Maybe they were just having a bad day, but my experience was very bad. Can’t comment on their product as the service was so bad we left without purchasing anything. Rude customer service. Enough that even though we walked 30 min to get there, it wasn’t worth supporting a business like that. Just look at their response to this review. Not willing to take responsibility. Just blame Covid. Nope, sorry, doesn’t work for me. We were wearing masks, fully vaccinated, and respecting social distancing. Rude customer service doesn’t get a pass because of Covid. Be better.

Food is good but the place is very disorganized. If your hours say you're open at 11, be open at 11. Limited selection in the store front.

My Husband discovered this bakery about a year ago, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the food and Najah. We live in the South and will always drive West to come here. Not only does her food taste amazing but Najah is very kind and sweet hearted. She's constantly going out of her way to make sure her customers are happy. It's beyond just a bakery, she makes you feel welcome and really truly cares about your experience. I've been celaic for a few years now and it's so difficult to find food that tastes like the real deal without packing loads of sugars and processed ingredients. Everything that I've tried from Najah is wholesome and pure. I will continue to come here and purchase her delicious food items as it has made it much easier for me to know that being celiac isn't so hard when you have a local bakery like Rio Vida. Thank you so much for all that you do Najah!!

First time there today as we are visiting from Vancouver BC. So Happy!! We tried green onion cakes - delicious. Beef sausage roll - filling and tasty. Chicken empanada- yummy, very full of filling. Calzone - tasty! Cheesy! Butter tarts - flavorful and not too sweet. And cinnamon rolls - nice balance of cinnamon and sugar. We don't have any GF bakeries ( to my knowledge) that offer such a delicious variety of foods in GF, DF and/ or vegan. The staff we very pleasant and kind. We will try to come back as soon as we can! Thank you Rio Vida for having such a great little shop.

I can’t believe I just found this place, there are so many choices in this gluten free bakery. Staff is knowledgeable of top allergens, everything is well labeled and they do special orders with notice. If you want to save a little they have mixes and dough available. The frozen meals are great for lunches when we are in a rush. The perogies are a family favourite.

I have been fighting my dietary restrictions for months and I'm sitting at home after visiting Rio Vida today eating a sausage roll and I am in tears. It's so good and it tastes the way it should and it's such a huge relief to eat something that wont trigger my autoimmune disease! I will definitely be back! Thank you to the amazing ladies who helped me select items according to my needs, you have a special place in my heart and I am forever grateful. I’ve been going here for years. Family owned business and extremely warm staff. The flour is incredible! Salt and sweets are amazing, especially if your familiar with gluten free products then you know it’s hit or miss and this bakery has been a hit every time, delicious and fresh. Also enjoy that the owner allow me and my family to pre order even if it’s over 24hrs. This is a little gem in Edmonton

Edited March 5th to include pictures. Wow!!! First time here today and I cried at the kindness and great tasting cheese balls and donut holes that I got to try. I can't wait to try the sausage rolls, empanadas, green onion cakes, calzone and fresh buns that I purchased. I appreciate the time that was taken to show me all the good stuff and the tips to save money. I expected my bill to be substantially higher than what it was which was also wonderful. I will gladly make the drive across the city to support this wonderful business.

Moist, chewy, delicious! The cheese balls are amazing!!! The chocolate chip cookie was more spongy than expected but just as moist and chewy as one could hope for.

I have been missing alot of items as I'm a recent diagnosed celiac. Found this little bakery and my heart jumped for joy on all the things I've been missing. Their apple fritters was a party in my mouth. And their chicken pot pie Calzone was to die for. Their sausage roll made me question what the heck I've been eating before. Their freezer selection I will be coming to for lunches. Keep up the good work and delicious baking.

Wonderful experience and very friendly staff, who immediately asked about my dietary restrictions and gave recommendations. It’s a little shop, but very clean and orderly. We had a couple little flatbread pizzas, which they offered to heat up for us, and a shortbread cookie, and I noticed they had puff pastry dough, so I will have to come back!

Find The Impossible Here! - If you come from a European background, bread with a "real" crust is that impossible thing to find in a GF world. Real good bread is the spice of daily life. Rio Vida is old world good. We have never found anything like it in Edmonton. The smell, texture and taste of this bread tells you immediately that people who know something about good things are working here. It's a near miracle to make bread this good without wheat. The lady who runs Rio Vida is a gem and deserves our patronage. We need to support the work of people who put their heart and talent into making and baking the best there is. Took my girlfriend here. She was in heaven. Anybody that knows how hard it is to find GF treats and snacks. Will appreciate this place. Prices are fairly high which it expected with GF options. But a nice selection of GF treats.

I went there to pick up glutten free pizza crust for my grandson's birthday party and everything smelled so yummy. The owner is very nice and the crust was delicious. Big hit at the party and affordable enough to feed us all so we didn't have to worry about cross contamination. 100% recommend this place

I drove from out of town to find a gluten bakery for my diabetic wife, however I was dissapointed. After reading the raving good reviews, I realized now that they might have been out-dated. Really not what I was expecting. I do not recommend and I won’t repeat. Facility could have been also more clean and products could have been more fresh.

Started off with the gluten free pizza dough, and now there's barely anything they make that we Don't try. Rio Vida makes it easy for a gluten and dairy (in our case) free house to still have amazing treats!. Make sure to get a butter tart or six when you're busy seeing what other deliciousness there is!

I have never in my entire life experienced such a magnificent gluten free bakery! This woman is a gift to our community! Keep her afloat folks she's a hard-working tiny Edmonton business owner and she's worth every dime making a very very affordable specialty product either GF, vegan, or both! She will make you anything and she will make it affordably. Call her and she will bake it from scratch if you need a custom order. But you can also just walk in and have the most incredible calzone caught right out of the oven mouth watering!

Friendly knowledgeable bakery for gluten free. Great homemade food with many options mostly frozen to prepare at home, for the homemade smells in your own kitchen. They will also prepare their items to most allergies restrictions, all you have to do is ask and pre order. Cant rave enough about this little gem.
