I have had a terrible taste in my mouth ever since dealing with Rodney as my lawyer for a past DUI. I paid for Rodney hearing he was one of the best for my perdicament. I paid Rodney $5000 before taxes for a DUI, I knew what he charged and I bit the bullet to pay for him none the less. I went to Rodney's office once to discuss pay & he briefly discussed what was going on but I never seen him again to fallow up to what was going to come the day of court and what I was to do etc. This was my first time ever being in this type perdicament. The day of my hearing Rod was no where to be seen until about 5 minutes prior to the trial. You could tell he was running late as he rushed me into a room to inform me the constable who convicted me was there. He explained to me he had issues with this officer before now informing me I was going to be put on the stand where he told me on our prior visit this would not be the case as I have issues with nerves anxiety etc. This was not so much my issue as him being unprepared & not discussing anything with me in regards to preparing. The trial had begun and I could see now that the officer and crown prosecutor were working against me, as I said him and the officer had previouse history that's what he told me moments before my case. During the Hearing Rod shuffled frantically at times through the papers trying to find information, it was visible he had not looked at my case much, if even at all. There were multiple situation where the crown prosecutor who was against me whispered over to Rod telling him he had said something wrong and said things to help him stay on track as he was getting things mixed up. This was more upsetting to see than anything else. Now $5000 which was actually 5600 & change is a substantial amount of money to me & I know Rod did not do his part to earn even a fraction of what I gave him from showing up late, to being unprepared, losing himself in the papers, giving me misleading information about being put on the stand (as this would have affected my decision to follow through), and also getting help from the crown prosecutor who was against me? I GAVE rodney $5000 for a half hour of his time to dicuss matters (being the day we discussed pay) & for attending my trial which lasted the best part of an hour & as I said he did a horrible job wasn't prepared & showed up late. I have never felt so much like I've been taken advantage of in my life. I don't know if he had too much going on at the time, if he was over confadent or simply didn't care about the case but from what I seen Rod is a terrible lawyer who I know from other lawyers is not well respected. I would never recommend him to anyone & I will do what I can to ensure nobody gets ripped off by him the same way I have.
