Googled a gourmet bakery to celebrate finishing my first semester in college and this place popped up. Paid almost $15 for 2 slices of cake but didn't mind if it was good, but it was awful! Tim Hortons is better! Had a custard cake square that was so hard the fork wouldn't even go through the pastry, and the berry cake I had tasted like it had been sat out for 4 days, not fresh at all. Worst bakery experience I've had, especially considering the prices.

I usually only come here for special occasions or dinner parties but I will definitely be coming here more often, prices are very reasonable and the staff is very well informed about their products, it's a very cute store with such an amazing selection for European treats and baked items . I bought the hazelnut strudel and my dinner guests were very impressed with the taste of it and how fresh it was . This will be a biweekly visit for me from now on .

We especially drove off the 400 into Barrie on the way back down south to Toronto and enjoyed a delicious ham and cheese bun in the cafe. Purchased Austrian apple cake and buns made with flour imported from Europe to take home. A real treat. I do wish Sigrid's Cafe and Bakery was little closer to Toronto...... we would be regular and frequent customers.

Excellent pastries and baked goods. This place gets me through the time to my next trip to Germany. Get there early for a warm loaf of rye. Swiss mountain bread is one of my favourites. I wish they'd set up a Beer Garden! This would make this place complete!

If your looking for German style baked goods at great prices, look no farther! It's the BEST bakery in and around Barrie. FAST, and friendly customer service. Daily made breads and baked goods/pastries all from scratch. There is a wide selection, even gluten free and a few vegan items too! But wait! There's more!! They have other food items for sale as well; boxed chocolates, chips, teas, jam, frozen items. It's a definite must go if you live in or around the area.

I am new to the city of Barrie. While visiting a place around the bakery I parked at their parking space so I could find my way on GPS. Out of nowhere the owner/ manager knock on my window and in the rude way asked if I am visiting the bakery. I told him no and he told me to read the signs and basically not to stand in their parking lots if I am not going to visit their bakery. I found that very rude and will never visit that place. If I was him , I would never treat a potential customers that way.

What a great bakery and wonderful customer service. I needed a special cake for my mothers birthday and Sigrid's made it happen! The plum cake you made was delicious and my mother hid it from the guests so she could enjoy it all herself! Such a high compliment from her as she rarely if ever eats sweets. I've been contemplating moving to Barrie and this cafe has solidified my decision...we used to have a European cafe in Kitchener here and I always loved their baked goods and pastries...European pastries/baked goods aren't as ghastly sweet and you can enjoy the flavors a lot more when there isn't so much sugar...can't wait to come by in person!!

Great spot for coffee and pastries. We went on Sunday morning and we got some espressos, hot chocolate and some pastries that were excellent. We loved the service, super friendly staff (and they made sure to put extra whipped cream for my daughter's hot chocolate, which she loved!). Huge variety of pastries and sweets (special for diabetics, vegan, and all sort of types). They also served lunch but we did not try. We will definitely come back on our next trip to Barrie.

Moist with just the right amount of kirsch, and not too sweet - perfect! German-born relatives said it was the most authentic black forest cake they've tasted since being in Canada. The people are incredibly friendly and helpful and the Stollen ...oh it was Amazing. We absolutely love this bakery. One of us is extremely sugar intolerant. Their have a great selection of sugar free products! Diabetics will have a hard time choosing from all the products. It is always homemade, fresh and consistent. Definitely Germany, not sugary sweet products which is a nice change. We love their homemade meat pies and meat rolls. It’s are go to place for all occasions and they are marvellous at accommodating us. Their carrot carrot is not sweet so it hard to stop eating it. We have tried. Most of their food can be stored in the freezer as well. They are an honest, happy bunch and we are so lucky to know them. Thank staff and owner! You always do us proud!

Excellent service and quality German baked goods. Highly recommend checking this spot out. They also offer a variety of gluten free, vegan and diabetic friendly options. I tried a gluten free gingerbread man and the spice and flavour was terrific. I also tried the gluten free almond cookies which were chewy yet crispy on the outside - so good.

We recently moved to Barrie and were so pleased to find this amazing place! I was afraid we would have to drive to the GTA for any Austrian/German specialities, baking, etc - now we can find everything we need AND support local. Sigrid’s offers a wide variety of excellent baked goods, including very traditional breads and cookies that remind me of when my mother would bake. On top of that they have some basic grocery essentials, gift items, and an amazing staff! I highly recommend you stop by and experience it yourself - grab a strudel, a coffee, or whatever you fancy. Thanks Sigrid’s, you’ve made this Austrian very happy!
