My spouse and I recently retained Lorrie’s legal services to help us navigate a very tricky situation during one of the most challenging times in the market. We have been landlords of various properties for over 15 years. Throughout this time, we’ve had a property manager and for the most part, had never experienced any significant challenges until the Spring of 2020. This is shortly after the Covid-19 pandemic struck shutting down Ontario. We had received a complaint from one of our tenants about some damage to the property that needed to be addressed. In the interest of supporting our tenants and protecting our investment, we wanted to take immediate action to understand and resolve the issues. We learned that many of the issues were due to negligence from both the tenant and property manager. Despite property management being considered an essential service, we were completely abandoned by him. This can be a very precarious situation during the best of times, and when you add the lockdowns to the mix, it makes it that much more uncertain. Lorrie really provided an experience for us that was simply outstanding. She is very knowledgeable from a legal perspective and brings years of experience in property management to the table. Although we could not predict exactly what would happen or when, Lorrie always provided her best advice supported by legal precedence in our jurisdiction. She was also highly service oriented and made herself available whenever we needed to speak with her by phone, email or text. Through her professionalism and service orientation she quickly earned our trust and helped us arrive at mutually agreeable terms during a mediation with our tenants.
