I came to Me. Fournier in the fall of 2017 looking for help regarding a family law case with a problematic ex-partner. She took on the case, yet there were a number of issues that I experienced with her that I am sad to say did not meet even the most basic expectations. For one, she hand wrote my agreement, rather than typing it out, despite me asking her to do so. She told me that it would be too difficult to get my ex-partner to sign the typed agreement. She was late to court twice, the first time only 10 minutes, but the next time, 25 minutes. We made an appointment in her office, which, when I arrived, she did not show up, and then later her secretary told me she was in court the whole day. Next, a few months after finalizing the agreement, I tried to contact her again when my ex started reneging on vacation permissions, she did not respond, and left me completely on my own, only responding with a two minute phone call about a month later. Now, this september, we had exchanged emails and she had told me she would send documents over that had been demanded by my ex's lawyer. She ended up going one week on vacation and then I never heard from her again, until I emailed her 6 weeks in a row, and finally started to lodge a complaint with the Quebec Bar. Today, I went to pick up my file after giving 24 hours notice, and there was no one to greet me, and when I politely inquired about obtaining my file with her colleague Me. Lambert, she raised her voice and slammed the door. I have since consulted with another lawyer, and it turns out that Me. Fournier even left out a very important clause in my final agreement. And after all this, Me. Fournier's only response was, Oh i didn't check my messages and I don't know. and to think I paid over $3000 for her basic services ... stay away.
