I am a candida sufferer for the past 5 years, Goodness Me! has been a sanctuary for relief in offering nutrient-dense, antioxidant food items that give me the energy needed for everyday life. I was able to keep virulent candida at bay, and was able to lose 45 lbs of body fat by avoiding commercially processed junk. Thanks Goodness Me! for providing wholesome, homemade food made from REAL organic ingredients and not synthetic chemicals!
Healthy!
Great hot table for lunch
I only really go in there to use the salad bar. Build my own salad with toppings to go. Big fan of the vegan Caesar. The way I make my salads, I normally end up paying between 8$-12$ as it’s dependent on weight. So it’s a little pricy but good.
Great selections for the good, fresh and Organic food. ????????????????????
I've never had a poor experience before, but today I bought samosas from the fridge section and they were frozen in the middle!! I thought Goodness Me made everything fresh, and didn't use defrosted product? I could be wrong but I'm pretty disappointed as this was my first visit since the Covid shutdown.
I absolutely love this store! Everything is so neat and tidy and absolutely organized! I do wish they carried fresh buns however, I think that’s the only thing they did not have. Prices are higher but you get what you pay for; excellent fresh meats (grass fed), produce and dairy of all kinds (vegan & normal), I go here all the time for my dinner pick ups! Wish every store was exactly like this, every other store I go to has minimum vegan options! I Love Goodness Me!
Very clean place with a great team of people working. Friendly cashier helped me check out quickly.
Cool place, lots of great stuff you wont find in a regular market
Great natural foods and a buffet that features a very healthy foods. Definitely will stop every time I go through
There isn't anything I don't like about this place! I've been waiting for a place like this in Barrie for years! The staff is super helpful, I can always find any products I'm looking for. The prices are right spot on with competitors. Their organic vegetables are pretty much the same price as Zerhs' regular produce. Love love love!
Goodness Me! This place is amazing. A much bigger location than Mississauga and one of the most friendly staff I have met. The hot food bar and taps of kombucha are amazing .
Love the private label selection and healthy goodies! So many cool brands you can’t find at a Whole Foods!
Amazing selection! Loved my first experience, will definitely be back regularly.
He feel of racist older cashier happens to enter your mind. Then her interaction and or lack of self worth, confirms that this older lady really does not like you.
Two of your cashiers not wearing masks, and multiple customers not wearing masks either... What's that about?
It’s not quite nature’s emporium but it’s a very strong contender!!!
Great place to shop for healthy and/or local food options. The staff is VERY knowledgeable (not your usual grocery store employees) and there is a cafeteria style food counter with seating at the back.
My s’more cookie was burnt
Disgusting place, unsafe and unhealthy and disrespectful
Goodness Me! Is great because it offers a variety of natural products but if you don't mind waiting, you can get a variety of their products online for a fraction of the price.
Fabulous food and a friendly helpful staff
Not cheap but the best organic produce selection in the area.
Good organic and healthy products . ????????Thsnks
Favorite place to be!
Long time loyal Goodness Me customer. Love the store, the products and the staff. Unfortunately the current policy to allow people in without a mask is ridiculous. This is not about politics. This is about extending a common courtesy to …
I love looking through Goodness Me at all of the natural products that are available. It's all good quality products that are affordable. The fresh food quality is very good. I like that I can grab a delicious cup of fresh coffee for a cheap price. The store itself is very clean and organized! I enjoy shopping here.
A really amazing store with a great selection of products but I just don’t feel safe going there anymore. I counted 7 shoppers without masks on while inside the store.
Miss hours???
I just visited this store on a recommendation from my boss. My line of work is construction; so typically, I was dressed in the usual safety gear. Being dressed like this, I was treated with zero respect. I wasn’t even considered as a customer. I hope people don’t waste their time at this place if that’s how they treat customers. Also, very overpriced.
Very pricey but good variety
Great food, selection and staff!
I only rate ok because the one in waterloo is bigger and has more options. It's also a bit unorganized, where you have produce on one end, natural medication in the middle then more produce on the other side. Prices are little higher. The staff was great and helped me find an item or two without hesitation. Not a bad location! Lots of parking
This one is our health food store to go to. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are good too. They do run out of the items in the bulk section once in a while, but we still love the place.
As a frequent customer, 80% of the time their POS won't accept my debit card (an issue 2 cashiers have admitted happens routinely) - despite it working for much larger purchases minutes later within Park Place. This has happened 2 times in the last 3 days. Compounding this was waiting 10 minutes in line at the checkout to have the manager let his friend jump the line and get checked out ahead of those who waited. Good inventory & adequate pricing, but their lack of commitment to customer service has meant I am now taking my $200 / wk to Nutrition Plus, despite it being out of my way.
Great selection of food. Faster checkout would be a great improvement.
I used to enjoy shopping at Goodness Me until yesterday. I was standing in the checkout line when I noticed an unmasked cashier and unmasked customer laughing and carrying on. There were 6 of us standing in line spanning 3 check outs. I felt very uncomfortable in this situation as it was quite shocking. I noticed all the other customers either changing lanes or keeping a 20 ft distance waiting for this customer to leave. I was completely surprised that 9 months into this pandemic that this was happening. What I think is so disappointing is that Goodness Me appears to not value the majority of its customers or employees enough to protect them. I have supported Goodness Me from their store in Burlington and since they opened in Barrie but now I will make a safety choice for myself as I no longer have confidence in the management of this business and will no longer shop here. I make the assumption that medical issues is the reason here, but there are alternative options to offer these people so they can get their groceries without putting the majority of the customers and employees at risk.
Do not judge people who may have certain health reasons for not wearing a mask. It's great there is a place for people to come to without feeling judged for having no mask. Maybe that's why there happen to be many people not wearing one in this store
The least expensive place I have found in Barrie for 2% Rolling Meadows milk. They also have some good specials on produce from time to time. Otherwise, quite pricey, especially for ordinary food, such as beets
I was overcharged on a food supplement and then was asked waste my time to fill out my information to compensate for their error. An over-priced retailer I would suggest you avoid shopping at.
Great store! My wife and I went to charge our electric vehicle nearby and walked by Goodness Me and didn't know what it was so we thought we would check it out. I have been there at least 25 times since even though we live more than 50km away. We like to pick up groceries (nice selection of healthier foods) and we always grab a bite to eat from the hot food service area along with a Lifeproof coffee. I am headed there again today!!!!
I have been shopping in the store for the past three years. It will be my last to time going there. I never experienced this kind of attitude from the store cashier. The argument started over me paying in cash and not using credit card . Cash is the legal tender and must be excepted at any store. If you prefer,as the cashier said ,to be paid by anything else but cash it doesn’t mean you don’t except cash. Or make a sign on the front of your store and point out that if customer wishes to pay with cash he/ she is not welcome in to your store . Anyways the cashier Sarah was rude and very disrespectful and when I mention that I will complain , she said, she doesn’t care. It is very upsetting that the store employee feels she can be a Covid police and talk to the customers in hostile manner. I guess you do not need our business, the store is empty only one cash register opened.
Amazing grocery store with incredible produce, huge selection and fair prices for a natural food store. My favourite is the fresh food bar. They have so many freshly baked vegan cookies and muffins! They are sooo delicious and are a MUST try when stopping in!
The best place for gluten free everything! I also love that they carry station cold brew coffee and lots of kombucha. The best healthy food stop on the way to the cottage. Worth being at a higher price point.
Exceptional service, great staff, human, helpful and great selection. Also thank you for honouring exemptions.
Well stocked most of the time. Fruits and veg don’t always look fresh
Ridiculous to be scolded because you return a product , plants I bought died , no return accepted , never going back
Service was good. Food was hot and tasty. Harvey's really needs to lessen the amount of single use plastics.....not even a recycling bin onsite. Won't be back.
I have had family members visit the store twice in the last few months. There is no mask policy enforced and last visit no hand sanitizer. It was either out or not working. Very disappointing being a Health Food Store.
You should change the cashier, who obviously hates her job. I just went to buy a couple items but had a bad experience. The cashier that I got displayed rude behaviour. Lady, if you don't like your job then just quit. You should treat people nicely, people who are still going into the store in spite of Covid! Displaying this rude behaviour has inspired me to go search for an online alternative such as Amazon. Nice store, great products, but unfortunately awful customer service!
Mostly just expensive stuff you can buy at loblaws for less
Lits a vegan treats
So disappointed that this store is allowing people in not wearing masks. As a result, I will be taking my business elsewhere. It is so disrespectful to our healthcare workers that have worked tirelessly throughout this pandemic despite …
Love it here. Good selection of items, always nice and clean inside, great fresh made food and friendly staff as well.
I shop at Goodness Me (GM) because of their fresh organic produce (saves me from driving to Nature's Emporium in Newmarket, thank you) and their baked goods & bread section. I like that they're offering great Manchego sheep cheese now, and there was a fabulous deal on Oka cheese for awhile there, if I have it right. Also the Omega 3 eggs with DHA listed are great to have access to. So I have my items I apprecuate buying. I find the store is generally a good addition to Barrie. I do buy my supplements at Nature's Best downtown because that's their specialty and I have a long-time 10% customer discount. Goodness Me is a little higher in price for certain items as well. I have also found the GM cashiers very friendly people. This makes such a difference to have a smile and friendly chatter from someone there. Finally, a big thank you for keeping your public washrooms open! The only issue I have - aside from the maskless people I see occasionally and there's just no excuse for that, sorry folks, a failing grade on that one particularly with the more infectious variants around now - is the very strange policy of not helping people pack their own bags, even when it's a big order and there's a long line up. It makes no logical sense whatsoever re germs. If you're going to handle ALL the food items off the shelves when ringing them in that everyone else handles, minimal handling of the bag itself while packing it won't make any difference at that point. Plus this makes the customer stand at the very end of the counter, around the corner of the plexiglass shield, in order to pack the bags - they're fairly close to the staff at the cash! I feel for people. Some cashiers look apologetic and uncomfortable as you pack your bags while they stand there oing nothing, waiting - some of them definitely would prefer to help. If you have a fair size order it really holds up the line. Food stores encourage people to bring their own bags for a good ecological reason but at GM we're penalized for doing so. Don't create this bizarre policy around helping to pack only your own store bags. It's just plain silly and poor customer service. Requesting that you please look at reviewing this policy. It's a hot topic with customers. Just some tweaking needed from this person's perspective, to go from a generally good store to a great one. Finally, it's better not to answer posts rather than repeatedly use a form letter answer. Ouch. ????
Great location, big and clean! Plenty of parking, so overall very nice experience.
Great food and fantastic staff
This store is putting me at risk. Today they served a client who flaunted the mask obligation, laughed and spewed spit while at the cash in front of me. When the cashier was asked why they didn't tell the client " no mask, no service", I was told they didn't want to upset anyone. Well I'm upset and no longer will be their customer ???? ????
This store is slowly becoming my favourite place to shop because it has all the healthy food that I need and a nice dose of FREEDOM as well if you know what I’m talking about. I am also appreciate of Vicky who has awesome customer service skills and went above and beyond for me to assist me.
Professional, knowledgable and kind staff make your shopping experience feel like it's your friendly neighbourhood market. We love to stop for lunch at the eatery to pick up some fresh baked Salmon, with roasted sweet potatoes and kale. Finish it off with an organic fair trade coffee and a vegan chocolate chip cookie...what a treat!
Thought this place was going to be too expensive etc. But I love it! Never going back
Very disappointed to see multiple customers unmasked during my visit today and clearly no enforcement. This is the first place I have been to in 9 months to see this happen and I am absolutely shocked. Customers and staff should be expected to be following the rules and mask up. I will not be returning anytime soon.
Lots of selections . Gluten free. Veggie etc..
I’m obsessed with Goodness me. I probably go to often. But love it
I bought vitamins and realized adter 2 days I couldn't take them anymore...they made me very I'll. When I asked to take the $45 bottle back with reciept after 2 days you said no...seriously that is poor customer service I will no longer give you my buisness...
Good store with a good food for lunch , I just wish they had more fresh herbs
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Goodness Me! I like to know I’m buying good, fresh, healthy food. I ALWAYS spend more than I plan, but I also always come home with something yummy. Great store.
Love the organic selection and variety from veggies to grass fed beef! Their cafeteria style eatery is good and I will eat there instead of a pricey fast food restaurant.
I like product selection, eatery bar, some how feels cozy, fresh and clean in store
Perfect place to stop in on cold days when there is a long wait for the bus. A small cafe in the back sells organic coffee with natural sugar.
Very organized, hand picked brands, slightly overpriced, great staff.
The staff knows their stuff! Just by telling them what your injury/illness is. They will walk you to the right isle and explain to you what it's for and what it helps with. The fruits and vegetables are fresh and the health benefits of these foods and spices are amazing to learn from. A bit pricey but what do you expect?
The best thing about Goodness me is the owner. I absolutely love how the owner responds to all reviews, good or otherwise. That's why this store is sooooo successful.
Love this place fresh clean
A great alternative to the usual grocery store chains. Reminds me of Organic Garage in Thornhill where I used to live. Lots of great organic options for produce, dairy, meat and snacks. I really like their salad bar, healthy delicious dishes when you're in a hurry or can't be bothered to cook
I was very disappointed with the number of customers not wearing masks in this location yesterday. Despite the mandates in place and clear signage at the entrance indicating otherwise I was told by store staff that masks were only voluntary there. I will not be shopping there again.
Good products in this store, and it is the reason why I've come in more than once. However, we have had poor experiences with staff. As other reviews have mentioned, the cashiers are often rude and dismissive. It is one thing if this was a …
Always fresh and healthy food with great selection
Best gluten-free muffins I've ever had. Tasty prepared food too. Big store feel with friendly staff.
Never have I seen SO many unmasked people in a grocery store than I did here. Apparently Goodness Me doesn’t care about enforcing a mask mandate. That is a serious shame! I’ll find an overly priced natural foods store elsewhere, thanks.
Disclaimer* - I work here, but I can tell you that Goodness Me! is so different from the big boxes. I worked with a Big Box retailer in town for 17 years, but Goodness Me! is a fantastic family owned and operated business that truly cares about each customer. They have amazing produce (100% organic all the time and at a way better price than the 'Big Box' stores), naturally raised meats (including GRASS FED BEEF!!!), a little restaurant with quality food made by real people - not just reheated in a microwave, some super knowledgeable staff in the supplements area and my favourite...a classroom where they offer lots of free classes. My wife and I have benefited from some of the classes already and of course are looking forward to taking more! The staff here are so friendly that I feel more like I'm going to a friends house than grocery shopping. I've never shopped anywhere like this before. You need to check us out if you haven't already!
For me this is a one-stop-shop catering to my interests, needs and wants (with all that delicious hot food in their Eatery!!) Great to see a store like this in Barrie. I know that I can rely on GM to have the organic produce and good quality foods I'm looking for as well as something new I have yet to try!
The store in general is good. Lots of good produce, but most of their stuff is RIDICULOUSLY over priced.
Another good store to get “organic” products
Second time shopping here , great products, friendly staff, reasonable prices.
Love how clean and organized this store is. I typically head here for grocery’s but occasionally I’ll hit up the back for some to go lunch. Previously you would be served the food but now they just leave it open (buffet style)and you fill a box with whatever you want and pay by weight. It seems way more expensive for less service but I understand, it gives people freedom to mix and match instead of a set menu price per item/weight of that individual item. Not really a complaint but I preferred it the other way. All in all it’s a good place to go for some good food. Great selection too.
So happy to have this store in Barrie. We visit at least once a week to stock up on dairy free food that we haven't found elsewhere. Prices are reasonable and the quality of the fresh produce and baked goods is great. I appreciate that they label everything they serve at the salad bar and hot counter. Staff are also very knowledgable and approachable. The store itself is clean and welcoming and overall it's a nice relaxing place to shop.
Excellent product with knowledgeable professional staff
This place has just about anything you could want when it comes to healthy fancy food. The staff are well knowledged, and I can believe they actually use the products.
Super friendly staff, excellent selection of natural and organic foods
Amazing smoothies
I have started shopping here, even though I live very close to the competition downtown Barrie, but some of the women working in the downtown store in this city are a absolute nightmare! I can NOT stand them. So I checked out Goodness Me and the staff were not judgemental and seemed professional and welcoming. Found lots of products I usually had to order on line, so now I know where I can pick them up! Noticed they had the most expensive honey I have ever seen in the world. If I win the lottery I will eat it by the jar full but for now I will stick to local. lol. Nice place, and tons of classes regarding health.
OMG!! This place is amazing!! I always wanted a place where I could serve myself with a fresh, healthy and warm meal, and I finally came across Goodness Me. I couldn't be happier!! I totally recommend this place!!
Have been at this Goodness Me! several times. The largest health food store with the greatest variety of products. Very well maintained, clean, and well organised. The naturopathic remedies area may require some minor navigation to find what one may be looking for but staff are quite helpful. Ample parking, mobility impaired access, and reasonable to slightly moderate pricing generally. There is a meeting / instructional room on site. Website very well made and maintained which I often use prior to a purchase.
Good selection and prices but it’s unfortunate they do not carry NFH products and they do not accept Amex as a form of payment.
I used to love their bakery’s cookies but I’ve wasted a lot of money on them too many times to go back. They are always so stale and rock hard now. Such a shame :(
I love Goodness Me as a store- great organic produce/ supplements/ grocery etc. But MAN the eatery.... it reaaaally needs to step it up. I’m no chef, but I would love if you guys had professional cooks or at least people with kitchen experience to improve the recipes. I am always disappointed when I get home and eat my lunch from there, I’m not saying it’s horrible but it’s defiantly lacking flavour!!! Never enough flavour or salt, nothing is seasoned properly & it always tastes bland. The only thing that is consistently good at the eatery is the Chilli. I waited 5-6 months of eating here to write a review because I genuinely wanted to believe it was just a bad day, but week after week, it never changed. So I hope somebody from there reads this and considers hiring a proper chef or trying new recipes :)
Young lady who looked after me today at this store was excellent. Thank you Kriti (hope i got her name correct ) …
Actually has a ton of neat things in here and i was impressed! Something for everybody for sure. Healthy stuff and recommend to anyone.
They're allowing people to roam around maskless while they have "we're in this together" signage all around. Will not return.
Love this place
Needs new management
Thanks for the vegan options ????
Tell me why a manager and a few employees were NOT wearing their masks while Also allowing shoppers to be mask free. This is distasteful and unacceptable.
Wish I could give zero stars. Absolutely horrendous that this store does NOT require customers to wear masks - despite large sign on the door stating it is a requirement. Today was my first time here and I will NOT be back, ever. I counted …
The products have a wide variety which I like. Neat place. The only issue I have is their poor customer service. They make it seem like it’s an honour to shop there. Sorry, but I haven’t received a single “thank you” for shopping with us from the place.
One of my favourite places to shop! I just love the smell when I walk in the door and the knowledgeable, helpful staff is right there to guide me as I walk through the isles. The store design and layout makes it very easy to find the items your craving and never too crowded. The classes that are available are very informative and fun to join. If your Vegan, Vegetarian or have food intolerances this is your go to store in Barrie. The selection of healthy items are unparalleled in the area and always new items arriving. The prices are sometimes a little steep but the quality is exceptional. The healthy food deli style store at the back has some great treats and a healthy alternative to fast food. This place is wonderful and I highly recommend it to my friends and family.
Goodness Me! is full of friendly staff, good food and healthy products. This location has the best cookies and is conveniently located just off the highway. If you cant find the product you are looking for on the shelf they are always willing to order it in specifically for you!
Amazing health food and natural products
Extreme mark up's on their products. But 1 star for keeping the grass fed butter and goodfats bars at a normal price. Those are the only two things I'll buy there, only if I run out and need them in the last minute. I felt extremely angry when I went to another health food store and seen the exact same brand PQQ vitamins for 10 dollars less and the St. Francis MCT for 12 dollars cheaper. Shoppers BEWARE of what you pay for items there.
I just love this place. One team member Steve OMG he just about knows everything so helpful informing me on products
I have enjoyed going to your store and I like the products you offer , however, due to your policy on allowing those ‘exempt ‘ from wearing masks inside the store, I will not be returning and I will let my friends and family know of your policy to protect them. Your employees are not comfortable with the policy as I spoke to them about it. Until you follow other stores where they strictly adhere to everyone in store to wear a mask ,offer online shopping , or curb side pick up to those who are ‘exempt’ from wearing a mask in your store , I will never return now nor post pandemic. Unfortunate, as I really enjoyed the experience and products of your store. (I see you offer online shopping and curbside ,however , you also allow them to shop inside for the SMALL few who are exempt) You promote optimal health , and yet you put your employees and your customers at risk by letting the few who claim to be exempt from wearing masks inside the store. Be a leader like Indigo book store and the like and follow their strict guidelines ,exemption or no exemption for mask wearing —> , no mask , no entry.
Best spot in Barrie for a healthy lunch
Great products you can in lots of places but also having great people at the same place - an absolute pleasure today ... thankyou !
Honestly out of all the goodness me locations ive been to this has to be the worst. Their produce is horrid, wilting, rotting and always empty. Its is always messy and their meat and bread selection is limited and always empty as well. Their shelves are full of not in stock tags. Their dairy section is small and completely useless when looking for product. I have some food intolerances, read the ingredients and got sick off their hot food bar which is probably caused by food cross contamination. Which was low on stock, tasted frozen not fresh, looked re cooked and stale. I felt like they were reselling their leftovers of yesterdays food. Even with a highly disappointing experience at this location their staff was super sweet, helpful and extremely nice. To which I feel bad for, its not their fault the store looks like its falling apart. You can only be as strong as your management team. I would honestly feel ashamed to work there considering how lovely the other Goodness Me locations are. Even watching the employees working hard throughout the store they look sad and overworked.
My daughter recently decided to start eating more ethically. We knew about Goodness Me but had never been. She went on her own (because it's safer) and although we loved the products that she purchased, we have sworn to never return. Our safety is extremely important to us. We both work with vulnerable populations and have strived to use good sense for an entire year with regard to keeping ourselves safe. How is it that in this store, staff are not forced to wear proper PPE? Yours is a store that promotes healthier eating for "Goodness" sake! Your standard mechanical answer addresses that you offer curbside pickup for those that cannot wear a mask but what about your employees? If people cannot wear a mask, they have the option of wearing a shield. If they cannot even wear a shield then many businesses provide other options to assist such as delivery, curbside service, etc. If it's a staff member who cannot wear a mask or shield, then a transfer of duties is necessary - you cannot put your customers at risk. Do you not care about your client's health? So disappointing! So irresponsible! UPDATE: In response to your recent reply below, how is allowing staff to work in your store without masks keeping anyone safe? Those staff are in the store for hours each day handling doorknobs, baskets, and every product you carry, When your customers and other staff arrive, they are then exposed and vulnerable to any viruses that may have been spread. This issue is not about those who choose not to wear a mask. It's about those who are exposed due to other's carelessness. And you have had 14 months to work this out. Implementing safety protocol should be routine by now.
aug 3 @ around 1pm - went in for a cookie and a wrap on sale. wrap came in at 5.99 instead of 4.49 and i was advised that the sale tag was left up accidentally and they wouldn't be able to honor the sale price. in my experience usually if the vendor accidentally leaves a sale tag up they bite the bullet and honor it. i bought the food and it was pretty good but i doubt i'll be back for this reason.
Normally I am very impressed with this place but they dropped the ball today. They sold me some cereal which was rancid. When I informed the staff member, no apology, no refund, and no desire to remove the remaining stock to prevent repeating this unpleasant experience with other customers. I have received better customer service from many lower end grocery stores which sell similar products at half the price.
Great selection
Unfortunately it was my last shopping day today at my loved and favourite store Goodness me, i had a bad experience with a customer service policy. I was not lucky when I bought a damaged product from the manufacturer and they have an unfortunate policy rule that they do not to not take back a product if it's open. After a half and hour fight and stress from both sides in the middle of a pandemic, assistant manager and me. We found a solution and got my money back, but it not a point. Why as a loyal customer I have to fight for my rights. Yes it was open but I could not see it was damaged at the moment of purchase because of the packaging . Please if you want to have loyal customers, do the best you can to commodate for their concernces and don't blame them for something they did not do, that they are simply addressing a manufacturers fault.
Omicron is surging through the province and these people are still living out some "my freedoms" argument, ignoring that the virus doesn't care about political arguments.
Great store, with many great options. Great management, great staff, great quality foods. They also have a very good eatery section with a hot lunch buffet.
Have always been a fan a goodness me, great selection, great hot food table, like many others, I have been a little unsettled with how they have treated guidelines when it comes to Covid 19, what makes matters worse, after reading through the reviews, every response has the same politically correct statement, which says absolutely nothing, and does not help to address customer concerns. The part that gets is "For those that cannot wear a face covering in our stores, we would be delighted to shop on your behalf through our curbside program" but not really, come on in.
I have now had 2 bad experiences at this location with customer service within 2 weeks. The first being told a price on an item & upon cashing out they price was incorrect, the Cashier called the Manager & explained the situation but he chose not to honour the original price. Today I came to purchase some Good Fats bars which where clearly advertised 2 for $5.00. I asked for some specific brands which I couldn’t find & after spending about 25 mins. was advised that they were sold out. I then asked if a rain check could be given another 10 mins. & the Manager was called & said if advertised in flyer it could be given I get in line wait another 10 mins. Because of the line ups the Manager came to help on cash, I went to his lane to request rain check & was told that he couldn’t give me any because the sale didn’t officially start till tomorrow. So after spending about 45 minutes in the store, sold out item, clearly on sale today with posted signs, told I could get a rain check, then changed their mind, the frustration dealing with such poor customer service over pennies after all the time I spent there. Very disappointed with their ability to deal with customers. Going to Walmart to get them now, even cheaper there. Too bad had they given me a rain check which wouldn’t have cost them anything I would have given therm much more business after giving them a second chance, instead it forced me to write this note & not come back again. Pat from Barrie
Better than fast food and raman.
this is the most horrible grocery store i have ever seen, if there is something wrong with a product you buy from them they never take it back they basically dismiss customers by being rude and ignorant ,i shop all the time there me and my entire family but after what happenned today i will never go back there ,most terrible customer service i have ever seen in my life besides all this most of the customers that shops there do not wear masks and also the staff not a safe place to shop by all means ,they should be following the health canada regulations like any other grocery store...............
I have exclusively shopped at Goodness Me Barrie for 2 years specifically because of how knowledgeable, kind and friendly their employees are. They also have amazing customer service! The staff have been working tirelessly through this pandemic and are always so patient! Appreciate you all!
Fresh food
This store is such an amazing place for people with food sensitivities or simply looking to gain more information on living a healthy lifestyle! They really take the time to do their best to interact with their customers and have a real focus on education!
A great one stop shop. Organic produce all of the time. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff and the eatery alone is worth the visit!
Wow! 20cents for a plastic bag here! The Plastic Association of Canada suggests each bag costs 2.5 cents at most. No one likes to be nickel-and-dimed!????
They say they are a health food store and care about your health, but cannot even follow simple public health recommendations. I feel this store is a danger to our community. Multiple employees are not wearing masks, and they also allow multiple shoppers to walk around without a mask. DO NOT SUPPORT a business that cannot respect their own community and allows people to be put in harms way.
So much good there but WAY too much plastic used on their products. We will never be able to go plastic free if the stores don't go plastic free
I highly recommend to avoid this location unless you want to pay to ruin your body. The "nutritionist" enjoy diagnosing and advising people with invalid information in attempts to sell overpriced supplements. Even if you believe what you are advising to be true I doubt anyone working in the store is qualified to give such claims. Congratulations on making money off sick people
Best staff ever.
First time at Goodness Me and was taken away by their vast collection and variety offered. Unexpected and delighted! I enjoyed both their cold salad and warm food bar. They prepare the food on site which is my preference when in those rare …
I have had great experiences here. Their staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They always have what I am looking for.
I always look forward to doing my shopping here…great products, nice clean store, and very friendly staff. Last time the cashier walked me to my car with an umbrella because it started raining. They have very high standards for everything.
We had a great experience with Brittany (in training). She spent the time helping us and even went to a colleague to confirm additional information she wanted to share with us. We followed her advice and we have had success which is fantastic! Good luck Brittany – Goodness Me! is fortunate to have an employee like you!
Is it that hard to ask people politely to wear a mask? Were not naive enough to believe all these people have medical exemptions. Grow a spine and offend a minority of people, get them to wear a mask.
Amazing staff and customer service! I will only shop here from now on because they do not discriminate against anyone.
Has some good food options but the prices are high. makes sense since the quality is really good. Staff are nice and you can find a lot of neat things there! Will definitely be back for some items I cant find anywhere else
Really disappointed with the condition of the celery yesterday here:( The quality of the celery is consistently poor here. It wouldn't have been edible many days ago, and shouldn't be offered at all. I am considering reporting this store if this is what I see in the future to Health Canada. If you want to see what good quality celery, (especially considering the prices today) looks like, take a short trip to Zehrs, or Loblaws. You are supposedly the "health food" store, better pull up your socks, I know who to contact
Very good food, but could be a nicer place to eat with a few changes. I am a regular. I probably come in twice a week for lunch, and enjoy the quality and variety of the buffet. A few things that could be better: the eating area is extremely cold and uncomfortable in the winter. I've eaten many times with my jacket on and was still freezing. It would be great to have more of a variety of salad dressings in bottles. It would be great to have real cutlery. The tiny plastic forks are not designed to eat chicken and salmon with. They bend and break. Individual regular salt packets instead of the one container of flavoured salt. I end up taking food back to the office now because of the above.
A good health food store with a wide variety of products and offerings. Helpful staff and a very clean and organized store!
A little on the pricey side but deals and sales that still make it a worthwhile place to shop. Everything from fresh food, kumbucha and cold brew on tap to specialty foods for gluten free or custom diets.
No masks. No brains. No real reason to shop here.
Pretty good, but some items can be purchased elsewhere for less
It's a shame that the customers seem to be their last priority because I like the store. The customer service there absolutely SUCKS. The cashiers are S L O W - I swear they must be trained to go slow because they all seem to work at the same S L O W pace. And they have a bad attitude... the last time I was there the line up had some 10 people. Finally a 2nd cashier came sauntering over (very slowly) and said to me well I guess I may as well serve you... I can't go home yet ... blah blah blah. Today I asked why with so many people in line they don't have another cashier and I was told with such attitude "well, they can't be serving customers when they have to COUNT THE MONEY". Really?????????????? You say that to a customer? Awful awful awful customer service EVERY time I'm there. I've even seen people walking out because the line up is so long... just awful. I marked ONE star only because it wouldn't post it if I didn't put any.
My favorite place to eat in simcoe county. Eat great food and buy groceries all at once there, the prices are reasonable and there plenty of vegan cooked and raw options at the restaurant. I like the food by weight salad bar and the hot foods are awesome. Love the samosas. They have lots of gourmet raw options.
I was in your store today and was totally shocked to see the amount of customers, every other person not wearing masks.. I understand people rights on not being vaccinated, but as nurse and seeing what my colleagues have gone thru the past …
Goodness Me has been my favourite for a while. Top quality food, freshest vegetables and fruit, a great selection of health products. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I'm sad that their cafeteria is closed now, I enjoyed having coffee or lunch there. Great quality food, feels like it's home-made
I am a regular customer who loves their products. I would have given 5 stars except that their eatery has become extremely pricey ever since they changed to a per weight system--not to mention the hot food is often cold and dried up, and the customer service less than stellar. Still a great new addition to Barrie.
A GREAT experience, wow I was blown away. Amazing products, produce, and staff. A great options for those of us looking to eat and shop healthily. I wish I lived closer and could come regularly!
Good choice for a healthy lunch
Clean and welcoming atmosphere with nice produce area and simple layout. Staff is very friendly
One of my favorite stores. So bright and clean. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
Good variety and a very knowledgeable staff
NO MASKS=NO PROBLEM?!!!!! I am absolutely appalled by this store and the lack of mask enforcement by all the staff in the building. I am a person who is immune compromised and barely go …
Amazing selection, healthy scrumptious food and great service. Couldn't be more impressed.
I love this store and I shop here every Sunday. Last week Brittney helped me find a few supplements that are working extremely well for my family. The staff are always helpful and the store is nicely organized. I often recommend this store to my friends and family.
Amazing customer service!! Not the norm (their produce is usually great!) but had a bad bunch of celery from my pick up and they responded to the email within hours and replaced my whole order with no issues. Sam, the store manager was fantastic ???? Would have recommended this store before, but even more so now as they went above and beyond!
I was looking for a few things, 30 mins in I find someone to ask. Then I get the rudest response with a “why do you need that”. Needless to say left my cart in place, won’t be back, won’t recommend.
I've only had positive experiences here. The first time I came in I picked up Vitamin D that was shelved wrong at a lower price. When I questioned it at the cash the manager was called and honoured the price even though it was a …
Pricy but very well stocked, great products and wonderful staff
Good place for a healthy lunch
The organic produce in the store is subpar. Fifty percent is rotting at any given time, especially the leafy greens. What is in good shape can be purchased at Zehrs for a lower price (in the organics section). This has been the case at Goodness Me for the last 3 years. If the store can't find fresh produce, why stock the shelves with rotting vegetables? Granny Smith apples purchased at Goodness Me were mushy (old). Also, the meat section has dwindled in selection.
Had a good impression at first, but some products are way too expensive and I've noticed some workers are rather gloomy. Compared to other locally owned health food stores, your products don't impress that much. And of course all the managers would write positive reviews about the store, but what about the customers? Do they actually like it? It doesn't really seem like that's the case...
Thought I would try their coffee instead of Tim's across the street. They sell one size, a little smaller than Tim's medium. You have to purchase the cup first from the food counter which is a problem since the only attendant is typically busy making smoothies even at non-meal times. After waiting 10 minutes to purchase my cup, I discovered that both medium roast and dark roast dispensers were empty. There was another pot of dark brewed behind the counter but no medium. Yuck. Will stay with Tim's.
I love Goodness Me - great selection and even better service. However, I will not be returning whole Covid is still a problem. I have visited the store three times since masks were made mandatory and always encounter multiple shoppers without masks. I know its hard to control but other stores seem to be managing and ensuring a safe space to shop. Its a shame because I miss the vegan chocolate cake!
Pricey, but has a great selection of organic and locally sourced foods.
Not enough staff. Expensive
6 people not wearing a mask in here today. I will not be shopping here ever again.
I was planning on visiting your store this weekend to pick up a few things. However, in light of the extensive number of complaints of unmasked customers and staff that are permitted in your store (in combination with the ridiculous …
I shop there all the time but for my safety and those in my household, I will no longer support the business. Not only was a cashier not wearing a mask but I noticed two other customers without masks and staff did nothing about it . I am not sure why there was no enforcement but it made me very uncomfortable especially now when the numbers are so high and with the recent outbreak in Barrie. Unhealthy choices for a health foods store!!
Huge selection of high quality food
I have been repeatedly disappointed by this store since it opened. When it first opened I was excited thinking we were getting a store like Natures Emporium in Newmarket. Unfortunately the quality of the food and the customer service don’t even come close. It is a hassle for me to get out grocery shopping. I am a single mom of young son with Down syndrome. It is difficult to find the time to go shopping and when I can get out it is a challenge because of my son’s behavioural issues. My son has a lot of food allergies and I spend a fortune on food and supplements for him. I am so tired of getting my shopping home from Goodness me and finding half the fruit inside the bag rotten and finding that I have been overcharged for something. It happens EVERY time I shop there. I dont have a lot of money and it ticks me off that I spend good money on bad food and that I get overcharged all the time. This time, I happened to notice two rotten apples as the apples rolled around in the bag. I had to buy a more expensive bag of apples, just to get a bag without rotten apples in it. I checked my bill before driving away this time and sure enough, I was over charged for the bag of apples I bought. I never go back in to get my refund because it is WAY too much hassle with my son. But today I was shopping on my lunch break. So i went back in to get the price corrected. It took 30 minutes for them to attempt to fix the problem. I had to wait for the cashier to repeatedly call the grocery department, then eventually call the manager. I was upset that it was taking so long, while I waited, all I could think about was the amount of money this store has overcharged me and the amount of rotten food I have thrown out from this store. For the first time in my life, I actually asked the store to honour the retail code where a store gives you $10 off an item or gives you the item for free if they have overcharged you for the item. The manager said it was a voluntary retail code and they didn’t honour it. I pushed back and he went into the back and brought out a print off from the government of Canada website showing me the program was voluntary and they didn’t have to honour it. That speaks volumes for their integrity and for their customer appreciation. The fact that they had a print off shows that their habit of overcharging customers is a common practice. I told them to keep the money they overcharged me for the apples. That is the last of my money they will ever see. I have been ripped off far more than the cost of a bag of apples from this store. Terrible customer service. They have made it very clear that they don’t value their customers. I will NEVER shop here again. I will spend my money at Nutrition plus on Maple st. That is a store that truly appreciates their customers and they certainly get customer service right. And Dale, please don’t write an insincere response on here asking me to call in so you can make this right. You had your opportunity to make this right while I was speaking to you about it in the store today and you had no interest in making this right for me. Kari
