Nice blueberry bread !
(Translated) The crispy croissant was delicious (Original) サクサクのクロワッサン旨かった
Love this little bakery on granville island. They have by far the best non-gmo, organic bread I have ever brought home for the family. Feel good about what you feed your kids!
Super nice staff who give good recommendation! Funny names of the food they sell and really delicious brownies. Highly recommend :))
It is hard to say some bakery is the best of Vancouver, because there are lots of great bakeries in here, but at least, I would say this surely most be among the best ones. First of all, it is important to highlight the fact that everything in here is organic, and secondly; the pastries are extremely good. I'd recommend specialty the Salted Caramel Pudin and the Better than sex brownie. This is a stop I can't miss anytime I come to Grandville Island.
Fantastic certified organic bread. Try the roasted garlic and cheese and any of their great sourdoughs.
Served people behind us when my wife asked a question. Charged $2 for tap water that tastes like chlorine.
I can't fathom what would make these people think they can keep a loyal employee for five whole years and then not only dismiss them for a new labor force (not because of any committed wrong), but demanding that they train the new workforce replacements. With no severance. Businesses in British Columbia absolutely disgust me. YOUR. ???? WORKERS. ???? ARE. ???? HUMAN. ???? BEINGS.
So yummy!
Amazing croissants! Also, their pain du chocolat was amazing, too. The brownie was good. Loved the hazelnut inside, but it was a bit too sweet. I was lucky enough to get a scone right out from the oven! The sweetness was perfect but it was too cakey. Not really for me. The biggest disappointment, though, was that there were flies crawling on the baked goods...
Just good location Rude services
Nice location on Granville Island, Good bread
Plenty of baked goods to choose from, including croissants, cookies, scones, and brownies. They also have sandwiches and ice cream sandwiches. We went during the afternoon and there were still plenty to choose from. I had the pistachio and chocolate croissant. It was delicious. Very buttery, plenty of pistachio paste, and bits of chocolate. It's a bit pricier, but the quality makes up for it. It was around $6 for the croissant, but it is a pretty large pastry and worth the price.
It took an out of town houseguest of my roommate to remind me just how damn good the desserts are here. I'm re-hooked. And I've bought a lot of that tasty bread in the past. Dangerous that it's under a 10 minute walk from my house. ???? Sorry, the photos are of slightly smooshed but still exceedingly delicious pastries as I was on my bike.
Love love love- we go there every Saturday
Loved your chocolate cake. Would definitely revisit! :)
Bought the naked baguettes for a dinner party and they were a huge hit, had no idea everything is organic and now I won't buy my bread anywhere else.
Nice place more Sunday morning coffee)
I so badly wanted to like this place, but the chocolate chip cookie I got had a long hair baked right into it which was extremely nauseating and the chocolate bread I bough (while delicious) was covered in mould after 2 days. Better quality control would make this place totally awesome.
UPDATE: Was a little disappointed in my recent trip to A Bread Affair. I recommend sticking to their scones and cookies. Squash and walnut scone (4/5) Still as good as the last time I got it. Valrhona chocolate cookie (3/5) Not bad, I'm just personally not a fan of the added sea salt. Butter croissant (3/5) A decent croissant overall. Chocolate croissant (2/5) The butter croissant was better, as the chocolate lacked flavour. Mixed flavour shortbread (2/5) I had high hopes as the staff recommended this highly, but I didn't like the denseness of the shortbread and the flavours weren't that great. ORIGINAL: PB chocolate cookie (4/5) Nice, strong PB flavour and a good cookie overall. I enjoyed this. Walnut and squash scone (4/5) I prefer sweet scones, but this was not bad! It was nice and crispy on the outside, and moist on the inside. There wasn't really much squash or walnut flavour, it just tasted mildly salty and savoury. I would have enjoyed it more had it been a sweet scone though. Overall, this is a nice place to stop by and get some baked goods. Prices are reasonable for what you get.
Funky bread store / cafe
Love their Better-than-Sex brownies! Not too sweet, but has strong chocolate flavor. Love the naming, too :))
The best place to buy bread! They have great organic pastry, bakery, bread, coffee.. absolutely everything I've tried is delicious ????. My favorite is the banana bread pudding, which is a most, but cookies, croissant, sourdough are also delicious. Also it is located in a great place. Just perfect
Better than sex brownie?! Try it for yourself and see. Probably the best brownie I have ever eaten! And the peanut butter cookies. Amaaaaazing. Everything here is absolutely fantastic. Worth every dollar!
I never knew I needed chocolate bread until I walked into this place. Very good bread and pastries. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The prices are on the high end for bread, but hey it’s really good!
Nice falafel wraps.....
Good quality fresh bread can be found here.
(Translated) I confirm they have real and good croissants! Burger brioche egg / bacon ++ ^^ (Original) Je valide ils ont des vrais et bons croissants ! Burger brioché egg/bacon ++ ^^
(Translated) The richest bread in all of Vancouver, I highly recommend it. They have sweet and salty bread, the cakes and croissants are amazing. (Original) El pan mas rico de todo Vancouver, lo recomiendo muchísimo. tienen pan dulce y salado, los pasteles y croissant son increíbles.
The sandwiches are great
A loaf of bread will run you about $7.50 and is delicious.
Love the bread here. Always my go to bakery whenever I visit Grandville island.
Sandwiches are a great option for lunch.
(Translated) I had chocolate cupcakes it was too good my family and we even went to take several by (Original) J'ai pris des petit gâteau au chocolat c'était trop bon ma famille et nous sommes même été en reprendre plusieurs par
They sell bread. It's good bread.
Just had one of their chocolate chip cookies that I bought at the White Rock Farmers Market... absolutely divine! Will venture out to the store for sure to experience more!!
Treat their employees horribly.
Great spot for summer sandwiches. Especially with the outdoor performers just outside of their store.
Excellent baked goods, sandwiches, and ice cream sandwiches. It's always a great stop to make when at Granville Island.
Called ahead and they put aside a loaf of The Birds & The Bees, and one of the Nooner. Lots of yummy items in/on the display, and also some local jams. Very nice and happy service. They do offer to slice. Both breads were easy to slice at home. They had tender crusts. The Birds & The Bees had grains on top but also throughout the bread which gave it good texture. Nice shape too. I liked that one with just butter to bring out the sweetness. The Nooner was a traditional loaf shape. It was good with olive oil/vinegar and for sandwiches. Both loaves were light in taste for me. Will be back to try the sweet snacks. Daniel
Right in the heart of Granville Island, this is the best bakeshop in Vancouver! They have a huge variety of organic breads, baked goods, sandwiches, spreads, etc. The staff is super polite and friendly and prices are very affordable. If you love good bread then you will love this place.
Simply delicious.
Lots of good stuffs.
Rude staff. And masks are still mandatory at this establishment. Even if you are mask exempt from a doctor.
Great bread.
It was such a treat to buy a double baked almond croissant, thinking it only had almond paste in the middle to also have chocolate. Exactly what I was craving. However since it didn't mention chocolate, might be a concern for those who do not like or allergic to chocolate.
Great shop definitely worth the stop for the great bread and sandwiches.
My friend came across this unexpectedly when I was looking for an organic bakery. We grabbed a coffee and a load of pastries, mostly to go. A bit in the sweet side for me!
Highly recommend the pistachio croissant! (Even though the seagulls outside will try to snatch it from you ????)
Their ice cream sandwiches are something everyone should try once before they die. The salted caramel one is my recommendation.
Best cheese croissant ever!
New Granville Island store is awesome, the smell of fresh bread is extremely inviting. Friendly staff and a very good selection of organic and gmo free bread. Awesome cookies and the best croissants in town. The pre made sandwiches are really good to.
They always have samples, and very attentive staff. The ham and cheese croissant I had today had the best taste and texture! Totally worth the (I think) $4? It's hard to get croissants right so I'm impressed!
My favorite french bread shop
I binged on the tasters and they were incredible.. Butter chocolate chip cookies
Amazing for vegetarians
A Bread Affair has the best croissants and baguettes in the Lower Mainland. I am originally from France, have tried all the croissants and baguettes in town, and these are definitively the best!!!
This place is outstanding! I visited here in July 2019 and still think about the sandwich I got, the Sicilian; best I've ever had in my life! Everything in the shop looked so delicious I wish I could have tried it all! The smell of the shop is so intoxicating you can smell it before you even get inside the store. I highly recommend a visit here, you will not regret it!
I had the absolute pleasure of tasting their scones for the 1st time, just as they finished baking them. That first bite was heavenly...and my only regret was I didn't buy a 2nd one.
Has the turkey dressed sandwich, mini-pizza/cheese bread (son), and a salted caramel cookie sandwich for dessert. The sandwich was great and is an easy “go to” item when you are hungry 5/5. Pizza bread is a cheesy enough even for me 4/5. The salted caramel cookie dessert was something pretty fantastic 5/5. Would recommend all three. Service was on point 5/5. No problems here. Check it out if you get the chance.
Fantastic food and staff!
Great quality pastries and bread. They also have amazing sandwiches. I love their bread pudding and often take it to go and have it at home with tea. Croissants are quite good as-well, and a must try. Cookies are quite good too.
Amazing breads and pastries
The staff are friendly, the prices are reasonable and the manager Tanya is quick to assist if you received an over baked loaf. They ensure quality products always! Much appreciated!
Delicious bread and sweets with great customer service.
Excellent service, excellent bread and the best sandwiches in Vancouver, hands down! We were working in the area and before we knew it we were frequent visitors of little bakery treasure. Favourite sandwich is definitely the An Affair Club, so fresh and delicious!
Delicious breakfast sandwich and sourdough.
So glad to come across their stand at a farmers market. We got their apple of my eye bread and it's crazy good! Will be visiting their store location to try their other products
Long lines, the didn't have the bread I wanted
Very rude staff
Great bread! I like the French Kiss and not just because of the name :)
Great bread, yummy treats, great service.
Lovely bakery with lots of options of bread, all organic house made. Lovely!
This bakery sells a paper bag at $1 which quality is almost same as the grocery paper bag. In this Corona pandemic period, the policy to penalize the use of non-reusable bag is not acceptable. I do not recommend this bakery to buy any breads.
Delicious!
A Bread Affair has good bread, it sure does, however, behind the scenes they (specifically the owner, Tanya) treats her employees like trash. Not only does she make everyone walk on eggshells on a daily basis, she fired all the cleaners, including one that has been there for 5 years and made her train her replacement (a new cleaning company). There's just so much more, such as, if you're in the newly renovated beautiful Langley location, I'd avoid the espresso machine as it was once a mouse house merely a month ago. ???? Get a new machine.
If there was one thing I regret in all my years of living near Granville Island, it is almost certainly never visiting this outstanding bakery before a few months ago. A close friend of mine introduced me to the baked good within as a casual mid-day snack, but failed to properly disclose how absolutely delicious their products really are. For one, they are so fresh and fantastic that it is genuinely hard to believe that they haven't been taken fresh from the oven and served directly to customers. For another... well, all of their items manage to surpass the other in terms of how good they really are. I have never been one to go out of my way for something as simple as a sandwich, given the busy lifestyle that I chose to live. Yet... something about the menu here really is something else. Now I find myself deliberately going out of my way to enjoy something as simple as a ham sandwich. They are just that damn good. I have never been much of a sweet tooth either, but man is it difficult to practice self control and not purchase one of their amazing cookies or croissants. When you first see the term 'better than sex brownie', it is pretty easy to brush aside such a preposterous name as a clever marketing gimmick. That is, until you actually try them. Then you it is honestly pretty difficult to deny that all other brownies have essentially been spoiled for you. A Bread Affair also carries a special type of italian soda that is absolutely to die for. To top it all off, the atmosphere in this place is really great, with very friendly, helpful staff, and a relaxing ambiance that is best paired with a tasty morning scone. If you live near Granville Island, or just really want to try something special, I highly recommend you stop on by.
Great place for authentic, genuine, hearty bread. They also bake smiles!
I bought an ice cream sandwich here, and asked if they have water. I can’t believe they charged me $2 for literally giving me a paper cup of water. Edit #1: changed from 2 stars rating to 1 star, for the attitude of response from the owner. I have never seen poorer customer service than this. If I go into a gas station or Starbucks or Thierry to buy water I'd be well informed what I was paying for. Why not put “$2 filtered tap water poured by above minimum wage staff” on the menu board then? Absolutely ridiculous. Edit #2: Tanya - my original rating was 2 stars and it was not merely over the $2 that I paid for the water - it was the LACK OF COMMUNICATION from your staff about how much it would cost until after I paid and left just to realized I was charged without being told. With that said, I have no problem supporting local businesses because I am a frequent patron of other non-chain businesses on Granville Island. I have no issue paying for water if only your staff could just give me a heads up about how much that will cost before rushing off to pour me the cup of water, or I would have made an effort to walk back to my car to get my water bottle which I forgot to take with me. But hey, I'm just an angry, unreasonable customer for asking for water when buying your products, and it's totally wrong of me to even leave a review over this. I changed my rating to a 1 star only because of your rude response previously (which you have obviously deleted) and to give me a whole lecture of how businesses are run on Granville Island. Frankly, I've never encountered any other businesses (that are also eco-conscious and eco-friendly) on Granville Island with the same attitude and level of customer service as you. Their compassionate attitude towards customers is the main reason why I became a regular customer of those stores for their products and services.
(Translated) Whether hearty or sweet, the baked goods are fresh and delicious. A small bakery on Granville Island. (Original) Ob deftig oder süß, die Backwaren sind frisch und lecker. Eine kleine Bäckerei auf der Granville Island.
Their almond croissants come in regular almond or almond + chocolate. The regular almond one has a very good level of sweetness. Their butter croissant is alright too.
best bread in BC!
Proper delicious bread
Love their bread!
Yum
Best bakery in town, by far. Every time I visit I try something new and it never disappoints, plus they use organic ingredients only. All the loafs I’ve tried have amazing taste and freshness. If you’re a chocoholic do try their “better than sex brownie” and their pain au chocolate. So much respect for this place.
(Translated) When I entered the store, a strong aroma of bread came out. The specialty product ice cream sandwich. I chose a few croissants. The taste is quite good. (Original) 进店一阵浓郁的面包香味扑鼻而来 特色产品冰淇淋三明治 选了几款可颂 口感相当不错
Probably the best bakery on Granville Island...if not all of Vancouver. Fresh fresh fresh organic bread and the baked goods are too die for. We love this place!
We just discovered this little gem and my goodness, we are obsessed! From the loaves to the baked goods to the staff...this place tastes and feels like home! We brought home the True Love loaf (my new favourite bread EVER) with the cashew spread and also treated ourselves to the ginger cookie (OMG!) and sticky toffee pudding...just wow. Can't wait to go back, 5 stars all the way!
Tastes to me like 3 stars. I expected more.
A cute little bakery on Gransville with a good range of products to eat in and take out. I wish they'd increase the range of vegetarian and vegan savory options as the only vegan sandwich is falafel which is mostly always sold out.
Bought home some pastries from this place .... Their Double Baked almond croissant doesn't seem Doubled baked.. it's more like almond paste that is sandwiched in a butter croissant .. I also purchased their scone. I liked the scone.
It’s difficult to find a place on Granville island to get a bite that won’t break the bank so I thought I’d grab a quick sandwich here. Very reasonable prices, fast service, and the food was great! I sat outside and listened to the busker while I ate, it was a great experience!
I had a scone which was very dry and ham&cheese croissant which was ok but could have more ham and cheese too...
Come here if you like to stand in line and watch incompetence. I wish I could give a review on the food, but after 20 minutes of standing in line behind 2 people, watching the staff chat with each other and one staff member making numerous attempts at pouring a soda (!), I just gave up.????
Amazing bakery. Especially there croissants. Great service.
The breads here are delicious! We tried a couple of their croissants, and they were all good. The breads are soft with just the right amount of sweetness and flavor.
Got hooked by the scent of products. But the names of their bread is just too funny, in which I may add and emphasize as an effective attention grabber! Ended up getting the double baked pistachio croissant and pink lemonade. Little bit pricey but its good. Should’ve taken a photo but it was pouring and was hungry :P
Delicious baked good, must try!
Ok scone and mini pizza. Better options around for the money
This an organic bakery with deliciously different baked goods.
Meh cookies
Good almond croissant and pain au chocolate. Baguette is ok.
Safety
The loveliest bakeshop in Vancouver! The bread selection is HUGE, the staff is so nice and they always have tons of samples.
I got cheese campagne and pain de chocolat, hmm, to be honest I didn’t expect that much, but it surprised me. The breads are really good. I would buy more bread in next time
wow!!! i had the bread pudding, sis had ginger blueberry scone - fresh and delicious. cute huge friendly seagulls everywhere... i'll come here again and again. the lineup is so worth it and the cashier with the braids and pink mask was so friendly.
Delish
Great selection of bread, first time to the shop. Price is set for the tourist, which means me. Looking forward to trying the selection with family.
We were visiting from Texas and decided to give this place a shot. I am very glad that we did. The sandwiches were great and everything seemed very fresh.
The BEST focaccia!! Skinny Dipper for life! ????????????♥️
I almost always grab a loaf of the organic sourdough (Cheeky) when I'm in Granville Island. I've never had any of the sweets but the sandwiches a great if you're looking for a quick bite. Staff have always been friendly and helpful every time I've been there.
Great People making Quality Bread
A Bread Affair is located in Granville Market, situated on its own, away from the Public Market. Counter-service for scones, croissants etc. Other fresh-baked bread is in bags ready to grab and go. Order counter for sandwiches & wraps and ice cream & coffee. Busy most of the time. Friendly staff.
We went on a Friday morning and the store was busy (which is always a good sign!), everything looked so yummy and fresh. We got some brioche bread, double baked croissants and the valhrona cookies. Everything was delicious!! The staff was courteous and handed out lots of samples. Our new favorite bakery...the bread is just to die for and it's all organic and gmo-free ???? ???? 10 stars!
Amazing bread (try the Wild Thing!), amazing baked goods, and if I lived closer I'd be here every day!
Their new location at Granville Island, in the old La Baguette spot is awesome! They just need a little more product to help fill such a large space.
Been getting bread and sandwiches here since it opened as both my jobs are in its vicinity. It's really hard to walk by on a week-end morning because it smells SOOOOOO GOOOOOOD! It's all GMO free and organic and they have a really cool bread with a rare type of wheat. Amazing bread, and grab to go sandwiches. I really like the everything.
A really nice bakery, all kinds of breads and treats. They also have a small sandwich-type shop. Staff was really nice, they sliced the sourdough bread for my wife and I. It is a must visit at Granville Island.
The best bread. Recommend the olive bread. Also the sandwiches. Turkey in a dress is my fav!!
Can’t be beat as this place is one of a kind. Lovely baked goods and breads.
Right in the heart of Granville Island, an organic bakery with the most amazing baked goods!! Obsessed with their marquis wheat bread (called True Love) and croissants.
Discovered A Bread Affair at the New West Farmers Market and purchased their Three's Company bread and a few baked goods. WOW. So delicious and I love that their ingredients are all local and non-gmo. Will be back for more!
Absolutely fabulous bakery with awesome staff!
I've had several instances of rude counter staff. This last Saturday they were playing explicit rap music. I don't think this is appropriate for Granville Island on a Saturday morning. I find shopping here painful.
Located in Granville Island, this bakery is the first place I go to when exploring the island. The staff are friendly, and the place always smell wonderful! Festive and bright, this bakery serve a variety of different items including vegan bread, traditional croissants and awe-inspiring chocolate treats. I recommend their brown butter cookie with fleu-de-sel, an instant hit with my friends.
it's pricey but the food they create is all amazing!
Really good
Okay. Every time I go in here I look for the cookie with icing in the middle. Sometimes it’s there, and sometimes it’s not. When it’s not there are still tons of things to get like awesome scones and bread pudding slices. But the cookie is my favourite. It is everything you need in a cookie: two cookies with icing and a cheeky hidden caramel blob inside. You need this in your life.
Super yummy as always not to long of a wait considering worth a look see
Delicious! You Have to try the maple butter tart. ???? An extra star for being organic.
Nice fresh made bread, wish there were gluten free options however.
Delicious bread, loved the vegan wrap and the house made gingerale
So there's Granville Island, and there's A Bread Affair. Ps. You are doing god's work. If you can just take a peak outside your front door, to that magical view, along with the music playing by the street artists, enjoying by the crowd, each holding a pastry, that sacred pastry you provided. Pps. If you want to have closer salary to Bill Gate, I suggest you start selling beverages.
I asked twice if a squash scone had nuts and was told twice it did not. Took one bite and knew something was wrong. It had walnuts in it. Brought it back to the cashier and he reiterated - no, the scone doesn’t have nuts. When I asked him to double check since I could feel myself having an allergic reaction he checked with someone else who told him - yah, there are walnuts. This guy didn’t apologize, didn’t ask if I was ok, just grabbed the scone from me and aggressively asked what I wanted instead. I felt like I was an inconvenience. I won’t eat there again and if you have allergies I wouldn’t recommend it, they don’t take it seriously or appear to care.
They have all kind of organic stuff you would like to find in a bakery... and everything is good, made with very good ingredients. My favorite is the cookie with Valrhona chocolate. Yummy :)
One of the best croissant in town
Great bread and cookies. I love going here with my kids and getting a treat.
Best bread in BC
Delicious and always fresh. Love the bread this apt has to offer
The staff here is super helpful and friendly and the food is absolutely to die for I will definitely be back and recommend everybody grab lunch here!
As a tourist visiting Granville island for the first time I was surprised by the volume of people visiting this place. Since this bakery is ideally situated just outside the main market next to a small square less people visit it. The bread was prepared fresh from the oven and was delicious. Definitely worth the (short) wait.
Really tasty fresh bread, the scones and almond croissant also lovely
Popular spot. Good ingredients used in simple food items.
Why go anywhere else for your bread.....
An artisan bakery specializing in pastries (both savory as well as desserts), breads, rolls and plenty of sandwiches. The blueberry scone and pastry with hazelnut cream and drizzled with lots of chocolate were fresh, well made, very tasty and unique. We were back 2 hours later to buy a few savory items that we saw but they were already sold out. If you see an item that you liked, buy it since it might be gone if you'LL look for it later...
Employees couldn't have tried less to help us. It also looks like a third world country inside.
Delicious but pricey
The salted caramel cookie sandwich is sooooo good!!!
Best peanut butter cookies in the world!
I ordered the French Ham and Edam sandwitch which I was told is one of their most popular sandwiches but I don't see the hype. It tasted like a standard ham and tomato sandwitch. The rye wasnt bad but everything else in the sandwich was so basic! Ham tasted like all the black forest ham in any store, tomatoes and spring mix used didn't have any special touch and was extremely basic. Slightly disappointed
Great pastries, great bread. Yummy!
they need to go back to baking school!
Rude service and have next to no knowledge of the products they sell.
Definitely one of the best bakeries in Canada! Much love and thank you for sharing your passion with us.
Delicious assortment of breads, sandwiches, and treats. My favourite is their whole wheat sour dough and the vegetarian breakfast sandwiches.
I cannot understand how anyone can give this bakery a 1 star! My husband and I live in Spain and it is our first visit to Granville island. The sandwiches were juicy and tasty ( I had the Turkey with cranberry and my husband the Turkey with bacon and cheese. We also treated ourselves to a cookie each. Absolutely delightful!
Great place to grab some bread and other goodies. a little disappointed with the Grilled Veggie Panini - too small and just kind of falls apart when you eat it but of all the stuff I've tried here, this was the only issue I've had. If you like Ginger ale, you must try the House Made Gingerale - it's really good. All in all, always a good experience with delightful staff.
Its a garbage store with garbage staff. Plus i saw mice in the store. The other reviews on this website are fake. This store is the worst. I wouldnt eat hear again, it isnt food safe
Make this your proper bakery bread destination (skip cobs). Creative delicious breads along with the classics and delicious pastry selection
The absolute best cookies, scones, and sandwiches on Granville Island. Our office also had one of their chocolate cakes which was fabulous, not too sweet but deliciously chocolate. There's many other things I haven't tried...
Awesome eats served up by super friendly workers! We got the turkey with dressing on cranberry bread and it was delicious. Great cookies too!!! I don't remember exactly which cookie I got but it was oatmeal and THE BEST cookie I've ever had. And I'm a total sweets snob. So good we went twice in two days.

Oh how far the location has fallen=gone is the French Bagette, complete with a wide range of breads. cookies to die for, tarts and sweets, replaced= by this low grade bakery whose bread isexpensive, not great and there is very little else to buy. I did buy 3 types of chocolate cookies at $2 a piece=big mistake. They were horrible and now I will never go back to this location again!
The best brioche loaf for french toast!
Lovely sandwiches, coffee could be a tiny bit hotter
Delicious brownies and cookies. The breads looked amazing too.
Lovely people and amazing Bread!!!!!!!!!!
Check out the blueberry and hazelnut bread....so good!
Good baked goods! Tried the salted caramel bread pudding and a cheese puff pastry. Very flavourful!
Great food and helpful staff.
stinky bread
Ate here yesterday. We got a butter tart and a double baked pistachio croissant which were both delicious. Also got a loaf of sourdough which was awful. Kind of a bummer because I’ve had other bread from them before and it was pretty good.
They make good bread here, the cookies are delicious too. The “better than sex” brownies, well, it’s pretty good, but really depends what kind of sex you’ve had, so it’s totally subjective.
Excellent selection of croissants. Very transparent shop with their history etc
Super Yummy!!! ????
I love this place and their bread. And the woman who helped me make a purchase was lovely. Amazing.
Not as good as I was hoping... my olive loaf was a bit stale
We love coming here for a sandwich and a loaf of fresh bread.. always soooo good! support local! Support organic! And you have to try thier jams!!! Soo good!! Also, if it's your first time coming you've got to try a sandwich. My favorite is Brie and Avocado on a croissant..yummy! Today was perfect weather to have one too just so comforting for a nice cool day when they come right out if the oven ☺
Top quality artisan bread. Will find nothing like it in Vancouver.
Awesome service and delicious baked goods. Made fresh all day
Too pricey to slow not to tastey
I love their love bird loaf.
Very busy, delicious cake. Biscuits for later. Will go back is I'm ever back in town.
DO NOT GET THE LITTLE BAGS THE INK WILL RUB OFF AND DESTROY YOUR CLOTHES. I am so livid right now. The ink from the bag rubbed off on my hands and I touched my hat my shirt my phone case and it stained everything.
The sourdough' dare mediocre at best
Nice assortment
I have been a customer for a while now and I am in love. I typically don't respond well to bread, but this bread doesn't cause a reaction in me, I think cause its made with organic clean ingredients! Its SOOOO good! I highly recommend!
Granville Island Location: Great breads! Great cookies - especially the chocolate chip and the double chocolate walnut - but the best of all are their Croissants - both the plain and petit pain au chocolat - both worth every calorie they contain; if you are going to eat those calories they had better be quality calories and these definitely are very high quality calories!- the croissants are a deep golden brown colour and have a slightly crusty exterior with a soft, fresh and moist flaky interior without being so dry and excessively flaky that they fall apart to the touch. The Bread Affair Croissants are better than any I've had in Montreal and Montrealers say theirs are better than they get in France! CONCLUSION: Bread Affair's croissants are better than you can get in France! Try the Bread Affair, they won't disappoint - the friendly, knowledgeable staff and the high quality baked goods make this a place you don't want to miss on your next visit to Granville Island. If you want the croissants or petit pain au chocolat; get them early, before 4.30 - 5 pm because they run out as they did today, midweek - a Wednesday, at 4-5 pm. Croissants are much better than those offered by La Baguette who previously occupied this space at Granville Island before the building was gutted by fire. The young people who work here appear to be very happy to serve their customers and make alternative product suggestions taking into account the customers' preferences and tastes.
Great sandwiches, good bread, and friendly staff!
I stopped by this store. The ambiance and the staffs are very nice. Unfortunately, the cookies which I bought were too sweet and salty for me. I understand that salt makes sweet tastier but I prefer very subtle way.
The staffs are so kind and The bread tastes great.☺
They offer a great selection of organic bread and pastries. Cheese pillows, baked potato and cheese scones, blueberry lemon and ginger scones are particularly good and cannot be found elsewhere in Vancouver. Chocolate bread is another amazing item which is available on weekends only. Don't think of going to this place if you are on a low carb diet, coz you will then feel guilty :)
Their toffee cookies are aptly named Crack cookies.... because they are addictive as hell. A must have if you're hitting Granville Island
Tasty sandwiches
Many times I have been slightly disappointed since the food looks so amazing (exception: maple tart that a seagull stole:)
one word. amazing! go and thank you me never
Just had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. It was dry and there was no sauce of any kind on it at all. Wouldn’t order a sandwich again. Customer service was good.
Just started using a bread affair's brioche buns, ciabatta and other products at one of our pubs. Phenomenal quality! Couldn't be happier!
Great bread, highly recommend!
Wonderful breads
A seagull stole my plain au choclat right out of my hand and they kindly gave me another for free! thank you!!!!!
Delicious chocolate chip cookie
Truly delicious lunch today! A perfect ham sandwich. Crazy delicious coconut Italian soda. And 3 chocolate chip cookies that were actually so good that I'm still delirious. Anyone who knows me knows that I have excessively high standards. I rarely bother posting reviews but this lunch deserved it. What a nice surprise to discover a place with such thoroughly impressive service and food!
(Translated) Very good, very fresh and delicious. The cream cookie is amazing. (Original) Très bon, tres frais et delicieux. Le biscuit à la crème est incroyable.
Thank you God of bread!
We always grab a loaf of fresh bread from here when we go to Granville island. The chocolate bread is deliciously sweet with candied orange flavours!
So delicious!!!!!
This place has every bread craving you can have.
Hazelnut and chocolate croissants are fresh and amazing
