Needing a much more comprehensive and up to date Will that would relieve my Trustee and family of a lot of stress in settling my Will and Estate, I engaged with this law firm on the advice of my son who praised them highly in preparing his Will with them. Lawyer Andrea Price was so very pleasant, patient and articulate with me translating legalese clearly into language for my 78 year old brain. Given I live well away from Vancouver we related by email, telephone, Zoom and eventually met in person at her firm for signing the Will, Representation Agreement and Power of Attorney documents. I rate this law firm as having much more than “good value“ for thoroughness, efficiency and fees.

I was first introduced to Mike Beishuizen when he guided my mother through being the executor of my father's estate. My mother was in her 80's and couldn't have picked a better person for the job. Mike put her at ease with his professional and pleasant demeanor. He was empathetic and patiently explained everything so she understood each step. BE WARNED: If you sign up for an appointment, they may ask you spend hours filling out forms, wait months for an appointment, and then call up and fire you as a potential client the day before your first consultation. All of your time wasted and all of your data collected without an engagement letter, to benefit their high volume approach. That was my experience. Details... At the beginning, I spoke to their twice by phone and exchanged emails in preparation for a meeting. I was concerned that my status as a Canadian resident and US citizen as well as business owner may be considered complex and flagged this on two different occasions, but their staff assured me it was no problem. They required my wife and I to fill out a long form document including all of our personal information, family relationships and assets. We provided this information a month before the meeting was scheduled. Nonetheless, they called me one day before the meeting with the lawyer and stated they could not offer us service because our case was too complex. This amounted to about ~8 hours of our collective time wasted and 2 month delay to obtaining a will. I must say it was also extremely invasive that they collected all of our personal and financial information prior to making us aware they would not serve as our counsel. This was exceptionally unprofessional behavior in my experience.

Her firm specializes in wills and estates and charges a very reasonable price. They actually have a flat rate for all wills and estates. We were making changes to our wills which could have raised issues in this province and with Kirsten's help we were able to counteract any challenges that there might have been with the BC Wills Variation Act We got much higher quotes from other law firms. And, they make a donation to charity from every payment.

My experience has been excellent. I was put in touch with Katrina Yaworksy whom I found friendly yet professional. First two meetings were conducted over the phone and the final signing meeting was in person. You can opt for virtual meeting but I preferred a phone call. I made a few changes to my POA Agreement but each time Katrina was super helpful and supportive in producing the documents that match my wishes. She managed to structure it exactly the way I wanted.
