line, it moves quickly by friendly and helpful staff! ***if they have any seasonal fruit croissants, they are a must try!!
Best croissants in Vancouver! Make sure to go earlier in the day, they sell out of baked goodies fast!
Great coffee and to die for pastries. Everything they make is amazing but the almond croissants are out of this world good.
Love their croissants. Somewhat pricey but it's very flaky. My wife says their coffee is amazing although I've never tried it myself.
They have really good cookies. Great and caring staff. Would highly recommend.
Amazing, cozy space with yummy eats, delicious and filling nit milk made from almonds, cashews and figs (naturally sweet made from 30% almonds versus 2% from regular milk. Some free street parking can be found a few blocks down though there are occasionally free spots right out front on the street and a couple behind the building. Staff are very helpful and friendly.
This is my favourite bakery in town! They do a great job cultivating Asian inspired French baked goods, it’s a one of a kind experience.
Very nice and cute bakery. They have the best croissants and my go-to place for almond croissants when I crave for one. It is consistent and never disappoint me. Nice coffee and pretty good service too. It is very small but if you manage to find a place to seat it tois awesome to hangout with a cup of coffee with a snack.
No need too much description for this place. Crazy busy on the weekend mornings, line up and wait to be expected. From the layers of that croissant, the smell of baked goods and coffee aroma, you already know how good things are here. Come to get your first bite and you won't regret. Btw, i am not sponsored. Lol.
I ordered from Uber for pick up because I am at work and I don’t have a lot of time to line up. At the same time, it happened that they have a buy one get one free promotion for cinnamon scroll. But I realized, I paid almost 100% more than from purchasing from the bakery directly! Uber Price: $8.95 Bakery Price: $4.50 Unbelievable! I sent an email and asked them to cancel my order. Their reply: Not a problem at all! tsk-tsk!
Beaucoup is a great place to come for a quick pastry snack and a hot beverage. Everything that I have tried at Beaucoup is delicious. Their pastries are authentically French and I love that they do seasonal features. Definitely worth popping by for a visit!
Delicious baked goods, so hard to decide what to try!! Love the location @ end of Arbutus corridor bike route!! I will be back!!
Excellent baked goods, very creative (price reflects this), charming spot, it’s just too bad the service doesn’t match. Had to walk away last visit. And won’t go back.
LOVE the baked goods. The almond croissants and cinnamon scrolls are heavenly! I just wish the service was friendlier at times. Sometimes it's fine. Sometimes it's tepid at best.
Beaucoup Bakery has one of my favourite croissants in-town. They are super flakey and buttery. However, my go-to at Beaucoup has got to be their pain aux raisins! It has enough raisins inside, not too sweet, and hits all the right notes. Right now, they are closed for dining-in during COVID, but I can't wait to be pack inside - there is definitely a quaint and intimate feel. Their floral mural is beautiful! Recently, they released some plant-based options - the peanut butter cookie tastes like the original version too!
I’m so impressed with the pastries. Amazing crunchy almond crossiant. Would definitely revisit.
The best part is the coffee. And the baked goods. And the service... just go here, it’s better than where you were thinking of.
Coffee is worse than instant coffee. I asked for liquid sugar in my iced americano and I got sugar packets instead. Since it's iced it won't melt and instead I got sandy sugar bits with stale coffee. Came because of the ratings will never come again.
30 minute lineup, London Fog with oat milk was average ... I prefer Starbucks
Amazing croissants. Staff were very friendly and kind too. Will definitely come back!
Delicious coffee and the croissants are absolutely delicious. Also tried their gluten-free chocolate brownies and they were moist and very chocolatey and worth every last calorie! Parking is limited. Best coffee and pastries in the city.
Some seriously amazing pastries. Can be a bit crowded but can’t fault them for being popular. Their croissants are heavenly, very rich and you can tell they don’t skimp on the good ingredients. They’ve got a great egg-free option in the cinnamon scroll which is just as good as the other stuff there if not better. The drinks are decent but nothing special, though really you need to go here for the baked goods.
Decent flavor but overly expensive for what it was. The breakfast sandwich was really just the hard part of the lettuce with a few other things carelessly tossed in.
The best pastries in the city. No other croissant compares unless your in France. That's right, not even your full service Vancouver hotels with pastrie chefs can hang. Plus the staff are very nice and welcoming.
I love this spot! Feels like a trip to France. Staff are friendly and patient as you make your choice from the numerous pastry options. You can’t go wrong though I’ve been back a few times and they are all good! There is a bit of trouble with limited seating but it’s worth the wait for a stool or to take it to go and enjoy in the community gardens across the street.
Great lattes, wonderful staff and do many goodies to choose from. My one and only coffee place to go to now.
Best almond croissant I’ve ever had ????
I've walked past this place numerous without realizing I was walking by a superb bakery. The pastries are superb as is the coffee. Space is extremely limited so if you can grab a seat, you're lucky.
As today, the second best French pastries place in Vancouver. Just below L'atelier. The place is nice and have a nice fusion between french pastries and Japanese style items. It's pretty good. Service is efficient and food is delicious. Their Cardamom kouign amann is spectacular. Gets quite busy before 11AM on weekends though. 20 to 40 minutes line up easy.
Tried to go to a different bakery close to Beaucoup to try it. My wife is at home with our newborn and really loves baked goods to cheer her up with all the stress. The place I went to had staff and customers no masking it. Yes, I am a crazy mask person and no I won’t buy from places that don’t give a sh*t. Thank god for Beaucoup, same awesome delicious pastries with so much selection and super safe setup. Also, honestly before your service was kinda mellow speed. Now I can barely choose all the goodies I want before you’re handing me that wonderful cardboard box with the nice red sticker. Thanks for being your awesome selves and thanks for caring about everyone during all this craziness.
I absolutely love this little place. Their pastries are delicious, feels like being back home in Paris. Lots of butter obviously but delicious. When I came there for the first time, I went back everyday of my stay in Vancouver. I love their croissant and pain au chocolat the most. A lot of people come in to order for take out. Their chausson au pomme has a North American twist i think, because of the cinnamon. There is not a lot of sitting but there is a small parc across the street if the weather is nice. You can also park at the front for a couple minutes or on the left hand side of the place. Definitely recommend this place.
Seeking the most heavenly croissants this side of the Atlantic? Look no further than Beaucoup Bakery. Tucked away on a side street near Granville Island, it should be your first stop on the way to the Granville Market. Beaucoup delicious, beaucoup Beaucoup!
Great coffee and great bakes. I do wish there were more seats and less sold out options though. But loved this place!
Not sure if the food is any good because they were closed. Monday-ok that's their stated day of closure, but it's Friday today and still not open. Not impressed.
This bakery used to have the best almond croissants in town, hands down. We thought they were having an off day! The croissant shrunk in size, the almond paste was barely there, and there were maybe 4 almond slices on top, when it used to be smothered in almond slices. We visited two more times since then....and I guess that's how it's going to be made from now on. Quality has definitely gone down hill.
Pastries are illegally good... Ok, legally good, but should be illegal.
always a variety of delicious baked goods and specialty pastries, keeps me coming back for more!
The almond croissant is the best! I also love the hot chocolate. The cutest little spot to satisfy a treat craving!
There are no words for how delicious their pastries are! Raspberry Brioche, Pain au Chocolate...to die for!
Superb. Best croissants in the city. Try the potato galette!
Absolutely our favourite croissant/bakery shop in town! LOVE their baked goods. Highly recommend their Jasmine blueberry croissants, sooo delicious. The only downside is that the space is really tiny and has an awkward layout. So we recommend doing take outs (they use paper containers but best if you could bring your own). We tell all our friends about this place whenever they're in Vancouver.
Delicious and creative baked goods everytime
Cassis blueberry yuzu croissant ????????????????nothing but sweet Hot cross lava bun???? 1127 Peanut butter cookie sandwich ????????♀️(the cream is smooth dense but not heavy. The taste of peanut butter is really good, high-quality. The cookie texture is coarse and goes along well with the cream, but not my type. Overall not too sweet and heavy, enjoyed it
I live around the corner, and I frequent Beaucoup. But I just had their caulilini sunchoke mushroom savoury tarte, and I had to leave a review. This tarte was exquisite! Flavours I'd never thought I'd get to experience from a bakery. Seriously, 10/10. One of the best baked goods I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing.
Haven't tried their croissant yet, but their pastries look great. Bought 3 kinds today and tried one of them, which was very rich and filling. My coworkers were enjoying them, too but overall feedback I heard was that they were too sweet. I am definitely trying croissant soon.
Amazing (easily the best in town) croissants. The 49th Parallel (my favourite) coffee. This place is closed on Mondays. It desperately needs bicycle racks - people have to lock their bicycles to poles. Attention Manager: your customers often cycle to your bakery and they need a bicycle rack!
Delicious croissants and pastries. The chef is a true master. I highly recommend their food.
I lived in France for 2 years. These are by far the best pastries I have had outside of France.
Amazing baked goods. Fresh, great selection and quick service. Takeout window at the door, but they have an impromptu patio set up!
One of my favorite croissants place. I like pistachio and almond croissants. Those are really good!!
The chocolate almond croissant is next level. Definitely check this place out.
Always a line up at this place which is understandable considering the place is tiny and they only allow less than 5 guests inside. My fave is the apple tart which has the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness. The vanilla cream inside was so good! I also tried kouign amann as I read many people recommended to get it from Beacoup. It was good but a bit on the too sweet for me.
This used to be the best patisserie in town. The selection of cake, viennoiserie was fantastic. The croissant are still some of the best but it has lost its touch sadly and $4 for a croissant is indecent...
I loved this bakery and can’t wait to go back. Everything was delicious and well made. Super fresh. The chocolate chip cookie was my favourite.
The pastries are good, the service not so much.
One of the best bakeries in town ???? Highly recommended
Delicious treats, sunny happy staff, outdoor area for seating, and as of mid-February 2022....indoor seating is back!!!!!
Love! The croissants are amazing, and their yuzu lemon tart makes all my dreams come true.
I arrived one weekend morning shortly after opening and waited in a 25 min line up. One of the items I wanted to try was already sold out by the time I got in (10am?). I paid about $35 for 3 items and their hot chocolate (part of the hot chocolate festival) so it was quite pricey. It was also a little chaotic as people picking up prepaid orders weren’t waiting in line and there was no direction from staff. I don’t think I’d deliberately make a trip back.
Went here twice recently and ordered a whole bunch of different pastries to try. The Butter Croissant, Pain au Chocolat and Petit Pain au Chocolat were disappointing - didn't taste fresh or particularly good and parts of it was hard to chew (had to really pull with my teeth biting in). I even tried reheating them the second time I went to buy but not much better. The Apple Pie Bun looked better than it tasted. The Cinnamon Scroll and Pain aux Raisin were delicious though. I would go back again for both and perhaps try the other menu items.
Came here for the hot chocolate festival and got the “Thats My Jam” hot chocolate. The drink was absolutely delicious! However it was also $11 which in my option is way too much for a hot chocolate. Definitely worth a try but not something I would get often. The baked goods and other drinks also looked great, but we didn’t get a chance to try them. The place seems to have a line up so be prepared to wait in the cold!
The best (or maybe second best) almond croissant in the city! Dense and flaky at the same time. Scones are heavy, moist and delicious! All the other baking is heavenly as well. Peanut butter cookie sandwich is to die for. Beaucoup is very busy though and it is likely that after 4pm there will be nothing left! Very small space, not stroller friendly, but great park just across the street. Usually hard to find seating.
Pricy but worth it. Try the almond croissant or lemon tart, you won't regret it!
My favourite bakery in the city. Incredibly good. I had never heard of blondies before going into Beaucoup and now I love them. The chai lattes are nice and a bit spicy, and the hot chocolate is heaven. Also, the chocolate almond croissants are sooo good. Highly recommend.
Excellent choice for baked goods. It's nice that there's some seating right outside on the sidewalk with some patio seating in a temporary area
Quaint and small bakery and cafe. The almond croissants are simply amazing. Be prepared for a short wait and if you come too late, the croissants will be gone. Closed Mondays.
Beautiful Cafe, great sit down, amazing croissants, probably the best I have had in Vancouver. Love the place, would definitely go again!
My son took us here and it was absolutely the best croissant I have ever tasted. Fabulous cappuccino too. It is a small space so seating is limited. This place is a gem!!
Great coffee. Superb bake goods. Just s.azing with great hours
On the sweet side but so good. Great rendition of a kouign amann
Love this spot. Great staff, beautifully crafted baked goods, both classic and creative, and lovely mugs if you stay to enjoy your drink.
This bakery is amazing. Everything in this place taste so good. Feels like I’m in Paris. Go early tho, all the goods go pretty fast.
Beaucoup is consistently good and a neighbourhood gem. They have their staples, but they aren’t afraid to try new things. Their croissants are super buttery and flaky, the cookies are tasty and they also offer other small pantry items/gifts. The only knock is that it is pretty tight inside and you will be taking things to go. Check the hours and be prepared for a line up at certain times.
THE BEST ALMOND CROISSANT IN ALL OF BC! You have to try the butter croissant, It’s perfect! Flaky on the outside and soft and buttery goodness inside. The chocolate almond croissant is also a personal fave!! You could never go wrong at Beaucoup! You guys are awesome!
I went here on Sunday afternoon and was very disappointed with how unfriendly and arrogant the barista was (30's Asian man), but more disappointed at paying $5 for a lukewarm latte. I noticed several people in line ordering their lattes "extra extra hot" and later discovered that this place regularly makes their lattes below normal temperature, prompting people to order this way. This is absolutely ridiculous. Please train your staff how to make a proper latte and how to read a thermometer.
Not what it used to be... Sadly. The croissant are still good but the diversity of patisserie and that touch of art in the baking as well as the service is gone.
Exceptional pastries. I was so impressed with the Kouign Aman, I took one bite and went back and bought another.
Closest resemblance to a real French bakery in Vancouver. Great croissants and a nice neighbourhood feel. The place is tiny and configured strangely so you always feel like you’re in the way of someone. Their croissants, albeit delicious, are inconsistent. Some days they are perfect and light and buttery and some other days they are slightly burnt and dry. Same inconsistency to their coffee- their espresso is sometimes perfect/sometimes lacks crema and depth. Still I find myself taking friends and family to Beaucoup when they are in town.
Croissants are the best I have ever had! Authentic French Boulangerie
Fantastic place! As a first time visitor to Canada , I visited because I happened to run into an after work get-together of some crew and they were so nice, gold hearted and delightful. Seeing I am by myself, they asked me to join them and they really really made my day. They are a group of people who are definitely blessed.
I’m glad I don’t live in Vancouver any more. My Mom lives a block away, and I can’t resist stuffing my face with several of their pastries every time I visit.
I love all the pastries here and they have the best smoked salmon sandwiches. The only problem is that the staff has the worst attitudes but the owner's really friendly.
Heard people recommending for long and it’s true- their croissant is truly great! Definitely worth a try. But place is tiny and there is usually no place to sit.
Amazing quality. Only problem is that the pastries disappear way too quickly once you start eating. I would definitely recommend buying 2 minimum for yourself. (If you like to life dangerously...then buying 1 will do as well). I would recommend the regular butter croissant to start...followed by an almond croissant as your pre-dessert. Then followed by a kouign amann as your ending to the meal.
Their croissant size got cut in almost half at the same price! Supply and demand, I get it but 4 dollars for this stubby little thing ? Also not as crunchy and as fluffy on the inside as before. Steep decline in quality. What a shame.
Innovative and fun breads and pastries. Although for the inside yolk, the egg is a bit bland, the chili sauce inside detracted from the yolks natural richness. Also the wait can be a bit of a deterrent specially during covid!
Was pretty good, but I feel you need to pick you timing as when I went there wasn't much available. The eggplant sandwich was nice. I feel the pricing here is a little high, but hopefully they use top ingredients. Will be going back soon!
By bar the best bakery I've been to. Perfect croissants, like no other place. The chocolate almond croissant and the peanut butter cookie sandwich are my favorite!
Fantastic coffee and pastries. Freshly made. I love smelling them on my way to work in the morning.
The croissants are the best in the city. Too bad they sell out fast. The cafe is not stroller accessible (stairs right at the entrance and squishy) or kid friendly, but I still return for the delicious croissants.
Bakery not as good as before except scone. Service not good, rushing you to order. Twice , last time missing one, today missing two pastries but charged, unable to check because too busy and they rushing you to order, to pay and seems like you to leave the shop asap. Then, they hang me two boxes, one bigger and one smaller for the same amount of pastries but without offering me any bag too. The lady who took my order seems so annoying and no patient at all. Please check if you order more than a dozen before you leave the shop.
The croissants and the tropical scone are outstanding. As well, I really like the apple dessert with the gold flakes. The staff used to be unfriendly but the service has improved lately.
Went 2 weeks ago. Got their London fog to go. Big portion size. I love sweets but this was way too sweet for me. I'd suggest getting half sweet.
Used to be my go to place for croissant but the size has become smaller since the switchover, and I noticed most of the food are now covered with powdered sugar, not sure if that is necessary. Coffee has always been off here, need to improve big time.
A really nice bakery. They have great coffee and treats. Try their croissants. I like the chocolate croissant with a cup of dark roasted coffee.
I love this place as it shows the big franchises that you can be environmentally conscious. Paper straws, compostable cups oh my! I get takeout coffee here specifically instead of others for their earth-conscious choices - BONUS AMAZING COFFEE & TREATS
Really like this bakery and will be going back again for a visit. It's worth the trip if you can make it to the area. It is close to Granville Island so you can always get your food to go and then eat it on the water. I would recommend looking at a map first before going to make sure you find it. It's within walking or biking distance of Granville Island if you know ahead of time where to go.
Always a great selection of pastries, friendly staff. Have breakfast at Paul's around the corner, and come pick up something for tea...
The Kouign Amann was a bit hard to bite into. But still delish.
The place was very tiny but the pastries were out of this world! Will highly recommend it to friends. As a matter of fact heading there now. Wish the place is a bit bigger!
Most delicious and authentic frensh pastry! Everything is amazing but my personal favorite is the chocolate croissant! Together with a very well made delicious coffee ( I usually get a cappuccino) it's awesome. It's very small but even on a busy day it's worth it to wait a little longer!
I got the green tea and raspberry tart & the lemon peppercorn. The peppercorn gives the bar a very nice and surprising kick, in a good way :)
Come here often. The quality of the pastries is not very consistent. For example the bostok I got today..doesnt look very appetizing also tastes its overbaked.....yet I spend 20mins one way to come get this...should've paid more attention which pastry is being packed for me.... Similar experience have happened to other pastries I got here...suggestion: maybe only serve what’s worth the price and your reputation?
The best French baking this side of Paris. Creativity. Taste. Butter. All there. Memorable eating. Yum!
Delicious baked goods! My weekends wouldn’t be the same without this place.
YES! I found a decent pain au chocolat in Vancouver!! :D I know Vancouver is great for *most* food, but I have just never been satisfied with a croissants or a pain aux choc's until we popped into Beaucoup last weekend. The pastry was light, but buttery and flaked off like it should. The chocolate was also really tasty, super-dark and not too sweet. This really made my afternoon.
One of my favorite bakeries by far. Their chocolate almond croissant is incomparable to any others I've had! The only suggestion would be to have some smaller individual boxes for gifting Individual pastries.
