Gaetan directed me to one of his associates when I was filing for divorce. I went in for a 30 minute consultation as I didn't know which direction to persue. Within the first 5 minutes their reassuring advise was noted and actions were taken in that direction. I am hoping that I wont need that part of his services again but will be consulting him on matters of wills and estates in the future. SO INSANELY EXPENSIVE! I had similar services done with another firm and they quality was the same if not better and only about half the price!! They guys price gauge, especially towards people under a certain income level. They require a trust fund of $2000 AT ALL TIMES! DO NOT GO WITH THESE GUYS! Save your money and find somewhere much more reasonable!!!

This firm handled my fathers estate in 2016-18 I found their services to be slow, expensive and inefficient. (40 days to return an email is egregious) To add insult to injury my 20 year old sister was told at reception, “don’t spend it all in one place” when she picked up her inheritance check (after losing her father at age 20). Edit to address owners comments. Gaetan was advised of these comments and ignored them (reference email from 12.17.18 I can forward them to you) I would have believed 2-3 years was a reasonable amount of time to close an estate with tax issues if we hadn’t just finalized an estate (during covid no less) in many ways more complicated, than my late fathers. I don’t have any recourse, I just want people to know.

This year (2020) I had my own and my brother's Last Will & Testament and Powers of Attorney documents for Personal Care and for Property drawn up by AGB Lawyers. Gaetan Buttigieg took the time to explain each clause personally, and provided background information and advice on legal technicalities. This was important since I wanted to prepare proper documents only once, and Gaetan specializes in family law and wills, so he has the experience dealing with many similar cases. As I am a guardian for my brother who is mentally disabled, it was important that my brother could understand each document that he signed, which he did after Gaetan's courteous and patient explanations. Gaetan is also up-to-date, advising me of the importance of including passwords for computers in documents which might be read by Executors other than me. This was made clearer to me recently when I saw a TV news clip on Apple's refusal to allow the widow of an author to access the files of a computer for which she did not have the password. AGB Lawyers is a small firm, so they can provide quick and efficient service without going through many administrative layers. The document signings were witnessed by Mafanwy, Gaetan's wife, who personally had the affidavits sworn before a Commissioner for the Province of Ontario within a day. Mafanwy, Gaetan, and their Secretary were the only people I dealt with, and they are all pleasant, helpful, and courteous. My cases were straightforward with no complications (no spouses, no ex-spouses, no children, no debts) so the fees were basic, with the total cost and breakdown quoted exactly in advance, so there were no surprises of hidden or extra fees. You might be able to find lower quotes at other firms, but I was glad to have peace of mind by paying a fair fee for competent, friendly service.

I would be very very carful when it comes to the billing process. Like others have mentioned your first retainer will be used up right away. Very confusing billing process and multiple lawyers are used for simple tasks to increase their profit. Very disappointed in the service.

Horrible misleading firm that over bills for everything, spends through your retainer faster than you can blink and then asks for more and more money, spends through that and then withholds final product until you add more. Simple tasks that should take 2 hours by any competent lawyer they find ways to have multiple lawyers "consult" on with nondescript conversations that they can't actually prove took place. Ultimately, from my experience a simple contract amendment that any decent lawyer takes two hours to do they bill so that so that it takes 7-9 hours. Go ANYWHERE else! *** Of course I am using an alias. First and Last.

I recommend the AGB lawyers for family law. I booked a 30 minutes free consultation with Gaetan Buttigieg that lasted more than 30 minutes, but the lawyer was a very respectful person and didn’t cut me off once the time for free consultation was up. He was very honest, and helpful in providing me his advice and guidance. He responded to my questions respectfully and talked about the available options openly. He even referred me to another firm should I go with one of the options he explained. I found him a very respectful, polite, understanding, honest and open minded. I recommend him and the firm for Family law matters. Should I go with the one of the options he explained, I’ll definitely become their client because I found him trustworthy and helpful.

As an office location this place is professional and has free parking. As a law firm, it really depends on which one of the lawyers you are dealing with. It's very difficult to write the place as a whole which is why I only gave it three stars. My initial impression is that it's professional, and the receptionist is friendly and professional too. The waiting area and meeting rooms are nice and clean. They offer tea and coffee while you wait or when you're in the meeting. I like when people do that. Makes you feel welcome.

I had came to ABG Lawyers knowing nothing about law. Expecting to be well taken care of. I was flipped around and never contacted in terms of my case. I spent over three thousand dollars which only gave me a few days to see my kids on Christmas day which they were just getting me to spend more money. She was clueless throughout the duration of our conversation, should have retired over 30 years ago as it seems her dementia is starting to set in. Stay far away from her as possible. Horrible experience! The lawyer I met with at the firm seemed good the start. Then she got to busy with other clients and would take weeks to get back to me. They are not afraid to send invoices out but refused to show me an itemized bill for the services rendered. Even after requesting one numerous times. Just before I took my business elsewhere I topped up my retainer. The receptionist told me the remainder would be mailed to me along with a bill. Still haven't seem either items. That was 2 months ago. Horrible experience!
