My wife and I bought a home in Windsor from Vancouver and the transaction was executed via email and with a Vancouver lawyer. We were referred to Farhat & Associates Law Firm - Rashid Farhat and we moved forward with this law firm in Windsor. When we arrived from Vancouver the paperwork for the Windsor home had been signed and was stress free. The staff was proactive, helpful and very professional. We spoke several times with Kim prior, during and post this transaction and she was patient with our questions and had a very obliging. I also moved forward with a will and power of attorney document with Rashid. This was my first experience concerning this procedure and Rashid was very through, understanding of my questions. Signed and sealed. The next opportunity for my wife and I to employ this law firm when we purchased a home out of province. We sold our Windsor home, paperwork for closing was handled by Farhat and again it was seamless. Our paperwork for our new home was all done via emails and with our lawyer in the city and province where we purchased our new residence. Kim, Amanda and Rashid from Farhat were stellar. To coordinate this long distance transaction for us is nothing less than exemplary. As first time home buyer, I contacted him to help me out, in fact, it extremely difficult speak with him over the phone unless sent email and then wait to get back. It’s alway answer by the receptionist and taking messages and sometime, we had to follow several times so our experience was worse, there are several cost associate that you need to be aware despite what he says, in fact he pays several people money and encourages to rate him and most of them are friends and people known to him asked for google review so be care when you reading. Rashid Farhat send me a quote for the price as we needed to have an idea he was trying to change and add up extra cost into it so it sounds fishy and overall, we had experience with him. So I would give my honest suggestion, please do your research before you decided to hire him. He always write in the email that others are not real estate, they could be immigration or criminal lawyers that they do the job so it’s one of his way that he want to play and get clients, you can easily do your research about the credibility of the lawyer by visiting Law society of Ontario, you can check it online or give them call. But definitely this guys Farhat we had bad experience and not recommending at least to my friends

My fiance and I purchased our first home in August. The whole process of buying our first home was a little overwhelming! When we needed to pick our lawyer, I asked for advice from friends and family and did a quick search online of Real Estate lawyers in the Windsor area. The receptionist had very poor business ethics and refused to make a appointment around my schedule with 3 weeks of negotiating. Also poor phone etiquette and only liked email communication. We booked them almost 2 months prior to our closing and a week before our closing date they told us they are representing our sellers. We were very disappointed with this unprofessionalism although the team claims they have did try to call us and but we never heard anything till one week prior to our closing and of course our realtor told us and he got the call and not us. The team and Mr Farhat have communicated multiple times over the email while accepting us as their client two months ago but of course didn’t bother sending us an email about this, strange. Maybe because we were just buying One house and another party was selling and buying a new house so of course more money with them. We managed to find another wonderful team, Culmone Floro firm who took care of us and we are happy that we hired them and also has recommended other friends buying houses. They need to be little more personal I think specially when you are in customer service:) anyways good luck!

I am extremely surprised about all "Five Star" reviews. In my opinion, the services are Mediocre. I have dealt with this firm twice and both times not that great an experience. Before even hiring them. I had sent in part of OREA to ask if it will be possible for us to be able to keep the appliances the way contract was written, answer I got back was "technically yes". So we moved forward with them. 2 days before closing I was bombarded by the assistant to gather all the documents that were missed for closing. Again they had 60 days to prepare for all this. And then it was "rush rush rush" up until 3 pm of closing day by which time I gave every single necessary document and all the monies. And then "Sorry closing cant happen" because they didnt receive the money from the bank. Bank later verified they had sent all the money much before the closing time of 5 pm. To put cherry on top, right at the last minute the firm came back and said we won't be able to keep the appliances. Later I found out that the sellers werent able to close on there own deal!! Unbelievable! All I observed was that my interest was not at the center of this entire deal and I was very disappointed. Granted the firm replies back and answers questions. But the entire real estate transactions are setup to be done as a rush rush deal soo they can move on to the next Client. And of course focus is on getting the buyer to close instead of a proper representation.
