It’s difficult for me to write this. I would not recommend Beau Atkins at Evolve Family Law as I am disappointed and dissatisfied by his representation during my divorce. At first he instilled confidence in me that he intended on advocating for me and for the best interest of my kids, and I felt like I was being heard and respected. Soon during the process I was constantly needing to continually reach out to him as my emails and calls would go unanswered. After discussing this initial issue he apologized and I felt he was then making an effort to prioritize me. During my divorce proceedings Beau had branched off from his former firm Edge Family Law. With that he informed me that he was going to be providing legal services in a different and more ‘forward’ way. He explained how they were going to charge my legal fees upfront for whatever direction we decided was needed. It was explained to me that in doing so, me as the client wouldn’t be hit with extra expenses. It made sense. In my situation it was decided that my ex-husband needed to be served with a notice of disclosure followed by taking him to pre-trial. I was billed accordingly and paid my bill in full. Leading up to my pretrial date Beau instilled confidence in our stance, and he was realistic when setting my expectations. I was sent an email from him where he told me to not stress about the pretrial and that it was his job to advocate for me. A few days before my pretrial date, I got informed that Beau had to quarantine due to covid exposure. I was given the option to postpone or have his associate Andrew Arguin represent me along with Melissa Nelson who was a law student at that time. Due to the pandemic we experienced a longer wait for this initial pretrial and for me I couldn’t wait the extra months to postpone. I couldn’t wait financially and I couldn’t wait longer with how toxic my situation was with my ex-husband. Beau assured me that Andrew was up to date with my file, and Beau assured me he would be available by phone during the whole thing. I was poorly represented by Andrew during my pretrial. He was not prepared and he did not know my case. I felt pressure by him to agree to terms that I shouldn’t have. I felt unheard, disrespected, and disregarded. Following my pretrial Beau failed to follow up with me until I finally reached out. I discussed my dissatisfaction. He was argumentative. I asked for a refund of a portion of my legal fees as I paid for his representation, not Andrew who was his junior. Beau responded by acknowledging that he agrees I wasn’t represented effectively and that Andrew made decisions without my consent or input for my agreement. He then said ‘I’m running a business, it’s not like I can just give you money back’. He then made me feel humiliated as I explained that the amount I was requesting as a refund wasn’t a big deal, like that amount of money was insignificant. Then he said ‘This is just the consequences of marrying an a**hole’. After a very heated conversation, he came up with a compromise where he would cover the legal expenses regarding the settlement of my family home. When I was finally able to obtain my mortgage and reached out to Beau to take him up on our agreement I was met with underlying hostility. There was an issue which I felt was an oversight in my agreement that needed amending for my mortgage to be finalized. When I reached out to Beau, he responded by threatening to refuse paying the legal expenses as he agreed to and discharging me as a client, stating I came across ‘ungrateful’ and that we ‘seem to disagree’. Which is interesting because he emailed me after our initial conversation with my dissatisfaction where he apologized and acknowledged what happened. We were able to come to an agreement. He expressed frustration and anger towards me stating ‘I’m still paying for issues with your case from my coffers’. Which upset me as he was placing guilt on me as the client for whatever inadequacies that were going on behind the scenes. I have since needed further legal aide this fall and Beau ignored me.
Beau Atkins and his team were super helpful in a time sensitive situation. I would recommend this law firm to anyone needing fast professional help with family legal matters!
I found I was always able to get answers in a reasonable timeline and Beau was good at getting back to me when I had questions or concerns. The price for his services was fair and far better value than my previous lawyer. The end results were as predicted by Beau and his advice and continued help over the last few years has been great. I would definitely recommend Beau Atkins for any Family matter needs without hesitation.
Working with Evolve so far has been smooth and efficient. I completed the first steps on their website and was connected with one of their lawyers in no time at all via video call. During our conversation, pricing and services were laid out for me and I finally feel I have all the information needed to make an informed decision. Thanks for all the help!
I am a fairly new customer with Evolve Law and have been dealing with Melissa. I can honestly say that I am EXTREMLEY satisfied with how fast she responds and gets the work done. I am grateful at the fact that Evolve Law makes it easier for people in my position financially to get the help they need. Melissa has taken an extreme amount of stress off my shoulders. I highly recommend Evolve Law.
My experience with Evolve has been great! Andrew's knowledge and caring attitude (and patience) have been appreciated during my divorce journey. I don't feel like just a case number. I recommended him to a friend without hesitation.
Beau and his team where amazing to deal with, great communication and also helped with a referral. Office is in great location. Definitely the team to go with!!!
I recommend Evolve Family Law Office Saskatoon. Very much so. Andrew represented me in a very difficult long drawn out Separation Agreement and property split due to the other side being uncooperative and difficult. He stayed in constant contact with me being focused and professional even when I was ready to give up. The quality of work they do for a very reasonable fee is something to pass on to anyone going through a difficult time like I was. Way over the top. Try this law office. Thank you Andrew and office!!
Highly recommend Beau Atkins! He is very easy to talk to, knows his stuff. Prices are great. Responds quickly. His staff are wonderful. Amazing!
Beau is my go to person when my clients or I have questions that are outside of my area of expertise (I am a private practice therapist). I have referred clients to Beau for legal assistance and they have been very happy with his services.
I would recommend Evolve Family law in heart beat. I was in a situation that I thought I was going to loose my kids and my ex was going to be able to take them away from me and move almost 2 hours away. I was in a place of hopelessness, I was depressed and terrified, when I found Andrew. He helped me through one of the toughest times of my life, he said he would fight for me all the way and he did, I went from only seeing my kids when my ex said, to having them on a regular schedule, but most importantly they were not taken away from me. Thanks Andrew Arguin. Andrew is very knowledgeable, professional, effective and caring, he will give you peace of mind in a stressful but successful outcome. In my opinion there is no Attorney that will work as hard for you as he will. They are a fantastic Company...
Don't recommend a specific lawyer there.... I was with them for nearly 3 years and did not feel like they fought for me. Being he was a single dad should clear that up... beware moms! Went to a new law firm and finally getting stuff done and feel like my new firm is on my side!
I was looking at getting a prenuptial agreement made up and they were quick and easy to communicate with as well as affordable. I ended up not needing their services but the experience was great and I would recommend Evolve Family Law.
As a single Mom, going through a separation and walking away from our family home was the most difficult time of my life. Beau Atkins was absolutely phenomenal. He told me every possible outcome and was 100% transparent and upfront about costs. I couldn't ask for a better lawyer to stand up for me. He listened and guided me. Fortunately, unlike Stephanie, I have nothing but a positive experience. There were times I was being absolutely ridiculous and did NOT want to hear what Beau was saying ie. knocking me down a few pegs when necessary, but he truly had my daughter's best interest in mind. Although I never wish to go through another separation, I wouldn't hesitate to use Beau's services again.
Beau and his team helped me with my interspousal changes. I thought he was fair and seemed to care more about the outcome and the needs of the parties rather than increasing his billing. I wish I had used him from the beginning and have recommend this team to people I know that I want treated well
I would recommend Evolve Family law and Beau Atkins to anybody looking for Family law services. He answers every concern with patients and professionalism. I found the rates very reasonable for the quality of work i received.
