Black Bart The Poet

This used to be an old furniture shop with a cool old rocking chair in front. That's not relevant to this rating, I just miss the chair. This current store is much more useful than that one. Although it's called EuroMax, it's a Polish store. It has great cold cuts, hot foods, desserts, treats, and everything else you could need. You don't need to be Polish to go here, but it helps. My wife doesn't like the bitter cold cut ladies.

This is a quaint little European grocery shop with items you cannot find in big box stores. The staff are friendly and willing to help. The food is fresh and well worth the price. There is a little shop below if you are looking for knickknacks and such which is quite nice as well.

Milk spoiled on opening but couldn't make it back to return. Cold cuts slimy 2 days after purchase. Sub par service as they regularly pass you off to other employees and rarely acknowledge you unless you're staring at them for several minutes. The donuts and sealed/canned products are good. Store is tiny, over packed with products and VERY uncomfortable to shop inside especially when there are more than 2 clients in the store. You get 2 stars because the prepared food is 95% of the time properly made and relatively fresh.

My go to store for all my polish grocery needs. They have a fantastic selection of fresh deli, sausages, cheese, cakes/donuts and bread. I buy all my perogies here too... Way better than the ones you get a a regular supermarket.

Love this store and go to it every opportunity i get. I discovered them 30 years ago and have never been disappointed. I no longer live in the area, so for me to go i really have to go out of my way. I love thier little deli section food is authentic european, tastes like my moms and its nice not having to cook it. Great selection of smoked meats and other European foods that most stores do not carry. Staff is always nice and friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Small store with oversized inventory. Everything is clustered, hard to find. They cannot handle more than 2 people at the cold cuts counter. Basically if you just wait for your turn silently, you will wait forever. No real line organizing. Maybe on a week day, not on weekends shipping.

Hi. Unfortunately the fresh produce is not so fresh. The small cucumbers for pickling are old and rotten. After soaking them in cold water and cleaning all is left is good for garbage. Dill is also old and dry. Advice for others. Check the produce or get better and cheaper at Fortinos.

A small Eastern European grocery store offering a selection of imported goods (snacks, sweets, water and mineral water). I mostly go here to buy fresh yeast when baking bread. It's always nice and fresh and in supply. They also have a good selection of salami, hams and cheeses, as well as fresh pastries, bread (my favourite is corn pumpkin bread) and prepared foods (schnitzel, potato pancakes, cutlets). They also sell a selection of polish newspapers and home items such as mugs, medicine, books and other. It a tiny store, and it can get pretty busy.

They've got a wide assortment of dried, cured, smoked, etc. sausages here each tastier than the next. It was also pretty surprising to see the variety of general foods and deserts packed into such a small building. We found some really great perogies, a chocolate nutella cake, fish fillets and sauces I hadn't seen since my trip to Europe. Definitely left with more than I had expected to.

I love this place! As soon as l walk in, l am greeted by the fragrant aroma of delicious European food. There is a good selection of smoked sausages, hams, salami, wursts, fresh meats, prepared foods. The delectable baked goods are the closest thing to old country breads, pastries, cakes, strudel. Delicious and fresh! They also have a good selection of fine chocolates, condiments, jams, honey. And the biggest selection of herbal teas very reasonably priced that l have seen anywhere. The staff are very friendly and helpful so don't be afraid to ask if you are looking for something in particular. This Euromax is Brampton's only remaining European store and deli. It is the only place l where l can find the kind of apple strudel made with grated apples and lots of cinnamon in a super flaky filo pastry, like my Mother and Grandma used to make. This is a good sized store with an extensive selection of European foods, and specialties. Highly recommend it!! :)

The reason I am giving a 1 star to the location at Hurontario, its because during a pandemic where everyone who is in a store must have a mask on. Half of the workers did not have their masks on properly or non at all. If you can't wear a mask you should have at least a plastic shield on. While I was waiting in line, the customer beside me decided to pull her mask to her chin, touch her face and continue to have a conversation with the serving lady. The sales lady did not even say, can you please put your mask back on. The woman who was sorting cheese, touched her nose where the mask was barely there, then touched the cheese. Yum. Even if there was no pandemic, you don't do that. Its absolutely disgusting. Then we wonder why the infection rate is going up. Right at the cashier they had a display of cut up bread with butter, and this is where the most action takes place. Wow, someone really thought this process through. I hope this changes in the store soon.

Probably one of the best deli's to go to. All of their sausages and cold cuts are made and cured in local sources and they are not packaged in water or preservatives. This is real, fresh, top notch products. Traditional European products and the prices are reasonable for most things. Staff is fantastic. And the sweets and dessert section is by far the most amazing. Lots to choose from. I get fat just by looking at it! Fresh baked goods too! Try the Traditional Polish donut, Ponchki. Your welcome!

Ordered food from the catering line to try out. The chicken with ham and cheese was good and the cheese cakes were delicious. The food has a homemade taste to it, it's not restaurant quality by any means but tasty enough using everyday available ingredients. Some of the dishes are hit and miss so I would recommend tasting before you buy in bulk

Which I honestly figured no one could beat but damn Karpaty knows how to cook AUTHENTIC POLISH COMFORT FOOD!!! This Mississauga Hurontario St south of Dundas St (W/E) European grocery store is located in the middle of a very busy plaza. The store interior is very crowded and moderately lit. No shopping cart here because there's no room to maneuver one. Every inch of space is utilized for displaying something that I found myself constantly bumping into other customers. One lady chose not to wear a mask and store employees never said anything to her while she waiting at the deli counter. I just quickly walked away. I have never heard of most grocery brands found here but it's amazing what you can purchase in a can or jar. It was an education that there's a big world out there beyond North America. Will return another day to get some pastries since the Saturday line-up was too crazy for my liking. Staff seemed efficient processing customer requests from behind the deli and pastry counter. Keep your eyes alert because the parking lot is a beehive of activity with people scurrying about.

Bad experience with cake, it was old and tasted like it's been sitting there for a month. NOT COMING BACK because staff were unwilling to solve the problem. Receipt states that refunds can be done within only 24 hours, I came back the next day and they refused to exchange it for something else or refund it. Zero customer service skills. There's so many other Easter European stores, I'll shop at Starsky instead and never coming to this place!

TERRIBLE SERVICE! I ordered a honey cake 2 days in advance for a birthday and went to pick it up and they told me that there is no cake because the cake was not delivered to them, even though when I called them they told me that ordering in advance is unnecessary because they always have that cake. They didn't even call me before I drove there to tell me that the cake won't be available. Not to mention their horrible customer service on the phone when I called asking about the size of the cake their response was "I don't know how to describe it."

Experienced chaos, employees didnt know anything, kept disagreeing with eachother on the most simple stuff, one lady even snapped on a customer, when I was trying to listen in, an employee got angry with me .. hot lunch? Make sure you get your 10 % discount on prepared food. Cashiers seem to avoid apply the discount even though it’s advertised on a big board as you walk in. Not that impressed with the prices . Much cheaper in Mississaugua Starskys. Also fresher stuff no hot entrees

Twice I purchased chicken drumsticks , when i got home and started to wash them to make soup for my child noticed they had a bad smell. decided to wash them and see if it was just chicken water but the smell was from the drumsticks itself. They have quite a variety of products I've never seen before but it's worth the trip just to see what they have. They have a sweets counter, Deli counter, and cold items such as salads and meal items. They also have a great frozen sections with a wide selection of perogies. They also have baked goods. They can be a bit pricy on some items, but you just need to shop around.

Love going to this store....very European! Just love the smell of smoked meats when you enter the store. They have a good selection of cold meats and some they smoke themselves. Prices are very reasonable. The bakery has authentic European baked goods but are on the expensive side but nonetheless are still delicious. Would not hesitate recommending this store!

The worst bakery I have ever visited in my life. I took four type of cakes and pastries. Everything tasted too stale. As if they were at least 10 days old. I wasted over 30 dollars. Threw everything in garbage ! Longos or fortinos bakery items are way way better. I wish I could give double zero or nil star !

The customer service at this place is terrible!Every now and then I come by to buy some of the specialty Polish grocery items when I get the craving. When I get to the register no hi’s or bye’s just some grumpy glares. It’s really offending. Even when I look through the aisles no assistance is given. You guys should step up your game or the end of this business is near!

Love the atmosphere and food but the prices are high. I understand it's hard to compete with Fortino's across the street. The Poles support it and anyone of European background will recognize the smells and food of this quaint deli and pastry place. The cakes we bought for Easter were very fresh and tasty. They were sold out of dinner rolls (at $.70 apiece!)

I moved out of Brampton three and a half years ago and I enjoy shopping at euromaxx so much that when I'm in the area I always stop Hands down they have the best selection of pickles I've ever seen in my entire life The deli counter is always incredibly well-stocked. And the staff is always eager to help me pronounce whatever cold cuts I would like to try. I also think that they have the best rye bread I've ever had!

First of all I would state that this is a great European grocery store. One of the few still left in Brampton. The cold cuts selection is superb!! So is the sweet counter. I am a customer of Euromax for at least a decade. I hope the owners are going to read this post. Unfortunately today I had a horrible experience at the cold cut counter. An elderly gentlemen served me with limited English. That is not a big problem as language barriers can be resolved, however his knowledge of the products he was serving was extremely limited. I had to try at least 3-4 times to point out what I wish to buy and confirm several times how much I wish to buy. He sliced the cold cut and placed to the scale one slice by one slice. It lasted 10 minutes to cut and scale 300 grams of cold cut. Then he started to arrange the counter for other several minutes before he handed me the wrapped cold cuts. I wanted to buy more items but I just gave up and left. Please owner(s) watch who you going to entrust with service. I will be still a loyal customer, but I do not want to go through this experience again.

Who doesn't love European veal wieners or smoked pork hocks??? My only wish is that they'd carry more cream filled pasties instead of custard filled.

I’m writing on behalf of my mom and her experiences... she’s come to this store a few times and it’s now been the 3rd time that she left less than impressed. One incident she bought a raw chicken and when I got home and unpacked it was smelly old chicken! She brought it back the next for a refund. I came once before 9pm (I even called ahead to ask if they are still open as this was during the pandemic and she knew many stores had shorter hours) when She asked the deli ladies for cut slices they rolled their eyes and complained that they already cleaned the machines and why would she come so late. She let the manager know and she basically defended her staff. Today she went in nobody was wearing their masks properly. Everyone had theirs below their chin. She told the lady serving that she was wearing her mask improperly and my mom got yelled at that they can’t be expected to wear masks all day! (Mind you, my mom is an essential service work that has worked throughout the entire pandemic and not only has to wear masks all day everyday, she has to wear a shield over her face and a gown. After my mom left she saw the manager run outside to see who she was? I’m not sure. Anyway, very unprofessional and I will not bereturning or recommending anybody to go here.
