I was in a legal bind, and my former hired law firm did not.... "Communicate effectively" or we had a "break down in communication" (what the former firm representative TOLD me to say). They did not truly even try to show positive regard or demonstrate that they knew me as a person or even as a client case file after the intake. There were many discrepancies and drama for me with that firm's bias, transferance, disorganization and hostility with mixed signals. I know I didn't feel welcome, and some points it's like my case was not on their radar or a priority even on MY days for court or scheduled phone appointments (hours or interactions I was to be paying for). I was always treated like a last minute idea, ill informed and heckled or left looking dumb during court appearances due to the "communication break down".
After talking to MacGillivray's intake, administrative assistants and the lawyers themselves over the phone; THEY seem to know who I am, took notes or remember my situation or specifics. They are in the process of assisting me with my case and I cannot comment much more.
In short, my experience between another firm from in another province (my former home) and how they treated me; compared to MacGillivray Law Firm in the new province of which I live in:
MacGillivray have been professional, cared, did their best to understand, never rushing me or brushing me off or invalidating me because of the peculiarities surrounding how I ended up at my witts end with the former legal encounter. They took over and my stress, anxiety, and negative self talk has been eased and not directly triggered .... The feeling of being respected has helped me get to a better inner space (with more work needed).
You shouldn't have to pay to be treated with empathy and humility. In my prior situation, I was to be paying and STILL treated in a way that did not seem normal.
Living with the ramifications after an auto accident is difficult enough. To know and feel the legal representation you hire, care and are professional: its a blessing. Money can't buy that, and I am not a crying person but tears of joy ran down my face with MacGillivray's Law Firm.
Hope restored and no matter the outcome: I know MacGillivray Law Firm didn't lead me on, write me off, lie to me or make a difficult situation worse. The first time I had tears of joy in my life and that was just from speaking to them and waiting until the day they informed me that they are willing to take a look at my case and help me if they can. That's all I ever wanted.... And they delivered. Anything else that happens is God's work through them and the legal system to come to a conclusion so I can finally put the accident behind me and my family. We can move forward thanks to MacGillivray.
I recommend this firm 100%.
