Welcoming atmosphere, fabulous legal team
I had great results and a great experience with Craig O'Brien. Spoke my language and took care of things in a timely manner with no unnecessary back and forth.
Great pleasure working with them!
I had a great professional experience with Wing T Yan, lawyer at Nelligan Law. After filing a trademark on my behalf, she and members of her staff were responsive as they generously provided all related info to register my screenplay copyrights with Industry Canada and the Library of Congress. Should I require additional assistance, I feel that I shall obtain great support. I recommend this legal group to anyone who wants great service and good value for their money.
I recently engaged employment lawyer Jim Anstey @Nelliganlaw and my experience working with Jim was a very positive one. From my intake call to speaking with Jim shortly thereafter I was treated as a valued customer. Jim answered all my questions in a timely manner, consistently checked in with me to ask how I was doing, and provided clear and wise recommendations that in the end produced a very favourable result. I also believe Jim's experience working with both employers and employees enriches his insights and in turn strategies. I highly recommend Jim Anstey.
Yea
Great advice provided to take next steps and find a resolution that was mutually beneficial. Thank you Jill Lewis!
It was a seriously shocking & disappointing experience! My file is still not finalized and there is still no response. Unprofessional to say the least!
All in all, not the smoothest of experiences, but I was extremely grateful that the CEO reached out to me to rectify the situation and make things right. That being said, my experience with Dana was excellent. She was very attentive and knowledgeable, I felt she truly cared about my situation. Thank you.
I deal with lawyers and assistant at this well established and reputable Law Firm. Staff are professional and helpful. Lawyers are knowledgeable and helpful. Fees are competitive.
Feel taken advantage of. They made sure they had thier fee, but the apppointment did not go for the alotted time. Then received e mail saying they could not represent us. From their being stand-offish during meeting can only surmise it is we are an interacial couple.
Very professional. But most importantly, they took the time to listen and understand where I was coming from. Kudos!
Responsive, professional, knowledgeable and successful.
They never returned my calls
This firm was referred by another local attourney, providing the retainer fee was a nightmare, and signing the retainer letter, as this firm clearly does not make it user friendly for its clients. I received minimal contact, and the agreed to terms on which I agreed to hire this firm were not met, HIGHLY do not recommend dealing with this firm or any of its lawyers. Bad taste left in my.mouth after this experience. Very unprofessional, money focused......
Jake and Veronica assisted me with a real estate matter - They were extremely helpful and honest. There were several setbacks from the other side of my deal, but both were extremely attentive and supportive. I'll be going back to Nelligan with any of my future legal needs.
I was referred to Sarah Clowater, and she was everything I could have hoped for in a lawyer. She was attentive, responsive and an absolute professional. She thoroughly explained every option I had, what risk each option carried and took the time to explain anything I didn't understand.
The firm was extremely responsive and helpful from the very first call I placed to them regarding an employment law inquiry. The staff are all very knowledgeable and helpful. I felt that I was heard and Malini took the time to listen to my concerns and was very supportive. Our claim was settled in a reasonable time frame and I was very pleased with the manner in which my claim was handled. So much so, that I immediately referred two other individuals. I would highly recommend Malini Vijaykumar and the firm.
I was a potential client and had had a positive initial meeting with one of their junior lawyers. We had discussed process and I was feeling confident in their ability to assist us, we felt like we had a good direction to go in. I’m assuming that the lawyer decided she no longer wanted to work with us so rather than just advising we could not move forward, she completely ignored all correspondence and calls. I’m honestly flabbergasted at how unprofessionally this was handled. I do not recommend this firm.
All in all, this was a very disappointing experience which has left me disillusioned with Nelligan O’Brien Payne. While I am satisfied with the document produced (my will), the exorbitant fees and sticker shock on receipt of my final invoice left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I was initially assisted by lawyer Erin Kelley who drafted my will (an original session of over an hour, drafting the will document, email exchanges - for roughly $1200). When she left on maternity leave, lawyer Nuwanthi Dias took over my file to make some revisions and final adjustments for which I was charged almost $1500 – a few hundred MORE than for the original drafting of the will itself. The total bill was almost $3K! The itemized list provided with the invoice indicates that I was billed for every email, and several blocks of time stated that Nuwanthi and team spent on my file although changes from the draft to the final text are small. Feeling Fleeced
I would rather set myself on fire then deal with this organisation again :)
I dealt with Carol Craig, and her assistant lawyer, Natasha Chettier. Wonderful human beings who worked hard on my behalf. They are considerate, compassionate, caring, professionally impeccable. They worked hard toward best outcomes, explained things, communicated very reliably. I was very lucky to have found Carol Craig, who then elicited Natasha on my behalf. Thank you for your advice and kind devotion in your work.
Tracy Lyle is an extremely professional and efficient lawyer. I'm extremely glad I went to her with my issues as she rectified the situation for me and was extremely proficient.
I am sharing my experience with trying to get a hold of someone to hear me out and see if I have a possible case or not. It started off with me filling out the contact us form on their website. I received an email within 24 hours asking me to describe the nature of my issue. Which I did and it fell on to another section as it was more litigation (banking). I received a followup within a few days from one of the legal assistants who asked me to give her a level of detail to what the issue was. Which I did. This was on the 16 Sep 19. I was advised that someone (either her or the lawyer) would get back to be "soon". I have sent several followup emails and even left a voice mail. This law firm came highly recommended from one the larger firms here in Ottawa (Gowling) who couldn't take my case / look at my case due a conflict in interest. I think the biggest issue I have is that someone could have easily contacted me and told me if I have case or not. It didn't even get to that. I am very disappointed and will be moving on - couldn't even have the decency to respond with an update.
Just tremendous. Sound advice. Prompt. Excellent.
I was treated with urgency and like my concerns mattered. I was given superb advice and felt in good hands the minute we communicated. There was a very successful outcome and I would trust them with any legal matter.
The lady lawyer we dealt with was extremely vindictive but not very educated, she might have the paperwork on her wall to prove she can do the job, but in my humble opinion, that is where is stops. Ive heard many good things about this firm, and my condo board has used them in the past, good work with huge bills. When I tried it for myself it was a train-wreck. Im actually considering small claims court for damages. My experience with the lady lawyer was quite horrible to say the least. She should not be a part of your great team. In my opinion she is a bad apple.
Its a pay by the minute service. I paid $2200 to get a letter written for a WSIB appeal. It was denied immediately. The lawyer who wrote it left, and introduced me to a colleague he said could help if I needed anything further. Although I did not ask the new guy for anything I noticed that the one who took over added another hour and change to my bill. I was then sent an email about closing my file ( and of course paying the invoice) in which he stated " Dale, it was a pleasure working with you and I am pleased that we were able to achieve a resolution to this matter. Should you require any other legal services in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me. I wish you good health and all the best!" Not sure how getting an appeal denied should make him pleased, but oh well...
Called and left messages a few times about my case and did not hear back from anyone.
I could not be happier with the service I received form Erin and Nuwanthi. They were professional, patient and fast to reply to all my questions. I always felt they had by best interests at heart
I have dealt with this firm on previous issues. I suggest that you steer way clear of this outfit. Stephanie Lewis, in particular does not meet the standard level of professionalism and contributed towards a long winded and unprofessional state of affairs. If you need good quality legal representation, I suggest looking elsewhere. Don't waist your time with these unprofessional folks!
Just give them your Amex card & get bills ... they will follow you to your grave......
They were super great with everything. Any question or even meeting me half way some where they did it. Very please with how I was treated.
