On our first visit to Bancroft, and being nosy tourists, Zehr's picked our curiosity. We enjoyed their coffee on site. We bought their Peanut Butter Nanaimo bars, lemon bars and Irish Cream Nanaimo bars. All received nothing but rave reviews from the gallery when we served them for dessert back at the cottage. My favourite were the Triple Chocolate Cookies - they were so buttery, they melted in our mouth. We will be back!

People are nice enough, but it was almost seven bucks for two pieces of what I'm certain was Black and Decker bread machine bread "piled high" with 2 badly-cut slices of corned beef. If you're poor like me, the (several?) day-old bread near the cash for 99 cents is decent when reheated.

Zehr's is an old school small town bakery. The baked goods are always fresh. I had the Chelsea Buns are they are the best I ever had. The breads are fine. There is nothing interesting i. taste or texture. They could introduce baguettes or sour dough. The sandwiches are generous and nicely priced but nothing special. Coffee is meh. There is no espresso machine in Bancroft. They could be the first and change their business almost overnight. Would I go there again? Yes for the baked goods.

Zehr's is a tribute to Bancroft's cottage-town persona. Both their baked goods and deli serve bountiful and flavourful favourites, from Chelsea Buns to 'piled-high' sandwiches. By the way, if you love cheese, this is the only place you'll buy cheese once you start!

Excellent selection of deli meats, cheese, baked goods and great coffee.. You can have lunch or a snack in a seated area or for take out! Love to go for a deli sandwich made to order and love their chilli... All the staff is friendly and courteous. I regularly stop there.

Used to visit this place often. Today we were charged about 20cents more per 100g at the deli counter than the advertised prices. New owners said the staff. Nothing we can do, they said. We won't be back said we. Complete ignorance on the part of new owner and staff. It was an enjoyable part of our visits to downtown..........

Wonderful to see small business still thriving thru this pandemic. Friendly staff and fresh goods with a safe flow for patrons make shopping great. They have great take out breakfast & lunch. A great way to reduce your carbon foot print and feel home town hospitality.

If you love date squares you need to buy some here. The deli is great, staff wonderful, they sell jars of sublime goodies - but nothing tops their date squares. Be careful though, I put on five pounds!

The wait was worth the GARGANTUAN 14" sub! The honey mustard they had was amazing. The cheese and meats were fresh. With the sub, you get a free pop as a special. We also got Monster cookies - what a highly addictive and tasty cookie with m&m pieces in it. We also grabbed a loaf of sourdough bread. The shop also sells various condiments, breads, meats, and crackers, exactly as expected in a deli. There are various instant noodle bowls, too. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a tasty sub in Bancroft. I've attached a picture so you can see the gorgeous sandwich.
