I decided to have Robert handle my Separation Agreement and divorce after spending nearly a year with another lawyer. I wasted $17,000 on this first lawyer being told and I quote, “there are no good outcomes for you”. This huckster ripped me off for $800 to do, well, nothing. I was a desperate single mum and went to him hoping for help with an international child support case. He talked and talked and talked - mostly about himself and what a well-connected, experienced guy he was. He actually geysered thru one entire appointment about his LOVely vacation in the Seychelles - to me, struggling through a cold winter in Victoria raising my children alone, worried how I would pay his bills. This scheister is a pathetic aging narcissist. BE WARNED: do not be taken in by all his "credentials". He is toxic.

The end of a relationship is devastating, Robert was able to soften the blow and make the process bearable. We disagreed at times in the process but he always had my best interest in mind. It was frustrating as to how long it took to complete but people do have lives. This is not a quick process, if you want it done properly it takes time. Back in 2001 I knew my marriage was unsalvageable. Had a initial 1 hour consultation in which Mr. Klassen precisely explained Family law options - court proceedings to mediation, traditional negotiation to the collaborative family law option. Passive and dishonest. I felt he had more genuine sympathy for my ex husband than myself given his personal experience with divorce. Waste of time and money and I felt he was in cahoots with my ex's lawyer. He dragged out the process not really putting my wishes forward. Ended up costing me over $7000 with no results. Interestingly, it was about the same cost for him to go on vacation to Africa for a month. He said that doing the collaborative process and using child specialists would be beneficial in court, but it wasn't even looked over. He tried to scare me with the expenses of court and the likely hood of not winning my case. Well court did work out for me. When I did decide on the court root, he told me that I would change my mind on my demands, which he admitted he did not take my demands seriously and was never on my side. When I told my second lawyer what he said to me, she was shocked. Not sure why he is considered a top lawyer. Maybe only to male clients.
