This is a great law firm, my friend was in an accident a few months back and I referred him to Heath Law. He was very impressed with the service, and fully understands now what to do and not do thereafter. Highly recommended, hoping for a settlement in time.

They are very efficient, reasonably priced, and did my mom's probate papers and conveyancing of the estate mobile home. They are friendly courteous, and dig deep with their questions to you to get all the facts to do the job right the first time. I was recommended to use them by one of my good friends who is involved in developing of various projects and all of them require an expert lawyer. Mike Brown is that man, I was glad for his recommendation, he's very experienced and knows his stuff.

Paul of the North

Good service, friendly front staff. Ian Gove, Corporate & Commercial lawyer, was super helpful in getting to a quite acceptable final solution.

Jason Bunston

I had some estate complications and technicalities I needed sorted out and was referred to Heath Law by another in-town firm. The major issues I was dealing with were clarified with a very short consultation. I'm almost mad I didn't come to them first. I am very satisfied with this firm's work so far.

Mac Bro

Got facts, and service as expected.

I’m a small business owner in Nanaimo who was searching for a law firm to work with for an incorporation. I asked for referrals through facebook, as well as went through my accountant’s referrals. I reached out to each referral with a list of questions. I’m the kind of person who wants to understand the why in a way that makes sense to me, so I like someone with patience to walk me through until I understand. I went with Ian Gove of Heath Law as, out of all of the referrals, he did this. He booked a zoom call and took me through everything until I understood it. He’s also answered every question along the way that I’ve had. Other places didn’t get back to me at all and/or if they did, it was an assistant who booked a time with me and then that person couldn’t answer my questions so 2-3 appointments later, I was “maybe” going to get time with the actual lawyer. I felt like an equal with Ian. I felt like I wasn’t worthy of the person who could actually answer my questions time at the other places.

I'm sure there are many excellent lawyers at this law office. My comments here refer only to Mike Brown. I am taking a reverse mortgage and Home Equity Bank require that I obtain "independent legal advice.", for which I am charged $700. I spent 20 minutes with Mike Brown. He opened the meeting by saying "The reason you have to see me is because their mortgage rates are higher than a regular mortgage and they want to make sure you can't come back later and say you didn't understand" He was required to sign a Certificate of Independent Legal Advice which states "During the course of the consultation I explained the nature of the Mortgage/Charge, the parties' rights and obligations thereunder and the fact that the loan balance grows over time. The client expressed full understanding of my advice and appeared to fully appreciate the legal risks and oblgations...." At no time did he explain ANYTHING. At no time did I "express full understanding..." Beyond giving me the wrong information about where the funds would be deposited (he told me TD, in fact they will be deposited in RBC), he offered no information at all. I consider myself a very savvy "senior", but had that not been the case, it would not have been easy to get him to explain the rights and obligations of the parties to this mortgage. He certainly did not fulfill the requirements of the Certificate he signed. His goal was to get me to sign the necessary documents and get me out of there as quickly as possible. He was brusque and unfriendly and certainly for anyone less confident than myself, he would have come across as quite intimidating. Before attending this appointment I was planning to enquire about whether this firm handles wills. After meeting with Mike Brown, I would rather die intestate than seek his advice on a new will.
