If you haven't stopped in at the rare scratch bakery then your totally missing out , calmar bakery has been around for a long time we used to stop in and buy a dozen doughnuts each for our breakfast before heading out to build silos in the late 1970's , still the best ever , some days if your not in early enough they'll be sold out , I loved this bakery for decades hopefully more to come , thankyou !!

Donuts are traditional style, yummy and so fresh. Recommend to go in the morning. There maybe lineup. One time we went around 1 pm and it's all sold out. We tried the chocolate chip cookies as well. Simple and tasty.

What a find!!!! We have passed the Calmar bakery several times on our way out to Pigeon lake over the years and had been meaning to stop in to check it out. Well I wish we had stopped years ago. We were blown away with the selection and tasty treats. We picked up a dozen donuts, jalapeño cheese buns, brownies and some bread and we loved them all. Can’t wait to stop by again.

I drive 35 minutes to get these donuts from edmonton and I'll continue to do so until I die or they close down. They are amazing. The brownies are excellent too, as are the cinnamon buns. The only problem is I usually eat 6 or 7 donuts the day that I buy a dozen and then I want to die Edit Years later and I am still as hooked as ever. I don't recommend 5 donuts in a row with no other food though

The donuts here are excellent and everyone is very friendly. The only downside is the c9nstant increase in prices over the last year or so. I used to get a half dozen donuts for $5, now it's a half dozen for $6 and any "specialty" donuts are extra.

R they under new management? The donuts still taste good but are teeny tiny now and only half of the chocolate. I drive up from Leduc to get these but pretty much might as well go to Co Op. Very unfortunate. Will not return.

We were told a while back that this was a bakery we needed to try out so when we finally had a weekend to explore outside the city we stopped in to check it out and to grab some doughnuts. Right away it reminded me of a small family run bakery that I use to go to as a kid. The people who worked there were very friendly and it smelled heavenly upon entering. We asked for a dozen mixed doughnuts and they did not disappoint. For $11.50 (or at least close to that) you really get a good deal. If you have ever gone to any of the designer doughnut shops around Edmonton and Calgary, and spent over $30.00 for a dozen mediocre doughnuts then stop….go here instead. As a home baker I can say they are very good at making a delicious doughnut. The dough they use for the cake doughnuts had just the right amount of vanilla flavour and were not at all greasy or too dry. I have not had a good cake doughnut for quite a while so finding their cake doughnut to be as good as it was was a nice surprise. We will definitely make the trip from Sherwood Park to go here from now on.

Nasty... Stopped in here.this place does NOT smell like a bakery; has a foul smell. It was filthy. There were only about six selections of items to buy and very expensive. Purchased four 'toonie' sized butter tarts and cost over $7.. Would NOT recommend.

The Calmar bakery is a hidden gem. The donuts here are amazing. Super soft fried dough and great glazes. Bread and buns also available as well as cookies squares and fudge. Prices are great. Friendly staff. Worth the 25 minute drive from Edmonton to pick up a dozen for the office and a coffee.
