Mr Borden was acting as my daughters lawyer in a custody case . as of today july 7 2014 we have paid over $7000 to him . yesterday 4 days before a court date he asked her for another $3000. She could not come up with the cash and he would not do a payment plan so he dropped her as a client . $7000 in his pocket 4 days beofe her court date is very immoral and criminal . This shows he has no morals or client loyalty and is only out for the money . PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS LAWYER . We have also reported him to the law society so hopefully they will shut him down before he steals from more young clients . Yes i said steals as this is what others get jailed for if any other trades people did this . Please check his reviews as this is an ongoing practice for MR BORDEN OF OSHAWA ON CANADA

Started with Mr. Borden, whi then passed me to Kathleen Laverick. Started out with her showing concern and interest. She falsified documents, get to court and instead of going to trial, sides with my ex and her lawyer giving them everything they asked for and me losing pretty much everything. I've now become nothing more than a paycheck. Afterwards, my ex breeched the court order taking phone calls away from me. I contacted Kathleen, she has yet (4 months later) to return my emails or calls after saying she would "look into it". I haven't even recieved the files. Horribly useless lawyer whome I believe shouldn't be involved in family law in any capacity. STAY AWAY FROM THIS FIRM!!!!

Worst Law Firm in Durham's history I was offered a cash option (under the table $5000) to frame my husband, make false misleading statements to hurt him and take his rights away as a father and was guaranteed this result, more than a year and a half of wasted time and money and still no results, paper work is inconsistent, statements written by Kathleen have errors that have been pointed out by the judge, i feel like I've been lied to and taken advantage of, I trusted her judgement and expertise but now I'll have to take this all to ULCC for investigation Don't get yourself involved with this firm, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment, money and time wasted

If you ever go up against this guy.. Beware. He will lie, cheat and steal your life away from you. Also, he will never, ever reply to a self Rep. And even my lawyer. He took 3 weeks to respond. Report him to the law society. He has multiple complaints against him already. Not sure how he was even called to the bar.

Mark Borden and Kathleen Laverick are a couple of totally untrustworthy crooks. DO NOT give this firm your money! They will take payment from you and totally cut off all communication afterwards. Neither Kathleen nor Mark have the balls to face up to their failures and/or thievery, so you'll never hear from them again. Any "good" reviews are created by the firm themselves to get rid of the true, POOR reviews they receive by outraged former clients. Take your money and RUN!!!

I approached Borden family lawyers to represent me and I can absolutely say that they did that and more. From Mark Borden himself being completely professional. To Amanda Crocker who was so informative and helpful and even walking in the door being greeted by Erin who was very helpful. Everyone was a pleasure to work with. It was not an easy situation for me but they were there the whole way thru. Even adding in Covid which has affected everyone, they still did what they could and more importantly kept me in the loop at all times so I could be aware of exactly what was going on. They have a job to do and a lot of people to do that job for but I felt like I was important, a priority and in the end I was pleased for sure with all aspects. Especially regarding my children. I would definitely recommend this firm to all and actually have and they have taken me up on it. It’s easy to write a good or bad review but I will be completely honest and tell whoever reads this that they do go to work for you and stand for you.
