Located in Pape Avenue, this place is a gem that specializes in European desserts in reasonable prices. I was looking for dessert places in town being new in this country and I came across this place which honestly blew me over! I Visited their store and bought the items myself. The store is quite spacious and the staffs are really great. What I bought: ????Baklava Cheesecake ????Mocha slice ????Mini Tiramisu ????Mini chocolate Kok ????Choco Vanilla Slice I specially loved the Cheesecake, mocha slice and Kok. The other items were delicious too and all of them literally melts in your mouth. I would love to visit again and try out different other items as they also have a variety of cookies, ice creams, chocolates and sweets to choose from.

Serano Bakery sells good pastries, but I would not recommend ordering a custom cake from here if you have an eye for aesthetic detail and if you can tell the difference between quality and amateur baking. I figured since they are always busy they MUST be good, so I decided to support this local business and order a custom cake for a BaByQ we were having. I'm sorry to say that I was quite disappointed with a couple of things. Firstly, I gave them an inspiration photo, and they immediately admitted that they weren't going to be able to replicate the design exactly as I wanted. I decided to go with them anyway, because the price was decent. When I saw the cake, though, I was first thrown off by the colour. They interpreted the beige/brown cake in the photo as a muted pink...not the same. What's more, the details on top were EXTREMELY boring and flat. The piping lacked dimension and creativity. Secondly, the quality of baking was not what I expected. The cake was super dry (almost burnt on the edges) and the buttercream lacked any sort of flavour or substance. Since then, I've provided the same inspiration photo to another caterer/cake artist out of town, who blew me away with her skill in both developing the design to suit my needs and produce a deliciously moist cake with velvety smooth and tasty buttercream. This was the proof I needed that my expectations were not at all unreasonable. Again, their pastries are delightful, but I cannot say the same about their custom cakes.

Delicious croissants, cheesecakes, bakhlava, mille-feuille, bread, cheese-filled pastries, custard cakes, etc. Service can be slow on weekends, but they always have fresh products and bread. Some ladies can be a bit rude, but the deliciousness of the desserts cancel all that out. 9/10 recommend!

We are almost two years in a pandemic and these people continue to ignore that we are still in a pandemic. Even though they know that there is a high demand for a bread called Vassilopita (New Year) and Tsoureki (Easter) they wait until the last two days for making them, thus generating huge waiting lines outside and everybody is all jammed up inside a Tempo shelter (2x50) like sardines. Plus there is a limit of 5 people at the same time in the bakery (government requirement). So two couples go in at once, you can do the math. This bakery has an established (guaranteed) clientele so they can do whatever they want. I figure someone has to be extremely desperate to wait in line for bread and put his and other peoples' health at risk. I went to another bakery nearby.

Ordered a black forest cake for NYE 2021 from Serano Bakery via Uber Eats and was pleasantly surprised. The icing wasn't over the top, the chocolate sponge was moist, and the crushed cherries and cream slapped between the layers was just right. I didn't speak to anyone at the shop but the packaging was really neat as well and seemed to say that they cared about the product they were selling and were proud of their work. I'll definitely buy from them again.

Its cheaper to buy a freshly made cake and customized to your taste. All my birthday's and special events cakes are ordered here.???? keep up the good work Serano. The best part is you can buy your cake a week or few days prior to your event put it in your fridge and it will still taste as delicious and fresh, not one of your guests will be able to tell it has sited in your fridge for few days.

Well I ordered a birthday cake for my son’s 7th birthday at Serrano bakery which is so far the worst cake we’ve ever received from a pastry shop. The quality and taste were horrible and the cake colour and the sponge of the layers were soft like cotton candy. We were very disappointed and certainly not recommended this place. to spoil the special occasion where everyone standing to celebrate eagerly when it comes to cake we all looked in to each other faces with a question of What the heck is this cake????

Edit to add: I rang the bell multiple times while waiting near the window. I preordered a cake a few days ahead and paid in full. They advertised a pick up window and even had signs that said if you pre-paid then go to the window. I stood there for over 15 minutes and was ignored. I watched someone enter the parking lot. Park on the sidewalk. Then went back and moved to another spot. That person stood in line and entered the store before I was handed my order. 2 different staff members walked by the window without even acknowledging me. I don’t care how good your product is. Customer service goes a long way.

Now I was I feeling a bit intimidated! There was a long line and a huge packed interior. The staff were incredibly helpful and I left with two boxes of pure sweetness! They give out tickets and you go up when you see your number is up. You select which items you want from each display. I ended up selecting a few and just asking for some of their favs. The pistachio baklava was one of the best I've had. I was amazed at how delicious everything was. Don't hesitate to come here, worth the reputation as one of the best bakeries in the city!

Serano Bakery is one of the most popular Greek bakeries in Toronto. It is large establishment with a huge selection of sweet and savory products that still maintains a “family business” atmosphere, clean and well organized. It can get very busy at times - specially during the summer days. The staff can get a little overwhelmed but, for the most part they are friendly and diligent. They are active on social media which keeps your cravings up-to-date along with sneak-peeks behind scenes.

A local bakery with a huge variety of cakes and other pastries. Everything looked amazing. They even have a gelato bar with fantastic flavours. Definitely a busy bakery because it's such a community favorite but they have safe protocols in place such as plexiglass, employees wearing masks, and social distancing markers. They also have a limit capacity to ensure social distancing measures. If you order ahead of time there is a window for you to pick up your order. Highly recommend this local bakery.

Over the weekend, my aunt picked up some sweets for my family from Serano Bakery in North York, Toronto. It is a well-renowned 1994 bakery specializing in European pastries, desserts, custom cakes, and imported fine foods. What I love about this place is that it is a family-run business with promises to ‘deliver the freshest products made from wholesome ingredients’. We got many Minis pastries including the Mango Square ~ with Vanilla sponge and mango cream, topped with a mango glaze; Mini Mille-Fueille ~ layers of puff pastry with custard cream, topped with icing sugar; Trigona ~ Filo dipped in syrup, filled with custard cream and topped with crushed almonds. I also got many more Mini Pastries including: Vanilla, LG Baba, Lemon Square, White Chocolate, and Pistachio. If you're a sweet tooth, check out this place if you ever are in the area! This bakery is a bit of a staple near the Danforth. Its a very Greek establishment with ablot of the desserts and pastries directly from the Greek cuisine (or heavily inspired by). They have easily over 40 different types of treats and the selection is killer. They also seem to have a bit of a more rustic grocery area nearby which is also very good.

Love Love this place! Always stocked, honest and friendly environment! If you are looking for traditional Greek pastries or something a bit different, this is the place to try. It's also a great place for their Greek Dodoni Feta, their home made Taramosalata and Tzatziki. If you want a great cheese for pasta, you might want to try their dry Mizithra is gives your pasta a complete different texture and saltiness to it. Kids love it as well! Their Olives are always fresh and so is their bread. The elders used to buy a loaf of fresh warm bread, drizzle olive oil on a slice of it, cut a tomato in half and squeeze the juice on top, dice up some fresh garlic and sprinkle over take a bite as is or add some feta on top...a side of olives goes nicely as well ........yum! It's still good centuries later!

Edited during COVID: Unfortunately, the staff do not seem to care at all when customers remove their masks. Not only did I witness an unmasked customer talking within feet of food and other customers, but also speaking directly at an employee, who will then be in direct contact with food. This is disgraceful and is putting other customers at risk. Maskless customers should be kicked out without being served.

If you want to experience genuinely how "overwhelmed" feels like, come to Serano and pay close attention to your pulse rate and excitement level as you step in to the bakery, that feeling is "overwhelmed". If you come hungry, good luck deciding what you want to try. Definitely a good place to get cakes when going to someone’s house as guest or just to eat by yourself. Very good prices, good variety, I seldom go there. You can find stuff that you cannot find in some other places. Good quality stuff! I would go there every time in the future for all their products as they are very good. Every time I go there I take the recommended special of the day, which is good all the time, winter and summer, especially the morning in the week-ends when the parking is available.

Both the times I've been there so far, the service has been great. First time, bakery was closing and couldn't buy anything so the gentleman gave me a free loaf of bread! Second time, called ahead in the afternoon and was able to hold an Olive bread $3.75 (only 2 was left) and pick it up along with Taramosalata $4.28 per small container, Spinakopita $3.50 and Nutella cake Slice $3.75. Bread was soft and light crispy crust. Taramosalata was a little too salty but creamy, still good. Spinakopita perfectly flaky and really delicious. Yet to try the cake, soon! I was afraid of CS and crowdedness due to the reviews but I didn't experience that. This gentleman walked me to the sections and showed me things and suggested the cake slice. Will be revisiting.

Their ice cream is phenomenal, it's made at the bakery, huge helpings for a great price. The mango is really good. However, I've had quite a few pastries there that were not even close to fresh. Also had really stale cookies thrown in with fresher ones. Some were so old that I couldn't eat them, they tasted really old, like over a month. Piled sky high, the ones at the bottom probably sit there for weeks or longer. I live nearby, so went there quite a lot, after a few of these old cookies, and tarts, I've stopped getting pastries there. Great ice cream, but the rest is not that fresh.

What a delicious pastries, wonderful variety, and awesome prices !!! We had a chocolate parfait and a cornet. They were so good and fresh. Not heavy or too sweet. We all loved it!!! The bad thing was the service I got from the lady who took care of us. She was so rude with me I couldn’t understand why I was talking to her in English and she started being upset just because I didn’t speak in French, then I asked her that I want this dessert and the other one and I show her with my finger and then she said that she doesn’t understand my language she was extremely rude but I put her on her place because I reply to her with what exactly I wanted and the way I want it, in an educated way. Then she noticed that she didn’t do right, and she gave me what I want which is the two desserts that I end up buying here. Even the other customers that were in front of her saw how rude she was with me and they looked at me like oh my god.

I went there just for their Almond Cookies, we usually make them in Libya and wanted to try the greek version. It was good with extra flavour of orange blossom water. I ended up getting butter cookies and pistachio baklava; both were good. However, the baklava was so sweet and soft not crispy because they added so much honey. It’s very crowded with limited parking spots. Nice staff. Overall a must visit ❤️

It's definitely not the best bakery in town (not my standard as I grew up eating Parisian pastries) but their cakes are fresh, not too sweet and you have a large choice. Try their shala bread. Avoid their regular bread unless you eat it within 12 hours (it will dry soon after). They have a small grocery store where you can get cheese, some good raw sausages to grill and some italian/greek products.

What hits you right away is their cakes and pastries aren't overly sweet. The line outside also hits you as Serano is a local institution on Pape juat north of the Dandforth. But it moves quickly and you're inside salivating at the selection in no time (although watching challenged drivers navigate the tight 12 spot parking lot is free entertainment). The white chocolate mousse cake is really good but not as popular as their Mille fiuelle and baklava cheesecakes. They also have cheeses, cookies, and a small grocery area for Greek OG items.

I've been a frequent buyer at this specific location for years and had never had a bad experience till today. I ordered 20 baklavas and asked for an assortment/mixed (excluding anything with dairy), meaning I want at least one baklava of each type i repeated this several times, the store wasn't busy so I know that she could hear me well. Despite what i told her she gave me 4 of the same type of baklava and continued on I repeated to her that i wanted an assortment so, at most two of the same baklava. Despite my repetitions she did what she pleased and I did not receive all of what i asked for. When we got to the cash I voiced my concerns and she didn't seem to care much, not giving me any sort of response. I was very disappointed with my experience. She was a white women with platinum blonde, ear length hair.

This is the spot to go if you want friendly, fast service with high quality baked goods! SO much variety, I didn't even know where to start, but the baklava cheesecake and Mille-Feuille were both phenomenal. 10/10 would recommend if you're in the Danforth area!

I called to pass an order to get cakes done and pick up later. They put me on hold for a long time. When I can finally pass my order they tell me the price 72$, and as I'm showing a little bit of hesitation, the girl tells me to call back to cobfirm my order. When I call back they hang up on me, and finally when I get them on the phone the owner starts yelling at me saying that they don't take orders on the phone, that we need to come in the store to order. He yelled "get out of here and never come back". It was a disgusting customer service experience. If taking orders on the phone is not something they do, the girl should have said no at first instead of making me waste my time. People today are busy and driving to a store to pass an order and going back later to get it is a waste. I will never shop there again. Disgusting service feom the part of the owner.

The staff is always rushing around but they never make you feel rushed. They are kind and knowledgeable if you're like me an get anxiety when you need to make decisions and you want absolutely EVERYTHING ! Everything is so fresh and decadent. This has always been a staple in the European Community of East York.

I usually come here to get cake for birthdays but today I wanted to get a cake from the display fridge and the lady I encountered was very rude, she has blonde hair, tall and older with eyeliner. The fridge said to ask an employee for assistance so that is what I did but then she gave me so much attitude saying I need a number, you guys should put it down somewhere so it is more clear for your customers with what they need to do next time or she could of at least told me what to do instead of giving me attitude at 11am in the morning.

She's open everyday! Christmas and new years! The food is tasty, fresh and colourful. The smell outside always makes you smile. Not really a bread place, more deserts and treats. They sell some Greek oils and cheeses. Parking out front is useful. They need a plate smashing section for the full Greek experience.

Best bakery in and around the downforth. Impossible to choose favorites, but do yourself a favor and try one of their pies. Blueberry would be my recommendation, not something you traditionally find in a Greek pastry shop but it is mind-blowingly amazing.

When a bakery have a long history, the community is telling you something. Montreal and Laval have been under Covid curfew for quite a long time, sometimes you wonder, if you have to find a reason to make yourself happier at a time restaurants are closed. Sereno Bakery met a challenge when asked to make a different Tiramisu. Different in a way that it is not the regular one sold at counter top. They made one for us specially with the craftsmanship they have and an upgrade of all the best available ingredients on mascarphone, impot Italian coffee , lady finger and their house made cream. Of course, it cost more but my whole family are so happy when they tasted the product. They all feel like having a royal treatment. Thank you Billy for meeting the challenge. Bravo! Looking forward to have more wonderful surprise.

I love Serano. I loved this place since I first went there 8 years ago. I'm not going to say how awesome the feta we can find there, not going to say their profiteroles are the perfect cure for my homesickness or that using chocolate cream as eclair filler makes them dreamlike, no, I want to underline how "human" and "beautiful" this place is by how they treated my 7 month pregnant wife. The cashier complimented her (and "the way she carried herself" -an alien concept for me) so much she talked about her and this bakery for 2 days... And I listened because she literally glowed! Not figuratively! LITERALLY! Then we ate... and our little one smiled like we did. We love you guys! Thank you!

Today, at 11.15, the customer service was bad. I am a regular too. They have good delicious cakes and biscuits. But the lady who serve me today was rude and was like not happy to work or serve. Ask her to write Happy birthday words she just put a ready made wishes without the name. On top of that I could not understand her well due to some food that she was chewing in her mouth. Very Sad.

This European bakery is a sweet tooth's absolute dream—they have a wide variety of beautiful and decadent pastries and everything is at a super reasonable price. Some of my favourites include the melomakarono cheesecake and the nougatina. They've also pretty effectively adapted to the new safety measures by having mandatory masking, barriers between customers and staff, and reduced store capacity which honestly streamlined their ticket system. It was a very safe experience overall. Go give them a visit!

My first time, although I live in the neighbourhood! What a wonderful cornucopia of delicious sights and smells. The staff are for the most part efficient and brisk. One exception was a young lady who helped me with the overwhelming selection. I was bringing dessert for an event, and she was so helpful, with selections, displaying them nicely in a box, wrapping it with a pretty bow and giving me samples. She was a breath of fresh air and the delicious treats and her exceptional service will make me a repeat customer into the future.

Was a faithful client of Serrano as they are right next to my house and their pastries are very good but prices went up and to wait a second time in line that same dayfor over 30 minutes for a birthday cake that was already paid for? Their food looks quite good. On Dec 29th I entered this bakery. They had no respect for social distancing. The place was extremely crowded. They had two big signs up saying that people must social distance. It appeared that they had put these signs up to say "Hey, we have done our job" and then allowed overcrowding. Announcements will be made tomorrow that there will be more limitations to essential and non-essential capacity limitations. This bakery was out to make as much money as they could without respecting the rules. Because of actions like this we are back to square one.

Quality wise decent enough. Service wise zero. At my last visit a young man (must be around 15-16 years old told me that he store is closed 5 minutes before closing time and cashes r already closed so they cant take any deposits for a cake. He was willing to argue with me for 5 minutes but not serve me. While its understandable that it was last minute but to respond by saying that it is my store i can close anytime i want is unacceptable. Too bad the customer service doesnt stack up to the quality of the products.

One of the better Greek bakeries around. Great variety. As many that have travelled the world would agree..I too find the Turks have overall muuuch better variety and very unique and Insanely delicioua desserts especislly milk based ones and much better versions of lTulumba and Lokma especially and simple just have a much better historical formula making these! The Easter bread Tsoureki, Armenians and Turks call Choreg which actually not only sounds better but the Greek version doesn't taste nearly as good as how the Armenians and Turks make Choreg/Cheureg especially the homemade ones. I grabbed one to try from Serano and tastes awfully odd.. Do yourself a favour and try the non greek version and you will agree! First of all it's not sweetened enough. The only trick is that you'd have to know an Armenian to "source one"! MADO a phenomenal unmatched mouth watering powerhouse Turkish chain will be opening up 2 locations soon here in Toronto.. try them once and you'll never go anywhere else for sweets desserts baklava coffees ice cream etc etc..++

Poor customer service from the majority of the counter staff. Sounding very Aussie myself, but with a working knowledge of Greek thanks to my wife, I've come to realise that their counter hands even swear for no reason (!) Sometimes they will go ahead and mumble or speak through their clenched teeth possibly thinking that noone can hear them, which, pretty much any way you look at it, is quite sad. Some are just rude and really need to watch their tone as they get very upset for no obvious reason. Not all of them though. In fairness to them, only two ladies have consistently demonstrated exceptional behaviour with a positive attitude when they served us, but unfortunately, I didn't catch their names. A bakery with only average product can survive handily if the staff is likable with naturally sunny, brisk, and engaging personality, which do not describe the rest of the ladies there. To make things worse, there was white human hair in the chocolate kokkakia. Please do not leave space for the "protein that stabilizes dough" excuse, as it is neither a natural nor an unavoidable defect and it's simply unacceptable. Due to my wife's addiction to certain greek products and the fact that the store is a 10' drive, I tried to ignore the chaos and the bad attitude and be supportive during these times, but after that I'm not going back.

Best traditional Greek cookies ever had, Kourambiedes (white sugar butter cookies) and Melomakarouna (brown honey cookies). Will post pictures next time, enjoyed them immensely did not even think about taking a picture. Next time. Not a big fan of sugar but these are a once in a while joyful treat. Had them first time at Christmas and later this year and was simply amazed by the mouth watering experience every time. Well done Serano’s pastry chef! I will definitely make my way to your bakery. Rude tone, frustrated, unhappy to be working, never polite, never greets you as if to say we are not happy to see you here and just rude tone. The moment you are getting a decent size big order she would get frustrated maybe because she has to pack big order I don't know. First time I ignored thinking maybe she's just having a bad day, but same thing second time, and same thing 3rd time as well. I don't come here to be treated rudely and for a bad experience. And this time I Ordered 1kg chocolate biscotti, 1kg Almond biscotti, chocolates and pastries, as I told her about this order she said **** quietly in frustration, I asked what did you say and she said nothing. Now today I opened boxes of almond biscotti and guess what there were anise biscotti and not almond biscotti, how can you give me wrong biscotti that too 1kg. I had asked for almond how can you just give wrong biscotti come on and that is what made me write this review. Someone needs to have a word with Thea because I don't come there to get wrong order and get treated rudely. And lately I am also noticing no matter which flavor you buy all the pastries taste the same.

To tell you the truth, I am not a fan of many Greek desserts, but, this bakery is turning me into one. The best Melomakarona (Greek cinnamon and cardamom spiced, honey syrup, soaked cookies) you can buy in a bakery...ummmm, huge added bonus for me and my vegan peeps, they are VEGAN!!!. Their baklavadakia (mini baklava) are fantastc as are their Loukoumades (honey soaked deep fried doughballs; they're what dreams are made of!!). Probably, the best Loukoumades in, Canada. Actually, I can't say that I have had better in, Greece...Wow, what a statement I just made! They are so crispy and soaked right through with honey but not overly soaked where they come across as heavy. Ummmmm, another huge bonus for me and my vegan peeps, these too, are VEGAN!!! Anyways, I need to turn down the vegan excitement metre but it is so exciting to have such delicious vegan options; my vegan peeps will get me. Ok, so you'll also enjoy the shopping experience there as well as the bakery is very much what you'd find in Greece, which is a world of difference from the North American style bakery. Just try it, you'll love it. Oh, and BTW, while you're there pick up a sesame topped loaf of bread...trust me, you won't be sorry.

Clean and organized. Was disappointed with my galaktoboureko though. I had bought one for a backyard visit with and a second one for my home. It was nice and warm and I was eager to try it so I tried the one I got for home and it was delish, this was early afternoon around 3:00. Later that evening I tried the one for my friends and I was extremely disappointed. It seems that once it cooled down there was a bitter taste and cardboard like texture to the Phyllo. Disappointing indeed. For the most part their pastries are pretty good.

Huge selection of amazing baked goods. All sorts of cakes and pastries, and a little specialty cheese & oil section. The cheesecakes are delicious and super dense. Prices are very reasonable. I ordered the cake for 12 to 14 people. The guy( manager)took my order and offered me 10”x10”. When I went to pick up the cake it was 8x8. Asked the manager about it. He was trying to convince me that the board under the cake is 10”x10”. Asked him again is the cake is 10x10 replied board is 10x10. Asked him am I paying for the cake or board. He said for cake( thanks He never denied about that). I Had no choice to take the cake. others were not ready. Watch out for scam that they are charging money for board under the cake but giving you a small cake. Scamers. Liars. If I had lower than one star or no star at all.

The girl we were dealing with she was very very rude and have never been given that type of attitude in any store I've shopped in before. You couldn't blame the noise level or masks because it wasn't loud or busy while we were shopping and even kept repeating myself. I made mention of the person helping us to the person cashing is out but they shrugged it off like they didn't care about my concerns. When I got home the items in the boxes were poorly put together and items moved all over. We'll never shop here again after how this visit went and you clearly have to do something about your staff unless the owners don't care either.

I'm happy that I found this place. It offers European taste cakes, something that I couldn't find anywhere here. The prices are affordable , staff -friendly, and they have a great variety of products. I hope that some day, they will start to offer delivery to South Shore. Laval is a bit too far away from the place I live, but it's worth it.

I have been a regular customer for more than 3 years now. I usually buy tons of Mille-Feuille's and Eclairs. The best Mille-Feuille in town! Today, I have decided to try Tiramisu. What a disappointment. They are making it with a way too moist sponge cake instead of ladyfingers. No mascarpone either. It can not be called Tiramisu with so many changes. Please, make it the proper way and let us enjoy your masterpieces again.

If you've never been here, I'm sorry for your loss. They sell these teeny tiny cake portions and you're just gonna wanna try them all!! They have regular slices if you are not indecisive and know what you want. They also have a full stock of whole cakes for any occasion. They are wonderful people and they've been making my kids birthday cakes for years now. They once accommodated my daughters request of cake pops even if they don't make them. I'm a forever customer and so lucky to live nearby!!

This is a super place. I have never seen any such bakery in Toronto. They have every thing from middle Eastern sweets to pastry to cakes to moose to amazing cookies, cheese, breads, rusk....and so many others things too. Prices are also reasonable, staff is well trained and helpful.

Great selection of Greek products. Prices have increased a lot over the years while the quality has decreased on their baked goods. There is very little competition in the region and thus have taken advantage of the situation. They sell Dodonis feta $32 and at Costco for $19 for the exact same product. There cheescake is $29 and at Costco for $18. They need to address their pricing or else the word will eventually catch on. The elderly Greeks will not be around for ever to support them.

I rarely rate a place but Serano and their staff deserve 10stars rating. I’ve been going for the last 10-12 years and I have never regretted purchasing one of their cakes. And everyone that tries it becomes a customer. The cheesecake rocks the tiramisu is delicious and the profiterole is OMG I will die happy moment. Hi everybody. I would like to share my personal experience with you. I have been a client since 3 years at that bakery. Last time I went there was for a birthday cake for my son. The person who was serving me told me that she was proprietor and acted that she was very busy and behaved in a very arrogant way towards my wife and me. We were shocked. For her the only thing that matters is just money and service does not mean anything to her. The other personnel are very kind and listen to the customers. Besides, I told the arrogant women that I will never come there again. What do you think she replied to me "Go elsewhere"? Is that customer service?. A very disappointed customer.

Best bakery in Montreal! I drive every 2 weeks from Ile Perrot for their delicious pastries, bread, spinach pies, etc. Everything is always fresh, more than reasonably price, and the staff is super patient and efficient! I will recommend this place 1000x not only for the quality of their products but also how they treat their clients. I've seen how they are with my baby, and with the elderly answering their questions. Doesn't compare to any other bakery :)

I ordered from Serno on Christmas! And glad I did. Here's my review of the things I tried. Loved, LOVED the Mini Sous and want to order more! The Melomakarono Cheesecake was delicious! Strawberry Tarts were good. Will reorder all those things. I really liked the Lemon Slices - but there was something in those that I don't think everyone would like, can't put my finger on what the ingredient was. But I'd still recommend them. Didn't care for the Profiterol Cup. The Mini Bueno and Nutella Baklavas, Tiramisu, and Chocolate Square were average. Mini Chocolate Eclairs were nice. Overall, I'd recommend desserts at this bakery -- they clearly have a lot of good stuff and I think once you try a selection, you can order more of what you do end up liking next time.

My only concern is what I seen today. I had seen two individuals in a span of literally 10 minutes be allowed to come into this business and be served not wearing a mask. I am a front line staff and risk myself daily with potential Covid patients and the only reason (which I do NOT go outside other then work) why I was at this store was to surprise my team as they did an amazing job to keep our unit safe. This makes me really frustrated as it only takes that one person to spread the virus. As people keep risking their self to protect individuals with Covid the least businesses can do is follow the proper protocols in place to mitigate the spread. I will be calling Toronto public health on Monday to make a complaint as this is utterly unacceptable. In front of the store it literally has a sign to "wear a mask" and during my 10 minutes of purchasing things, I seen two individuals who don't know each other, be allowed to be served. In the picture you can see even the staff member who is clearly seen talking to this customer who just bought something who also does not know how to wear a mask. This is unacceptable, hopefully Public health will investigate.

This bakery is a huge disappointment! I purchased profiterol and some desserts today after seeing the good reviews on Google. They use cheap, tasteless whipped cream to fill profiterols and cakes instead of pastry cream. They were literally the worst desserts I’ve ever tasted! I am really surprised that they have so many good reviews.

I recently bought a custom cake from this bakery for my girlfriend’s birthday. I initially asked for the cake to have a Louis Vuitton purse topper on the top of the cake. Communicating with one of the women at the bakery was a bit of a hassle as she wanted me to send her a picture of a cake that was already made/matched my request before providing me with a quote. After browsing around Google, I found a different style cake (it was a purse cake) but the bakery couldn't replicate this. They ended up sending me a picture of a cake that they felt they could re-create instead (a regular cake with a purse topper on it) with a few minor changes. I agreed to purchase that one however I did request for the purse topper to be match the color and design of the purse in the picture they sent me (which was brown). The purse topper was to be brown so that it could match the brown cake platform as well. To my surprise yesterday when I picked the cake up, the purse was dark green? Not too impressed with the lack of attention to detail there. Fortunately the cake tasted good and my girlfriend still thought the look was creative but again I'm not too impressed with the lack of attention to detail this bakery showed to my request and the hassle with the woman from customer service. I'm sure they tried their best to accommodate this request but I've received better customer service and better quality cakes from other bakeries that I've purchased from in previous years. I won’t be going back to this bakery in the future given this experience.

Even though I always buy from them, but today I was surprised by the inappropriate behavior of one of the workers there, she was very rude and dealt with me in a completely awkward manner, and when I told one of the workers there that I was treated in this way, she responded with carelessness and said have a nice day!!! I don't know if she even heard what I've said. If I hadn't been in a hurry at that time, I wouldn't have gone out until the appropriate apology had been made. one of the best bakery in Town, I particularly like greek bakery, so Serano is my favourite bakery. They have a vast variety of cakes, cheesecakes, pasteries, bagels and other bakery items. They also have bakalawa, it's one of the best bakalawa in the city. The staff is super amazing, they always helped me whenever I was in confusion what to and what not to buy. Last week I bought cheesecake and pound cake for my wife, when I told the staff that I'm buying for my wife, she gave me a bag full of fresh baked bagels totally free. She said it's complementary. Apart from delicacies they also have few greek accessories. You must visit it whenever you are around the city.

You know when a person's behaviour really upsets you that you can't even enjoy the product. That's pretty much why I'm giving them a 2 star. Although the dessert was good, the girl who helped me seemed annoyed by me. That behaviour just plays in the back of your head. It was my first time so I wasn't sure how things worked and didn't want to miss my number being called. I didn't even take that long either to choose the pastries I wanted. All the other workers helped the customers with a smile and didn't seem annoyed when the customer took their time. Even the set up in the box was messy. Desserts shoved into one another rather than getting a larger box. It wasnt until I paid and was leaving that she gave me a small smile, like that was supposed to make up the whole experience. I understand that she may have been tired or in a bad mood but these pastries were a special gift . I'm just disappointed. Once you get a bad vibe from somewhere you never want to step foot in that place again.

For classic pastry you cannot get better for the money. They have many different types of deserts but mostly they are greek/Mediterranean style. Not many healthy products because they seem to use conventional ingredients and a fair amount of sugar. We go there occasionaly for cakes and greek pastry. They also do wedding and birthday cakes and their prices are unbeatable for the quality.
