This is definitely the worst worst worst experience I have ever had! It seems like no one cares about what are they doing! It took me 6 month to get final document ready for registering a company, and took me another couple of month to draft shareholder agreement(it is still not finish yet, but I give up on it) .... No one responds emails about my feedback for the change... This is the definitely the worst place to come!

FIND ANOTHER LAWYER TO REPRESENT YOU. I would give negative star if possible. Absolutely the worst office to deal with. Sunny should not be doing this as a profession. He does pay attention to detail. Doesn’t reply. With our current deal he has fumbled the contacts every step of the way, causing great stress on all parties as he has pushed everything to the deadlines. He never reads his updates. He doesn’t know his deadlines even though he was told before hired and it’s clear in the contract he doesn’t read. He leaves office during mid negotiations, having all parties waiting to finish real estate deal, by 4pm( & no secretary). It has been like a practical joke dealing with him. We wish we had never called their office. I would highly recommend calling someone else if you A) want your contracts done correctly B) want a responsive lawyer to represent you C) want things done properly, legally and responsibly. He should not charge for his services, as he is incompetent in every way. Maybe hes retired as has no secretary and leaves office by 4pm in the middle of deal between law offices with deadlines. How he got hired to a firm is beyond me. STAY AWAY AND FIND ANOTHER PERSON/FIRM TO HIRE!!

Go with Velletta if you'd like inconsistent assistance and poorly-trained junior admin staff who play games with your time and get caught talking your business around town. We moved firms after we'd been at Velletta for several reasonable years, due simply to cost. The moment we made our decision to move known, Valetta's staff ceased to be helpful or respectful and became intentionally obstructive on our way out. Issuing nonsense paperwork, no explanation invoices they later retracted, conflicting instructions from differing staff as to how our files would be transferred. It was a mess, it seemed obviously intentional, and it was only after we said we were leaving. They wasted our time, they wasted our money, and they were rude while they did it. Thumbs down - go with a place that's professional even when you're leaving.

My husband and I went with Velletta with our straightforward spousal immigration case. 10 months after our application was filed, we were notified they had "documents" waiting for us to pick up. The documents were our returned application. Due to a series of unfortunate circumstances out of everyone's control, Velletta informed us they were no longer handling immigration cases and we needed to seek new counsel elsewhere to reapply. Michael Velletta agreed to refund us entirely due to our unfortunate experience. However, upon receiving our refund, we were only issued 60% of what was due. As we reviewed our returned application with our new counsel, the errors were appalling. Not only were there multiple errors in the application itself, we now have to pay to apply again as a box was checked to forfeit our application fees to the government should the application be returned as incomplete. My husband and I cannot believe the incompetence we endured in dealing with this firm.

I am a 57 yr old man born and raised in Victoria, I am highly educated and a computer support specialist for 22 yrs...i was injured while i was a passenger in a vehicle while in Nanaimo and wearing my seat belt. I am not able to work anymore due to the injuries i have sustained i was given the name of Velletta and company but they are so badly "high on themselves" 1) they asked for a credit card for a case that was "contingency" and got very upset they i do not have a credit card 2) they have had my file for more than 4 months and then have returned the file to previous lawyer with a "conflict of interest" issue which they will not explain...in detail 3) the demeanor of the staff at Velletta and company is beyond comprehension for their lack of compassion for people who are badly injured I do not trust Velletta and company and you should not either....their condescending and contemptuous behavior is very unprofessional

I suggest looking elsewhere when it comes to immigration law. After months of confusion and disjointedness during the paperwork process, we were finally able to get our spousal sponsorship application submitted. Our application was eventually returned and marked as "incomplete". After speaking directly with Michael Velletta and him promising(unprompted) a full refund for the inconvenience, time wasted, and poor quality of work, we received a cheque for roughly 60% of what was promised. After that our phone calls and messages were ignored and never returned. The whole paperwork process took way longer than it should have and after our application was returned we believe it sat in their office for multiple months. All in all it took Velleta and Co. well over a year to help with the paperwork, wait for immigration Canada, and then relay to us that our application was returned. So much of our time was wasted. Once we found another lawyer who specializes in immigration law they were able to point out multiple errors within 20 seconds of reviewing our returned application. An example of the poor quality of work, Velletta and Co. had us submit our marriage registration instead of marriage certificate. Among other issues that one sticks out as a pretty obvious mistake that only inexperience can excuse. Find you a firm that specializes in immigration law and treats it's clients with respect.

Oh my gosh, mine and my partners mortgage was an absolute nightmare. Sunny received our documents mid morning the day before closing. Sunny stayed late to review our documents, and met with us at 9pm just so that the documents could be signed in time. he then personally delivered them to his assistant at 10pm to ensure that our lender would receive them before the day of closing. Sunny worked tirelessly for us, and despite EVERYTHING going wrong, he got us our home. I cannot put in to words how grateful I am for having had such a loyal, hard working, and kind lawyer to have supported us during this incredibly challenging yet rewarding time. I expressed many concerns and anxieties during the 24 hours leading up to close and Sunny was always available to offer constant reassurance and support, reninding us that he had it covered, and sure enough, he did. The hospital gave me a list of lawyers I could pick from. I contacted 5 of them and asked them a number of questions. I chose Natalia by a long shot. I looked for a lawyer with "good reviews" on the web and found Eric Pederson. With a few exceptions I find that other people's experiences usually match my own. I found Eric very knowledgeable and assisted me in standing up for my rights. From my experience with Eric he does what all lawyers should do but unfortunately many don't. The fees were fair and I wasn't loaded with any unexpected other charges. So if you need a lawyer you can trust I would recommend Eric.

Met with Larisa Anderson, about US work VISA's for entrepreneurs (specifically B1 and E2), as I was opening a business in the US. Unfortunately she didn't seem to have much depth of experience in this area. The cost was $150 for a 30 min consultation, where I was essentially provided information that was freely available on the US Immigration's website. There was nothing that I couldn't have looked up/printed off myself. Whenever asked a question that was detailed and specific to my situation, she unfortunately did not know for sure, or could not provide an answer if it wasn't in the materials from their website. In other words, there was no value added. For the high price of a consultation, that is what one expects. I had to seek the services of another immigration lawyer in the US, and immediately the difference in experience and knowledge was apparent: the US lawyer was able to answer the questions I had about my situation and 'grey areas' concisely. Whilst Larisa was polite, professional, and scheduled an appointment on short notice (pros), all of which I appreciate, unfortunately she didn't appear to be experienced in work VISAs/Immigration Law for Canadian entrepreneurs opening US businesses, and didn't provide me with anything I didn't already learn from reading the US Government website (cons). There was no value added. I feel that the right thing to do might have been to mention this was not her area of expertise and advise to seek a different attorney and save the time and $ instead of setting up the appointment. I would advise Canadian entrepreneurs to seek out an alternate Immigration Attorney who has the expertise and experience in this specific area. (Specifically B1 and E2 VISAs).
