What a find on the way down to Petroglyphs Park! The baby dish was large and fulfilling. The texture was smooth, the taste rich, and it was a joy to the last bite! Their Black Raspberry Thunder is a must!

Stopping at Kawartha Dairy Bancroft on the way to Bancroft or the campsites / cottage country in the region is a must. The ice cream is delicious, well priced for the portion sizes (baby is honestly enough) and they have great milk products and local foods for purchase as well. Enjoy!

Be warned...large-ish scoops :) Also, can be very busy during their popular hours. May have to wait a bit but wait is WELL worth it. (Today I came around 4pm, week day & not busy). Bathroom on site for customers & sells milk products/baked goodies & misc. inside store (ice cream outdoors).

This is a nice little place to stop off at to get some ice cream for a pit stop on our way to Haliburton. The staff were quick and efficient and the ice cream was good. They are big portions so go hungry for ice cream! Inside you can buy cream, milk, jams, and other cheese's as well. Next time we go, I will definitely be buying some of their cheese.

Warning: ice cream sizes are much larger than expected, do not be afraid to order the baby size! I ordered a small in a regular cone and it was two massive scoops that wouldn't even fit in the cone so they put it in a cup.

Only if you can wait in the long lineup outside. Icecream, scoops etc available at the window so you have to lineup outside, and a long wait. However very good icecream and awesome taste and price. Convenience Store inside won't sell icecream, only outside window. Parking was easy. We waited almost 30 minutes just to get the icecream but even single scoops were so huge we had to to wait another 30mins to finish it. Worth it if you have TIME. Kids play areas nearby, no grass though, small gazebo in there if raining of you can wait under the front porch while lined up waiting for your turn. Icecream buying should be fun but as I said it was worth a long wait.

They have a lot of ice cream varieties at these Kawartha Dairy outlets on top of milk, cheese, various types of candy and knick nacks. They also generally give you a good sized portion. You might not leave feeling like you just scored a big deal, but you also are not likely to leave feeling like you got ripped off like when you get ice cream from some of the other (non-Kawartha Dairy) ice cream stores in cottage country.

Fiancé had the baby size in the picture which was still a lot, but you'll get an idea of size and portion from the picture. Definitely worth stopping by on a hot day!!

Great price for the amount of ice cream you get and the variety of great flavours. I've have loved Kawartha Ice Cream, and made sure to drop by when I passed through again. The sizes go from Baby, Small and Huge. Baby is the size of a standard McDonald's cone. Small is a double scoop (or more?), and Huge is almost a pint of ice cream.

Definitely swing by this pit stop for ice cream - so many flavours, but so little time. My favourite is definitely moose tracks: it's vanilla ice cream with chocolate woven in, as well as chocolate covered peanut butter bits, which are fun to find inside the ice cream. All ice cream can be served in a cup, sugar cone, waffle cone, in a milkshake or part of an ice cream sandwich. The full store actually sells tubs of their great tasting ice cream so you can take it home too!

Huuuuge ice cream cones!!!!! At a surprisingly low price. A lot more ice cream than what I expected. And, many, many flavours that I haven't seen for a long time. Real ice cream that stays cold longer and melts slower than quick serve. If you order a "huge" cone, don't forget to ask for a cup so you don't feel rushed get through it--it's big!!! Oh yeah, and great service too. Don't worry if there is a line up, it moves fast and by the time you have decided what you want, you'll be at the front. They are open until 9pm until late in the summer, and then until 8pm in the fall. Definitely worth the stop.

My family and I stopped here on the way home from our cottage a few times this summer for a delicious treat. They have got a huge selection of ice cream flavours, all of which can either be served in a traditional cone, cup, waffle cone, or even made into a milkshake! What more could you ask for? Now aside from the excellent product, the parking accommodations are less than desirable on a busy day - which are very frequent. Keep in mind that you may have to search around for a place to park. Each time I've visited, there's been a few dogs. The store is flanked by patches of grass which have the potential for your pets to stretch their legs and do their business, definitely a plus for my dog. Although I haven't personally participated, there's also a fenced in mini putt park for the to the left of the building. My other criticism stems from the lack of seating for customers. This means that you usually have to take your ice cream or milk shake to go. However this isn't a problem for many, just another thing to keep in mind.

The portion sizing here is totally out of whack. A baby cone is like 3/4 scoops. A single scoop is like 6-8 scoops, enough to feed a two people easily. I was totally turned off by the portion size, but you got your money’s worth. We pitched probably 2/3’s of what we ordered. It was super tasty and the service was amazing!

This location has loads of parking and is off the main road. It doesn’t have access to washrooms so that’s a bit annoying. I don’t know if that’s a COVID/pandemic response or they never have washrooms open. As it was very hot out, it was very helpful to have the tent providing shade while lining up. On a Saturday afternoon the line was about 5 mins long. There are signs posted with price and what’s available so you can be prepared with tour order. They are lacking descriptions. Unless you search it online or wait to ask when you get to the window, it’s hard to know what Tiger Tail or Heavenly Hash ice cream flavour are.

A long way to drive for small cones. We have been loyal Kawartha Dairy customers for ages. We have been to most of the Kawartha Dairy locations: Barrie, Newmarket, Uxbridge, Gravenhurst, and Bobcaygeon. We can now add Bancroft to our list. The ice cream here is the same as the other locations. The quality of the ice cream is always excellent; just like all the other locations. The flavours are also the same as all other locations. The only reason why I took a star off of this location is because of the size of the ice cream. We always order a “small” cone (which is two scoops). This way, we know exactly the size of the ice cream we should expect. The Bancroft location seems to “skimp” on the size of the ice cream cones. I noticed many customer cones where the size is about 20% smaller than what would be considered a normal size for a small. When I got my “small” cone, it definitely was smaller than expected. Very disappointing. Other location, such as Bobcaygeon or Barrie, seems to offer more consistent ice cream sizes. But if you can’t drive to other locations, expect to eat 20% less for the same price.

These people are serving the best, creamiest ice cream, and doing it with a system so that everyone gets their gigantic cup or cone of that sweet goodness as quickly as possible. On a hot day there is very little shaded area, so ice cream can get messy, but it's all good! Love it!

We love coming here! The ice cream is always delicious and the staff are usually really friendly! The spoons are just terrible though - they bend when you're trying to eat the ice cream, so it's really not convenient at all if you like your ice cream in a cup. Scoop sizes are pretty inconsistent as well, depending on who scoops it for you, so just keep that in mind when you're ordering more than one at a time. Definitely worth a visit - especially outside tourist season!

The next 2 bigger sizes are Small and Huge. I think Small is 2 scoops of 2 different flavors. And not even sure about Huge. Love their Pralines & Cream and Moose Tracks. Worst service ever stood in line 15 minutes they were scooping cones at 2 windows. I'm next in line I go to the far window and there's nobody there I wait like 3 minutes until finally somebody comes and I said is there nobody working this window they said no. So now I would have to get back in line and wait probably another 30 minutes because the line is longer now. So that I called to complain and Debbie told me oh know when we're busy we use that is Overflow and made it sound like it was my fault I should have known that. So maybe they should have some signage telling people standing in line that's what's happening. Worst customer service and worst service ever will never stop again. I do not recommend it to people the wait is definitely not worth it.

Free puppy cups!!!! Our dogs loved their vanilla cups and so did we. We got small in sugar cone, they looked like a large. 2 scoops and can have 2 different flavour too. Moose tracks is still our favourite. I tried the new pistacio and almond flavour, it had lots of almond pieces, very creamy but i would have prefered it not tasting like the flavouring. Didnt taste like an actual pistacio. The pralines and cream was delightful too.

An amazing place for a summer stop on a hot day. The ice cream flavours offered are terrific and the ice cream is second to none. Be wowed when you order a small and see the size of the scoops they give you. Kids will love it! Also offered is a diner and mini putt golf. Definitely worth the stop if in the Kawartha Lakes area.

Awesome ice cream. This is a great place to stop for a rest and a snack. They have two flavours of lactose free ice cream now! They no longer sell frozen yogurt unfortunately. There are washrooms inside. If you only want ice cream you can order it outside. Also ...There is a food truck outside.

If you're heading up to the Kawartha lakes or you're just in the Bancroft area, a stop at Kawartha dairy is a must. You'll see from the line ups that is true. The best ice cream in Ontario. They have a bunch of other locally sourced products for sale as well. And of course during Covid they have all the safety protocols in place to serve their customers safely. They also have a number of other locations in the region (Huntsville, bobcaygeon, Minden, Peterborough)

Love Kawartha Dairy. We stop at this location Everytime we are in the area. It's open all year round. Due to COVID-19, there are restrictions in place for the store but the outdoor lineup for ice cream is the same except for the spacing. Highly recommend visiting if you're in the area. Just and FYI... A Baby size is 1 scoop, Small is 2 scoops and Huge is 3 scoops. They are massive scoops so order with caution if you think you can eat that much ice cream.

We were there when it was almost time to close shop and It was still a little busy. As for ice cream, the flavors are great, creamy and flavorful and not overly filling. You can ask to try some flavors before ordering. Amazing part is that they offer free "pup cup" if your dog is allowed to have ice cream. Will definitely visit again!

Buy a cone for $5.50 or get a 1L tub of hand packed icecream for $6.30. Oh I’ll get that please. Then I’m told sorry we actually can’t do that for that flavor icecream but we have the manufacturer 1.5L tub of icecream. So I ask well how much does that cost? “6.50” So I paid less then $2 more and got a 1.5 tub of icecream instead of the cone. Not a bad deal.

First it's Kawartha dairy ice cream, so about as good as it gets. Went there for the first time this past weekend ordered a couple smalls and a large. The response I got when I passed over the small was "why did you get me a large?" And I had to say I didn't! Then when my large came, I almost regretted it because I didn't realize they were gonna give me a tub with every scoop! The problem I see here is if you order a large on a hot day, you're going to wear more of it on your arm than you're going to put in your belly because no human can it it fast enough...but I'm still gonna test that theory!

No doubt some of the best ice cream in Ontario- rating 4 stars because of COVID measures that need improving. Line up under the tent puts you directly behind customer in front of you (0.5 metres) which is NOT enough space, especially since most people are not wearing masks. There needs to be a linear line with an employee monitoring distance between customers. Also saw one of the employees consistently place customers' orders on the counter and then touch the counter right after with bare hands (the same counter that hundreds of customers a day are also touching when they pay for their order). Then saw the same employee go on to scoop the next order without washing their hands. Not sure if this is being done subconsciously but seriously we're in a pandemic, employees need to be more aware. Hope to return when safety measures are improved. At least employees are wearing masks. Ice cream is amazing but please have more regard for customer and employee safety!
